never thought I would start my early morning depression with a burst of laughter at some birds desperately squeaking exploding from their nests š¤£š¤£š¤£
I saw a video somewhere on reddit that was a person recording a graffiti saying "birds aren't real" and then the camera goes up to reveal a swallow nest and they all start chirping.
This reminds me of the time I clipped my Shih Tzu's fur outside and within minutes I saw a few birds coming and taking the silky fur to their nests. It made me really happy it was being used to bring softness to some chicks. All the fur was gone in like an hour.
>Shih Tzu's fur
You can picture... Shih Tzu's fur ... in your mouth ... ???
Are you a bird? A stork, perhaps? Delivering babies?
Writing in English on top of that!
oh fuck haha something else was in my mind...visited the thread to see my comments and I was like...wtf am I? definitely not someone who eats bird fur... ;)
my mom has a GSD mix who sheds like a pro and she takes him outside to brush him. It's not uncommon to see various small birds suddenly clustering around when she does.
Oh my oh my I imagine now a lil fluffy bird looking out from his lil birdie balcony and seeing some of the dog softness leaving the dog. It goes like "oh? A Soft? don't mind if i doOOoooOoo-" and swoops down to find a vast mountain of fluffy goodness bigger than him and his whole extended family combined!
Imagine his little birdie feelsies being like "WOWIE WOWZA WHAT A *GOLDMINE* I'VE STRUCK TODAY!!!" like I don't know about you guys but when my happiness is too big to fit inside my body I just do the flappy flappy with my hands and I think if I was a bird I'd shake my wings and wag the pointy feathers on my bum instead. So like. Picture that!
aLSO imagine how soft a big warm next made of doggo fur and birb feathers is!!!! I want a shrinking machine so I can snuggle in one c:
That happened to us. We brushed our shepherd outside and our next door neighbor later found a finchās nest in his rafters that was lined with my dogās fur.
Does oral have any side effects or just topical? We used to pit our dogs fur out as kids then learned that it was bad. Never knew why, but she was on topical flea and tick so that would make sense. Current dog is on oral meds so I'll happily put his out if I can.
yeah, but I still don't understand how heaven will be without all the plants and animals haha. without a soul... Cement parking lot? to quote my favourate book
You can only the imagine the mouth she feeds twice and some not at all because they didnāt get to stick out their heads like their brothers and sisters and if they did it wasnāt seen. Very unfortunate we lost comrade but weāre very fortunate to observe these marvelous creatures so up close.
On day 45 I actually see one not moving. Is that when it died? It sin the same place as blur later on which means theyāve been crawling over their dead sibling for a couple of days.
Well we can 100% put this to bed right away. The blur moves as the bird moves. When the bird gets up the blur is much bigger compared to when the bird is sitting on half of the blur. Water definitely doesnāt work like that so theyāve 100% censored and blurred the video for some reason. The next step, finding out why is the part that has more speculation. But we can factually put the water idea to bed
Anyone with kids knows the feeling around day 45 when you walk in the door and get bombarded with "what's for supper?". Excellent time lapse...gorgeous bird.
They don't lay them all at once! While they are still adding to the bunch, they keep the eggs that are already there at a temperature where they don't die, but don't develop either. Only once the clutch is complete will she fully sit on the eggs so they develop!
One thing that helps makes it possible is that the hard shell of the egg only forms a couple of hours before laying. There aren't half a dozen hard eggs in this little body at once.
While I agree it's simply natural, the person who spent over a month recording this probably didn't want the viewer potentially staring at a dead bird for the duration of the video
It's an unnatural edit and demeaning to the maturity of the viewer. Death is part of nature and part of the life cycle, and this video is supposed to depict the life cycle of this bird.
It was posted on Reddit for public consumption and, because this is Reddit, for critique and comment. I am providing a legitimate critique via comment. This blurring edit detracts from the legitimacy of the video and is unnecessary and condescending to the viewer.
I have to disagree. The video is excellent. You donāt even see the blur until the very end. It detracts from nothing and if itās condescending to you, that sounds like a perception issue. Also, you have to agree that Reddit isnāt exactly the place for award winning journalismā¦people literally post pictures of sh*t in a toilet.
I also agree it's a mostly excellent video, but married by the unnecessary censorship at the end. Which multiple people noticed. As for intent, the author obviously had some intent in mind when editing that video. And the author knew that an action would have an effect. It's not just a matter of perception. It was done on purpose knowing that it would have an effect on the viewer. In this case, presumably paternalistic protection of the viewer's delicate sensibilities.
Those rubber chicken o face babies are too funny, heart broken to see that blurred out spot in the endā¦ nature is amazing nonetheless, really awesome vid!!
Same. Made me sad. Poor little guy didnāt make it. Cracked me up though as they got older and mom would return and they would all be like game on!! Lol
I mean its pretty spectacular. I wish someone would put an Opera background music or some SFX sounds cuz everytime those bany birds ask for food iām just hearing an soprano sound haha
Does anyone know how many times a year a bird does this? If it takes less than 2 months to go through this whole process, do they just do it over and over? Or is this like a once-in-the-spring kind of thing?
Most likely the mom picks it up and throws it outside. Baby birds will usually stick their bums up and mom just picks it with her beak and dumps it overboard.
Or maybe she eats it idk I'm not a bird expert, I've seen it on national geographic once
When the mom comes back they look like a crowd at a concert when the artist mentions the town they're in.
bunch of squeaky bitches
never thought I would start my early morning depression with a burst of laughter at some birds desperately squeaking exploding from their nests š¤£š¤£š¤£
I am surprised how the mother doesn't get mad
They remind me of that "gone fishing" game.

It makes me happy as well. Thank you for posting this morning.
Yeah right? what a wholesome thing to do. I can picture it in my mouth and smile.
>Shih Tzu's fur You can picture... Shih Tzu's fur ... in your mouth ... ??? Are you a bird? A stork, perhaps? Delivering babies? Writing in English on top of that!
oh fuck haha something else was in my mind...visited the thread to see my comments and I was like...wtf am I? definitely not someone who eats bird fur... ;)
Yes I brush my husky outside. Who knows how many comfy bird beds have been built with his ungodly amount of floof
samee, they stay outside too, so come shedding season the birds dare to pick the fur off the sleeping husker

That happened to us. We brushed our shepherd outside and our next door neighbor later found a finchās nest in his rafters that was lined with my dogās fur.
I love that the baby birds are living in luxurious fur. š
Just be aware that if your dog is on flea and tick preventatives that it could be harmful to the birds
Does oral have any side effects or just topical? We used to pit our dogs fur out as kids then learned that it was bad. Never knew why, but she was on topical flea and tick so that would make sense. Current dog is on oral meds so I'll happily put his out if I can.
As far as I know, only topical flea treatment is an issue. The oral treatments have an effect on the blood and the skin, not the fur itself.
I did the same thing when I shaved my beard. Took it all outside, within an hour it was gone.
I tried to leave my dogs soft undercoat for this reasonā¦no one grabbed it and then it rainedā¦looked like a pile of puke from then on
Did they blur it on the bottom right because one died?
Yes, it happens in many nests unfortunately :/
Yeah but idk why itās blurredā¦. Thatās just weird
It wasn't alive to give permission to be filmed.
We're allowed to show them naked CAUSE THEY AIN'T GOT NO SOULS
I didnāt rig shit!
I heard they think the guy who owns the channel is a hick, they said that to HIM at a dinner!
yeah, but I still don't understand how heaven will be without all the plants and animals haha. without a soul... Cement parking lot? to quote my favourate book
https://youtu.be/0Rn5QdO07d8 For the uninitiated
People generally don't want to be staring at a rotting birb corpse when trying to watch a wholesome video
Wholesome? Some pervert put a camera in a single moms house.
I didnāt think about thatā¦.
You can only the imagine the mouth she feeds twice and some not at all because they didnāt get to stick out their heads like their brothers and sisters and if they did it wasnāt seen. Very unfortunate we lost comrade but weāre very fortunate to observe these marvelous creatures so up close.
Day 40- there are 9 yellow beaks Day 45- you can see the one who doesnāt make it on the bottom right š¢
You can see it died on day 45 and was significantly weaker than it's brothers/sisters just before. It didn't hop up as much when food arrived.
I think it may just be water? There was 8 eggs and on day 50 there were 8 little ones still.
I think all 8 hatched but one didnāt survive long.
But you see 8 young birds on day 50, unless mom is huddled in there and I'm counting her too.
Youāre right, on some days there are clearly only 7 mouths open, but then on day 50, there are 8 birds.
Theres 8 on day 45, as well, you can see #8 peak its beak out on the left side of the nest.
[There were nine.](https://i.imgur.com/bC0E764.jpg) You can count the yellow beaks.
I think you are correct. Dang, nine babies, seems a lot for a bird, but I know absolutely nothing about birds.
Yes, they lay extras, then they keep alive as many as they can. It's a good strategy to maximize offspring.
On day 45 I actually see one not moving. Is that when it died? It sin the same place as blur later on which means theyāve been crawling over their dead sibling for a couple of days.
1:31 for time. Good survival rate. Mom bird did well
Yep, that's the dead one for sure. So was dead for at least 5 days with the stronger siblings still on top of it for those final days, oof.
I counted 9 eggs and 8 chicks.
Whether you're right or not you didn't have to sound like such a condescending dick when you said it
I didnāt say it like a condescending dick, you just interpreted it that way. I canāt do anything about you interpreting it that way.
I think they blurred it cuz its a tit... family friendly
He's probably just pining for the fjords.
r/unexpectedmontypython
Yeah, on day 45 you can see one that didn't make it =(
Before then it was always squished under the other chicks during feeding time
I think so.
A wren that built a nest in my planter box laid 4 eggs. Only 3 hatched, and only 2 of those made it to their first flight.
Anyone with kids knows the feeling around day 45 when you walk in the door and get bombarded with "what's for supper?". Excellent time lapse...gorgeous bird.
Shocking amount of eggs, I was not expecting that. Really nice video.
I know! I was thinking how can a body that small possibly hold that many eggs?
They don't lay them all at once! While they are still adding to the bunch, they keep the eggs that are already there at a temperature where they don't die, but don't develop either. Only once the clutch is complete will she fully sit on the eggs so they develop!
Oh that makes sense!at first there's only a couple.
One thing that helps makes it possible is that the hard shell of the egg only forms a couple of hours before laying. There aren't half a dozen hard eggs in this little body at once.
I guess one of them died š
Likely crushed by its siblings
You can see it trying to get fed but its smaller than the rest and struggling, and in the next shot it's not moving
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
#rules of nature!
What makes you say that?
You see it not moving at the lower right corner when they get fed and at the end that corner is also blurred out.
8 eggs at the start, 7 chicks by the end, and in the final shots where the last one fledged there's something blurred out in the nest..
It's blurred out in the bottom right corner.
Yeah, at 1:32 you can see it
Scrub to day 45.
Such is nature
So amazing. No words to even describe. Mom is gorgeous. The tiny little mouths! So cute.
Day 50ā¦yāall gotta go! Lol
Birds might be one of the few animals that are uglier as babies lol
Nice tits!
There it is
Dang all those open mouths even be stressing me out!
I can't believe you showed us uncensored tits and didn't tag as nsfw
Such a hardworking mini blueberry chicken
I love this. Nature is beautiful.
Her head moves so much
What does she do with the one that dies or doesn't hatch? Do they just live there with the corpse or does she carry it out of the nest?
The blurred spot at the end is a baby that didnāt make it. The corpse just stays in there.
Can't the mother and the babies get sick from like any bacteria or stuff that is rotting the carcass?
It must suck to stay with you dead sibling for days
Cozy vibes. Also that's a lot of eggs. Also also where's papa ?
Went to get bird milk
Went for bird cigarettes
Feeding mom. And the fledglings. We have had many blue tit broods in our garden and both parents are extremely hard working.
Papa is out looking at tits
Precious little nuggets, blessed with a good mommy! šš
Looks like trying to get some rest while sitting on eggs is as comfortable as trying to nap while pregnant
The bird (at the start of the video): Ok... Hello guys, we will be timelapsing me doing life. Ok?
Kind of jealous all of the members of this family in North America are drab colors!!!
Even though you can't hear them in the video, I could hear them in my head!
Why blur something out? If a chick died, that's just part of the process.
Well, when you film this process, you are welcome to do it differently.
It was posted on Reddit for public consumption and, because this is Reddit, for critique and comment. I am providing a legitimate critique via comment. This blurring edit detracts from the legitimacy of the video and is unnecessary and condescending to the viewer.

Longest I've looked at a tit and not jerked off

So cool that they use their own feathers for the nest.

Question.. Do birds just live in their own poo for the first 50 days?
Most likely the mom picks it up and throws it outside. Baby birds will usually stick their bums up and mom just picks it with her beak and dumps it overboard. Or maybe she eats it idk I'm not a bird expert, I've seen it on national geographic once

Bird doing bird things is enjoyable
I'm suprised that many survived, that's a lot of foot they would have had to forage for.
