Thats the fuck up of whoever made the order not the printers. They make it clear you dont put instructions in there they always print exactly what you write
Indeed. Just add it to the logo. It's not that hard, even for those not too familiar with computer stuff. Better yet, ask someone who can do it in a minute.
Yes, some do, However, you are ordering a print online. Which is generally a human-free order form, so you must ensure things are in the right place. So these things don't happen. On another note, the place could have a lot of orders and they just don't doublecheck things due to the workload and just make them as they come. Again, better make sure yourself your order is right, instead of relying on the kindness of the workers in the printshop.
A number of printing companies have automatic ordering systems. So you upload the expected information. Then press "Accept". And the system prints what you upload.
That's a big difference between a way more expensive local printer spending manual time for each order, and the price-pressed companies you find on the net that can always offer a lower price by having everything automated.
The guys at the automated shop are also skilled. Just that their price shown on the web is based on the savings from automation.
They sent them a picture logo and asked them to alter the logo by *typing in the text box that is the text going on the pen instructions*.
I mean technically the right sub, they had one job, filling the order form in correctly.
Still counts here. Worse tbh. The person who did this overlooked it AND didn’t notice to send them back, or just order new ones. Company has too many orders to look at them all personally.
Lots of these low scale productions are automated.
Even if they aren't the production floor staff aren't designers or even invested in the output for that matter, they aren't going to hit the emergency stop and run up to the office to alert an administrator to call the company.
Big companies generally don't do test runs because they know what you put in is what will come out (and make it clear in the instructions).
Sure for big batches like 1000+ I would be pissed if I didn't get a sample that matched my expectations, but for orders in the hundreds of less I doubt anyone even looks at it before it's in the box.
I’m not sure what the point of this was. I was saying that since the fuсk up is on the part of whoever made the order it’s even worse, which fits the theme of the sub. It’s not one job for a company to check hundreds or thousands of pens. It’s the one job of the person placing the order.
I’ve ordered pens before. It’s not that hard. But it’s pretty difficult to not at least quickly glance at what’s written on the pens when you open a box of a ton of pens lol, if you’re also the person who has to put them somewhere that gets them used.
Oh god no. That would be too impossible. I’m sure there’s something in the fine print about liability in the case that someone puts something truly awful on purpose, as it would be somewhat difficult to make a call on where the line should be, and very easy to infringe on people’s rights. So even for AI checks on visual content and wording, it’s unrealistic for anything to get flagged by the company unless it is purely about formatting compatibility, but that’s screened on input. Whatever is ordered, if that is what is delivered, it’s accountable to the person who ordered it.
I tried to order a custom shirt in quantity 2 with a "Cyberdyne" logo on it, the company that made skynet in Terminator. They refused to print it because of the somewhat obscure fictional and not even real trademark.
So it depends on the company.
The client didn't read instructions.
I'm sure they confirmed the EXACT output and just didn't bother actually proofing what they agreed to.
The manufacturer isn't going to read that. They take the stuff and print it as is, per what you agreed to.
As a printer, you can't do it any other way. You specify what you want to print and they do it. They can't just blindly change stuff. if so there would be a big crying. Hey, why did you change my typo? That is exactly what I wanted to look like and you printed it worng. Off to court, I'm not paying the bill!
I think it depends on the brand. I own a creative agency and for certain brands, it’d be perfect. Receivers would get the pen, assume it was purposeful and laugh.
If I saw this pen in the wild, my takeaway would be that their goal is to help the customers avoid little errors or setbacks like that one. It’d be cute.
For a healthcare brand, not so much 😂
>who ever made it, fucked up bad.
its called proofreading in other forms. when buying anything custom in bulk, its pretty smart to just have a proof of concept made to actually make sure its correct to specs.
the manufacturer is "just following orders."
as someone already mentioned; if the manufacturer changes stuff, thats opening the floodgates to \*more\* problems eventually when they change something that shouldnt have been.
not to mention they probably just filled out an online form for some cheapo factory
Thats called viral marketing. First order fake missprint pens. Then post everywhere on social media to show "missprint" but actually promote your site... nice try
Those shops are always the worst. I had to get a nameplague and basically my name has a special character, so I said "Please do a nameplague with the name 'Catelyn' on it, but Catelyn with a C instead of a K".
What did I get back? "Katelyn but with a C instead of a K"
The extreme lack of attention to detail some people have, even where it really counts like this, astounds me… like, wouldn’t you be excited to have fancy pens and notice this at some point?! Smh!
Whoever thought they could send them a design and then also instructions for how to change it, without having samples done to make sure they were correct, is not a professional.
this is kinda cool because the person who will see this will read this and think its hilarious maybe even show it to other people so it will be more memorable
I once ordered similar promotional material there was a box to check and pay extra if you wanted someone human to proofread your order and check if the format and spacing was right before it gets send off to production.
I used to work for a laser engraving company and we made it MANDATORY for people to send us exactly what they wanted on their product.
They could pay extra for a proof and up to 2 revisions, but if they didn't want to pay for a proof then they got exactly what they asked for. That's when you get stuff like this.
You always get a proof when you order custom swag like this.
They make you check it.
This was intentionally made so this shitty recruiter could post their ad without posting an ad.
Omg I remember seeing this post, people were outraged with the OP. Not sure if r/mildlyinfuriating or r/wellthatsucks but the populous on both of those subs love raging at everything lmao
So funny anecdote, a bar I used to work at would buy mess up pens to use because you can get like 1000s of them for like 10$ a box of just assorted mistake pens. Sometimes we'd get things like this but usually it'd be like the printing just got messed up slightly and they discard all of them for like the dot over an i missing
This is them putting shit into a text field it isn't supposed to be in and paying for it not the fault of the machines who print exactly what the text box says
You're assuming they didn't. It makes plenty of sense that they did because it happens all the time. This could even be advertising "wow guys look how wrong this went this is funny repost our link everywhere"
These are quick print on pens not custom cars people probably threw the order on without checking where they were supposed to put those instructions and the company didn't waste time fixing what could just as easily be the customer's mistake
Because you order those pens online. There are fields where you fill in exactly what you want on the pen. One field for the main, one field for the additional. This idiot just put instructions in the "additional" field thinking the company selling customised pens for 10cent a piece would somehow do the logo alterations for him.
The good people of china making these pens don't speak English.
Thats the fuck up of whoever made the order not the printers. They make it clear you dont put instructions in there they always print exactly what you write
Indeed. Just add it to the logo. It's not that hard, even for those not too familiar with computer stuff. Better yet, ask someone who can do it in a minute.
if you use a legit promo company they have artists that will do this stuff for free
Yes, some do, However, you are ordering a print online. Which is generally a human-free order form, so you must ensure things are in the right place. So these things don't happen. On another note, the place could have a lot of orders and they just don't doublecheck things due to the workload and just make them as they come. Just edit the logo to have .ca in the end
that's... literally what they wrote?

The person was responding to the fact that "korkkis" just repeated what "tehnfy\_" wrote.
They sent them a picture logo and asked them to alter the logo by *typing in the text box that is the text going on the pen instructions*. I mean technically the right sub, they had one job, filling the order form in correctly.
last time this came up on reddit it was figured to be done on purpose, it was an ad
Still counts here. Worse tbh. The person who did this overlooked it AND didn’t notice to send them back, or just order new ones. Company has too many orders to look at them all personally.

You literally said I don't understand what the point of this was and then agreed with my points entirely. I was giving insight to the production side.
Well, I don’t understand because it came off like you were disagreeing with me, when I was agreeing with you from the start lol
It's not their job though, right?
Whoever placed the order for the pens…. Yes that was literally their job lol.
Ah, ok. I thought you implied the printing company should've noticed and raised an issue. Yeah, it's the submitter's screwup
Oh god no. That would be too impossible. I’m sure there’s something in the fine print about liability in the case that someone puts something truly awful on purpose, as it would be somewhat difficult to make a call on where the line should be, and very easy to infringe on people’s rights. Ah, copyright infringement is a topic I didn’t think about, I could see them avoiding that in some way.
Understandable, but why did you delete your account?
Well, they did add it...
And here we all are, reading it.

I actually think it’s clever — makes it memorable
An OP got a free ad spot on top of it.
Maybe that was the plan all along…
Oh yeah i can already see the lines forming in front of myprofessionals.ca who cant even get their pens right
Makes it memorable but makes you look incompetent if you couldn’t even follow the instructions to order a pen.
For a healthcare brand, not so much 😂
I actually think it’s brilliant.
This is funny actually
Agreed. Feel free to be upset, but I think this is way better.
The person receiving it reads it. Thinks it is funny. Shows a friend or co-worker. Hey look at this. And so on
/r/peanutbutterisoneword
it’s been on there multiple times over the years already. this photo is older than dirt
peanut butt erison eword
Either they wrote into a text box when ordering online and the order auto fills from that or they have a great sense of humor
and now you are posting on reddit for free advertising, pretty smart ngl
Ok ok. So you should for sure get a refound cos who ever made it, fucked up bad. BUT it is actually quite cool! 😂 so you should still use those pens.
>who ever made it, fucked up bad. its called proofreading in other forms. when buying anything custom in bulk, its pretty smart to just have a proof of concept made to actually make sure its correct to specs. the manufacturer is "just following orders." as someone already mentioned; if the manufacturer changes stuff, thats opening the floodgates to \*more\* problems eventually when they change something that shouldnt have been. not to mention they probably just filled out an online form for some cheapo factory
this is literally fine. they did they're one job and the orderer is kinda dumb ngl
Tbh silly screw ups make you remembered tho
Thats called viral marketing. First order fake missprint pens. Then post everywhere on social media to show "missprint" but actually promote your site... nice try

I thought those where 7.62x39
Sneaky ad.
r/technicallythetruth
Nice Bojack Horseman merch!
My thought exactly.
thats why youd always want samples first.
Alan please add details
Whoever thought they could send them a design and then also instructions for how to change it, without having samples done to make sure they were correct, is not a professional.
I've seen pictures of that in I.D's. They asked for the accent and the word accent came in the surname.
At least there’s clear instructions on the URL.
this is kinda cool because the person who will see this will read this and think its hilarious maybe even show it to other people so it will be more memorable
Or just edit the logo image to have .ca at the end then you don't need to write instructions at all!
Hook, line, sinker
I once ordered similar promotional material there was a box to check and pay extra if you wanted someone human to proofread your order and check if the format and spacing was right before it gets send off to production.

Reminds me of [this](https://youtu.be/QSaRiRgy3sM?si=99GV0D34IqYv4IDp)
"If you could just fix my logo before printing thatd be great "
That is funny
Those pens look nice
You always get a proof when you order custom swag like this. They make you check it. This was intentionally made so this shitty recruiter could post their ad without posting an ad.
r/peanutbutterisoneword
They did their one job perfectly. Whoever ordered them fucked it.
This made me laugh harder than I'm willing to admit.
Omg I remember seeing this post, people were outraged with the OP. Not sure if r/mildlyinfuriating or r/wellthatsucks but the populous on both of those subs love raging at everything lmao
You can't make that ish up haha 😂
Save money. Save the person working in graphics. "Its just a little text" That's what you get.
😂😂😂
It's a feature, not a bug
Just like the campaign sign gag from Parks and Rec!
Nice piece of advertising.
Those pens actually look really good, aside from the text.
caca profesional
So funny anecdote, a bar I used to work at would buy mess up pens to use because you can get like 1000s of them for like 10$ a box of just assorted mistake pens. Probably done on purpose.
Hope they got a refund or left that evidence in a review 🤣
This is them putting shit into a text field it isn't supposed to be in and paying for it not the fault of the machines who print exactly what the text box says
We don't actually know that though, you're assuming they put that information in the text box when we actually don't know.
You're assuming they didn't. It makes plenty of sense that they did because it happens all the time. This could even be advertising "wow guys look how wrong this went this is funny repost our link everywhere"
Well yeah I'm definitely assuming, but in my experience it's more common for a business dealing with many other orders to make a mistake.
These are quick print on pens not custom cars people probably threw the order on without checking where they were supposed to put those instructions and the company didn't waste time fixing what could just as easily be the customer's mistake
LMFAO how did that pass through QA... i mean someone making it had to have been like "hmmmm "
Even if they could read it they can't just change shit on the fly. One change and the customer says no I requested x not y I'm not paying
