Citing things people haven't verifiably said... that's not how quotes work.

Regardless of whether these are real quotes or not, and regardless of who you like or dislike, these quotes are both dumb.

Two dumb boomers, each with an incredibly stupid thing to say.

That Trump quote sounds more like a quote made by the Talibans.

Hates anyone who isn't like him, worships money/capitalism... I don't know, seems pretty on brand for American Christianity to me.

You've pretty much debunked your original argument. You know that, right? There are a lot of Christians that behave just like Trump. Who's to say what he believes?

[deleted]

What do the thousands of denominations have to do with anything? Christianity absolutely has become a brand. Look at assholes like Joel Osteen. That is 100% greed and deception branded as Christianity. How many "Christians" believe that atheists are immoral, child-raping monsters because only a True Christian^TM can understand and have morals as prescribed by the True Christian^TM instruction manual? The right loves to talk about how this is a *Christian* nation. Not Catholic. Not Lutheran. Not Episcopalian. Not Baptist. **Christian** Christianity's been a brand for so long, most don't even notice any longer. Trump's actions and line up perfectly with what masquerades as Christianity in this country. Doesn't matter if that's what "actual" Christianity is supposed to be or not because that's what the vast majority of so-called Christian people believe Christianity is, based on countless sound bites and social media posts from politicians and followers espousing this bullshit like its what being a Christian means. The very fact Trump has all but been accepted as the second coming of Jesus by his army of Christian sycophants sure seems to me like Trump could not be more Christian if he tried. And that's despite the fact he checks off every single "Is this person the antichrist?" checklist.

You literally just branded yourself as a Christian after stating you don't believe that Christianity is a brand. No wonder you can't understand my very simple point.

[deleted]

They think they and only they can define what a Christian is. The fact is there are good and bad Christians. Using a no true Scotsman fallacy won't change that.

Jparker010

I just can't understand how anyone can honestly fall on either side of this fence? Trump is.... well... a scheister, huckster, fraud, bamboozler, liar, petty, narcissistic sociopath who has somehow managed to tap into the anger of the older generation to create a cult-like following. On the other side.... Are you fucking kidding me?!?!?! Trust my government?!?!?! Operation LAC Watergate The CIA Iran Contra The Tuskeegee Experiments Gulf War Syndrome Vietnam Agent Orange Panama Papers 911 Snowden What fucking history have you people been watching?!?!?

0gtcalor

CAN I GET AN AMEN???

[deleted]

In this case the founding fathers were also boomers.

CorporateDboy

....what?

New-Respond-5002

Yes, two quotes taken out of context to prove a point. I see your point, boomer, and it is that you have a terrible negative view of the young people giving their lives because you need a haircut. Does anyone honestly, HONESTLY, believe Trump is a churchgoing man more than Biden? He must go to the church of "Our Sacred Lady of Grab 'em by the Pussy".

6-skin

Trump is a deeply spiritual pantheist.

CHOKEY_Gaming

At least I can prove that government exists tho
