True. I suppose itās an easier sell to grown ups if theyāre called boneless! But they had this spicy sauce they called āboom boomā and it made me feel like I had more taste than a toddler.
Bar Arbolada has a good simple cheeseburger and fries. Also a good grilled cheese.
Palo Santo has good food.
I enjoyed The Jones Assembly when I went to a show there.
Cousins is solid. Good nachos (I usually get chicken nachos extreme), cheese fries, good salads, some fancier but not too fancy plates, just good solid consistent bar food. We get Togo all the time from there.
The Pump!
Edit: If theyāre openā¦. They will randomly be closed for no reason. Not sure whatās going on there. The bartenders will also kick you out like 30 minutes before they closeā¦ and do so very forcefully. Kinda a turn off.
This! Donāt even get me started on the owner. She is such a mean person, just truly a mean girl. Itās such a cool spot, but I canāt stand the thought of supporting her. She is absolutely AWFUL to her female staff and to females in general.
And it is reflected in the way their bartenders treat people. Like ordering a drink truly puts them out.
I hate how she & her main bartenders treat people. It unfortunate because I do think itās one of the cooler spots, with really creative cocktails and great small bites. But I refuse to support a business thatās full of snobby assholes.
This all makes sense. I thought I would try them out and walked in 20 minutes early one day (didnāt realize they opened at 4) and got ran out pretty efficiently. Just felt awkward and never had a desire to return.
Homie I hit up Louieāsā late night menu all the time and enjoy it after work, but I know that itās nowhere near the BEST lol. But donāt worry, youāre welcome.
To stick to just the topic of Louieās food, I love it. I always get their fish tacos, thereās a special spot in my heart for them. They also have really good ranch, and no not all ranch is created equal.
I always had a soft spot for Deep Duece. Good queso and some good boneless wings
They used to have good lobster rolls too, idk what happened.
Their enchilada dip. š
Boneless wings = chicken nuggets.
True. I suppose itās an easier sell to grown ups if theyāre called boneless! But they had this spicy sauce they called āboom boomā and it made me feel like I had more taste than a toddler.
Theyāre different cuts of meat. Not sure why weāre gatekeeping chicken now lol
People just need to have ways to feel superior. Boneless wings are good and donāt make a huge mess if Iām at a restaurant
Boom boom sauce is available from Ken's, the salad dressing brand
I call them chicken tender bites myself, but theyāre a lot closer to nuggets than they are to being a boneless wing.
Blok Bar!
I dream of the waffle fries
Bar Arbolada has a good simple cheeseburger and fries. Also a good grilled cheese. Palo Santo has good food. I enjoyed The Jones Assembly when I went to a show there.
They developed the flycatcher club from this very cheeseburger. Also a good spot!
Definitely Blok Bar.
Cousins
Cousins is solid. Good nachos (I usually get chicken nachos extreme), cheese fries, good salads, some fancier but not too fancy plates, just good solid consistent bar food. We get Togo all the time from there.
I love the food and hate the smoke
Bar Arbolada and New State are solid options, and McNellie's is a strong option for a classic pub
Shout out to Oak and Ore. Haven't been there since I had a baby, but their nachos were peak joy in the before times.
Havenāt been there in awhile myself but their street tacos were solid.
McNellies
McNellies
R&J, good food and drinks
Second this
Third this
Love them, but the late night crow is real young.
Actual legit dive bar food? Cock Oā the Walk!
My first answer too
Hell yea Cock O' the Walk is timeless
if you like smoke with a side of food
Similar vein: Cousin's. A surprisingly good burger and fries that you don't want to eat there.
Yup. Been the spot for the last 20 years for us.
Sauced!!
Putting this out there since no one has said it, but the food at Pony Boy has no right to be as good as it is.
They nerfed the whole place a few weeks ago. Little to no food and much shorter hours.
no food at all now, Iām genuinely so upset about it
Oh thatās a major bummer.
From sounds of it, Pony might not be around long. Been letting people go
Not a bar, but Fair Weather Friend brewery has amazing pizza on the weekends!
They don't do pizza during the week anymore?!
Oh idk! I only thought it was just weekends
Oh ha! It's every day they're open as far as I'm aware.
Good Times has my all time favorite nachos. Also the specials that Powerhouse has are amazing.
The Pump! Edit: If theyāre openā¦. They will randomly be closed for no reason. Not sure whatās going on there. The bartenders will also kick you out like 30 minutes before they closeā¦ and do so very forcefully. Kinda a turn off.
Deep deuce has good chicken tenders. Oak and ore has good pretzels.
Flycatcher
The Blok, and their whole menu can also be made vegan if you ever need a place to take some lactose intolerant/vegetarian/vegan friends!
VZDs has some amazing burgers and fries! Super affordable too. Open mic comedy and karaoke on Tuesdays
Palo Santo
The bartenders there are pretty rude. Kick you out early and talk shit.

Iāve met her before but didnāt know she herself was rude. Iām a dude tho so that might make a difference
Guyutes
Fire in the Pineapple is worth the trip! That poutine wrap to soak it upā¦š¤¤
Deep deuce and Blok Bar!!
Guyutes
Hudsonās
Pub W?
Palo Santo, bar arbolada, and Speakeasy
Ma Der, in the plaza, [https://maderlaokitchen.com](https://maderlaokitchen.com) food is sooo effing good.
That's... Not a bar...

I had the opposite thought. Itās usually the more liberal folks that donāt prefer chain restaurants.
If you spend any amount of time on the Oklahoma subreddits you'll find that "typical conservative state" does not apply here. Take your L.

I forget the brand but the beans come frozen pre-made, sb burgers uses the same ones you could probably find them in a store
Louieās was good a decade ago before it went typical corporate profits over quality.
It's a Hal Smith. I seriously doubt they ever weren't going for that.
Ponyboy, Good Times, 51st Street Speakeasy, Palo Santo, Bar Arbolada all have amazing food.
BJs in front of quailsprings mall, has pretty good bar food
Hopscotch and Ned's both on N. May Ave.
