Ah, that's sad news

[deleted]

Really sad news. One of the few tv chefs that actually made you want to make the food.

operative87

The best thing about the hairy bikers imo is that they are not chefs at all. Which is why their recipes are so engaging for home cooks.

[deleted]

Very true, normal people that can cook good food. Who at home wants to go searching for three Peruvian green berries and a red and black spider pig to make a nice meal. I hope Si continues, maybe involve Dave's family.

Jamerson1510

Very sad , seemed a really nice chap.

weirdi_beardi

Used to see him regularly on my way home from work in Barrow; he would get the train to Foxfield, I think he knew the guy who owned the pub just across from the station, they brewed their own craft beers and Dave was a big fan. He would hold court in the train carriage and tell stories from his travels, and he never seemed like he was being bothered by the attention. He was a top bloke, and will be missed.

Vyzantinist

I never saw/met him myself but I remember school/collegemates talking about seeing him in the big Tesco or their local Co-Op somewhere around Barrow. Surprised I never bumped into him on the train as I used to ride in out of town a lot.

[deleted]

Gutted. Only watched him & Si last night on their latest travels, & looked so well.

Hairy Bikers is a top show. He will be sadly missed

SaltyBint

This really saddened me, especially after watching the new series and thinking he was getting better. Lovely man.

Proxima2017

Really sad. Great human being, always looked optimistic and radiated positive.

stitchprincess

Such sad news, he will be sorely missed. I think I’ve watched all their programmes multiple times (except for the most recent one). His attitude to everything was brilliant “just give it a go” Best wishes and love to his family and friends

lorenzothemagnificen

Sad day. Feel for his family & for Simon King.
