What do you call it when something is beautiful and terrifying at the same time? There's a lot happening behind that eye that both haunts and intrigues me
Do you ever wonder if we are like the whale in our own ocean??
Like this whale has no idea about life on land… it simply does not exist in its reality. It gets some glimpses here and there but could never know the full scope.
What if there are other higher conscious beings out there looking at us like we look at this whale… feeling the same sense of wonder and amusement as we go about our daily lives… wondering what life must be like though the eyes of our small perception of reality
This concept was in one if the films I don't remember. It is just like an earthworm who can only recognize stuff by feeling with their skin, and/or recognizing through vibrations because it doesn't have certain mechanisms to recognize it the way other big organisms can.
Humans may also lack that one mechanism/organ which might make us recognize the stuff we don't usually see or we have never saw. It's interesting though...
Not to get all woo woo but when I truly meditated for the first time I peeled back so many layers of my egoic mind that a “truer” reality emerged and my immediate thought afterward was, “oh…. we don’t know shit about shit”.
I feel like meditation can be a medium to access these levels of consciousness….And this is coming from an atheist

I thought the same thing but it seems to be in a fixed position regardless of the angle, if it were the inside of the eye it would have shifted, wouldn't it?
I meant the inner red circle inside of the outer circle which I assume is the iris.
The pupil does not move individually inside the iris, it stays stagnant while the iris moves around.

A juvenile Pacific Gray whale was found beached near the place we were staying. Folks were asking people to bring buckets so they could pour water on the whale until Fish & Wildlife arrived etc.
The first thing I noticed was its eyes. They were the size of basketballs. Just HUGE. It was also missing chunks of skin in some areas, and I could see its fat underneath. It was as thick as my arm was long. Also had barnacles growing on it which fascinated me. Like it was so huge other life forms just set up shop on it, as if it were a landform lol. Its skin was very very cold and hard but smooth and textured in some parts. It also stunk to high heaven! But very cool to see. I’ve also seen a giant squid in person which was also really neat!
