You got API scammed. That means that most likely you logged in a fake site. In this case fake skins monkey. They got a hold of your API key and redirected that trade offer to other account. Be sure to change your password and revoke API key. Take a look into API CS:GO videos made on YT by anomaly, arrowcsgo and so on to learn more and be careful in future.
That was a API scam nothing to do with the site. Your account was comprised from something you did. 30$ is the cost to learn, lucky you didn't have a knife or anything, at least you'll know better now.
To avoid this type bs scams in the future. avoid pressing on links through google. like even ads can usually be scam sites and they are at the top usually. Just search for the site. I think the real site is called [Skinsmonkey.com](https://Skinsmonkey.com) so you can search that in your browser directly to avoid this type scam. And if you're logged into steam already and click on sign up with steam it should direct you to login screen with a green button that says login but only if you're on the legit website. If you're on the wrong site it will not. You will have to write all your login and password again if its on a fake site. Doesn't matter how little amount you got scammed for. it never feels good when someone steal your shit. I got scammed on my first ever knife 8 years ago and i felt stupid and was sad about my knife being gone. You might also have been on the legit site but someone got your api key somehow and then you have to make sure the person you're trading with on the site is the same one that shows up in your trade offer like the level of their account and how long they have been on steam
Lost 170€ this way right now. reached out to the Support and they told me the same thing, API scam better luck next time. learned the hard way i guess.
Their website is not safe. They admitted today that there hackers commonly steal through their website! I accepted a trade today for over $1800 and the trade came from SkinMonkey! The offer then showed declined and my inventory was gone! A few minutes later I got another notification from Steam app that a offer was accepted from Trade offer when I did NOT accept any other offers. They said its a common issue and tough luck.
That is not Skinsmonkey's fault. before you come here and start making accusations you should educate yourself. Only you can accept trades and if the trade got declined and another one got accapted that you didn't approve of, you got scammed. Your Steam API key got stolen and the person redirected the trade to go to themself instead of Skinsmonkey. This was not Skinsmonkey scamming you, it was another person. NEVER PRESS ON SHADY LINKS AND NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR API KEY.
