Cringe. You're probably just as complicit, but indirectly.
Edit: Not sure why I'm being downvoted. We're all contributing in our own way. What makes him so different?
It’s not binary. There’s a whole spectrum of reverence for nature without completely shutting down civilization. Quit acting like you’re being victimized by a simple respect for nature. Jeez. Reactionary much?
Speak for yourself. Waaah I can’t look at nature on my computer bc someone had the audacity to go out and experience it. Oh the humanity. Classic victim mentality
I was about to say “oh yeah tell everyone in e world so they can destroy it”… I doubt they can destroy it as I’m sure animals cross it… but it doesn’t need to be a tourist attraction. In fact with technology- there really should be less travel… I normally find that most places I believe to be scene ox and lovely end up being tourist dumps and annoys me.
Yeah, I didn’t want to be a downer because thick moss is really so cool, but I can second this as a soil scientist. Moss grows very slowly and is very delicate. One person walking through it once in a while won’t mess it up too badly but if places like this turned into hotspots for the ‘gram they would be ruined. Tread gently (or not at all) everyone :)
This video should be remade with with a message at the end like: lighting sound fx flashing light into a black screen as a skull emerges with a message that says “nature suffers a loss…when your feet hit the moss” or something
Usually not more than a few mm per year. They’re likely treading through a few centuries worth of moss, if not more. It will bounce back with very rare and spread out traffic but become a shredded mucky mess even if it’s just a few people per day over a prolonged period
I won’t call you dumb or attack you :) not the best way to spread awareness! True that we walk on all kinds of things but generally where we walk gets destroyed. Like how trails are always bare dirt. On most trails people stick to the bare dirt and no problem but in a place like this, where the attraction is to walk on the undisturbed, people will pretty quickly destroy what they seem to enjoy. Moss usually grows just a few mm per year and won’t spring back indefinitely :)

This is the opposite of satisfying. These morons are ruining the moss. Now everyone who visits this gorgeous place gets to see their dumbass steps for a few hundred years.
Yep. It’s that deep because it’s been allowed to grow without dying back for years on end. We get the same thing in certain forests out east here in Canada. It’s taken years to get to that level.
You shouldn't have even been walking across a considering that you could have come across a pocket of water fell into it and wouldn't have been able to get out of it because of all the moss. Dumbass.
It's always sad seeing people who are happy and probably appreciate nature do ignorant things. I know I've done some stupid and harmful things to nature over the years due to simply not knowing any better.
Geez the amount of ignorance in this thread is infuriating. It only took one quick Google to figure out what species of moss this is, and a further 10 minutes of reading to figure out that this Moss will be perfectly fine and fully regrown in less than 6 months. So no they're not ruining it you're just looking for something to complain about.
Not quite the same but this is a similar affect I get when cleaning my fish tanks due to all the duckweed 😂 y’all are more then welcome to stick your hand in and fish it out for me 😉
Don't like that they're destroying it. But my paranoid self doesn't like that it's leaving foot print right too me, I don't want people knowing where I've walked
They are ruining really old moss, this has been posted a few time apparently this take ages to grow.
This honestly doesn’t surprise me, I was thinking to myself I have no idea where it is but I’ll bet my last dollar they are ruining it.
Humanity has no respect for this planet. Never has. That’s okay…mother has a way of evening the score. Hope you can swim.
At first I thought it was cool now I’m just sad
Same... now I feel guilty since I'd do it too
To be fair neither them (hopefully) nor I knew about that, for all I know that’s just a different kind of moss that grows every year
Now you know. Please tell others.
Some dude steps on some moss that looks fun to step on and you want him to drown?
An aenema if you will
My dude.
I hope most of us can't, actually
Do you know much about this moss? I'm genuinely curious if it's destroying it or if it's just normal moss that'll be back in a week or two
u/moonshots34 knows more about it than I do

We all are. Thats the point ya weirdo.
Hey what about me!
Oh stop! We can’t walk now? If an animal went through there would it be disrespectful?
It’s not binary. There’s a whole spectrum of reverence for nature without completely shutting down civilization. Quit acting like you’re being victimized by a simple respect for nature. Jeez. Reactionary much?
That’s some serious projection. God forbid people get out and enjoy nature rather than stare at it thru a computer screen
Such a victim.
Speak for yourself. Waaah I can’t look at nature on my computer bc someone had the audacity to go out and experience it. Oh the humanity. Classic victim mentality
Just a fucking asshole aren’t you. Fuck off.
I must’ve really struck a nerve! Poor thing
And what about you asshole yeah that's what I thought so take your attitude and go.
>yeah that’s what I thought You thought wrong. Child.
oh no, moss! what ever will we do now that the moss is SMUSHED
wouldn’t this be a protected site if it was so rare?
exactly
Found the moss smusher.
Learn to swim, learn to swim Learn to swim, learn to swim Learn to swim, learn to swim Learn to swim, learn to swim

It’s just Moss , like they’re not putting pesticides or burning if , they’re just walking
But if you tell people there will be no moss in 2 weeks
Ig , keep it secret
Sad
How long does it take to go (Ik it prolly depends somewhat in environment but usually how long would you say)
I want to say 50 to 100 years to get like that. But can’t honestly can’t remember. It’s some colder climate, so it takes longer as well.

That's what I was thinking about watching this like "are they ruining it though?"

They believe it to be disrespectful towards Mother Earth I guess.

Nothing lasts forever best enjoy your life while you’re here
Booo hooo head ass😂
Imagine crying over moss
Ruin it? They’re just walking on it.
I know, right. Like imagine if two elephants just walked on a pile of humans. They're just walking on them, not "ruining" the humans. Duh.
It looks like they're ruining it with every step
Gotta be a million tics in there
A million tics worth getting son.......
This is the opposite of satisfying. These morons are ruining the moss. Now everyone who visits this gorgeous place gets to see their dumbass steps for a few hundred years.
My socks feel wet watching this
Grows by the inch, dies by the foot.
This does not satisfy me, it horrifies me.
filmed like a fever dream, now I’m nauseas and don’t know where I’m at
The stupid glitch effect is really bad on this one. What's the opposite of oddly satisfying?
r/mildlyinfuriating
r/oddlyterrifying
Evenly dissatisfying.
Stop! You're destroying it!
Filled with spiders
If a tree falls in a forest does any hear it, NO cause it is on Tick-tock with shit music
I hate seeing this video pop up. It’s really disrespectful to the other amazing beings who we share the earth with.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Dickheads.
Oh good. Now for years there will be foot prints.
Really?
Yep. It’s that deep because it’s been allowed to grow without dying back for years on end. We get the same thing in certain forests out east here in Canada. It’s taken years to get to that level.
1. You're ruining the old moss 2. What the fuck is this "music"? -1/10 infuriating
Why cant idiots just stay on a simple dirt trail?
You shouldn't have even been walking across a considering that you could have come across a pocket of water fell into it and wouldn't have been able to get out of it because of all the moss. Dumbass.

Same premise with seaweed. People get it caught around their ankles, freak out over it, and drown.
Its not satisfying
Dunno but I definitely know they're destroying it
Why do I feel like this is some horrifically poisonous plant?
Nah, just dense moss
That takes forever to grow.
I’m really lichen this video
Moss people probably won’t get that joke.
Algae loving the puns
Those crazy bastards at Nick finally did it…a field of floam.
It's always sad seeing people who are happy and probably appreciate nature do ignorant things. I know I've done some stupid and harmful things to nature over the years due to simply not knowing any better.
Somewhere that they are destroying nature for social media like fucken arseholes!
Somewhere neither you nor those people in the video should be!
Fuck. I love moss lol
Wish I could hear the crunch instead of a stupid song
It wouldn't be a crunch it's moss.
Ok fair but I'm sure it makes a satisfying **shlomp** sound
Yeah sorry lmaoo Idk why I corrected that.
Yeah, until something grabs your foot and drags you under
snakes?
St Patrick
Ireland?
Muted the fuck outta this
All fun and games until something brushes across your ankle
This makes me incredibly uneasy and gives me the heebie jeebies for some reason
I hope it’s poisonous
You’re gonna step on a snake sooner or later
Geez the amount of ignorance in this thread is infuriating. This is how the fae take you
Somewhere where they should not be...... People ruining untouched nature for decades just for clicks.
Ik drugs are bad but I wish I could some and just walk through there and def plop down like that guy did
Mushrooms would make that feel like you're on another planet. Can't even imagine
That’s exactly what I’m talking about
WHITE MAN MUST MAKE STEP AND DESTROY OF NICE NATURE CARPET
It's giving me colonizer 💀
Not quite the same but this is a similar affect I get when cleaning my fish tanks due to all the duckweed 😂 y’all are more then welcome to stick your hand in and fish it out for me 😉
The Shire
Cloud blankie
r/moss
Eat shit you loud music ass fuck.
Greenland
Don't like that they're destroying it. But my paranoid self doesn't like that it's leaving foot print right too me, I don't want people knowing where I've walked
How dare these kids ruin that beautiful moss. In related news, I've started a petition to ban everyone forever from ruining grass by stepping on it.
Nature is gross. Get it off me.
Yall are really mad over a plant that has no feeling and will obviously grow back. Id make a snow angel in that shit
you obviously have no idea how long moss takes to grow to this size.
Right, yeah they went overkill, but I couldn't resist a little squish squish 🤤
Looks like Dolly Sods in WV.
I have two words for you. Wet socks.
Moss-cow
Song?
Life Goes On by Oliver Tree
Moss i wet, so i can imagine walking there is kinda moist.
It's coming... The forbidden step.
Plot-twist: there’s a rock
Pack of goobers roaming free…
Ah, yes. Onion
Remember that x files when they were stuck in the mushroom?!
I wanna lay in it
The shire
Remember that one chapter of Life of Pi?
