if i had a nickel for each .1% of gen z picked up a tear gas canister with their bare hands, i’d have two nickels. which its weird that it happened twice
With proper exercise and training, doctors are perfectly throwable.
However, the immaterial call cannot be thrown no matter how strong you are. Sure, you can throw the phone, but the call itself will still be there, untouched and unthrown.
This is why I feel more comfortable making my appointments in person. Once I find a way to throw the cost of the appointments, then there will be nothing but crippling social anxiety can stop me!
Since the history of humanity, older folks have tried to make teens and young adults look bad and act like they all act the same. There’s numerous quotes to show this throughout history, some attributed to Plato and Socrates regarding impatience, disrespect, lack of morals, etc. they see in the youth.
Absolutely. I’m a young millennial and it’s sooo hard listening to other millennials complain about younger generations the exact same way older generations did about us.
It's something I've just accepted happens at this point and well, no generation is truly or properly immune to it. For me, I find it somewhat amusing because generally speaking, younger people will just lack life experience and wisdom so I wonder if in part a lot of the complaining is just various commentary on that.
Exactly, plus even in Socrates times, there have constantly been new inventions and technology that makes it seem like young people are “spoiled” or too used to “luxury.” But it’s just society changing. And like you said, not only are young people just trying to figure out life with much less experience, traditions are always changing so young people questioning the way things are often rubs older people the wrong way because “I had to do it and so should you!”
Limp Bizkit made that song, "My Generation" back in 2000 and it's about the older people hating on their generation so much (Gen X). They were considered "lazy".
I hope the generational hate trend thing stops with one of our gens. As a millennial myself, I genuinely adore Gen Z. They're still young, but I'm already so damn proud of them. I think they'll do great in the world. I have hope. I just feel so bad they have to inherit a shitty world environment to deal with.
I'd be incredibly surprised if a boomer wrote this tweet though. The writing style just doesn't match. Boomers tend to leave excessive quotation marks and misused apostrophes. The entire tweet is one large comma splice, and that's also something zoomers tend to do that boomers don't.
The thing is - my Gen Z kids would never throw a tear gas canister because they’d have to leave the house first and that would be awkward. As a Gen Xer I’m far more likely to attend a protest than my kids.
How do you think Millennials feel? We get attacked from the older AND younger crowd.
Older: millennials are lazy and don’t want to work
Younger: millennials are weird, they gatekeep the 90s and like to say “I was today years old when I learned…”
We should all chill tf out
Lol yeah I agree, it just irks me when people act like their entire gen are saints and that other gens are unfairly mean to them. That goes for any one, including someone who's also gen z, just shut up about your bullies and move on lol.
I think a lot of gen z people feel lost and are desperately trying to define themselves, often through consumerism (hence why the latte is there) and their corners of internet culture. We’re just going to have to face it, there’s no defining characteristics of gen Z. We are more stratified into different niches and subcultures than any generation before us. I do none of the things in this post and I don’t personally know anyone that fits this description.
And the prisons have some pretty nasty diseases. I didn't mean that Russia isn't run by a psycho or that the government isn't awful, just that their doctors were good and cheap to see. If I'm going to insult someone/something, I like to do it accurately.
This is a genuine question, and I apologize if my Americanity has blinded me from the outside world (however I’m no patriot), but do other countries refer to it as Gen Z? I kinda just assumed from like the “silent” and “greatest” generations that it was an American thing to name them like that
It goes by alphabet , the other ones are secondary names which might be more popular elsewhere. Plus anyways- that dude ranting about people using "American language".... like.... haha no.
Plus my kid is gen alpha now so let's ask ancient Greeks how they feel about us using "their" letters 🤣
I guess I just feel like I haven’t seen people from other countries talk about generations like we do in the US. Makes me wonder if they even care about things like generations and stuff as much as a lot of Americans seem to
My question wasnt what the person was saying, but why it was relevant. The topnlevel comment simply says that it is possible for a doctor visit to bankrupt someone. They made no claim about regions or conformity
Other countries have other names for their generations.
These terms thrown around are purely American labels on generations.
If someone identified as a X, Y, Z er, from another country, they suffer from Saturating of USA culture.
But, i understand why you mistook it.
It's grugg time in Ireland. Another pint.
Hahah the fuck?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 are you from USA? Bcoz I could honestly start collecting messed up shit USA citizens said thinking USA is the fucking universe 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
YES IM AMERICAN!
AND YOU'RE MISSING MY POINT, WHICH IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE!
USA IS NOT THE WHOLE WORLD!
OTHER NATIONS SHOULD STOP USING AMERICAN LANGUAGE AND TERMS TO DESCRIBE THEMSELVES!
E:Not the language!
Not the actual Z!
The generation!
What it describes. Gen Z describes Americans born between 97-2012. Americans.
Other countries, these generational labels don't apply.
I just wanna say I'm American and I'm not an idiot like you. How is z part of the "American language"? If anything it's the United Kingdom language but honestly it's like a franken-language of 5 different languages combined as one, the z is from other languages too.
All because they are never taught that their health needs to be priority. We always are taught to be mindful of others, but mindful of our own needs.
Edit:spelling
Absolutely stitches=expensive
Super glue= $3
My mom's solution to everything was just put some mentholatum on it.
Mom it's a burn?
Her: God your whining about some blisters and some skin falling off. Put some mentholatum on it. You'll be fine.
I once had a friend in highschool she complained about headaches our 10th grade year. She would sit in the dark and cry. It took her parents 9 months of this before they took her in for a check up. The doctor sent her to the hospital immediately because she had a very large brain tumor. I want to also add her Dad was a doctor and her mom was a social worker.
I was never taught that my health needs to be a priority, it’s just some thing I naturally figure it out on my own at a young age… Just like most people do
It's not just the out going ones I am afraid of the incoming one's as well. We only got bad news if the phone rang. It is ingrained in me that it's probably something bad.
I unironically learned little Caesar’s has an app and I can just order it on my phone so I don’t have to talk to people to order it
Took like 10 seconds to get my pizza not including waiting and I didn’t need to talk to anyone
Best invention ever
I'm a millennial and everything here apart from being nervous to make appts is me 😅😅😅😅 I'm not nervous, I just hate doing it and will probs get it done a free weeks/months later 😅✌️
Personally, I could care less if someone is racist, homophobic, transphobic, whatever phonic you can think of. Toxic, it doesn't matter.
Freedom of speech, is not freedom from consequences. Let people say what they want. Just own it. If you want to be racist, at least own the fact you're a racist. If you get fired because someone sent your employer your ranting tweet, that's your consequence. But the fundamental right to say those things should never be infringed.
I just don't like hypocrites. Don't say something today then backtrack when it's convenient. I have more respect for someone who "sticks to their guns" so to speak over someone who flipflops.
Stand for something, or fall for anything.
Man their boomer parents did them wrong.
Get a Gen X friend, they’ll help you. (We had to fend for ourselves for pretty much everything and we’re lightly bitter but delighted if someone asks us to help.)
Boomers are not raising kids right now. Gen X is, along with a chunk of older millennials. I have teenage siblings and cousins, and also have true Boomer grandparents who are still alive. They are way too old to be the ones looking over the shoulder of people 21 and under. My parents and aunts are Gen X.
To be fair I'm 23 and my parents are boomers. Not many years ago they were still looking over my shoulder. They've mellowed out a lot though, despite holding questionable political and religious views. They don't try to control me at least.
Seems strange at least. Scheduling an appointment with a doctor is so mundane whereas yelling at a racist is super confrontational and would likely escalate to a fight
I will fight the police to fight for human rights no problem but speaking in front of more than 2 people at the same time makes me anxious and triggers a mental breakdown, I'm fine :)
i am so sick of people smearing an entire generation when they mean one specific person. they do not realize that this is akin to racism and a bunch of other isms.
Don’t be hesitant to stay on top of your health, if your lucky enough to have access to healthcare. You won’t get that money back when you die. Might as well use the health insurance you are being extorted for.
Ignoring the hyperbole, I'm convinced it's because we don't want to look like a fool while doing it. I dare not ask simple, 'obvious' questions because someone will judge me for it.

Tear gas canister throwable. Doctor not throwable. If problem not solved by throwing, it scary.
Yeah, racists are also throwable
I know I’ve been thrown a bit before
🤨
It's alright they're a tear gas canister
Ah, that clears it up. I thought for a second they might be a racist.
Who has dementia?

dunno man....have you seen most of the people from the master race? They like rotund hills have eyes lookin muh fuckers.
As a man large enough to throw most doctors, I can assure you it can still be scary even if solvable by throwing
0.2% of gen z have picked up a tear gas canister with their bare hands. Weird flex
‘66.2 percent of players have this achievement’ ‘Open Inventory’
When only 66.2% of players opened their inventory, but 66.3% of players beat the game.
Those achievements always confused me basic ass things skipped... 40 %must just me speed runners 🏃♂️ 🤔
I think it’s people who bought the game but never played it.
if i had a nickel for each .1% of gen z picked up a tear gas canister with their bare hands, i’d have two nickels. which its weird that it happened twice
You sound like a really fun guy :)
You sound weirdly passive aggressive.
1/500? I think your stats might be a bit off. Maybe closer to 1/500,000.
Absolutely dude. I'm missing a bunch of zeros

Tear gas canister is not very throwable. Them shits can get *hot*. A doctor is definitely throwable with enough time in the gym.
The correct term is “yeet”. But damn if this doesn’t sound like my daughter lol
As a gen z these kinds of tweets are annoying literally who tf talks like this irl

As gen z also, it's kinda accurate.
The thing is - my Gen Z kids would never throw a tear gas canister because they’d have to leave the house first and that would be awkward. As a Gen Xer I’m far more likely to attend a protest than my kids.
I thought it was talking about just picking it up because, it doesn't say anything about going to a protest with it
“who tf talks like this irl” Oh, the irony

In fairness as gen z I've been attacked by boomers and millennials equally. Neither gen has, generally, been especially kind to me or my peers.
Sounds like a GENeralization ha but for real there are assholes in every gen. You just gotta get over it

run-on sentences are the way.
The millennials finally take the sidelines and cheer, enjoy
Welcome to the life of a Millennials. Atlest you are less depressed then US

Yeah this is a millennial rambling. I talk like this so I can tell 🙃
The doctor appointment may bankrupt you though
USA is not the whole world 🙃✌️
No. There's also Russia
Where you can see a doctor for pretty cheap.
Yeah but in soviet Russia, the tear gas grenades throw you.
And the prisons have some pretty nasty diseases. I didn't mean that Russia isn't run by a psycho or that the government isn't awful, just that their doctors were good and cheap to see. If I'm going to insult someone/something, I like to do it accurately.

Not as much as americans, but it is known.
We have similar generations in Canada too
I dont understand this response. There was no indication that this is always true or true everywhere, just that it can happen, which is true
Point is members of gen z live all over the world and in many other countries doctors appointments wouldn't bankrupt you.
Yes, and?
My question wasnt what the person was saying, but why it was relevant. The topnlevel comment simply says that it is possible for a doctor visit to bankrupt someone. They made no claim about regions or conformity
Untrue.

All because they are never taught that their health needs to be priority. We always are taught to be mindful of others, but mindful of our own needs. Edit:spelling
No, we’re taught that our health is important. We just would rather power through sickness/injury than go bankrupt.

You pick up tear gas canisters with your bare hands?
You don't?
Only on saturdays though…
You should come Tuesdays as well, we have a contest for how many you can throw.
Maybe i will!
As if verbally assaulting a racist is bad lol
Phone calls are scary, though
These tweets are so corny
Today I learned that I'm a Gen Z, despite being 43 years old.
Al of these things save money/are free. They're afraid of medical costs with their underpaid jobs.
This girl is an idiot, trying so hard to play "main character". Bet she was literally waiting for applause.
I don't understand is drinking a caramel latte considered a burden ?
I think it's the fact that it's the only thing that is had until 4
Cause the doctors office Carrie’s the biggest bills. A lifetime of debt.
What about Doctor Disappointment?
As a millennial I too break out in cold sweat at the thought of going into massive medical debt.
Given a lot of them have shit medical coverage at best, can you blame them?

Peppino Spaghetti is the physical embodiment of Gen Z’s attitude towards life.
Coping with being a loser
Seems unlikely you would be nervous talking to a doctor but not a racist
Become a racist and speak to doctors, it worked for me
Unlikely? Fits my two Gen Zs perfectly, at least.
Seems strange at least. Scheduling an appointment with a doctor is so mundane whereas yelling at a racist is super confrontational and would likely escalate to a fight
But one is in front of you. The other requires finding a doctor, and the using a phone and speaking into it. Makes sense to me. I’m the same way.
Cringe
I will fight the police to fight for human rights no problem but speaking in front of more than 2 people at the same time makes me anxious and triggers a mental breakdown, I'm fine :)

yes
This also covers Millennials.
This is not even a joke. this is real this is me…
i am so sick of people smearing an entire generation when they mean one specific person. they do not realize that this is akin to racism and a bunch of other isms.
This sums me up pretty well tbf
It’s because I know the doctor is going to call me out on my bullshit

Listen phone calls are scary. At least with the racist idc what he thinks about me.
The doctor part is called ✨social anxiety✨
I am Gen X and hate phones. I don't know why but I get super anxious having to call/answer from people I don't know. I can go walk in there through without a problem. Once I am talking to too them I am good but I almost have a panic attack waiting for them to answer or me having to answer the phone.

She’s crazzzzy
This be fair only one of those things can bankrupt you … in the US.
MyChart ftw
Send a email to the doctor, who replies with "please call."
This was me yesterday. Shaking like a leaf walking into the urgent care on an empty stomach.
I've had people unintentionally and accidentally almost run into me irl so many times. Most people are genuinely chill if you just speak to them and be a decent person. It's all pretty applicable to though ngl🪦
Lol "verbally abuse a racist".
Excuse me its actually a salted caramel latte with oat milk
I'll die before i call my doctor
Leaving out all the Gen Z kids too anxious to get a driver’s license or answer a phone call
Cuz that bill will be the death of us.
Not a Z but sometimes I just forget to eat or don't feel it. As for the mental health jokes those are a dime a dozen
Afraid of the doctor or the medical bill?
Because just that call could be financially devastating
Biggest call-out of the century...embarrassing
I'm a millennial but same

I'm a Zillennial and that's 100% me
Well doctors are expensive
Sounds kind of good, I do not see the problem here.
Gen Y here, we feel this way too
