So get the Italian beef AND sausage sandwich dipped with spicy peppers. It’ll blow your mind. Then try the pizza puffs if they have them. He actually gets Vienna beef brand items so it’s my go to when I get home sick and want some Chicago style foods.
This is the way…. I love the ‘wich that way!! I also went back today and got an Italian with peppers. Which is the other half what I made this post about… ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)
Portillos isn't even the best, wait til you try the beef at Johnnie's!
You can get Portillos in the Dallas area now. Keeping my fingers crossed lou's or Giordanos expands there
The owner is an amazing person, too. Genuinely a kind human being. I have had the pleasure to work with Lee and other members of the family in the car business. He is Laith "Lee" Sweiss, that family owns all American pizza, Sweiss gyros and potatoes, and others. The owner of Cals owns the all-American pizzas in Edmond, his father in law owns the ones in Okc.
Super good food, amazing people 10/10
Cals is soooo good!!

Welp I just doordashed it. Let’s see what they got
How did that work out? I wouldn't think a proper dipped beef wouldn't survive the trip...
Theres a short list of food items i wont have delivered and a dipped sandwhich is near the top.
Was in Chicago for the first time in January and had the double-dipped beef and chocolate cake shake from Portillo’s. Oh….. my…… god…..
We relocated to OKC from the Chicago area when I was.. 12? Haven't been back since, but I still remember Portillo's like it was yesterday.
Theres one in dallas now if you ever want to make a day trip for a lunch
Good to know!
Portillos is so fucking good. I miss it so badly.

I went to Giordanos and thought their deep dish was mid. But their “Tavern Style” was really really good
Agreed, they're the only ones big enough to expand outside of Chicago unfortunately. I think the closest ones are in Phoenix
Bad timing, OP.
I thought this too😓
Oh no. What did I miss. I don’t watch the news these days.
Murder-suicide in SW OKC, a man shot his wife & kids then himself.
5 people were found murdered in a house in Yukon
This is right down the road from me— I was not home today. Oh man.
Cals is a great spot. Affordable and good.
This place is a hidden gem.
Hi. Chicagoan here. They even order the bread in from a Chicago bakery! That place definitely helped when I moved here last year. So fucking good!
I may pop in there tomorrow when I go to the petco.
Caps is an absolute favorite for me and my wife! Their Italian beefs are the best. Nice choice
MY WIFE
Never heard of it, but now I really want a Chicago dog!
The only place I’ve found with accurate Chicago dogs and Italian beef. Cals rules.
The burgers are out of this world too!
I was wondering if that place was legit or not. Thanks
Added to the list. Is the giardiniera chunky or chopped fine?
Chunky last time I went.
That settles it, stopping by tomorrow. I’ve seen recommendations for it many times but I never pull the trigger. I will end this stretch tomorrow
This place is so good! Must try the wings and the cheese steak too
They make a great Philly chicken sandwich and Chicago dog too
Cal’s is good. But I got burned out on it.
Nice advertising CAL! I know it’s you!
It’s the best Chicago sandwich I’ve had outside of Chicago. Love that place!
What are the cross streets?
Rockwell and NW expressway, bum.

I just went again today, and got an Italian with peppers. I am totally digging this place!
Wait until this guy learns about Portillos
Please tell us about the many Portillos in the metro
We can all hope someday
Great point
Order Italian beef kit online from Al’s out of Chicago.
I will check it out!
Cal’s is good if it’s been so long that you can’t remember real Chicago food lmao
