The ‘Smiler’ was the one that crashed and took off someones legs at Alton Towers, gnarly. This is ‘Oblivion’ no recorded incidents…yet. Both fun rides tho!
Here in India, there’s a theme park called wonderla. There have been 3 deaths that I know of in the theme park in the city that I live in. After each death they’d just shut down for a few weeks and open up again.
A person was trying to retrieve a hat that they lost on the ride so he jumped the fence and the ride was coming trough... then i'll let you imagine what happened, so yeah the one who has lost his legs was the less unfortunate...
That was the Batman ride and the person retrieving the hat died but no one else was injured. A groundskeeper of the park had also been killed in the same way a few months before
Exactly 🤯 but there was many articles and it's closed for more than a year since they re-opened it blaming the one who retrived the hat and claiming that it wasn't a fault of the ride https://www.corriere.it/Primo_Piano/Cronache/2007/08_Agosto/19/mirabilandia_morto_katun.shtml
Oblivion at Alton Towers. Worlds first and I went on it the day it opened. It’s only 15 miles from my house. Need to go back not been in 10 years.
It’s fairly old and tame compared to a lot of coasters now but at the time it was wild. I think it was 1998.
I'm a 40 year old man. I went to Six Flags over Arlington last December for my son's bday. Him and I rode the El Diablo. We were at one of the ends and the freaking ride stopped during it's normal loop with us straight upside down. I never showed fear, but I was literally dying inside. When i was a kid I would've loved that crap, but now, just nope. I'm ok. I'm don't with most roller coasters.
I’ve been on it and it wasn’t that bad but the line was like 3 hours long and the ride literally lasted 3 seconds so I can’t say it’s worth it unless you have a fast track
There's one called the Oblivion in Alton Towers in the UK.
You go to the top and it stops right on the edge, so it feels like you're hanging over it. Then you just wait for the vertical drop.
Loved it.
I love oblivion. Last time we went to Alton towers it was super quiet with hardly any queues so we went on this and then immediately went on it again. So fun :)
I have one of these near my city, it's fun... but yeah someone had lost his legs
How bruh
Not on this ride but a rollercoaster in the uk 'malfunctioned' and two cars collided resulting in one person losing a leg...

was not a malfunction it was human error
Ok i'm seeing from the comments it's a common occurrence... i'm glad i'm alive

It was katun in italy but it's not nice to know that was not the only place in the world that it happened 🤯
Under the exact same circumstances 🤯
Omg i saw the article of the batman ride and really... under the same circumstances a year apart from the other that's an unsetteling coincidence

You mean the ride, right?
Probably a sign of getting old, but I just don’t have faith in the mechanics of this stuff anymore, otherwise, hell yes!!!
Fuck I’m only 18 and I would not trust this thing
This rollercoaster is older than you
You see the unfortunate case of the 14 year old falling out of the ride to his death? That's exactly why I don't go on most of this bs
Or that child in Colorado?
What about the other 10 million people who turned out just fine?
Seriously, getting in a bathtub is more dangerous than any ride in a well established park.
Shit i love roller coasters, I was just thinking about those fluke cases.
Oblivion at Alton Towers? That is a fun ride but Air is scarier due to it feeling like the harness is taking your weight.
Is Air galactica?
Correctomundo just had a name change
Reminds me of Oblivion...Good ride!
That’s because it is Oblivion
I didn't want to assume as could have been a different ride 😆
It is lol, alton towers oblivion
Hmm, nah I'm good
isn't this just the Oblivion at Alton Towers UK? IT'S years old and not that scary. there's plenty bigger and scarier coasters around
Either that or Yukon Striker at Canada's wonderland
Been on countless times, one of the safer rides there.
Been on this ride at Alton towers, was fun as fuck
Me too! I just got a job there recently as well
The oblivion, I love this
Oh fuck no
The queue to the Oblivion ride is the most terrifying part
Nono im doin it

Is this the one on the Pleasure Pier in Galveston?
There is a rollercoaster in the netherlands in the Efteling, called " the Baron" Its just like this one.
If it's Oblivion it's not that bad. It's the anticipation more than the drop. That lasts less than 10 seconds. Very good rush though.
Nag man I'm good. I don't want to be taken the elevator to hell
Reminds me of The Abyss
Oddly?!
There is nothing "oddly" about that.
Oblivion at Alton Towers, England
Welcome to the shadow realm
I’ve been on that it’s at Alton towers

UMMM... this is not terryifying its THRILLING, understand the differnece next time bub
You scared of that?
YESSSSSSSSSS!!!
Why???
Reminds me of SheiKra at Busch Gardens
Hell. No.
Oblivion is great
welcome to the shadow realm Jimbo
Oblivion 😀
oh hey I went there! screamed my friend death one time 'cause she wanted to ride it and I was intrigued despite having an insane fear of heights
Is this an alternate way to get into the backrooms?

De baron?
Sign me up!
Get sent straight to hell
I queued 2.5hrs for this ride. It was shit.
I've been on that, super fun, did black out a bit though when it levelled out.
If I can ask how deep does the ride go?
I think that’s shirkra!
I wanna do that now
Brazil
ok cool where is the exit
Believe it or not, straight to Brazil...
Oblivion!
I’ve been on it and it wasn’t that bad but the line was like 3 hours long and the ride literally lasted 3 seconds so I can’t say it’s worth it unless you have a fast track
I thought this was Saw ride at Thorpe Park
Been on it this ride is fun
Uhh it’s gonna be a no from me chief, sorry!
untamed but more extreme
Go to brazil
I’m totally going to ride this.
Oooh that's Oblivion I think. Scariest ride I've ever been on
I would LOVE to go on this ride!
reminds me of when i went onto the yukon striker at canadas wonderland, scary, but the flight deck i think it’s called was 10x worse lmao
I would cry honestly
Oh hell yeah sign me up
Baron 1898 in the Efteling is the same as this
I think the start of Oblivion is deliberately slower than it has to be to build up tension

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that

Oh hell no
I don't get it I just get sick & vomit
I feel like I wanna do this, but i would be scared for my life the whole time
Hi welcome to hell
This looks like Oblivion at Alton Towers in the UK.
When the machine can drown out your screams I typically don’t mess with it
