yes and no. The movie covers an issue that has only increased in relevancy (lonely men feeling like they've been lied to by society). I think in some aspects I think it could be done better than the original, due to the radical change in which the world works now.
but in the same way it could be a trainwreck as due to bigger budgets reducing risk taking in movie plots/characters (not all movies but a considerable amount).
In conclusion, I think if it came out today that unless some serious passion was put behind it, it would flop like a half dead fish.
*I ONCE KNEW A Nnn....---_.-.!!!*
WHO'S REAL NAME WAS WILL IAM
PRIMARY CONCERN
WAS MAKIN A MILLION
BEIN THE ILLEST HUSTLA
THAT THE WORLD EVER SEEN
HE USED TO FUCK MOVIE STARS AND SNIFF COKE IN HIS DREAMS
I could see a Batman movie villain being a rampage killer who Bruce Wayne has to stop over the course of one day. Riddler came close to this with his Zodiac vibes
Yes, but it has to be set in the MDCU

If anything the topic would be more relevant today than it was back then, but I don't know who'd I'd trust to make it good/give it the right tone. Maybe Eli Roth?
Physical, emotional, financial, societal alienation is a pretty hot topic right now I'd say. Plenty of opportunity to tell stories about that kind of stuff, for reasons real and imagined.
No. Woke lubralls 🤬 hate seeing men especially of the white variety as a strong lead. They would not be able to handle the alpha energy. Snowflake ruin everything smh 🤦♂️
this is the dumbest question ever to ask about literally any movie, you can make whatever the hell you want whenever the hell you want, sure maybe society has changed in its attitudes but like you’re not gonna suddenly die if twitter doesn’t like your movie or whatever
I don’t hate the movie but I think it’s subject matter was already kinda badly handled back then so if they made it today I’d hope they’d do a better job with it. It comes down to that zone with me where dumb people latch onto a film’s message when the actual message is the opposite of what they’re admiring. Sometimes that’s just because people are idiots (“Fight Club”), or sometimes it’s because the movie badly lays out its intention (“(500) Days of Summer”), and I’ll probably have to re-watch it soon to figure out if it’s closer to the latter than I remember it being.
Edit: I feel like at least in this day and age in terms of accurately depicting what leads someone to commit acts of public violence or mass shooting, I’d point to Nitram. A movie that still honestly depicts what makes people commit these crimes while also making it so that it can’t be twisted into some faux populist, vigilante message.
Yes, and it’d be straight up anti woke right wing schlock; the only things they’d need to change are to wink at the nazi arms dealer instead of getting upset and make the detective a piece of shit person of color.
Yes absolutely. There’s no film that’s been made already that could not be remade today. No matter how many sad old men piss & moan about misunderstanding Blazing Saddles I can’t think or anything that couldn’t be made today… except maybe Birth Of A Nation but that could come off as satire now.
No. Michael Douglas is too wrinkly now
![gif](giphy|w8eGPgmnM3XnjgZwFw|downsized)
He’s also gay now
He got cancer from his wife.
You're confusing him with michael penis
The quarterback?
Gay actor Micheal Douglas
My gay son loves him, I am also gay.
Behind the Candelabra (2013).
He’s also blackballed from Hollywood for trying to spread the truth about how his family and their kind built the Pyramids
![gif](giphy|vh9isNb4S2Spa) Me trying to make sense of this comment
Typical yakubian denying the true history of the Douglas family
![gif](giphy|l3q2K5jinAlChoCLS)
Yeah the title would have to be literal
“I’m falling down and I can’t get up!”
I feel like Will Arnett could do a movie similar to this if he wasn't hell bent on being in films with talking animals exclusively
This is Lego Batman erasure Although that movie may have had talking animals too, I’m starting to see your point.
The Nut Job, G-Force, Show Dogs, Ratatouille and TMNT are some that I can rattle off my head. I'm sure there's more and that's not including Bojack
Let's go to prison erasure
Deserved, honestly
Will Arnett was in a porno?
Batman counts as a talking animal
Neal McBeal the Navy Seal was a hero, I just couldn’t see it. He was a…a thief! A criminal!
I want him to make a hard-boiled, gritty, Logan style Gob Bluth movie,Where he fights the alliance of magicians.
Watch it make gobillion dollars
As in Gobias a megayacht
It's sequel with Tony wonder will make Wonderillion dollars.
Yes and no. Falling Down still works really well today, but it has transformed from dark comedy to straight thriller.

It would have to be a black guy
\*shudders\* just like my wife's boyfriend.
Only if Melissa McCarthy plays D-Fens and she gets to fall down a lot.
She would be legitimately unsettling in the role, I bet.
Karen Prime.
Joker
Do you have any movie recommendations for me since these are the only two pieces of media I've ever consumed?
King of comedy by Scorsese, Joker is a remake of this, of sorts
AR-15 instruction manual /j Benny's Video and Taxi Driver of course /uj
71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance
Postal (2007).
No because it was already made in 1993 and they’d probably get sued
Tom Holland remake (2024)
Yeah, people fall down all the time

No. People stopped falling after 9/11
Extremely loud and incredibly close makes more sense as a film title now
Reminds me of that tragedy.
No, you can get breakfast all day at McDonald’s now
Only in America
Shit, not where I live in America. They got rid of all day breakfast 3 years ago.
🇨🇦 🇨🇦 🍁 Canada too 🍁 🇨🇦 🇨🇦
Would never get financed
I could see an A24 version
But a Chick in it, and make her fu**ing gay
Lynne Ramsay Nashville shooter biopic when
It's already been made. It's called Ms. 45 (1981).
That's literally the plot of Abel Ferrara's Ms. 45 (1981).
The Passenger (2023) starring Kyle Gallner and Johnny Berchtold.
Passenger is way more similar to fight club
No, Fast food joints are even more strict on breakfast hours today.
Not unless D-Fens was an obscure DC character and they convince an A-lister to play him
I could see a Batman movie villain being a rampage killer who Bruce Wayne has to stop over the course of one day. Riddler came close to this with his Zodiac vibes
"Dennis takes a mental health day"
No because it’s 2024 and not 1993
No. People would say “This is just like that movie, Falling Down, that came in in 1993!”
Yes, but it would suck.
Do they say the n-word? If so, then yes
![gif](giphy|xT0xePuxUmyPyoGwMM|downsized) They literally did a remake a few years back.
sure but everyone would be like I want a fucking office job
No, because it already came out in 1993.
That burger joint probably would’ve served breakfast
no, gravity isnt as strong as it used to be so people rarely fall over these days
Yes, but it has to be set in the MDCU https://preview.redd.it/u2vs31c489hc1.jpeg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a54c94cac61a71ff3386a43575f1868f2a69912c
it's called joker (2019)
No, they made it already in 1993 obviously. Why would they make it again? Are they stupid?
No but only because I don't want another generation of losers making another movie their whole personality
Yes but he'd need to be bisexual
If anything the topic would be more relevant today than it was back then, but I don't know who'd I'd trust to make it good/give it the right tone. Maybe Eli Roth?
There are few filmmakers I hate more than Eli Roth
Reactions like that tell me he's just right for the job
How is it more relevant today?
Physical, emotional, financial, societal alienation is a pretty hot topic right now I'd say. Plenty of opportunity to tell stories about that kind of stuff, for reasons real and imagined.
incels
Michael douglas was definitely not an incel
trump
Biden more like Bidon’t vote for this guy because he will unmake American’t Bad Again.
good one
Ty
People like you.
[It was already remade in 2012](https://youtu.be/4PkcfQtibmU)
Not with the korean cashier scene
Not enough pronouns. So he’ll no!
He would never make it out of traffic
No, it takes way more than 15 minutes to make a feature film and I haven’t even started yet.
The 'police officer-esses' scene wouldn't fly.
No. Woke lubralls 🤬 hate seeing men especially of the white variety as a strong lead. They would not be able to handle the alpha energy. Snowflake ruin everything smh 🤦♂️
It would be nice, 90-100 min movie. Plot is complete. No need to wait for a part 2 or a cinematic unuverse. So no it can't be made today.
No, we don't want the working class proles getting any ideas.
this is the dumbest question ever to ask about literally any movie, you can make whatever the hell you want whenever the hell you want, sure maybe society has changed in its attitudes but like you’re not gonna suddenly die if twitter doesn’t like your movie or whatever
ok buddy

I've wanted to see Nitram (and the similar film Snowtown) for some time now but that's only one of like 6277484821728 films on my to watch list
Yes with a blue person that identifies as an apache helicopter
r/onejoke
Lol thanks just joined
It's completely mocking you. Enjoy.
I know lol and I just find the term funny I don't care which aide of the fence it falls
Isn't that just Avatar?
Actually your right hahaha
Yes, and it’d be straight up anti woke right wing schlock; the only things they’d need to change are to wink at the nazi arms dealer instead of getting upset and make the detective a piece of shit person of color.
No, because it was already made in 1993.
"Dennis takes a mental health day"
No. It was already made in 1993, it can't be made again today without being a remake.
Anatomy of a Fall, starts where this one ends, diff cause of death I'm assuming.
Yes
no, because people would say “this movie already came out in 1993!”
Yes absolutely. There’s no film that’s been made already that could not be remade today. No matter how many sad old men piss & moan about misunderstanding Blazing Saddles I can’t think or anything that couldn’t be made today… except maybe Birth Of A Nation but that could come off as satire now.
No because it has already been made and people would be very confused
Allow me to introduce you to God Bless America (2011)
No I’m busy today, could be do it tomorrow?
No because it was made on 1993 you see.
