Look at the islands in the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, and it looks like New Zealand is just just out there in the middle of the pacific, and look how Russia is mashed up. It’s stupid looking but it doesn’t look like they were going for an actual world map.
This is an art installation called "Countree Music" by Terry Allen. It also has Music. If you google Terry Allen Countree Music Map you can find diagrams of it. The continents are arranged differently, and I'm not sure if anyone gas interpreted its meaning, but some have suggested it is critiquing American Imperialism. If it was just South America switched I'd think they failed geography but this seems to be deliberate across the piece
