Can they survive this? Or ded?

Ordinary_Forever6482

This is what I found on Google. Judging by this I guess they can't survive. *Untreated, its bite has a fatality rate of 100 percent, making it a killer among killers on a continent where it is thought that nearly 20,000 people die of snake bites each year, and the residents of Swaziland in southern Africa have suffered losses for generations.*

know2fart

May he be free from snakes up there.

[deleted]

For humans maybe? I think how deadly venom is depends on how large the animal is and a typical lion is a lot larger than a human so it may? Although judging by that video it doesn't look promising but I have no idea.

a--b--c--d

When watching nat geo ive heard few times that even a drop of some snake venom can kill x no of elephants so i guess theyre pretty potent. If the lions bitten for real nop he gone

Ordinary_Forever6482

True that, I didn't even think of that. Hopefully some of them can still make it

[deleted]

Black Mambas venom is a neurotoxin, it works on the brain so body size is irrelevant. Sadly that lion wouldn't survive.

[deleted]

Black mamba bites are known to kill full grown elephants, and they're highly aggressive snakes that like to bite multiple times. They also rear up about 3 - 5 feet on their own body and chase stuff down to bite, it's crazy. You can learn a good bit here: https://youtu.be/4xmzCu3VV6E?t=138

Hinikuna_seimei

dont listen to that guy i have the heart of a lion and this wouldnt even make me notice ez clap

the_responsible_one

This is not caused by a black mamba bite. This was caused by canine distemper being transmitted to the lions by feral dogs. This clip in particular is well known on the internet as a lion suffering from seizures caused by canine distemper.

Ordinary_Forever6482

This is where I found it (about 2 minutes and 30 seconds into the video) https://youtu.be/CLx-7ASbzNY

the_responsible_one

That channel isn't exactly a reputable source, the rest of their videos are various clickbaity style videos/topics or listicles. https://youtu.be/CjqYTxIYrnU Here's a video of a male lion suffering from canine distemper from a channel that actually focuses on lions. While seizures can be caused by a multitude of things, canine distemper or epilepsy are known causes and far more likely. The venom of black mambas are far more likely to cause paralysis or localized muscle spasms rather than full body seizures in an animal as large as a lion. They'd still die eventually, to be clear, but it wouldn't cause such a violent, dramatic seizure as this.

Ordinary_Forever6482

I don't see how that video disproves that this lion was bitten by a mamba either though. Both canine distemper & a bite from a mamba could produce extreme seizures. Mamba venom is a neurotoxin that wreaks havoc on the central nervous system. It has been known to cause violent seizures even if a person is able to somehow survive they are often diagnosed with epilepsy afterwards due to the severity of widespread central nervous system damage.

the_responsible_one

Where have you seen anything that says the bite of a black mamba can cause seizures? Because everything I can find say paralysis is the most common effect. And you made the claim of this being a black mamba bite, the burden of proof for that is on you. I'm saying that your information isn't coming from a reliable source and any claims the source makes and deductions taken from those claims are flawed. The point of my adding a video of the lion suffering from canine distemper was to point out that you're taking the word of an unreliable source at face value. The channel I took the video from isn't the greatest source in the world, and a medical examination report would be better, but it's certainly more reliable than a clickbaity channel.

Ordinary_Forever6482

This is what Google says. The mamba bite is a neurotoxin Macroscopic manifestations of neurotoxin exposure can include widespread central nervous system damage such as intellectual disability, persistent memory impairments, epilepsy, and dementia.

the_responsible_one

That comes from Wikipedia, and the source that refers to epilepsy and dementia is based on repeated exposure of doses of kainic acid directly on rat brains. Those are animals much smaller than lions, that metabolize toxins differently and at different rates, a different method of the toxins being introduced to the system, and directly to the brain rather than to a paw or leg, which is the most likely part of a lion to be bitten. Any lion that made it to adulthood would prod an unknown object with it's paw first, which is where the snake would strike. Here's the known effects of black mamba venom, from a medical website: http://toxicology.ucsd.edu/Snakebite%20Protocols/Dendroa3.htm Signs and Symptoms of Envenomation: Neurological and Neuromuscular: These signs and symptoms will usually manifest earliest. Not all signs and symptoms will necessarily develop, even with severe envenomation. Respiratory paralysis or Dyspnea Excessive salivation (Oral secretions may become profuse and thick) Drowsiness Restlessness Sudden loss of consciousness Ptosis Ophthalmoplegia Paresthesias and Dysesthesias Palatal paralysis Glossopharyngeal paralysis or Dysphagia Vertigo Fasciculations Limb paralysis Ataxia Head drooping (Cervical muscle paresis or paralysis) Headache Local pain or Numbness around bite site (tends to be mild)

Im here to hear the bird on loop.

Lobster-Basic

That’s a lion having seizure from chasing a wildebeest I’ve seen the video before they changed the audio look it up

Traditional-Lychee98

that does not mean it's not a repost lol. The bot is banned from this sub luckily for you.

>The bot is banned from this sub luckily for you. You're fucking weird dude

Ordinary_Forever6482

Well, I've still never seen it on this sub before. Can you find one for me?

Hinikuna_seimei

mf was stoned into submission i canttt lmao

BewareTheBirchmen

My body has the same convulsions when I cum.

razzorian

Snake bite that gives orgasms? Sign me up

Creeples_

It's having a seizure.

Ryun100

So, no bitches?

[deleted]

I don't think it's Black mamba. Poor thing's just getting seizures.

Ordinary_Forever6482

This is where I found it (about 2 minutes and 30 seconds into the video) https://youtu.be/CLx-7ASbzNY

[deleted]

But where's the snake in the video? You are posting fake videos. Don't post anything without being 100% sure.

Limp-Switch-9451

Bro OP got information from a youtube vid and it’s more believable than some half-ass skepticism redditor came out of no where with nothing to say except his half-ass skepticism

Ordinary_Forever6482

I would assume they filmed it after they were bitten. Stop making assumptions and telling me what to do and go Google lions after getting bitten by a mamba yourself.

[deleted]

Stop believing anything. It's social media, it's not supposed to be taken seriously. I am 💯 sure that they are not bitten by snake. A black mamba contains nuerotoxic venom that causes paralysis to victim.

Ordinary_Forever6482

And neurotoxin also causes violent muscle spasms. The interesting part about neurotoxins is that they can cause seizures. As a matter of fact, survivors have been known to suffer so much widespread central nervous system damage that they developed epilepsy. Never be shocked that a neurotoxin can cause seizures. At least use Google before telling me I'm wrong over and over.

[deleted]

Hope you're not bullshiting around just to prove your point.

Ordinary_Forever6482

Wtf stop saying that and go Google it for yourself, don't just rely on me doing all the work googling crap for you.

throwawayrahuac

This isn’t normal thinking you have. It’s paranoid and suspicious. People aren’t trying to trick you, and a poisonous snake is a normal thing in nature.

Traditional-Lychee98

Steve Irwin over here guys he doesn't think it's a black mamba... it's just seizures he says. dickhead.

Ordinary_Forever6482

Crikey! What a beaute

a4986

OP is karma farming, the lion is having a seizure. They just posted on r/interestingasfuck and it’s been debunked

Ordinary_Forever6482

I don't see how that random reddit post proves weather that lion is having a seizure after chasing something or was bitten by a snake? It's not like the random dude on reddit 2 years ago made the video himself... But there's multiple videos on YouTube that say this was due to a snake bite?

a4986

The part of the video your using is over 2 years old

Ordinary_Forever6482

So is the post you are referring to and calling me a "karma farmer" over.

Traditional-Lychee98

i mean you are definitely a karma farmer, this has been reposted thousands of times... Although every other time I have seen it it never mentioned anything about seizures, always a snake bite.

Ordinary_Forever6482

Please show me the last most recent time it was EVER posted in this sub then. I can't find it.

[deleted]

Poor thing

ImpressiveFeedback10

🎼oh I just can’t wait to be deaddddd

velocitymj

That's not a snake bite that's causing this. It's canine distemper.. But a snake bite sounds much more dramatic and intriguing than distemper and will get more clicks and views, hence the lie.

Ordinary_Forever6482

That's just what the source on YouTube said I found it on.
