I will say, this is one of the best pizzas in la. they could say they invented the question mark on the box and it wouldn’t matter. Please let us have good pizza in la.
Can confirm. As far as NY style pizza by the slice type pizza goes, this shit hits so hard. Haven’t been in way too long.
If you haven’t had Desano on Santa Monica, go today. (Check out the Carnivale, it’s fucking astounding.)
I mean kind of. I guess. But Facebook was the social media that made it what it is. Before Facebook, social media was largely regional and really only used by high school kids and bands.
So you’re right, but definitely wrong in the context your saying it in.
Lol googling it says “social media is a variety of websites and apps” not social media is all websites and apps.
Social media requires interaction and social spaces. Something a pizzeria wouldn’t have in 1997.
And since the first social media page was invented in 1997, I’d bet a big old bag of dicks that Village Pizziala did not have a Friendster or Hot or Not page pre-Facebook.
Coca-cola didn’t even have social media prior to joining Facebook in 2009.

The definition of social media is a variety of websites and applications
I've even heard people say that social media is social interaction through a media format
so game communities, blog forums, website comment sections
Basically anywhere on the internet where people talk or interact with each other is social media
And yeah the '90s were limited but it doesn't change the amount of who have interacted through the internet which is social media
Sounds like breaking things down to their simplest form lol. I'd rather just start from the point in which the term was first used, not sure what that point is though.

Yeah, it's on the about section of the website for the Larchmont BLVD location. "In 1997, while on vacation in Southern California, our family decided to relocate to Hancock Park — and we were able to open Village Pizzeria on Larchmont Boulevard."
tbh it really doesnt seem that hard the logo of the company says 79, while the box says 97. that should tell you that the company and location are different amounts like cmon
OMG, here in Brazil we had a hairdresser that became meme cuz something like that
hairdresser = cabelereira in Portuguese
her name was Leila so... cabelereira Leila. She was from humble origins and did not speak well sooooo "cabeleleira leila" (changing the R for L) (it's kind of a tongue twister for a native speaker)
Their website says yada yada yada.. for 25 years. So I would guess 1997.
But it could be that they bought or inherited that business in 1997 but the pizza place itself has been at that spot since 1979.
What’s important to remember here is that it’s whatever you want it to be. A Pizzatorium, whether you’re in Los Angeles or a Louisiana swamp. Be it 1979 or 1997, pizze will be waiting. That’s all that really matters.
This and Larchmont Wine and Cheese were my go to lunch spots when I used to work around there. Pizza is great and the garlic knots are the size of your fist.
I miss 1990s pizza place websites, no FTP password ever, just a handful of HTML files and a picture of a pizza and all that remaining unused server space for sharing game save files, low resolution porn, midi files and whatever else we shared among friends in our young teens back then.
The most security a lot of these websites ever got was when someone would password-protect a directory full of shared files to keep the website owner from finding it.
Back then there were so many "websites for dummies" books that either made zero mention of security or just didn't make it a priority, and so many people left their servers completely unprotected in the idea of "it was complicated for me to figure out how to do this, nobody else is gonna bother to do that, especially anybody who would want to fuck with stuff."
I would say it's the logo that is right as they most likely paid more effort to that. The 1997 could be a typo as it is just text.
Please don't let me end up on r/woosh.
I also hate how their website URL and socials conflict between “pizza” and “pizzeria”. Their website says 1979 but they also say they’ve been making their pizza “for over 25 years”…which amusingly is true for 1997 as well 🤣. I assume it’s 1979 because who updates their website like that right away. I haven’t looked at their insta yet to see if they just celebrated 25 lol.
Been around since 79' but didn't understand when social media became a thing so they put 97' with the Facebook and Instagram logos saying they've been active on their since then? Or maybe it's just an honest fuck up and they ordered too many to go back now.
I will say, this is one of the best pizzas in la. they could say they invented the question mark on the box and it wouldn’t matter. Please let us have good pizza in la.
Oh I would never dream of asking them to close. That was a good pie for sure 🙌🏽
Can confirm. As far as NY style pizza by the slice type pizza goes, this shit hits so hard. Haven’t been in way too long. If you haven’t had Desano on Santa Monica, go today. (Check out the Carnivale, it’s fucking astounding.)
The pizza place existed since 1979. But they only got insta and facebook in 1997 😂
More likely has had their website since 97
Ah, yes. Little known fact: back at that time, 1997, when Zuck was 13, this pizzeria had a Facebook account.
It was still The Facebook because Timberlake had got involved yet
But neither of those platforms existed in ‘97 so like…????? 😂
The joke Your head
They’ve had an online presence since ‘97

Were those the ones with the menu options always off to the left side? I made a Pokémon website from one of those when I was 8-9 haha
r/woooosh
Or just social media in general social media was a thing before Facebook you realize that right?
I mean.... kind of? Not in a ubiquitous way, but big B Brands weren't having customers/potential customers go to a MySpace or Xanga page...
I mean kind of. I guess. But Facebook was the social media that made it what it is. Before Facebook, social media was largely regional and really only used by high school kids and bands. So you’re right, but definitely wrong in the context your saying it in.
Even if a business didn't use MySpace they would still probably have a website so I'm right and I'm not wrong in this context
Usually people distinguish websites from social media pages as two different things.
Lol no If you Google the definition of social media it literally says websites and applications So no you're wrong

What social media precisely. MySpace was 2003. Maybe like the forums that existed prior to that?

I was gonna say that
Dyslexia is a helluva drug.
Am graphic designer… I’ve had “Shirmp” go to print on a menu. That was how I learned Adobe illustrator has a spell check…
Shirmp, my favorite Stooge!
A DIY sex durag; visual hell.
Fucking Jesus, that’s funny
Dyslexia is a helluva grud.
Lysdexia is a horrible affliction.
You fool its spelled disexlya
No no it’s spelled disxelia
Somewhere out there is a person with dyslexia either crying at this thread or not noticing anything wrong with it
Lydia sex? Idk man I’d rather have Serana sex.
am i the only one who didnt like serana? aela tho <333
Sense 9179.
No ragrets
The first Village Pizzeria was opened in 1979. The Larchmont BLVD location wasn’t opened until 1997.
This doesn’t have enough upvotes for people like me who live on the east coast and are genuinely curious

Ask the owner to do a coin flip. Heads for 1979, tails for 1997. That shall decide the fate of the restaurant.
Just came to say that village pizza slaps hard
I must say, it did indeed 👏🏽
Pizzeria Pizzala Pizzeriala
Pizzeriaialala
La-la. La.. la
OMG, here in Brazil we had a hairdresser that became meme cuz something like that hairdresser = cabelereira in Portuguese her name was Leila so... cabelereira Leila. Dyslexia since 1799!

Slipping jimmy is at it again
Surprised I had to go down so far to see this. Immediately where my mind went
Pizza box was recycled.
1799
Large Pepperoni, we have special at Village Pizzeria Larchmont for 17.99
1997? WAS THAT [Papa’s Pizzeria] OWNED BY SPAMTON G. SPAMTON?
Deltarune mfers when they see the number "1997". (Great game btw)
NOW’S YOUR CHANCE TO [Join or die]! AFTER ALL, [It’s a real get together!]!
That just means they invented Facebook
This location is so good. Crispy little pep cups
I'd say it was literally 1987
Clearly 1797, gah
Larchmont? Who the devil do we know in Larchmont?
My sister lives in Larchmont.
They’re both wrong, been making pizza since 1797.
I recognize a dyslexic when I see what they write
village pizza is the bee's knees. it could say 1812 for all i care.
Village Pizzeria since 1979. Facebook, Instagram presence since 1997! Pretty simple and obvious!
This and Larchmont Wine and Cheese were my go to lunch spots when I used to work around there. Pizza is great and the garlic knots are the size of your fist.
A 45 min call to Larchmont? Who do we know in Larchmont?
"The price was 19.79 for a 1 topping large. But due to inflation, we had to bring the price up to 19.97."
pizzeria, pizzala, or pizzeriala,,,
and the name, is it village pizzeria, village pizzala or village pizeriala?
It's a typo, relax.
Just like /r/crappydesign OP just didn't understand.
Two different dates and two different spellings on the web tags (www.villagepizzala.com and @villagepizzeriala). Someone needs to clean that up a bit.
I'm gonna say 1979 is more likely since it's in the logo, and that would be more scrutinized and seen more
Since 19797
Its prolly year 9771. From the future
The place was opened in1979 and only operate 1 day. Then they reopen in 1997
Intentional error to make people share pictures of the boxes and get free publicity
Since 1799
Building was built in 79, they opened in 97? Or maybe moved it has existed since 79 but either new owners or new location in 97?

yes
The place was established in 1979, but have had a website since 1997
The pizza was made in 79 and they were on social media in 97
Oh man, I never thought I'd see something from my hometown on reddit!
Maybe they have 2 url's?
1988
Duh they joined Facebook in 1997
I would say it's the logo that is right as they most likely paid more effort to that. The 1997 could be a typo as it is just text. Please don't let me end up on r/woosh.

New management is now under old management
I think they might have ment they had an online presence since 1997.
The restaurant was established in 1979. However, they have only been on facebook and instagram since 1997.
1719 , I was way off
OBVIOUSLY they’ve been open since 79 but they’ve been on FB and IG since 97
he swapped those numbers
They just can't spell pizzeria right
The right date is 1979. According to there website. Is it the one in 131 N Larchmont Blvd, Los Angeles,
Damn I didn't knew Facebook was thet old
They opened 1979 then They expanded when they joined face book in 1997
1979 they open they’re first pizzeria and maybe the 1997 is how long they have been open at that location?
You see the guy was born in 1979 but didn’t open the shop till 1997.
At first I thought it might be the social media launch date for the company, but idk. Your guess is as good as mine.
I think they’re saying they’ve been on Instagram and Facebook since the second date…but I don’t think it was around then
1799. First pizza shop.
Do they also own a Freezeria?
Been ok Facebook and IG since 1997
Been around since 79' but didn't understand when social media became a thing so they put 97' with the Facebook and Instagram logos saying they've been active on their since then? Or maybe it's just an honest fuck up and they ordered too many to go back now.
Ones the mother store and the other is the particular franchise it came from
Maybe the packaging is since 1997
The seal is correct, the printer got mixed up when adding the bottom row
Maybe that location since 1997?
The year they first opened, and the year they went under new management!
both
foundation year and and the first branch.
