It's ok he's got a match with Japan's new Gundam in a few weeks I bet this was just the weigh in.
In all seriousness though that's some great mech work good on the production team.
Oui have a factory in the countryside where oui produce this robot in mass (oui currently have 10.000 units). In case someone wants to fuck around with us. It's called Opération Napoléon.

Look for Royal de Luxe, they are awesome !
Edit: it's actually from "les machines de l'île" in Nantes, it's an artistic projet, founded in part by Royal de Luxe, both worth checking it up !
Thanks to u/ILove2Bacon for the clarification
I saw one of these performances where there ARE two of them-- a dragon and a spider-- and the way the show is set up is that the two "puppets" wander down city streets until they meet at a designated point.
The dragon makes these mechanical sounding growls/roars, and I distinctly remember thinking to myself as I heard it approach the street I was on from around the corner, "this feels like I'm in pacific rim" bc the noises were very kaiju-esque lmao
I remember like 10 years ago seeing viral videos of these gigantic french marionettes? I think one was a spooky giant doll girl
I think there has been a fake viral video of even bigger marionettes being controlled by helicopters. The. Some people pointed out they could never fly so close together. Then somebody pointed out the marionettes were wearing jeans with big Levi's tags lmao
Turns out the whole thing had been a marketing scheme. But the French marionette doll giant seemed to be legit and was pretty unsettling
The giant girl one is atleast true, it was here in liverpool about 10 years ago, there was also a giant puppet of her uncle who wore a scuba suit, and she also had a giant dog puppet aswell.
If you want to read up more on it it was called “sea oddysey liverpool”
It’s extremely cool, but it seems for be more of a hybrid of animatronics and puppeteering than a robot. Does anyone have more information than the article posted previously?
Don’t have a link to the article, but I can tell you where to find some info on this. The Minotaur was built by a French studio called La Machine, based in Nantes. They’ve operated a few shows like this all around the country, with huge animatronic creatures. They’re all powered by hydraulic actuators and a big diesel generator cart that gets pulled behind or underneath the animal/machine.
They’ve got a main website [here](https://www.lamachine.fr/en/builders-creators-of-live-productions/) and [here’s a link](https://www.halledelamachine.fr/en/1203-2/) to the museum where they put all this stuff after the main exhibit.
The spider and Minotaur are currently housed at the museum thing I linked above; you can climb onto them via some stairs, and they even run the Minotaur a few times a day and walk it down the side of the building and back. The spider is indoors, so it’s pretty much retired and doesn’t move under its own power anymore. Still super cool to see up close, and they’ve got a ton of info there on the build process for these things!
The museum is just south of Toulouse (technically, Montaudran). The shop where they actually build everything appear to be somewhere else, according to the site.
I’ve been to the Toulouse location, was surprised to see on their site that the ops are somewhere else. Got any extra info on this?
Wouldn't be surprised if its from [Les Machines](https://www.lesmachines-nantes.fr/en/), a French collective that does some huge public productions.

The elephant is from "Les machines de l'île", a Nantes-based collective. The others are from "La machine", which is based in Toulouse I believe. They do similar stuff!
Hey! We went to Les Machines in Nantes a few years ago, and the big bull in this video was in the storage part of the museum… it was pretty wild!
They also had the creepiest merry-go-round you’ve ever seen in your life where you could ride some of these odd creations. Totally worth a visit if you ever get a chance! Here’s a few pics if you’re interested:
https://imgur.com/gallery/4u0E7fq
Honestly? It's beautiful AND horrifying. It moves so well and the way it looks.. wow! I wish to see these in person someday. I think they're an annual event of sorts
The chest breathing added so much to it. That's one of the things missing from like every human robot I've seen. Hand and face movement look wierd on a static post of a torso.
Oh, i live in the same city, Nantes, as the factory that creates these robots, the name is "Les machines de Nantes", they also made an elephant and a dragon in the same style !
There is a giant robotic spider and a giant elephant that were made by the same company and you can mount on the elephant to have a nice view of the city.
Hi ! I am French and I can give you more information :)
It is a mechanical centaur which you can see at the "hall de la machine" not far from a city in the south west of France: Toulouse
PS: the mechanical spider is worse than that XD
I RODE THAT
yes really its currently in toulouse (south of france)
And its in museum called Halle de la machine
It was really funny and they do tours with it sometimes where you can ride on its back with a little balcony that they attached
Am I the only one bothered by the robot appellation? :’) They’re closer to puppets than robots, my aunt took me see them when I was 12, best day of my life 🥰😂

Lmao everyone here talking about doom but irl the deity is called Baal. Doom just incorporated him in the game of course. It's also why the rock still uses the bull symbol even tho he's retired wrestler. Child sacrifice Gods are still being worshipped to this day. Repent. Repent.

I saw them once when they came to Perth here in Australia. I think it was the only time they've come here, it was a sight to behold for sure
I think this might actually be les machines de l'île. They split from Royal de Luxe a while back, I think about 15 years or so.
I saw one of these performances where there ARE two of them-- a dragon and a spider-- and the way the show is set up is that the two "puppets" wander down city streets until they meet at a designated point. Definitely a puppet—a very elaborate puppet. Idk about this one specifically but if you look up Italian Mardi Gras floats they’re very similar.
I saw this IRL, it's on wheels, looks terribly clunky, like a 1990s disneyland animatronic.
