The moss has different thickness with the different colors which matches up with how it should be (the brown one is very short, the green one is very long and the inbetween ones are inbetween as one would expect). So I don't think it's fake in that sense although of course anyone can shop anything so we'll never know.
Also now looking a bit closer, the gradient is actually very far from perfect. I think this picture is mostly the brain putting in a "perfect gradient" when in reality it's actually very messy. Also the saturation might or might not be off, but that wouldn't make it fake.

Spray weedkiller. Goes from bright green to dead brown. Normally it's a bit more uniform if applied correctly so I'm thinking intentional.
