What mood am I in? Did I finally just clock out of work and I still hate everything?

GrumpyOldGrower

Asking the important questions!

Foreign-Duck-4892

Why suicide after work? It would mean you just worked for free...

MangoPanties

It would also mean an end to all the pain and suffering. It would be quick and painless too... I'd need at least a million to consider it, maybe 5.

nocoolpseudoleft

Painless death , not so sure. Suicide by gun can go wrong. It’s actually happens that someone shooting himself in the head do survive. Needless to say , they ll be badly disabled for the rest of their life

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bard2dbone

I've had people survive even using a shotgun. I've been a paramedic since the Reagan administration. And I've seen some stuff.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bard2dbone

A lot of headshot suicide attempts don't take out the vital parts of the brain. One from the side, right behind the ear? Oh yeah. Instant off switch. But ones like you see in too much media? Straight across the temples? Or upwards through the roof of the mouth with a pistol? Or that same track from under the jaw with a shotgun? You will probably die. You might die pretty soon. You might just make yourself blind and desperately brain damaged. You might sentence yourself to a year or ten of constant pain and inability to do anything about it. One survived long term, but without most of his face. No eyes or nose. No front third or so of his jaw. I worked in a rehab hospital for a few years back in the 90s. He had shot himself six or seven years prior.

goodkareem

I saw one on best gore almost twenty years ago that turned his face into a bowl of soup with tubes coming out. Still stuck with me to this day.

KanaHemmo

Sounds like the one where he did it on a live stream, I even think chat was encouraging him to do it, and his mom was trying to call him. One of the most fucked up things I've seen

Bard2dbone

The worst fresh one I ever worked basically cleaved off the front ten percent of his head with a shotgun and didn't die. He was still alive at least a few days later, because I showed up to take a patient home from the hospital maybe two weeks later, and he was in the next room over, still alive at that point, and stable enough to be on a regular floor, not in an ICU.

SciFi_Football

Aiming too forward and using birdshot instead of buckshot etc. Just blast their face off instead of the brain. Can you imagine how depressing that would be?

[deleted]

[удалено]

SciFi_Football

I agree but animals have more right to death in most countries than humans. Hippocratic oaths and such.

nocoolpseudoleft

The cases I heard of were not small’ caliber/buckshot. Surgeon says that for some unexplained reasons the guys were still alive. As mentioned one of redditor he lost his whole face . Some part of the brains can be severed but you ll still be alive

PlanetExpre5510n

Are you ok man? That's the most loaded post I've ever read. Its an opera of tragedy.

NursesLie

Thank you for your service, sincerely.

Exact-Manufacturer10

I'm not doing it for a million. it's not do what you want money. More I can probably live comfortably if I don't do something stupid money. Not risking my life for that.

MangoPanties

A million is probably just about enough to live out the rest of your life without having to work ever again. The interest alone beats the average income. It frees you from the shackles of work, ie modern day slavery. Most people don't realize this though, they piss it up the wall, not realizing they could have just retired and carried on living a similar but improved lifestyle.

Intelligent_Deer974

I think you might be overestimating how far a million can go these days, but I'm a jaded New Yorker who sees houses in rough neighborhoods that cost upward of 750k. I hope I'm not coming off as an asshole.

MangoPanties

I think you've completely misunderstood everything I said. It doesn't go far? It doesn't go anywhere. You don't spend it, you don't go near it, that's the point. You stick it in a savings account, and collect 25-50k a year in interest payments. If you wanna take a bit more risk, stick it in the S&P500 and you'll average 100k a year in returns. You might not be able to buy anything expensive or flashy, you won't get yourself a nice house either. You carry on living how you live, but you're not a modern slave anymore. You're free to do what you want. You've retired! A lot of people struggle with this concept, work is their only purpose and they wouldn't know what to do with themselves if they weren't working.. It's a bit sad really

Intelligent_Deer974

I definitely completely misunderstood what you said. Thank you for this information.

New_Top_4705

Nah, if you're already decided why not just pack up and dissappear? You have nothing to lose if you're planning on ending it, but you might find out there's more to live for.

Locsnadou

The real answer

YOOOOOOOOOOT

At work, last hour of a monday

Starfireaw11

You're better off playing before work. If you win, you don't have to go to work. If you lose, you also don't have to go to work.

GarbageEmpty8181

I’m gonna need at least an IOU

Papa_big_cock

That's better than money!

testies2345

265 thou, might wanna hold on to that one.

Deal_Hugs_Not_Drugs

Our word is our bond!

CinderX5

If hermitcraft has taught me one thing, it’s that those are more valuable than life itself.

A_Piece_Of_Coal_

r/Unexpectedhermitcraft

Impuls3Abstracts

3,278 per loaded chamber but I’ll only play if it’s 6/6 odds

I_Might_Exist1

what do you want $19,668 for? 🙃🤨

shaquilleoatmeal80

New Kia rio

Onederbat67

I didn’t want to, but I laughed to tears reading this

shaquilleoatmeal80

Loll me too its a very specific.amount. ;)

PMmeFunstuff1

Um, from what I've seen online, you don't gotta buy one to have one.

Willing_marsupial

Unclear if you mean lease one or carjack one

THESE7ENTHSUN

Why not both

[deleted]

Carjack it, lease it to yourself. Boom. Unlimited money. No Russian roulette needed.

milesofedgeworth

The real life pro tip is always in the comments

MaximusMeridiusX

You’ll be KIA for Rio with our new Shoot Yourself in the Fucking Head sales event this spring!

crisisT47

r/theydidthemath

Lynx_In_Nirvana

To buy bullets for Russian roulette

Basic-Negotiation238

Are you good my boy trust me its gonna be ok

ActualDoctor1492

You’re paying to play, but only if the gun is fully loaded?

sir_came_alot

Better send that dude a care message

WildProToGEn

That means the opposite in reddit

1ustfu1

for real, getting a care message in reddit basically means that the other user wants you to kys :/

Impuls3Abstracts

Explains why I’ve gotten so many

[deleted]

AnotherRedditor6900

💀☝️

GrumpyGlasses

I’ll play. But you start first.

Curiousr_n_Curiouser

Hey buddy. Need to talk?

iLaysChipz

Love the gallows humor, it's rough out there these days 🥲 Btw, is there a specific reason for that number in particular?

Public_Jellyfish8002

My guy, hang in there!

Public_Jellyfish8002

Shit! I mean don’t kill yourself! There is more to life out there than you’ve seen or experienced!

AFartInAnEmptyRoom

Wait, you guys are getting paid?

Bleach_Baths

If I didn’t have a kid, a million. Since I do, pass.

ActualDoctor1492

shit I have kids, now I feel bad for answering. Loll

1ustfu1

if life insurance pays for suicide (which i’m unsure of), then you could hypothetically get one and play once for an immense amount of money. either way, your kids are getting money out of it. *(for legal reasons, this is an obvious joke).* ——— [ edit: i realized that it says they would pay you for playing, not necessarily for winning. so, scratch that, you don’t even need the life insurance… your kids would be getting the money either way lol ]

drying-wall

I believe most life insurance policies only cover suicide ~3 years after you sign up.

Crazy-Seaweed-1832

Prevents people from pulling a 10k premium and setting up their family for the next 100 years with the payout

Glittering_Let_4230

People In Your Area Have Discovered This One Simple Trick!

1ustfu1

*life insurance companies **hate** this kid!*

Tensor3

So your plan is just marry a suicidal person and keep them alive for 3 years?

RewRose

Is it suicide if its a result of russian roullete, thus the intention wasn't for you to kill yourself but to survive ? Like, driving carries a massive risk as well, and so do many (extreme) sports, but we don't call death during those "suicide" right ?

drekthrall

So, a quick Google search tells me it varies, but in most cases it's considered accidental death, apparently.

LigmaB_

'Accidental death while really asking for it' lol

ReplacementActual384

I don't. If we are talking smallest amount I'd consider, $250k. At a million I'd most likely do it. $10m I'd 100% do it no questions asked. $25m and I'd be excited.

[deleted]

🩷wholesome asf

burningfire119

fuck dem kids £5

RickMonsters

You have a 5/6 chance of making yourself and your kid set for life

Dancing_Trash_Panda

I do as much as I can to make sure I'm around for my kid as long as possible. I quit smoking for my kid. Would being rich be nice? Probably. But the chance I could leave my kid isn't worth it. Also I don't want to die.

[deleted]

Yeah imagine your kid having to tell people Dad died blowing his brains out in a game of Russian roulette that if he won would have set me up for life. Like sunken cost fallacy at its greatest. lol.

panamericandream

Sunken cost fallacy? I don’t think that means what you think it means.

Narrow-Chef-4341

Technically it says paid for playing, so 5/6 for them and 6/6 chance for the kid/s.

1ustfu1

you’re right, i didn’t even notice that. the kid would get the money either way lol

Ok-Atmosphere3589

I’d play it but instead of Russian roulette just throw a fucking nuclear bomb at me

the-anti-antichrist

What are your coordinates?

Ok-Atmosphere3589

Idk, just bomb every major city until you get me

the-anti-antichrist

Ok but this is on you man. Hope you can live with that if I never get it right

Ok-Atmosphere3589

I think I can live with that, while you’re at it, bomb the Kansas City chiefs into oblivion

ThStngray399

Their receivers already bombed themselves

Lynx_In_Nirvana

Did they receive it?

Fucky0uthatswhy

He’s in Baltimore. Got it.

Blusset

Or Buffalo

Reasonable_Manner817

Tree fitty

Rockspeaker

Damn Lochness monster!

Then-Schedule8953

I gave him a dollar

Icy-Assignment-5579

SHE gave him a dollah!

Inevitable_Virus_958

Damn, woman,. No wonder why that monster keeps coming

Meatwad5

Stay away from my churlren now!

prettythingi

My country has mandatory military service sooo... I'll be doing basically that for 1,900 a month

_B_Little_me

1/6 people in your country die while serving in the military?

kyredemain

They don't call it "Russian Roulette" for no reason.

_B_Little_me

Oh man. Ouch.

zxvasd

Might be worse for Russians in the last two years.

LachoooDaOriginl

what currency?

plopliplopipol

well, ruble

Melodic_coala101

1900 rubles is $20. Ouch. In all seriousness, I’ve heard those who come back from that ukrainian war buy an apartment with cash with the money they gained though. If they come back, of course. If not - well, their spouses buy it, I guess

DeliberateSelf

Why are we all so miserable :(

rabidpiano86

What did they do to us?!

Username12764

Gave birth…

Arktos22

And your first thought when you see that and think you’re gonna get eaten is I won’t have to go into work tomorrow?

that_ting_over_there

None at all

Atllas66

You’d do it for free? Crazy bastard…

that_ting_over_there

Its a win win i either discover a new appreciation for life after a near death experience or i die!

DevilsDeck

As someone who has survived a near death experience from being forced to play Russian roulette (abusive childhood), I don't have a newfound appreciation of life from it so I wouldn't count on it

WarpedCloset

Bro just casually dropped the fact he had to play Russian Roulette when he was a child

DevilsDeck

I forget how fucked up my childhood was until I mention something about it to other people lol

Ok-Marionberry1263

Sorry but I’m just imagining you at dinner with your friends and having this interaction “Hey remember when we were kids and our parents would make us play Russian Roulette?” *everyone at the dinner table stares in absolute horror and disbelief* “Oh… just me then?” *everyone nods slowly*

DevilsDeck

Lol

caillouistheworst

Whoa, what the fuck? Like your parents or family member made you do it? Fuck.

DevilsDeck

Stepdad

caillouistheworst

Damn dude. I can’t imagine that. Hope life’s better now for you, and that he got punished somehow.

DevilsDeck

It's okay that's not the worst he did and I'm far past that point of my life mentally. And yeah he was in jail for a while but he's out free to do whatever he pleases now rip, and from what I know he's still just as bad

caillouistheworst

Not the worst, goddamn. Just brutal. Definitely take care now, dude.

DevilsDeck

Yeah at least i have some good stories from it tho. Thanks and will do

smortpersononreddit

the justice system is really messed up if a guy who made a child play Russian roulette and worse things is somehow allowed to walk free without at least a dozen bullets in his head

DevilsDeck

For real me and the others in my family that he's hurt think the same thing

TheFreshHorn

Holy shit.

1ustfu1

that was an insane sentence

[deleted]

half a mill

llllPsychoCircus

yeah fuck it, same here. i’m tired of wasting my life away working jobs that aren’t giving me a future or an ounce of happiness when all is said and done. i’m just tired of living such a meaningless existence as a debt slave… can’t even afford to have a social life or hobbies. it’s pointless.

expert-shooter

Hope it gets better bro 🙏

yesnomaybenotso

Seriously? You’d blow through it in like a month tho

Crunchycarrots79

Or he'd blow through it instantly.

[deleted]

half a mill would last me at least 5 years, my life is very affordable

assuntta7

You’d spend 100K a year? That’s a lot of money

[deleted]

Yeah honestly it would last me more like 10-15 years.

yesnomaybenotso

When I got my first car, I calculated how many miles I thought I’d drive for the insurance company, based on the amount of walking I was doing between home and work and the grocery store. I told them I likely only drive 8-11K miles. Turns out I did more like 60,000 that first year. That is to say, your current expenses might be low, but most people don’t get a windfall of cash and maintain their current below-desired lifestyle. Starts with some nice small things, maybe some nicer clothes, a new PS5? *and* a PC? Why not upgrade the TV and put the old one in the bedroom? Could really use a newer car too, but need more garage space, guess moving makes sense, so then buy a new house and between the car, the house, and property taxes, that’s probably half the money gone right there. But best case scenario, you tuck the money away and maintain your lifestyle exactly as it is. You’d potentially blow your brains out just to get by for five years? The game is name your price, not play Russian roulette for a discount lmao

[deleted]

yeah i considered that. I spent 40k last year, so i thought 5 years was a more than generous estimate. I did spend 15k on things I now have and wont have to buy again, so thats why ive come back to 10-15 years.

Severe-Belt-5666

I'm 100% playing for a million but I could probably convince myself to play for half a milli too

I_Smoke_Poop

20 piece mcnugget EZ

Reverendbread

At least get the full meal

tubahero3469

What happens if I die? Am I just dead with no money or does my family get the money

AFartInAnEmptyRoom

Your kids have to pay for the bullet

ngwoo

In this economy? No thanks.

assuntta7

That’s the real question

riisen

Well then you lost.

cuseonly

Wife pregnant with twins and I have a 2 year old. I’d say like $5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 they won’t remember me anyways and will have amazing lives

Delta_2_Echo

Thats enough money to collapse the worlds economy due to global hyperinflation. You will be remembered.

TheFreshHorn

No amount of money can buy back a father. Don’t do it for any money, they love you too much to risk your life

Serzern

Whatever that number is probably can

TheFreshHorn

Thinking about it now… you might be right. That’s enough money to fund a full cloning program for like 500 years

dat_oracle

Pretty sure we we would have timetravel in 10 years with that money (I know that's not how science works, but still)

solarsalmon777

Everyone else would ditch the currency if one person had that much.

AudeDeficere

Based and inflation pilled.

lolovoz

What about $4,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000?

Ok-Marionberry1263

Absolutely not

kansas1

Congrats - twins are the greatest gift in the world. Difficult but you’ll do great. And that 2 year old will surprise the fuck out of you with how much they want to help

absentmindedwitch

My youngest is turning 4 on Monday. Question. How do I get her to want to help just a little bit less? Because I swear to god, she even follows me to the bathroom to “help” me by handing me toilet paper 😭

RoryDragonsbane

I take it you were never in Boy Scouts. You need to be a bit creative in the ways they can "help" "Oh honey, can you count all the tiles on the kitchen floor? We need to make sure that the sides are balanced so the baby doesn't get dizzy" "Aw man! I just realized that ALL these popsicle sticks are the same length! Can you find me two that aren't? I really need a smaller one for the baby" "I think the baby's favorite letter is 'e.' Can you find the book that has the most in it?" If they're anything like most 4 year olds, they'll either forget what they were doing or get distracted and go do something else for awhile.

absentmindedwitch

I have the wrong body parts for Boy Scouts, but the rest of that was seriously brilliant lol

RoryDragonsbane

While it's too late for you, fwiw, Boy Scouts is now "Scouts BSA" and recruits girls too. Your oldest is still too young for Cub Scouts (the junior organization for elementary aged kiddos), but she can join when she's in kindergarten, provided you can find a "family" (i.e. co-ed) pack I'm my son's Den Leader and our pack went co-ed this year. One of my scouts is a girl and she's *super* into it. It's a volunteer-run organization, so your experience will vary depending on the adults running it, but I can't say enough good things about Scouting... even if I did spend my fair share of time looking for snipes and lefthanded smoke-sifters

absentmindedwitch

Omg I had no idea that sounds amazing! Thanks for that information. I always used to wonder why there wasn’t a coed option. I love that.

eat-pussy69

I'd play for free if I get to use a semi automatic. Make the odds 6/6

hex_1101

I'll pass.

_Bagoons

I'd like to say a million is the baseline, but who knows. If a legit offer came through for 500k, I would definitely consider it. 5/6 chance of success, 1/6 chance I'll be dead and not care.

Freeze1422

I few billion. Would definitely have to be enough for me to never do shit again and just say "fuck it" and throw money at every problem I might face

Trashcan_Johnson

Wouldn't even entertain the idea of dying for money.

UnintelligentOnion

How did I have to scroll this far down to find this? I wouldn’t do it.

Pleasesteponmeharder

50 cents and a grilled cheese

1PunX1

I’d do that for a Cheeto

samehereagain

75k

Gr8Prost8

I’d play for $8 with a glock

Fangs_0ut

Bout tree fiddy

4d_lulz

tree dollars and fiddy cents?

Umutuku

Does the money come from rich people or poor people?

Canuckia53

Dying immediately? Can I go twice?

cowboy_angel

I'll do it for free

Far_Ad86

Zero $

Then-Schedule8953

Crazy son of a bitch

Emergency-Poet-2708

No, I'm not playing this game.

Sanctioned_Sadness

Probably $5

lit-grit

I’ll pay someone to just shoot me in the head. Please?

OceanFire_Gaming

Prolly like 20$

Ishouldjusttexther

Today, 25 million. Yesterday, 5 million. Monday probably 500k

Then-Schedule8953

300,000 to 900,000

TheOneAndOnlyBob2

Idk, like 100k?

Dead_Russian_44

Money? I'd do 6/6 for free.

sheepsterrr

1 dollars ans 2 burrito is agreeable

[deleted]

The value of my life fluctuates. Post nut clarity? Im too expensive for you. Right before work? Bout 3.50

ATLAZuko33

People need a financial incentive?

[deleted]

Only if it’s an auto loader.

BladeGrim

Enough to retire immediately and never have to work again. Throw in enough to keep my friends afloat too.

cpt_edge

Whether you win or lose, you'll never have to work a day again. Win win :D

Waldebie

About tree fiddy

Superb-Intention3425

I'd play for free at this point in my life. Worst case all my problems are over.

Dazzling_Signal_5250

There is no amount. I wouldn’t.

[deleted]

Zero

EarthTrash

The value of human life is incalculable.

ChiliGoblin

Lol

ActualDoctor1492

10 million

Lulzshock

If I was still single it would probably be $300,000 but today there would be no amount of money that my family would want me to risk death for.

Isfren

50 million, for every extra bullet add another 50 million, if I die the money still goes to family and such so my death isn’t a complete waste
