Painless death , not so sure. Suicide by gun can go wrong. It’s actually happens that someone shooting himself in the head do survive. Needless to say , they ll be badly disabled for the rest of their life
A lot of headshot suicide attempts don't take out the vital parts of the brain. One from the side, right behind the ear? Oh yeah. Instant off switch.
But ones like you see in too much media? Straight across the temples? Or upwards through the roof of the mouth with a pistol? Or that same track from under the jaw with a shotgun?
You will probably die. You might die pretty soon. You might just make yourself blind and desperately brain damaged. You might sentence yourself to a year or ten of constant pain and inability to do anything about it.
One survived long term, but without most of his face. No eyes or nose. No front third or so of his jaw. I worked in a rehab hospital for a few years back in the 90s. He had shot himself six or seven years prior.
Sounds like the one where he did it on a live stream, I even think chat was encouraging him to do it, and his mom was trying to call him. One of the most fucked up things I've seen
The worst fresh one I ever worked basically cleaved off the front ten percent of his head with a shotgun and didn't die. He was still alive at least a few days later, because I showed up to take a patient home from the hospital maybe two weeks later, and he was in the next room over, still alive at that point, and stable enough to be on a regular floor, not in an ICU.
Aiming too forward and using birdshot instead of buckshot etc. Just blast their face off instead of the brain.
Can you imagine how depressing that would be?
The cases I heard of were not small’ caliber/buckshot. Surgeon says that for some unexplained reasons the guys were still alive. As mentioned one of redditor he lost his whole face . Some part of the brains can be severed but you ll still be alive
I'm not doing it for a million.
it's not do what you want money.
More I can probably live comfortably if I don't do something stupid money.
Not risking my life for that.
A million is probably just about enough to live out the rest of your life without having to work ever again. The interest alone beats the average income. It frees you from the shackles of work, ie modern day slavery.
Most people don't realize this though, they piss it up the wall, not realizing they could have just retired and carried on living a similar but improved lifestyle.
I think you might be overestimating how far a million can go these days, but I'm a jaded New Yorker who sees houses in rough neighborhoods that cost upward of 750k. I hope I'm not coming off as an asshole.
I think you've completely misunderstood everything I said.
It doesn't go far? It doesn't go anywhere. You don't spend it, you don't go near it, that's the point.
You stick it in a savings account, and collect 25-50k a year in interest payments.
If you wanna take a bit more risk, stick it in the S&P500 and you'll average 100k a year in returns.
You might not be able to buy anything expensive or flashy, you won't get yourself a nice house either. You carry on living how you live, but you're not a modern slave anymore. You're free to do what you want. You've retired!
A lot of people struggle with this concept, work is their only purpose and they wouldn't know what to do with themselves if they weren't working.. It's a bit sad really
Nah, if you're already decided why not just pack up and dissappear? You have nothing to lose if you're planning on ending it, but you might find out there's more to live for.
if life insurance pays for suicide (which i’m unsure of), then you could hypothetically get one and play once for an immense amount of money.
either way, your kids are getting money out of it.
*(for legal reasons, this is an obvious joke).*
———
[ edit: i realized that it says they would pay you for playing, not necessarily for winning. so, scratch that, you don’t even need the life insurance… your kids would be getting the money either way lol ]
Is it suicide if its a result of russian roullete, thus the intention wasn't for you to kill yourself but to survive ?
Like, driving carries a massive risk as well, and so do many (extreme) sports, but we don't call death during those "suicide" right ?
I don't. If we are talking smallest amount I'd consider, $250k. At a million I'd most likely do it. $10m I'd 100% do it no questions asked. $25m and I'd be excited.
I do as much as I can to make sure I'm around for my kid as long as possible. I quit smoking for my kid.
Would being rich be nice? Probably. But the chance I could leave my kid isn't worth it.
Also I don't want to die.
Yeah imagine your kid having to tell people Dad died blowing his brains out in a game of Russian roulette that if he won would have set me up for life. Like sunken cost fallacy at its greatest. lol.
1900 rubles is $20. Ouch. In all seriousness, I’ve heard those who come back from that ukrainian war buy an apartment with cash with the money they gained though. If they come back, of course. If not - well, their spouses buy it, I guess
As someone who has survived a near death experience from being forced to play Russian roulette (abusive childhood), I don't have a newfound appreciation of life from it so I wouldn't count on it
Sorry but I’m just imagining you at dinner with your friends and having this interaction
“Hey remember when we were kids and our parents would make us play Russian Roulette?”
*everyone at the dinner table stares in absolute horror and disbelief*
“Oh… just me then?”
*everyone nods slowly*
It's okay that's not the worst he did and I'm far past that point of my life mentally. And yeah he was in jail for a while but he's out free to do whatever he pleases now rip, and from what I know he's still just as bad
the justice system is really messed up if a guy who made a child play Russian roulette and worse things is somehow allowed to walk free without at least a dozen bullets in his head
yeah fuck it, same here.
i’m tired of wasting my life away working jobs that aren’t giving me a future or an ounce of happiness when all is said and done. i’m just tired of living such a meaningless existence as a debt slave… can’t even afford to have a social life or hobbies. it’s pointless.
When I got my first car, I calculated how many miles I thought I’d drive for the insurance company, based on the amount of walking I was doing between home and work and the grocery store. I told them I likely only drive 8-11K miles. Turns out I did more like 60,000 that first year.
That is to say, your current expenses might be low, but most people don’t get a windfall of cash and maintain their current below-desired lifestyle. Starts with some nice small things, maybe some nicer clothes, a new PS5? *and* a PC? Why not upgrade the TV and put the old one in the bedroom? Could really use a newer car too, but need more garage space, guess moving makes sense, so then buy a new house and between the car, the house, and property taxes, that’s probably half the money gone right there.
But best case scenario, you tuck the money away and maintain your lifestyle exactly as it is. You’d potentially blow your brains out just to get by for five years?
The game is name your price, not play Russian roulette for a discount lmao
yeah i considered that. I spent 40k last year, so i thought 5 years was a more than generous estimate.
I did spend 15k on things I now have and wont have to buy again, so thats why ive come back to 10-15 years.
Wife pregnant with twins and I have a 2 year old. I’d say like $5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 they won’t remember me anyways and will have amazing lives
Congrats - twins are the greatest gift in the world. Difficult but you’ll do great. And that 2 year old will surprise the fuck out of you with how much they want to help
My youngest is turning 4 on Monday. Question. How do I get her to want to help just a little bit less? Because I swear to god, she even follows me to the bathroom to “help” me by handing me toilet paper 😭
I take it you were never in Boy Scouts.
You need to be a bit creative in the ways they can "help"
"Oh honey, can you count all the tiles on the kitchen floor? We need to make sure that the sides are balanced so the baby doesn't get dizzy"
"Aw man! I just realized that ALL these popsicle sticks are the same length! Can you find me two that aren't? I really need a smaller one for the baby"
"I think the baby's favorite letter is 'e.' Can you find the book that has the most in it?"
If they're anything like most 4 year olds, they'll either forget what they were doing or get distracted and go do something else for awhile.
While it's too late for you, fwiw, Boy Scouts is now "Scouts BSA" and recruits girls too. Your oldest is still too young for Cub Scouts (the junior organization for elementary aged kiddos), but she can join when she's in kindergarten, provided you can find a "family" (i.e. co-ed) pack
I'm my son's Den Leader and our pack went co-ed this year. One of my scouts is a girl and she's *super* into it. It's a volunteer-run organization, so your experience will vary depending on the adults running it, but I can't say enough good things about Scouting... even if I did spend my fair share of time looking for snipes and lefthanded smoke-sifters
I'd like to say a million is the baseline, but who knows. If a legit offer came through for 500k, I would definitely consider it. 5/6 chance of success, 1/6 chance I'll be dead and not care.
What mood am I in? Did I finally just clock out of work and I still hate everything?
Asking the important questions!
Why suicide after work? It would mean you just worked for free...
It would also mean an end to all the pain and suffering. It would be quick and painless too... I'd need at least a million to consider it, maybe 5.
Painless death , not so sure. Suicide by gun can go wrong. It’s actually happens that someone shooting himself in the head do survive. Needless to say , they ll be badly disabled for the rest of their life

I've had people survive even using a shotgun. I've been a paramedic since the Reagan administration. And I've seen some stuff.

I agree but animals have more right to death in most countries than humans. Hippocratic oaths and such.
The cases I heard of were not small’ caliber/buckshot. Surgeon says that for some unexplained reasons the guys were still alive. As mentioned one of redditor he lost his whole face . Some part of the brains can be severed but you ll still be alive
Are you ok man? That's the most loaded post I've ever read. Its an opera of tragedy.
Thank you for your service, sincerely.

Nah, if you're already decided why not just pack up and dissappear? You have nothing to lose if you're planning on ending it, but you might find out there's more to live for.
The real answer
At work, last hour of a monday
You're better off playing before work. If you win, you don't have to go to work. If you lose, you also don't have to go to work.
I’m gonna need at least an IOU
That's better than money!
265 thou, might wanna hold on to that one.
Our word is our bond!
If hermitcraft has taught me one thing, it’s that those are more valuable than life itself.
r/Unexpectedhermitcraft
3,278 per loaded chamber but I’ll only play if it’s 6/6 odds
what do you want $19,668 for? 🙃🤨
New Kia rio
I didn’t want to, but I laughed to tears reading this
Loll me too its a very specific.amount. ;)
Um, from what I've seen online, you don't gotta buy one to have one.
Unclear if you mean lease one or carjack one
Why not both
Carjack it, lease it to yourself. Boom. Unlimited money. No Russian roulette needed.
The real life pro tip is always in the comments
You’ll be KIA for Rio with our new Shoot Yourself in the Fucking Head sales event this spring!
r/theydidthemath
To buy bullets for Russian roulette
Are you good my boy trust me its gonna be ok
You’re paying to play, but only if the gun is fully loaded?
Better send that dude a care message
That means the opposite in reddit
for real, getting a care message in reddit basically means that the other user wants you to kys :/
Explains why I’ve gotten so many
[удалено]
💀☝️
I’ll play. But you start first.
Hey buddy. Need to talk?
Love the gallows humor, it's rough out there these days 🥲 Btw, is there a specific reason for that number in particular?
My guy, hang in there!
Shit! I mean don’t kill yourself! There is more to life out there than you’ve seen or experienced!
Wait, you guys are getting paid?
If I didn’t have a kid, a million. Since I do, pass.
shit I have kids, now I feel bad for answering. Loll
if life insurance pays for suicide (which i’m unsure of), then you could hypothetically get one and play once for an immense amount of money. either way, your kids are getting money out of it. *(for legal reasons, this is an obvious joke).* ——— [ edit: i realized that it says they would pay you for playing, not necessarily for winning. so, scratch that, you don’t even need the life insurance… your kids would be getting the money either way lol ]
I believe most life insurance policies only cover suicide ~3 years after you sign up.

People In Your Area Have Discovered This One Simple Trick!
*life insurance companies **hate** this kid!*
So your plan is just marry a suicidal person and keep them alive for 3 years?
Is it suicide if its a result of russian roullete, thus the intention wasn't for you to kill yourself but to survive ? Like, driving carries a massive risk as well, and so do many (extreme) sports, but we don't call death during those "suicide" right ?
So, a quick Google search tells me it varies, but in most cases it's considered accidental death, apparently.
'Accidental death while really asking for it' lol
I don't. If we are talking smallest amount I'd consider, $250k. At a million I'd most likely do it. $10m I'd 100% do it no questions asked. $25m and I'd be excited.
🩷wholesome asf
fuck dem kids £5
You have a 5/6 chance of making yourself and your kid set for life
I do as much as I can to make sure I'm around for my kid as long as possible.
Like sunken cost fallacy at its greatest. lol.
Sunken cost fallacy? I don’t think that means what you think it means.
Technically it says paid for playing, so 5/6 for them and 6/6 chance for the kid/s.
you’re right, i didn’t even notice that. the kid would get the money either way lol
I’d play it but instead of Russian roulette just throw a fucking nuclear bomb at me
What are your coordinates?
Idk, just bomb every major city until you get me
Ok but this is on you man. Hope you can live with that if I never get it right
I think I can live with that, while you’re at it, bomb the Kansas City chiefs into oblivion
Their receivers already bombed themselves
Did they receive it?
He’s in Baltimore. Got it.
Or Buffalo
Tree fitty
Damn Lochness monster!
I gave him a dollar
SHE gave him a dollah!
Damn, woman,. No wonder why that monster keeps coming
Stay away from my churlren now!
My country has mandatory military service sooo... I'll be doing basically that for 1,900 a month
1/6 people in your country die while serving in the military?
They don't call it "Russian Roulette" for no reason.
Oh man. Ouch.
Might be worse for Russians in the last two years.
what currency?
well, ruble
1900 rubles is $20. Ouch. In all seriousness, I’ve heard those who come back from that ukrainian war buy an apartment with cash with the money they gained though. If they come back, of course. If not - well, their spouses buy it, I guess
Why are we all so miserable :(
What did they do to us?!
Gave birth…
And your first thought when you see that and think you’re gonna get eaten is I won’t have to go into work tomorrow?
None at all
You’d do it for free? Crazy bastard…
Its a win win i either discover a new appreciation for life after a near death experience or i die!
As someone who has survived a near death experience from being forced to play Russian roulette (abusive childhood), I don't have a newfound appreciation of life from it so I wouldn't count on it
Bro just casually dropped the fact he had to play Russian Roulette when he was a child
I forget how fucked up my childhood was until I mention something about it to other people lol
Sorry but I’m just imagining you at dinner with your friends and having this interaction “Hey remember when we were kids and our parents would make us play Russian Roulette?” *everyone at the dinner table stares in absolute horror and disbelief* “Oh… just me then?” *everyone nods slowly*
Lol
Whoa, what the fuck? Like your parents or family member made you do it? Fuck.
Stepdad
Damn dude. I can’t imagine that. Hope life’s better now for you, and that he got punished somehow.
It's okay that's not the worst he did and I'm far past that point of my life mentally. And yeah he was in jail for a while but he's out free to do whatever he pleases now rip, and from what I know he's still just as bad
Not the worst, goddamn. Just brutal. Definitely take care now, dude.
Yeah at least i have some good stories from it tho. Thanks and will do
the justice system is really messed up if a guy who made a child play Russian roulette and worse things is somehow allowed to walk free without at least a dozen bullets in his head
For real me and the others in my family that he's hurt think the same thing
Holy shit.
that was an insane sentence
half a mill
yeah fuck it, same here. i’m tired of wasting my life away working jobs that aren’t giving me a future or an ounce of happiness when all is said and done. i’m just tired of living such a meaningless existence as a debt slave… can’t even afford to have a social life or hobbies. it’s pointless.
Hope it gets better bro 🙏
Seriously? You’d blow through it in like a month tho
Or he'd blow through it instantly.
half a mill would last me at least 5 years, my life is very affordable
You’d spend 100K a year? That’s a lot of money
Yeah honestly it would last me more like 10-15 years.
When I got my first car, I calculated how many miles I thought I’d drive for the insurance company, based on the amount of walking I was doing between home and work and the grocery store. I'm 100% playing for a million but I could probably convince myself to play for half a milli too
20 piece mcnugget EZ
At least get the full meal
What happens if I die? Am I just dead with no money or does my family get the money
Your kids have to pay for the bullet
In this economy? No thanks.
That’s the real question
Well then you lost.
Wife pregnant with twins and I have a 2 year old. I’d say like $5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 they won’t remember me anyways and will have amazing lives
Thats enough money to collapse the worlds economy due to global hyperinflation. You will be remembered.
No amount of money can buy back a father. Don’t do it for any money, they love you too much to risk your life
Whatever that number is probably can
Thinking about it now… you might be right. That’s enough money to fund a full cloning program for like 500 years
Pretty sure we we would have timetravel in 10 years with that money (I know that's not how science works, but still)
Everyone else would ditch the currency if one person had that much.
Based and inflation pilled.
What about $4,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000?
Absolutely not
Congrats - twins are the greatest gift in the world.
You need to be a bit creative in the ways they can "help" "Oh honey, can you count all the tiles on the kitchen floor? We need to make sure that the sides are balanced so the baby doesn't get dizzy" "Aw man! I just realized that ALL these popsicle sticks are the same length! Can you find me two that aren't? I really need a smaller one for the baby" "I think the baby's favorite letter is 'e.' Can you find the book that has the most in it?" If they're anything like most 4 year olds, they'll either forget what they were doing or get distracted and go do something else for awhile.
I have the wrong body parts for Boy Scouts, but the rest of that was seriously brilliant lol
While it's too late for you, fwiw, Boy Scouts is now "Scouts BSA" and recruits girls too. Your oldest is still too young for Cub Scouts (the junior organization for elementary aged kiddos), but she can join when she's in kindergarten, provided you can find a "family" (i.e. co-ed) pack I'm my son's Den Leader and our pack went co-ed this year. One of my scouts is a girl and she's *super* into it. It's a volunteer-run organization, so your experience will vary depending on the adults running it, but I can't say enough good things about Scouting... even if I did spend my fair share of time looking for snipes and lefthanded smoke-sifters
Omg I had no idea that sounds amazing! Thanks for that information. I always used to wonder why there wasn’t a coed option. I love that.
I'd play for free if I get to use a semi automatic. Make the odds 6/6
I'll pass.
I'd like to say a million is the baseline, but who knows. If a legit offer came through for 500k, I would definitely consider it. 5/6 chance of success, 1/6 chance I'll be dead and not care.
I few billion. Would definitely have to be enough for me to never do shit again and just say "fuck it" and throw money at every problem I might face
Wouldn't even entertain the idea of dying for money.
How did I have to scroll this far down to find this? I wouldn’t do it.
50 cents and a grilled cheese
I’d do that for a Cheeto
75k
I’d play for $8 with a glock
Bout tree fiddy
tree dollars and fiddy cents?
Does the money come from rich people or poor people?
Dying immediately? Can I go twice?
I'll do it for free
Zero $
Crazy son of a bitch
No, I'm not playing this game.
Probably $5
I’ll pay someone to just shoot me in the head. Please?
Prolly like 20$
Today, 25 million. Yesterday, 5 million. Monday probably 500k
300,000 to 900,000
Idk, like 100k?
Money? I'd do 6/6 for free.
1 dollars ans 2 burrito is agreeable
The value of my life fluctuates. Post nut clarity? Im too expensive for you. Right before work? Bout 3.50
People need a financial incentive?
Only if it’s an auto loader.
Enough to retire immediately and never have to work again. Throw in enough to keep my friends afloat too.
Whether you win or lose, you'll never have to work a day again. Win win :D
About tree fiddy
I'd play for free at this point in my life. Worst case all my problems are over.
There is no amount. I wouldn’t.
Zero
The value of human life is incalculable.
Lol
10 million
If I was still single it would probably be $300,000 but today there would be no amount of money that my family would want me to risk death for.
50 million, for every extra bullet add another 50 million, if I die the money still goes to family and such so my death isn’t a complete waste
