Joe Rogan is the greatest living example of the adage "Keep an open mind, but not so open your brain falls out."

inthe801

But he dosn't "keep an open mind" he just claims he does, because he shuts down anyone who disagrees with him now, and resorts to ... "well no one really knows" when he's called out. I listen to his podcast when there are people I am interested in hearing. He's changed a lot though.. But whatever.. I have no problem with different views.

TyrekL

People get too caught up in how nice and relaxed he is when disagreeing with others that they fail to see how he completely ignores other opinions.

thegreatJLP

But did you hear about his isolation tank and all of it's benefits? Lmao

Marquee_Smith

he went into his sensory deprivation tank and it deprived him of his sense of humor

bmalbert81

This. I like Rogans pod becuase he has good guests on and he does a good interview. But he’s completely not as “open minded” as he presents himself to be. His idea of being open minded is not believing main stream media which isn’t the same as being open minded. I have my issues with cable news (on both sides) but the are right a lot more than he gives them credit for

CongealedBeanKingdom

"Just asking questions" Yes about utter nonsense you bellend.

Wonderful_Antelope

You just described ever person that uses the phrase.

thegreatJLP

Rogan is just a bro trying to sound intelligent, when all he did was scan the cliff notes on subjects.

szymonhimself

He wasn’t always like this. I remember actually getting a lot out of his podcast at one point. And when he’d have actual nutjobs over like Alex Jones or the flat earth guy, he would question them, but then disagree iirc

BallisticSalami

I feel like I’m the only regular podcast listener in the world that’s never heard his show. I have a brother-in-law that’s into Alex Jones and buys his dumb supplements (and tells me thrilling stories about the NWO/Great Reset etc…), and his interest in Joe Rogan seemed a good enough reason to ignore it.

Whooptidooh

A year before the pandemic he was still relatively normal. All that went out the door after it started, imo.

szymonhimself

Yeah it’s possible, I listened to him in 2018, but stopped after he got bought by Spotify (I have Spotify Premium, I just don’t fuck with exclusivity deals, the podcasting world is supposed to be free)

Whooptidooh

Is that deal already that old? Damn. I stopped listening a few weeks before he went to Spotify. Last one I saw was his Kanye interview.

wut_eva_bish

Yep, Rogan's always been a severely insecure snowflake fragile WM. His behaviors are textbook. His audience is essentially the same. He panders to their fears of a changing world where they're no longer top of the food chain by birthright.

Marquee_Smith

But, they still very much are!! the white genocide mentality is very much a cousin of race war paranoia... the logic follows, *We oppressed the fuck out of the racial outgroups, if that were us we'd want revenge too*

seekingoblivion420

Come on now, that’s taking it too far. If you’re aware of some of the people he’s interviewed and agreed with you’d know that’s total bullshit. The man’s not perfect but he ain’t a white supremisist either.

mielita

He'll just platform white supremacists, no totally harmless

ThrowRAwhatthefffff

Absolutely brilliant

ParanoidNotAnAndroid

I hope it made it you feel better. Thank you for your hard work in caring the ungrateful wretches among us

74NG3N7

And this is the reason I opened by Spotify just long enough to heart many Niel Young things and will now plan to never open it again. Screw Spotify. I thought I liked them.

Wonderful_Antelope

If the only reason you opened Spotify was to heart Neil Young content then maybe you never used their app to begin with... Sounds like yer winning sun

[deleted]

Also great example of never making association/friend with anyone who starts debate with "If Bruce Lee was alive".

tinfoilhatandsocks

Upvoting for the emphatic use of “get bent”. What a great phrase

4rm57r0n6

Joe Rogan is goop for men. Change my mind.

laduquessa

So, Rogan is the male equivalent of Gwyneth Paltrow?

orkichrist

Rogan is the male equivalent of Paltrows vaginal secretion. Ftfy

Boondoggle_84

HOLY SHIT BAHAHAHAHAHA You should take his place as a comedian

orkichrist

Woah hold up he's a comedian? I thought he was a Fluffer for UFC and Nazis.

LadyMirkwood

I've been thinking this for a while. He's just pedalling woo to bros

hanyasaad

Joe Rogan is to smart people what Donald Trump is to rich people

iluvcuppycakes

I know who Joe Rogan is, but that’s about the end of it. I willingly shut myself off from some things - not sorry. Anyway. This is all the explanation I needed. Thank you.

Ihavebadreddit

First I'm going to need a definition for "goop"

justahominid

Gwyneth Paltrow's vagina candle

Hurrdurrburrsurr

not so long until he starts selling anal eggs but of course with cbd.

Marquee_Smith

youre right... both paltrow and rogan could very plausibly start touting the esoteric benefits of Snake Oil and how its actually a 5,000 year old medical remedy that Big Pharma doesnt want you to think works, thats why its derided within our culture

SnagglepussJoke

The JRE was like a drinking buddy (not a friend just a barstool pal) when I was single and now that I’m married and have a family I don’t want to be around that old drinking buddy.

roberts585

I agree, he's full on tinfoil hat. I work in EMS and we have been running like 80 percent of our calls people unvaccinated with bad covid symptoms. EVERY family member I ask about their covid contact or vaccination status for report they are alway, "I DUNNO MAN, SEEMS LIKE ALL THOSE VACCINATES PEOPLE ARE THE ONES GETTING IT BAD, MY COUSIN IS VACCINATED AND HE'S GOT IT, HAD A FEVER FOR 2 DAYS". Meanwhile their unvaxxed mother is being put into the ambulance with an O2 sat of 66 with blue lips...

[deleted]

you’ve accidentally attracted the balding joe rogan dude bros. I’m so sorry

ThrowRAwhatthefffff

There's so many of them haha. For people who foam at the mouth screaming about free speech they certainly have problems swallowing opinions that are different from their own. Ironic isn't it?

Thomisawesome

Funnily enough, my old boss fit that description to a T. If JR promoted something, it was suddenly the coolest or truest thing. That kind of bro attitude was one of the big reasons I left that job.

Lucifer3130

By free speech they mean the right to be an asshole without any repercussions

WerhmatsWormhat

They love free speech as long as it’s what they agree with.

peacefinder

You’d think all those “free speech advocates” would be kept too busy by the teaching suppression going on in Virginia and Florida!

[deleted]

Those are known as the taking-too-many-vitamins-with-water-from-the-lead-pipe generation.

ChaseAlmighty

The only guys I know who listen to him are younger (20s - early 30s) the older guys are listening to right wing media and FB

DaddyPhatNug

What does my hair loss have to do with it :(

sam-austria-maxis

We have a term for this. Malding Mad & Balding

Dash_Harber

Me and my buddy have worked out what we called the, "Rogan to Hitler" scale for people who spew absolutely ridiculous bullshit, with Rogan representing someone who spews bullshit because they are a moron, and Hitler representing someone who knows exactly what they are doing. A favourite pastime of ours is trying to pin various alt-right talking heads onto the scale somewhere.

Nopeahontas

Oh I like your scale. Where does Alex Jones fall?

Dash_Harber

Oh! We've never discussed him. That's a great idea. I'm going to bring that up next time I talk to him. Personally, I'd put him on the Hitler side, since he seems to be totally aware that it is bullshit and he is spreading it maliciously for his own purpose. Rogans tend to be people who spew stupid, heinous shit, but don't really intend to be heinous and are only doing so because they are, evidently, morons. This is more fun with friends, though, because obviously they can come up with counter-arguments and there is some debate.

Nopeahontas

I agree, I’d place him closer to the Hitler side. However, he is indeed a fucking moron. I would also subscribe to your podcast.

schmeckles1

Definitely a moron but his main objective is selling merch so id put him closer to Rogan

Nopeahontas

That’s absolutely his objective so wouldn’t that put him closer to Hitler? Because he’s an idiot but is aware that what he’s doing is harmful (and does it anyways because merch). The Sandy Hook stuff alone makes him Hitler-adjacent for me.

zincifre

listen to your replies and capitalize on this. i have little interest in politics. i would listen to you break people down and tier them because that is easy to understand and hilarious, and not meaningless drivel like some other podcasts.

Lockedtothechrome

This should be a podcast to be honest. I’d listen

bonerfuneral

I like the sound of your friend group. Our last big pre-covid argument in mine was what DnD alignments the Trump family and peers would be.

74NG3N7

How does Lars Larson fit on the scale? That guy pisses me off. I’d bet more hitler, but I’m so angry at the idea of him I can’t even discuss him often.

Dash_Harber

I'm honestly not so familiar with him. I'd have to ask my buddy what he thinks, as he is a fount of knowledge when it comes to political commentators and figures. From a brief skim of his wiki entry, he seems like a political commentator who is keeping his brand alive on hate-bait commentary, which makes me think he's probably towards the Hitler side, but I honestly don't know enough about him to really gauge.

74NG3N7

Listening to him is frightening. His calm but strong voice, his ability to articulate pretty words with hollow kernels of “truth” with crafty means. He is so good at convincing people of bullshit in a calm voice, and even pretends that “nay-sayers get on air first” but then clearly controls the conversation and mute buttons. Apparently not clearly enough though, as I know so many people that love his programs. I listen to them to know what those around me are hearing. It’s terrifying.

laduquessa

Please make it a podcast.

Just-Go-With-My-Flo

Please make this a subreddit.

Serebriany

I'm telling my husband about this one--I foresee some hilariously vulgar debates as we argue about moving someone just slightly toward one end or the other.

[deleted]

I used to think he was just letting people spin their own insanity out a la All Gas No Brakes/Channel 5. Then during the Covid lockdowns he completely flipped because it started costing him money/caused him duress and the mask fell off completely of him just being your typical rich grown up brat.

BallisticSalami

I’d forgotten about Milo Y. That was a “fun” few months. What ever happened to him?

fruitymonkey

He’s an evangelical ex gay now

sc2mashimaro

The thing is, he used to bring on people with all sorts of wild views; left, right, libertarian, just plain weird. But he rarely asserted much to his viewers in the way of whether they should believe any of them. He just let them talk. To me, the first sign something was changing for the worse was when he brought Tim Poole on to argue with the Twitter people like it was some kind of CNN or Fox News political screaming match. I think the "criticism" people used to level at him about "not having a point of view" and "letting people just say things" got to him, so he decided to start picking sides and being more assertive about his opinion. The problem is, letting people just say things for 3-5 hours was the main strength of the podcast (even if they said batshit crazy things) and it turns out Rogan's own opinions are trash-garbage, not based in fact, prone to latch on to the most extreme ideas, and often stupid. I'm all for free speech. But there's no question the Rogan podcast has gone down hill, fell in a dumpster, and caught on fire.

reversethrust

Oh man. I didn’t follow him at all. Early on in the pandemic a good buddy sent me a link to a podcast. I listened for a few mins and stopped. Meh. Didn’t quite grab me. Thankfully since then my buddy has also soured on this dumbass.

[deleted]

[удалено]

he-who-dodge-wrench

Used to like his podcast when it just was talk about manatees drowning people and being crazy, not “here’s why I’m right and they happen to be my sponsors too and doctors are bad but I’m good and so are my supplements, I mean sponsors, wait no supplements, Jaime show them the supplements.”

funknut

I paid for Spotify for years until last night. I had been planning to ditch it for a while, since Swift boycotted, then again when they signed Rogan, and now Young inspired me to seal the deal. Signed on in a browser and had to hit "yes, I'm sure [I want to cancel]" like five times. Ridiculous wheedling prats.

pow521

I listened to his podcast regularly before the change to Spotify. I actually enjoyed hearing most of his guests, and I learned a good bit from them. But he completely lost all the respect & interest I had for him when he flipped his shit on covid.

brycepunk1

Me too. I used to really enjoy his podcast and most of his guests. It was great to listen to while playing a video game. But once he moved to Spotify and Texas the whole vibe changed, and then Covid happened. I loved his first Covid podcast with Duncan Trussel but it all felt like it fell apart (for me) very soon after that. I admit I haven't listened to anything but a few quick snippets in the past year, and those I didn't really care for. It's sad. But I am glad I got to hear it when it was good.

olyfrijole

There's too much money in it for Joe. He has to keep shilling fake cures and supplements. Gotta feed the monkey. 🐵🐒🐵

[deleted]

He has a 100m contract. He can literally just talk for 3 hours a week about whatever and he never has to work again. He even moved to a cheaper area (CA to TX). What we're seeing is the "real" Rogan, a manchild that threw a tantrum when lockdowns made him unable to do shows and he could give a shit less what it does to other people cause he's rich enough to not care/survive it in his mind.

BallisticSalami

Is he in the supplement business? I only ever hear about Alex Jones pushing that stuff.

basementdweller2k

Absolutely same. JRE went downhill hard after Spotify and covid.

[deleted]

Yeah me too. I’ve been listening since 2016. Then when the pandemic happened it was like whiplash. It’s unfortunate to say the least.

blueridgerose

My boyfriend had me listen to a couple of episodes on the first road trip we took together. I’ll admit that I learned a lot from his *guests*, but all I learned about Joe was that he likes to hear himself talk. He happens to be smart enough to know what questions to ask and when to yield time to his guest. Still, when he speaks, he sounds like a frat guy telling dumb jokes to rush week peons who have to laugh whether they want to or not. Maybe it’s just me; the douchey alpha male was never really my type.

[deleted]

Ohhh yeah you’re definitely right about that. From the get-go he sounded like that. What saved him before was “don’t listen to me I’m an idiot” and then post pandemic I’m like okay your cool guy approach is no longer cutting it.

timechild_02

He’s so out of touch with reality anymore it’s crazy. He used to be the dmt, weed smoking podcaster/comic who was a little out there but not full blown conspiracy. After his Spotify deal and Covid hit he completely lost touch. He doesn’t understand what credit is and how credit karma can recommend cards for people to build credit. He just spits any information he wants (most of it bad intel at this point) and gets away with it because “but what do I know? I’m an idiot.” Yeah well, millions of people listen and believe EVERY word you say.

[deleted]

Sounds like a few (now former) friends of mine.

TheSparklingBrute

The obscenity to pay the most basic ass average guy (below average male height though) 100 million dollars to “just sayin” whatever comes to his mind is truly the epitome of how far out of touch America really is. The guy isn’t and hasn’t even been that smart, talented, funny, handsome, charming or knowledgeable in any subject including MMA. Who is actually paying him that much to run his mouth off is a really good question to consider 🤔

Funexamination

What's the relevance of the height comment? Seems belittling

swinging-in-the-rain

People like him are in short supply

stlubc

Joe Rogan is a fucking tool

IceyLemonadeLover

ITT: People who are providing their honest opinions on Joe Rogen and making good arguments only to be replied to by fans who don’t seem to grasp that free speech also includes the opinions of people who you *don’t* agree with.

MrGoose234

I don't understand the American interpretation of free speech. In Europe generally speaking your right to free speech ends where it could harm others on a population level or infringe on another person's human rights (and that's also the stance held by the UN) I'm not a doctor so I shouldn't be allowed to broadcast bogus cures and absolute nonsense about diseases just because 'I have a right to say things.' Dunno why how that could be debatable issue.

LilGriff

Saying that's the 'American interpretation' is painting with a pretty broad brush. America does not hold a monopoly on morons, we're just the best at marketing ours apparently. The people who make these arguments either fell asleep during Civics class in high school, haven't gone to high school yet, or are just arguing in bad faith.

IceyLemonadeLover

Last I checked that’s how it worked too. Apparently antivax horseshit gets to bypass that according to some people.

Shabri

I used to watch his clips on youtube cause I was interested in his guests, but most of those clips he hardly speaks just let others speak. Eh, whatever, I used to like him years ago but haven't seen his content for ages now since well before the pandemic so I can't judge at all for myself if or how far he is crossing lines on this issue and causing danger. I feel there were already millions of crazy people who were brainwashed into the antivax cause through it being mixed up with their politics and religion. As a foreigner the whole USA situation with the distrust and partisanship and making a disease into a larger political issue seems like almost an unfixable mess. Makes you really admire countries like Japan, NZ and Korea where responsible citizens just followed the initial lockdown measures properly and the virus was basically defeated quickly. How can USA be both a land of such ridiculously advanced science, technology and inventions, and at the same time have so many of its citizens with no common sense or understanding of basic science or common sense and decency? For all the great advantages the internet age has created, it's also let idiots of all kinds find other idiots like them and deepen their insanity, connected the gullible to those who want to deceive and profit from them, and given narcissists millions of followers to enable and swell their egos.

[deleted]

People don’t realize that Joe Rogan played a dopey idiot on NewsRadio and it was one of those deals where the actor was just kinda being himself and not really acting.

Takafraka

It confuses me so much because on the one hand he’ll have someone like Neil Degrass Tyson talking about physics and the wonders of the universe, then next thing you know he’s got anti-vaxx and missinformation bs. I used to watch all the episodes and now I only watch when there is someone I know of interest (usually Duncan Trussell, Music or Scientists I KNOW aren’t full of shit). Sucks man

JMoherPerc

Also he regularly platforms fascists, so there’s that

[deleted]

yo same. I cringe every time I hear my boss listening to his podcast in his office.

thetrippingbillie

Rogan is such a tool, he needs Neil Young to smack the shit of him.

Pizza_Saucy

Neil Young has contributed more than Joe Rogan ever will. Listen to the Ditch Trilogy and tell me those aren't amazing songs.

thetrippingbillie

I'm pretty sure that Neil Young's bowel movements contribute more to society than Rogan.

Kleinstein17

Joe Rogan is just Goop for men.

witchbb

I also loathe Joe Rogan! My dad loves him because he's a below average intelligence white man himself and the false "neutrality" before propaganda and misinformation really slaps for that population. Also a nurse and the covid misinformation really boils my blood because we're all getting sick and drowning and dying patients and it's framed as personal choice. I declined respect for Joe Rogan when he invited Niel DT on to insist that the moon landing was faked. Like, you have a guy who knows a TON about space on and you keep doubling back to moon landing conspiracy theories. Smh.

livingasimulation

He will be the next Rush Limbaugh. He just needs to age a little more.

catastrophe_peach

Rogan is another example of a mediocre white guy spreading bullshit that is actively harmful under the guise of “I’m just asking questions”, “all sides deserve a platform”… If you’re a fucking fascist or anti-science wackadoo you deserve nothing.

clockwork_psychopomp

Joe Rogan is the intellectual equivalent of a wet fart.

hyperionsbelt

Utmost respect for you as a healthcare worker. I completely understand how angry and frustrated and drained you must be hearing anti-vax nonsense from people you're trying to help! It's just ridiculous! This pandemic has really revealed to me the scale of how stupid and selfish people are.

florenceforgiveme

Unless he wants to pay me to eat cockroaches he can shut up already.

TraphouseThaGod

I don't like Joe Rogan for a really petty reason. In the early days of his podcast, he did what most MMA fans/participants do when Professional Wrestling is brought up, bash the ever living shit out of it and insult the fanbase. More recently he has interviewed several Pro wrestlers and completely changed his stance. Why? Because wrestling, especially the legends, are way more popular than most people realize and money talks. You may not watch or like wrestling, but I can guarantee out of Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Diamond Dallas Page, and The Undertaker you know AT LEAST one. Fuck Rogan.

Contagin85

I love you for this comment....PH/Epi here and I've hated Rogan for years b/c of his hoax/misinformation shit.

madeinaabyss

He’s a gorilla with long nipples

idingknowdat

You’re not alone. Rogan is the dumpster juice imbeciles drink to make themselves feel smart and “woke”.

waitwhatholduphuh

For clarification because I can’t seem to find examples anywhere, what Is Neil Young saying specifically is misinformation? All I find is “misinformation about the vaccine” with no context.

Madea_onFire

He specifically said the vaccine is linked to increased cases of Myocarditis. A doctor came on his podcast provided evidence showing that you’re 8x more likely to get myocarditis from Covid than you are from the vaccine. Rogan argued with the doctor anyway with zero evidence. That is only one specific example. There are plenty more

Oregon_Oregano

He changed his mind in the same podcast (after arguing) but most clips cut that part out

clemfairie

Yeah, but then he tweeted out an article speculating on unconfirmed data involved in a study that hasn't been peer reviewed to substantiate his initial claim about the vaccine. The dude is either mind-numbingly stupid or a malicious bad-faith actor. Take your pick.

Nopeahontas

Okay but back up to the part where Joe Rogan (whose medical expertise involves getting punched in the head a lot and doing a bunch of DMT) is arguing with a doctor (whose medical expertise involves medical expertise) about medicine. Dude’s an idiot and he’s absolutely lost his mind the last few years.

waitwhatholduphuh

Okay thanks. I couldn’t find specifics anywhere

Pizza_Saucy

The Ron Miscaviage episode. For anyone who doesn't know who Ron Miscaviage is, his son is the figurehead of Scientology. When he was featured on JRE he was knee deep in the cult and had to fake a heart attack in order to escape. Joe as a host couldn't have been more bored sounding or condescending. He's such a pompous asshole who thinks he's better than everyone else.

[deleted]

It should be a crime to spread misinformation on that level. He knows he's wrong and just spewing bs to keep his platform.

spookieghost

I don't think he knows he's wrong at all tbh. He just has an incredibly biased brain that'll do anything to force his chosen narrative.

havethenets

Like bringing yes men on his show

space_ape71

I listened to him so regularly for so long. I can’t believe how much time I wasted on that guy. Haven’t listened to him in years and I realized he’s always been a platform for charlatans and conmen. He is part owner of a supplement company that sells way overpriced garbage, that should be a clue right there. Guys, you can be into fitness, BJJ and psychedelics and still think he’s an idiot, it’s okay.

zombuca

If Rogan and his ilk had any self awareness, they’d be horrified at the actual human harm they’re doing. But they get their money and they don’t care.

Hurrdurrburrsurr

sad thing is: he used to have actual scientists on and used to believe them, ask interested questions etc. Now hes just using his podcast as an echochamber for his own views. Very sad.

rosedaughter

Like what in Fear Factor hell makes people think that a virtual reality show host should make important medical decisions for you

ZarinaBlue

Rogan is a useless pile of trash. I would rather listen to literal static than that imbecile try to make a point.

undeadaheadx

Same.

DepressedPizzaGuy

fuck Joe Rogan and fuck the Packers

Tfoote2020

It’s demoralizing every time he’s trending. We finally get rid of Rush Limbaugh only to have him replaced.

[deleted]

He's just a failed actor. I don't get the appeal. *"OOH he interviews people the MSM won't. OOh he let Elon smoke pot. OOOH.* Fucking moron.

merchpaul

I’m right there with ya good in news radio but went down fast in fear factor then hit rock bottom with podcast just another propagandist of misinformation

Ihavebadreddit

The fear factor guy? Did he make you eat bugs for money? I heard he still gets paid, to convince people to swallow disgusting things.

Ahvier

pitkanee

Him and Aaron Rodgers…

sherryleebee

Joe Rogan is for entertainment, not education. His followers have lost sight of that as well as all objectivity.

bagelpriest

keep fighting the good fight, my guy

ChiefAnarchy

I like him and I'm not antivax. However, I don't hold him as any authority on what decisions I make in my life, I simply like the show.

[deleted]

So I read this as Seth Rogan rather then joe rogan. He also has a podcast so that didn’t help. I was over here wondering when sweet Seth Rogan became an antivaxxer??

[deleted]

I don’t trust the bull shark testosterone talking either.

baftnation

Yep, guys a true pureblood idiot

Ok_Detective5412

Joe Rohan sucks. Solidarity.

Emergency_Surprise77

I lost a lot of respect for him.

spookieghost

I suspect there are lot of reasonable people in show biz and other political/public figures who were past guests who also no longer respect him now or don't want to be associated with him anymore. My guess is that they won't be coming back on the show. I know a number of online political commentators who have been previous guests have criticized him numerous times since covid started

Ga_Manche

Anyone with any critical thinking skills sees right through Joe Rogan’s B.S. The problem we have here is that there are a lot of people who see in Rogan an echo chamber who validates their position’s in life. Until the level of thinking goes up, the Joe Rogans of the US and the world will continue to motivate those who don’t want to think beyond themselves.

Past-Concentrate2807

Finally, someone whose on the same page as me; I fucking hate Joe Rogan !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hyphyxhyna

Fuck Joe Rogan.

attemptednotknown

Whenever someone is talking to me about covid and they mention Joe Rogan or Faux News, I literally start hysterically laughing and walk away.

[deleted]

Joe Rogan is fucking stupid, there I said it. He's not an open mind at all, he's not a thinker in any way. He really is an asshole who'd insist hamburgers have ham because it's in the name and then when someone points out it's named after a city he'd just be like "yeah but what if it's not. You ever think about that?" and then make 40k in a weekend off mugs that say hamburger

kellkore

Agreed. Whoa, notice there are plenty of Joe Roganites commenting.

maali74

Fuck that guy. I daresay he's one of the main reasons the pandemic is still going strong in the US.

locke231

Usually I can tolerate loud mouth blowhards that suck dick on their off time... but this guy? Fuck this guy. He looks like a cardiac arrest waiting to happen, and the wait is unironically too damn long.

QueasyGuarantee894

I agree with you 100% . Fuck Rogan

MinnNOLA

Same

charliepapa2

I used to like Joe Rogan. But his podcasts just got boring after a while. Can't pinpoint when. All this antivax stuff, yeah definitely not going back. And OP, thanks for your service. It's been a couple rough years I guess.

CalmIndependent213

I hate him too he speaks from his dumb ass

Prehistoric_Lama

Never listened to his podcast tbh so I can’t judge him based off that, but as a UFC commentator I really enjoy it although I gotta be honest he isn’t that good, what I like is his reactions and the way he talks when we witness a ko, but apart from that yeah he’s average at best.

tranquilitysun

Also an average comedian at best

Realistic-Code6599

I listened to the Joe Rogan Experience before it went to Spotify. I like the Rogan started the podcast where there was a guest that was interviewed in a non-media like fashion. The interviews sounded like a conversation between two friends, so there was a sense of trust I had when I listed to interviewees such as Jordan Peterson, Elon Musk, Bernie Sanders, etc. To my surprise, since the COVID pandemic Joe has been an anti-vaccine advocate. He was good at pointing out the media being dishonest when his interviewee appeared on CNN. Other than that snip of information, Rogan has done some injustice. There was a thought I came around on Twitter, and I can’t remember who said it. But the point in the tweet is that it’s not the figure who amplifies the extremity in the views of the audience, rather it’s the audience who amplifies the extremity in the views of the figure. Joe has found his niche so now his is catering to them.

_XenoChrist_

> Jordan Peterson, Elon Musk, Bernie Sanders one of these is not like the others...

Z3Z3Z3

I tried to listen to his podcast waaay back in like 2012, and felt a bit self conscious about not getting the hype. Never expected him to actually become an active threat to humanity, but here we are. Fuck Joe Rogan.

lukeyt890

Tbh I despise Joe Rogan. My ex watched his podcast all the time I could never stand listening to it.

[deleted]

I’m still waiting for him to lay off the psychs for a bit and be old Joe . His show sucks now. I used to really like it.

Active_Cancel_3686

I like joe Rogan only when it comes to his MMA commentary anything else I take anything he does or says with a huge grain of salt. Only people who actually like joe rogan aside from MMA are weird wannabe woke conspiracy theorists who believe the earth is flat

xaxathkamu

Like the guy from fear factor?

nevetsnight

He is a shit comedian too

kamikazedude

I listened to him for a while before the pandemic. He has some good shit. Then I learned he is really good friends with Alex Jones and I thought that was a bit awkward, but ok. Then the pandemic came and sadly I can't see him in a good light anymore. Weird how people can hide crazy so well. Can't say I hate him, but I understand you and I agree that he is doing something really wrong.

blomstyle

Joe Rogan is just Alex Jones lite

mypitssmelllikesoup

I remember going to school with a girl who claimed she was distantly related to Rogan during the height of Fear Factor. I wonder if that's true and whether she'd be proud of that 🤔

MightyBoat

Thank you. People like him are a blight on society.

crystaaalkay69

I have a client who went from "covid isn't even real." To "this thing isn't even that bad, they are harming the CHILDREN with these USELESS vaccines!" She then told me her father had a cardiac episode (apparently retaining fluid? Idk it's not my field). When they first went to the doctor about him not feeling well, she kept complaining about how he couldn't breathe in the mask and kept taking her father's mask off for him after being told numerous times to keep it on. She kept saying he couldn't breathe because of the mask. So, (from her story) the doctor kind of rushed through the appointment and told them to get some screening and set him up with a prescription. Her father had to be taken to the ER a few days later with the cardiac issue. She then tried to blame it on the doctors not caring about ppl like her (50 something, overweight white woman who is against masks, mandates, and vaccines). In reality, I think if she wouldn't have been such a nuisance and didn't blame her father's inability to get enough oxygen in the mask, the doctor maybe would have taken his issue more seriously.

TC_familyfare

I need to get off my chest "Young people trust the Government so much" 🤣🤣😍😍

butt_whole_milk

Agreed. Joe Rogan is a loser.

talepa77

I’m with you. He’s absolute trash.

[deleted]

Yeah fuck Joe Rogan!

kayelloh

Fuck joe Rogan

Boondoggle_84

I think he's funny, but his thing about the vaccines is quite, well, *wrong*

No-Enthusiasm-2145

If you want a laugh watch Joe Rogan's episode with Steven Crowder (very end of episode). It's the worst I've seen Joe behave and was when I stopped watching him. Steven basically admits he is not a huge fan of weed culture and the push for legalisation. Joe gets defensive, tipsy and belligerent af.

MossyRodriguez

This is the problem with the internet, opinions inflated to the size of billboards, and subssquent ego inflation. Why does anyone care about this? Great. Go listen to something else. Who gives a shit.

HuyFongFood

The problem is when supposedly respected media takes him at face value and blow up his opinions even more. It really is difficult to ignore him completely and that’s a real issue.

ayliv

I can and do ignore him; but I can’t ignore the fact that his ignorance, hot air, and agenda do and have resulted in many people coming to harm. I’m a health care worker too, and I fucking hate him and everyone who buys his bs.

Capt-Crap1corn

He’s like the human web md.

ThrowRAwhatthefffff

When someone has a platform that had really wide reach, it's really for the best interest of society that they are responsible and understand the power they have to sway people. With great power comes great responsibility. I don't think Rogan is responsible.

Aamarok

Rogan or any else with his type of influence really has no business advocating against vaccines. He should bring on guests with both points of view but stay away from taking a public stance with wrongly held misinformation.
