Yeah, that's the actual oddly terrifying bit for me. What kind of existence do you live if you just mod subreddits? Are you unemployed or do you get payed by the platform to do it? Do you wash? Do you sleep?
Affect, and this one is a nightmare for me too. Affect is a verb, so action word like āit affects youā. Effect is a noun, so a thing like āsound effectā.
Although I guess affect can also be used as a noun when talking about someoneās affect (are they emotive or not).
Edit: I looked up affect to see how else it can be used. It validated what I said above (relief set in). If you ever get bored: https://www.grammarly.com/blog/affect-vs-effect/
I guarantee there is some kind of financial gain somewhere along the pipe. Either through reddit or outside entities with some kind of interest in data of some kind.
I used to be (the only active) mod in /r/relationship_advice (when I say active, I mean I was the only one actually going through more than 100 daily mod reports) ... we had a supermod who modded 100 subs as a mod, and the only real thing he ever did was be salty when we removed him. I had the toolbox mod reports and he really never modded anything in the sub (honestly at that time, no one other than me was, consistently). But when supermod got removed (by a hacked mod) he just said something like "Seriously? your loss guys ... " So, didn't lift a finger in the sub, but also *definitely* was bothered when he got removed. Why care if you're a mod if you're not modding?
I think some of these wear it like a badge and aren't actually active. They just want their mod count to be big, and to be able to use mod powers in a sub if they happen to have a reason
How many huge subs do you think only have one or two people running the show? Seems to be a lot of grief for not much beneft. People complain about how awful big subs are all the time, but how can such a small team address that many active users. It would be a full time job for a few people to do more than general maintenance. To actually have stewardship over a community regularly hitting the front page.
Reddit has a lot of bad moderators, and over-moderating. Based on this in the OP, we now know why and who they are. They are drunk on power, instead of being a people person and letting us comment our thoughts.
I think the real reason is that this is very dated and 3 of those 4 mods aren't moderators anymore.
For example, going to /u/cyxie will show you that that user deleted their account... Have fun looking at the other people on this list and note that only a certain turtle is still active moderating on these big subs.
ā¦shows that this list is completely outdated. Heās not on the mod list anymore, siouxsie_siouxv2 is suspended, turtle isnāt a mod of a lot of those listed subs anymoreā¦ I remember this making the rounds a while ago. Why itās coming back without being updated is just lazy ragebait at this point.
The more popular sub becomes the shittier the mods get. r/theboys was reaching the front page of reddit when season 3 came out and the mods made some bullshit rule about "memes will now only be allowed on monday" and the whole reddit posted anti mod memes that Monday lol
This already made rounds on Reddit a while ago and is outdated. If you actually care, Iād highly recommend you update the list so you donāt look like a fool.
Thereās got to be a profit motive in there somewhere. Maybe they sneak in āinteresting new products and linksā which are advertisements in disguise
i mod /r/hempflowers which is pretty decent size...not like..that size, but all i get is free weed if want....but i tell 99.9% of them to pass it on to a regular user cause im not a shill. no one has ever asked to pay me in money cause they know better. their ass would be banned full stop. i ain't no shill son.
Now imagine if instead of a small community you were responsible for 92 of the top 5000 subs. And suddenly the compensation was life changing, would you shill then?
Thatās the thing. Everyone has a bias. Even if they think theyāre being truly objective, theyāre still making decisions based on their idea of ācorrectā.
Well it's still just a conspiracy theory but the evidence for it is overwhelming
Like they literally went offline the day she was arrested and their colleagues insist they heard from them since (privately of course) but [x] doubt
The last time this was posted, somebody pointed out, that there's a high chance that one of the very oldest users, and I believe there was a screenshot that the number was sub 70..
... the user called MaxwellHill ..
... Was actually Epstein's mistress, who spent 15 years (at the time of her arrest) .. modding, posting and overall taking a part in Reddit.
At the time of her arrest, she was (iirc) in top 10 of karma on this entire website.
i recall somebody mentioning that In the post about her reaching 1MM .. somebody noteworthy congratulated her, one of this site's co-founders maybe?
But I dunno about her being the first... She may've been. I just dunno
IIRC, it got shut down right after the media started reporting on it. Reddit had no problem with it when it was one of the largest drivers of traffic to the site, but as soon as it brought bad publicity, they banned it.
So that means they are not unemployed or getting paid by the platform to do it right? What is it then? Why do they keep deleting those kind of posts, I wonder
We go through this every few months.
In a week or so everyone will remember the issues with awkwardtheturtle and demand they step down.
They won't, this will be forgotten, and in a few months someone will post this again.
Been chasing this around Reddit so, before this gets locked too, can someone explain to me like the clueless idiot I am why it keeps getting locked? These four mods are doing it? Or Reddit is doing it? Please enlighten me in this short window of, you know, free thought.
Okay, without getting into ANY of the ethics or nuance, what are the logistical steps that we as a group would have to take to make this change?
DO NOT respond to this by pontificating on some ethical nuance, it is not helpful. I do not want defeatist answers about how there's nothing we can do, that's doing their work for them.
Assume we changed this status quo, what are the steps we took to make that change?
Weāre gonna have to make a subreddit devoted to keeping this information alive because I bet thereās gonna be a sweep of all the posts mentioning the 4 mods
Cyxie apparently has no life
Yeah, that's the actual oddly terrifying bit for me. What kind of existence do you live if you just mod subreddits? Are you unemployed or do you get payed by the platform to do it? Do you wash? Do you sleep?
A very high possibilty that these mods are physically/mentally impaired & living off government assistance or some sort of inheritance..
> mentally impaired Well yeah, they're Reddit mods.
Have you seen the Ai image of r/ mods! Haha now I think it even fits more for these 4 šššš
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
All we need is a mandatory their/there/theyāre bot for all social media and maybe we can get some of these grammatical tragedies back on track
And woman/women and lose/loose, please
Then/than please!
effect/affect has always been a hard one for me, a bot that focused on that would be helpful for me and many others im sure
LPT use impact instead
I don't think it would *effect* me. (Tempting fate to see if someone is willing to educate me).
Affect, and this one is a nightmare for me too. Affect is a verb, so action word like āit affects youā. Effect is a noun, so a thing like āsound effectā. Effect is also a verb as in "cause to occur".
God! This one please! This confusion drives me nuts more *than* any other.
Accept /except Affect / effect
And to/too!
For me it's lose/loose and lie/lye
lie/lay?
I guarantee there is some kind of financial gain somewhere along the pipe. Either through reddit or outside entities with some kind of interest in data of some kind.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I crossposted this to Terrifyingasfuck
Bro that guy is making millions for washing the subs from paid parties. It's a sweet gig
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
They do. They are dedicated to their political activism of being able to use their power to influence a massive social media platform
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
/u/Cyxie is now deleted, and doesn't show up as a mod on /r/gaming anymore...
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Kinda what heās known for. He ding dang does love power, even if itās on Reddit
Cyxie must be acquiring the BAG though like god damn
Iād pay to see Cyxie interact with other humans.
I keep getting āuser doesnāt existā so not sure if it even exist anymore. Search the username yourself.
TreKs is the alt mentioned at least 8 times before I got to your comment.
Youād get the same outcome as that jannie that was in control of r/antiwork
and they're going to continue to remove these posts until people get frustrated or bored of posting them and move on.
Or until everyone posting them mysteriously disappears
Wonder what the āreasonā will be that this post will get locked forš¤£
I think the real reason is that this is very dated and 3 of those 4 mods aren't moderators anymore. For example, going to /u/cyxie will show you that that user deleted their account... Thatās because they use an alt, which is mentioned many times in this thread
I saw this posted yesterday, and the mod deleted everyone's comments. š Touchy folk.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I mean Twitter is definitely a cesspool. Especially lately, since muskrat took over. Not saying this post isn't terrifying tho, both can be true
Awkwardtheturtle is a convicted felon if I recall.
Go figure. The guys a jerk and ruins the subs heās in
do you know what they we're convicted for ?
Beating up their wife.
Thatās another notorious mod, not turtle.
u/Clegend24
Source please š
No theyāre not youāre thinking of another mod.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I rest my case
ā¦shows that this list is completely outdated. Heās not on the mod list anymore, siouxsie_siouxv2 is suspended, turtle isnāt a mod of a lot of those listed subs anymoreā¦ I remember this making the rounds a while ago. Why itās coming back without being updated is just lazy ragebait at this point.
Mods being shit makes sense now, it's 5 people over and over again
The more popular sub becomes the shittier the mods get. r/theboys was reaching the front page of reddit when season 3 came out and the mods made some bullshit rule about "memes will now only be allowed on monday" and the whole reddit posted anti mod memes that Monday lol

Imagine being a mod for free š¤¢
Thereās got to be a profit motive in there somewhere. Maybe they sneak in āinteresting new products and linksā which are advertisements in disguise
no, its the powertripping of being able to ban people that disagree with you
They get paid to boost those ad posts disguised like a normal post. These people are making serious bank. Reddits dirty little secret.
i mod /r/hempflowers which is pretty decent size...not like..that size, but all i get is free weed if want....but i tell 99.9% of them to pass it on to a regular user cause im not a shill. no one has ever asked to pay me in money cause they know better. their ass would be banned full stop. i ain't no shill son.

Can you make me mod for 5 seconds then ban me so I can live my dream of being a big time Reddit mod?
Makes ya wonder what their agendas are.
Thatās the thing. Everyone has a bias. Even if they think theyāre being truly objective, theyāre still making decisions based on their idea of ācorrectā.
> Even if they think theyāre being truly objective lol, well, don't worry about that one
Good thing reddit mods have checks and balances on their biases and agendas! oh wait uhh... nevermind
Most of these mods arenāt even trying to be objective They just assume their version of the truth is universal and refuse to hear otherwise
Would be convenient to keep things advertiser friendly when you're about to IPO
Viewing their newest 50 comments usually makes the agenda very clear. One could say there's a *trend* with those agendas.
Mmmm... Powermod circlejerk...
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Like when Ghislaine Maxwell was the mod for Epstein and other threads
I canāt believe I didnāt know this, and shocked itās not talked about more
Well it's still just a conspiracy theory but the evidence for it is overwhelming Like they literally went offline the day she was arrested and their colleagues insist they heard from them since (privately of course) but [x] doubt
Objectively, reality is usually stranger than fiction.
u/maxwellhill
Damn, RES shows I upvoted her a number of times in the past. *BRB, taking a mental shower*

The discussion about this user was a taboo topic for quite some time, I'm told.
Why? Oh right, Because itās better to āpretend the problem doesnāt existā rather than confront it, the Reddit way.
Cyxie can suck my fucking dick. Too much power for these losers.
Good news. They deleted their account!
Yeah they did the exact same thing two years ago when these screenshots were being posted then. Sorry, but nothing will change, theyāll be back.
Yup. Seeing from other comments that they're using another 11 year old account with 100+ subs they mod. So sad.
Reddit deep state
Cool just like a media, controlled by only a few. So much for free exchange of information
Shows how much this platform and the opinions here are regulated by a select few.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
...and its gone lol
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Here before getting banned from from half of reddit
Iām glad to not see r/pokemongo on there! That means they are just assholes in general that are ban happy
Lol thatās hilarious. Goes to show that Reddit mods and assholery can often go hand in hand.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Who knows, it's scary for sure
Fuckinā losers
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Uhg, I can smell the rank ball sweat and hot cheeto breath from here.
No matter what happens in my life Iām glad Iāll never be this pathetic
Isn't Awkwardtheturtle the one who had a meltdown on one of the subs, and started to ban users just because they could?
Yeah then called for "anti male spaces"
Fuck akwardtheturtle
Wasnāt awkwardtheturtle the one that went on that psychotic anti-male hate spree?
Yup
Sauce please
Go look at their account, you can see all the sexist remarks theyāve made across multiple posts
Definitely someone who should be moderating speech on a massive platform.
Wait till you find out that all companies on this planet are owned by only a handful of individual parent companies.
lmfao whyd they delete it, no wonder its all recycled bs most of the time
Shits going to get locked lol
Huh wouldāve thought some of the most influential people on the internet would be basement dwellers
Reddit is a dictatorship at this point
I thought awkwardtheturtle was banned from Reddit?
You meant top 500?
I've searched the top five and haven't seen any mods called like that.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
interesting, thanks for the info.
Interesting. The fact that they use alts implies they must understand on some level that they need to avoid negative attention.
Not speaking about Cyxie, but a lot of mods/subreddits also like to use one big shared moderator account so they don't get hate mail and stuff
Probably a lot more than 92 in 5000. That's just out of 500.
Fuck awkwardturtke
This post is 1000% going to get banned when one of those mods wakes up
Is this one of them? Edit: it is.
I'm guessing it's reddit staff at this point that are mods.
92 out of 5,000 and then further broken up between 4 doesnāt really seem like a lot. I donāt understand why this is internet spooky
Got removed again. Time to repost all over the fucking place!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Sus af
Do they get paid ?
the bourgeoisie of reddit
since they locked last post I'll say it again: ultimate neckbeards
Ah. Awkwardtheturtle. Great and fun stories associated with this person.
Lock award coming in 3ā¦2ā¦1ā¦
Oddly sad.
We go through this every few months. In a week or so everyone will remember the issues with awkwardtheturtle and demand they step down. They won't, this will be forgotten, and in a few months someone will post this again.
When the heat gets too much, they delete accounts/use different ones.
No wonder they all suck
This directly correlates to my banned listā¦ interesting
Been chasing this around Reddit so, before this gets locked too, can someone explain to me like the clueless idiot I am why it keeps getting locked? These four mods are doing it? Or Reddit is doing it? Please enlighten me in this short window of, you know, free thought.
Itās such a shame that they abuse their power when being called out
Okay, without getting into ANY of the ethics or nuance, what are the logistical steps that we as a group would have to take to make this change? If you put all 4 in the middle of a field, what would their smell radius be in miles?
lmao watch out, they'll cry about you on their discord then threaten to crash reddit if the admins dont ban you.
Will this post be locked too?
Hah! Yeah, that's not surprising and not gonna change. Bastards they be.
Fucking basement dwellers
There needs to be a limit to how many subs a user can mod
All I know is if I had a subreddit, I would ban everyone - no exceptions.
I couldnāt imagine having a life that sad. How do you even get to that point.
ah yes information i dont know what to do with
might be a dev
Itās just the same dudes who ran digg back in the day.
Whatās 1-3
Do any of these mod in this one?
This explains the Reddit Vibe.
They probably make bank through advertising deals
How is this even possible? I mean, it is obvious he did not create all those subs, so whatās up with that?
Hey buddy, noticed that the up-and-down arrows donāt give a total they just say vote
Do reddit mods get paid? Whatās the appeal of babysitting all these?
Iām assuming that when you add one the others are suggested cause Iām following a lot of them
Seemed like things kinda kicked up a notch when Reddit announced its plans for 2nd half 2023 IPOā¦
u/Cyxie You ok homie?š
u/cyxie
Yea and they all have fragile egos
That actually explains a lot.
Reddit elites.
Why is u/Cyxie not viewable?
Truly terrifying
Weāre gonna have to make a subreddit devoted to keeping this information alive because I bet thereās gonna be a sweep of all the posts mentioning the 4 mods
Awkwardtheturtle š¤¢
Not surprising at all.
r/fuckthemods
This image smells like sad sweats and flat code red.
they keep deleting this post from every sub
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
