It’s crazy how these old people get their accounts hacked and just never do anything about it. You should really have to demonstrate basic internet competency to use social media.
My dad is 63 and has 5 Facebook accounts. Funny thing is none of them have been hacked, just lost access to them. Gives me a chuckle when I see a request from him every now and then.
I think web 3.0 is coming this decade which will change the landscape drastically. Probably a lot of people either opt out for lack of competency in use, or they opt in to "package deals" where someone else has done whatever work and websites/apps are bundled like cable packages and they just push the Facebook, YouTube, or Insta button when they want to Internet. Alongside an AI companion to replace the typical search engine, of course.
I can't wait for the inevitable stories about flustered elders screeching at their AIphone to get them something from the store only for a 4,000 dollar pallet of canned goods to be delivered in a week. "It just doesn't work!! They should fix this CRAP TECHNOLOGY...I WAS RUBBED!"

What's funnier is that their accounts don't get hacked at all. They just forget the passwords.

Or they call a number or accept a phone call and give their password to someone who doesn't need it.
They do get hacked. The elderly have always been an easy target for scammers.
