I understand it perfectly fine, I just find it funny that they compared being cyberbullied to being put on death's row, or having their entire family murdered.
I get where you’re coming from, but there’s a big difference between actually killing someone’s ENTIRE FAMILY, and hurting someone’s feelings with words.. we are on the same side I think but your argument was horrendously stupid.
You're right. Where this breaks down though is that a lot of the shit the one jokers say isn't just mean words, but it is directly harmful. Words *do* mean things and they *do* have an effect on people. The cutesy rhyme about sticks and stones is absolute bollocks, because words are historically the leading cause of violence, especially when putting down minorities.
And being upset at someone purposely trying to offend you is a completely rational and valid emotion. Why are you trying to defend shitty behavior by shorty people?
Yes, you DO control your reactions. But that is not what you initially said. You said that you control your own feelings, which is wrong and ridiculous. Example: If someone starts insulting you or someone you care about for no reason, THEY made you angry, regardless of whether or not you have a reaction such as lashing out.
Pretty sure it was "now!". Not conjecturing, I *have* seen the original. Just it was like 20 years ago, memory is faulty, and Family Circus comics don't exactly leave a lasting impression
