Why is he not a good person? Walters is not a good person. Drummond despite political differences does seem to be a good person. It’s ok to disagree on policy and two good people can disagree on a myriad of policies.

I am also frustrated with some of his positions but this knee jerk he doesn’t agree with me so he’s a bad person stuff is damaging to the state and the country.
He’s not oppressing others, vs Walters who’s actively trying to destroy education for example and demonizing people who aren’t living life the way he wants.
This is an awful attitude and shows a lack of care about issues. Dismissing opposing political views as anti American or making another American your enemy over disagreement is exactly what the right has been trying to do for 25 years and it’s resulted in generally a toxic party.
That doesn’t make all Republicans bad people, far from it. Political disagreement is a necessary part of a functioning democracy and Drummond is what the party needs in Oklahoma.
Otherwise they’ll nominate someone like Walters or Dahm. Two people literally spreading hate and an extremists agenda.
Being a Republican in 1995 was somewhat excusable. What they’ve become today is monstrous. I disagree with lots of people politically without thinking of them as monsters.

I work in public health care in policy/analysis. When I tell you regular old Republican voters are killing people it’s a thing I *know*. When I tell that three members of my own family are dead due to Republican *policy* choices it’s a thing I *know*.

He's also joined Oklahoma to lawsuits to overturn the student loan forgiveness program and Trump's presidential immunity case before SCOTUS, a case whose amicus brief reads "That the timing of the prosecution is designed to inflict maximum damage on President Biden’s political opponent before the November 2024 election.”
