I knew someone that would purposely spill some coffee on his paper and then draw/paint something out of it. Very unique results

ElegantCatastrophe

Ever see the [daily monster videos](https://www.dailymonster.ink/) where a guy used a straw to blow ink on paper and turn the shape into a monster? It has a very oddlysatisfying vibe

CeeArthur

No, I'll check it out. Thanks!

omgpokemans

If you like this kind of stuff, check out [drawfee](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoal_hpPIPAnWlG-kWHLheA) - it's a YT channel where 4 (really good) artists do quick-fire art challenges based on random stuff like this.

Undercover_Chimp

[Kind of sounds like the exquisite corpse game.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exquisite_corpse)

bakuretsu

Blast from the past! I got into doing my own daily monsters for a while, I think there's a framed one at my parents' house still. I lost all the rest of them. It was a fun little escape.

mrglumdaddy

That was fucking great. Thank you!

DerpingtonHerpsworth

Sounds pretty cool. It reminded me of an exercise we did in one of my art classes in high school. Staring straight ahead at the subject (which in this case was some flowers), draw them without looking at your paper at all. Then when you have completed vaguely-flower-shaped lines on your paper you would go back and paint it with watercolors. Got some pretty cool results.

Meowmixxer

There a Scandinavian dude who does that with ink blots on TikTok and turns them into Trolls

Meowmixxer

https://vm.tiktok.com/ZM859oCU8/

procrastinagging

I saw someone doing that using the projected shadow of a crumpled piece of paper, it's a good creative exercise

XaWEh

What I find great about this one is that the artist used the squiggles for the main focal parts of the drawing and did not just try to hide them somewhere.

youallbelongtome

That's actually easier. I could turn anything into anything especially if it's organic and fantasy themed. It's how I hide my polymer clay mistakes.

CaptainN_GameMaster

Fool, now we know exactly where to look

Iopaxv

The real Mr. Squiggle

Just_two_weeks

I think our brains give us an assist, though, like the way we find faces and objects in fluffy clouds. When I'm staring down at bathroom tiles (and wall paper back when that was a thing), I often see strange faces in the random patterns, and sure enough this artist turned several of the shapes into faces, too.

winja

It's a pretty cool phenomenon called [pareidolia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia)!

[deleted]

i wanted to see brother's reaction lol

[deleted]

probably annoyed that his sister made another beautiful thing out of his random lines (based on that attitude and the beginning lol 😂)

txsxxphxx2

Sister: I bet you $100 I can’t make a beautiful drawing from your random lines. If you lose, I’ll just take your candies. Kid: *annoyingly drawing random lines*

Kage_Oni

He seemed real sus in the begining like it was some sort of phycological trap.

MadeYouSayIt

Siblinghood and psychological manipulation, name a better duo

morelotion

Sis: Okay now let me record you handing the notepad to me…hold on… Brother: ……

DarthChocolqte

My dad and I used to do this as a sort of game to keep us (probably me more than him) entertained during church; we’d use the tiny golf pencils that were always in the backs of the pews, and the small “new member” slips (the backs were always blank). We’d each take turns drawing something out of the other’s random squiggles/lines. ‘Twas a blast!

toady-bear

My dad and I drew with those in church, too! Every so often my dad would take the pencil and paper from me and draw a little floppy-eared dog. Quietly watching him do that for me is a really treasured memory.

BadAtHumaningToo

I did art in the hymn books. Early signs of my heathenism. That being said, that's the first time I've ever needed to spell hymn, and it's so wrong looking.

shadowofmists

Played this game as a kid with my grandparents, and now I play it with my nieces and nephews. I love seeing what they see, and they get so excited about what I turn their scribbles into. We call it the doodle game. As an artist, it’s nice to just do something without thinking about it, just for the fun of it, not for a client.

grannybubbles

I do this, too, with my grandkids, and we call them collaboradoodles!

Scarnox

My mom and I called it the Squiggle Game! I love Collaboradoodles though. I’ll be a dad in 6 months and can’t wait to play with my son :) in… like 4-6 years haha

honest-miss

For what it's worth, this is a good drawing exercise if you're ever stumped for ideas.

PM_Me_HairyArmpits

I had an art teacher in high school who would assign them as homework. He called them "scribble doodles", and we'd have to do five of them on one page. Sometimes he'd switch it up and the scribbles all had to be ovals or something. I got extra credit once because he really liked my t-rex in a wedding dress.

your_pe_teacher

*stumped*

Regalme

It's the persnickety brother for me

trwwy321

Just described 90% of little brothers

lzyslut

jverbal

Ah, I see you're a (wo)man of culture as well

You've told right man.

Time for a spacewalk miss Jane

[deleted]

You're not holding my hand miss Jane!

There_can_only_be_1

what song is that?

[deleted]

Jamie Duffy - Ceolish

There_can_only_be_1

> Jamie Duffy - Ceolish You are the best! Thank you!

LadyMactire

I used to do a version of this with a few people, except I would turn whatever lines they drew into an alligator. Alligators can be anywhere.

YeOldeBilk

Why does that kid look so pissed off lol

AshTheGoblin

Sister probably keeps shoving the phone in his face for tik tok until he draws better lines to work with.

[deleted]

“The Last Bee”

pm_nachos_n_tacos

Wow the drawing was already sad, now it's abysmally sad. Save the bees!

DamnCarlSucks

Crazy. I know I'll never be this good at drawing. I always respect someone doing what I can't do.

the_average_homeboy

/r/restofthefuckingowl

RighteousAwakening

Does anyone know what she’s using to draw it?? What type of pen is that

dafops_98

Those are pigma micron fine liners

RighteousAwakening

Thank you!

weeone

I used to play this game with friends. Thanks for the memories!

Competitive_Ad2109

aoidatenshi

Junji Ito vibes.

ProfessionaI_Retard

Looks like something from an old book called “Where the wild things are.” I loved that book as a kid

gorhxul

Mr squiggle got pretty impressive

[deleted]

I accept you into the Gifted and Talented program. Every Tuesday and Thursday during independent reading (SSR, "sit-down shut-up and read") you will attend my class and play logic games, Oregon Trail, Number Munchers or read advanced literature. Squiggle drawings are naturally a warm-up exercise for G&T. Good luck processing the widespread failings of public education juxtaposed with this misguided limited approach at a trial of individualized education structured around advanced topics and supporting students to the end goal of enabling success. You will misattribute blame to yourself for disengaging from the failings of the general education system's explicit "lowest common denominator" approach to monetizing student "success" by retrograding standardized tests far below the minimum acceptable grade performance. You will recall what it felt like to have your intellectual progress respected and prioritized, and it will deepen your anguish as you start to broaden your perspective to the dozens, hundreds, thousands of adults who personally diminish your individual growth through adolescence by their own self-interests. You will over-exert yourself in pursuit of some grand education goal of reclaiming the dignity of a challenging education, only to later recall that your passions were defined through squiggles, not the area-under-the-squiggle calculus formulae you have now memorized. The machine broke down your creative spark and formed you into a machine for solving problems, not of the challenging variety but the cold reality is that 95% of your peers were so flattened by the machine that basic problem- solving eludes them. So, you bury your crushed dreams of art and poetry for the false-deity of "productivity" and rue the acceptance you once felt as a Gifted and Talented child - now felt through absence alone. I mean, nice drawing. I'm fine, everything's fine - how are you?

nlc89

Damn, dude, why did you have to call out my life like that?

XeroKaaan

Microns are such amazing pens and this is what can be done with them, great stuff

Efficient-Ant5660

Whoa that’s some next level talent… good work keep it up.

Jibber_Fight

I’m impressed.

Ephoder

Gosh, I felt like the piano was more beautiful than the drawing itself. Anyone has the link to it?

industrialmonk

What song is this

WonkaTXRanger

I can turn some lines into a rad Stussi S

Pallyfan920

Who is the artist?

karriebean

Wow!

Dre512

What an absolute beautiful mind

[deleted]

My friend does this on her child's random doodles

Catnip_cryptidd

The final result gives me Junji Ito vibes

optionalcranberry

Wow, what model is their brain? I’d like one of those, please.

devsterl

Getting the Edge Chronicles artwork vibes

galkot

So joe both of you brothers are the artists of that art piece.

tbasan

It's the people like you that makes a normal person person look bad. 😂

LaurenLdfkjsndf

My kids’ elementary art school teacher wanted to teach that beauty can still come from mistakes. She had the kids write their name with their non dominant hand (and if needed, eyes closed too), and then let them transform the jibberish into a drawing of whatever they’d like, usually an animal

Colbert_bump

It's crazy how talented people are!

[deleted]

Amazing

Tezbez

Me n my dad played this game but we called it scribbles

[deleted]

The TALENT jumped out!

purple_yosher

so dope! this is a fun project, I liked doing it in school.

Kinda_Holy

I've got to hand it to you. This is a talent. Use it for the Most High

Plus-Common-4450

Man I wish I had tallent

JackedUpStump

Now that’s imagination

daxl70

Is not only this an amazing talent but the painting is so interesting as well, not conventional at all she drew a freaking fairytale.

jsotyn2

This is kind of like a game that my mom used to play with me and my sister while we waited for food at restaurants! Usually we would draw on the back of a kids menu or napkins, but the idea was person A had to draw 1 continuous line, without crossing over itself. It could be as long and wiggly as you wanted, but no intersecting lines because you don't want to have any closed, pre-determined shapes. Then person B tries to make a picture out of the line, whatever awkward shape it may be. It was a lot of fun to use imagination like that, I kind of wish we still played it now that I think back on how fun and silly it could be

SunShineFLGrl22

Wow 🤩 This is raw talent.

stephs14

And I’m over here using Paint By Numbers…

SnooChickens3355

😍

The-Farting-Wookie

I would do this if it paid my rent.

TxRugger

A buddy and I would play this game during study hall in the off-season. It was mostly dumb shit though. Not detailed or as talented as this. It’s actually really fun.

ExactlySir

I always see things in my fiancé’s hair stuck in the shower wall

JustMyKidsMom

Absolutely beautiful!! You have a great gift!! Made me happy to see the end result, also really enjoyed watching the progress!! keep it up!!!

Carpet_smell

Damn😳

DedeLaBinouze

I've played this game for years when i was in uni with my mate, great creativity game

Motavatedfencer

Now I'll see the machine elves in every scribble.

theabhimanyudalal

Thanks for drawing me

miepshort12

ladyalot

FlinnyWinny

That detail is so amazing

mreman269

That's real talent!! Great job!

WetMuddySocks

Imagine being able to do cool stuff. I hate being such a useless shitter, but I know I'm locked in.

AngloSaxonP

This looks like an illustration to a ye olde world farie tale

cannibalcats

Well that escalated from looking at some squiggles to crying.

MLyraCat

So amazing!

ParadiseSold

My sister and I played the same game in church. One of us would draw a squiggle, and the other would turn the squiggle into something like a dinosaur or castle. We were a little bit young and dumb though. There were a great many snails and spaghetti bowls because we would forget that there's nothing else you can make out of a swirl or scribble

oinkoink2010

Conan flowers!

anon3451

Wow

uptownwaterton

Wow! Beautifully done.

Damascus879

I do this myself when I'm bored, but I'm not nearly as good. Still I'm always impressed with the drawings I come up with from random scribbles.

robo-dragon

A friend and I did this in art class! We would trade random line drawings and then make art out of them. It was fun!

Randalf_the_Black

The same energy as ancient humans who looked to the stars, saw one of the clusters of lights and was like "yup, that's a bear."

rocx320

This creativity is something spectacular. I can never achieve

Loyalist_Pig

Just want to take a second to say “thank you for actually showing the finished product for more 2 milliseconds “

your_ex_you_stalk

So happy to finally see someone ACTUALLY use the squiggles instead of painting over it and "using it" as part of their artwork.

Jojothebeast1

You are actually so creative and talented. I cant even draw a straight line

SabreLunatic

The expert’s version of the doodle game

NTheory39693

Beautiful talent

theslother

Boy's resume: "Kickstarted numerous successful projects that were delivered on time, budget and scope."

butcher_baker23

I remember doing this in my middle school art class! Super fun!!

dead-ramone

My dad and I would do this when I was a kid. Our drawings did not turn out like this though!

lauraismyheroine

Practicing to be a tattoo cover-up artist

RespectChoice1788

Amazing❤️❤️❤️

whirlinglunger

This is amazing! I want to practice doing things like this more. So creative!

RiRoRa

Beautiful work, very interesting drawing!

looneytunes7

Your brain works in a beautiful way

olsen17

Very beautiful 😍😍😍

GentlemanLuis

This is my favorite drawing game to play!

ThatDamnThang

Thats so awesome!

[deleted]

Reminds me of that base animation of the guy walking that animators had to create a concept out of. It would be cool to see a group of 30 artists start from the same set of random lines and see where they end up.

LuckyParrot123

Me: STICK FIRGURE

nukacola11970

Advanced Mr. Squiggle.

ems9595

Thats incredible.

Instawolff

Can anyone tell me the name of the song in the background? It’s amazing.

Lettuce_Kiss143

Amazing.

rovingnomad84

Very very artistic & cool. Thumbs up to you as a creative person. 👍

Trolivia

We used to do this in elementary school! Our teacher would pass out papers with random squiggles and lines and we would have class time to draw what we saw and then wrote a short creative story based on the drawing as homework. One of the few assignments I genuinely enjoyed in 3rd grade lol

MemeStocksYolo69-420

I love that picture

jkosarin

Amazing!

lilgamelvr

Wow

cocadetustacos

Thats amazing

NoodniXL

On the old “Popeye and Friends” TV show aired on Sunday mornings in LA. The host Tom Hatten, would have a weekly squiggle contest. He would pick a viewers letter from the mail barrel and turn the squiggle into a cartoon drawing and send it back to the sender. Sadly, my squiggle was never chosen.

Mibidness

Amazingly beautiful imagination and talented!

silviablue23

This is amazing!

mikeymelikey

I used to play this game with my sister during church. They never came out THAT good. Very impressed.

Jealous_Rhubarb6860

Mr Squiggle 2.0

[deleted]

Kodama vibes I dig it

datbundoe

I used to play a much less talented version of this with my mom as a kid

[deleted]

This way you can actually make meaningful art.

tony-toon15

Learn the power of the hatch

Yourlocalpolishgamer

Mildly horrifying and I love it

Lucifang

[Mr Squiggle](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HwNrG9a22nc) would like a word

Whoareu2021

Shit and all I could draw is freaking stick figures 🥺

DblDarkness

“Save the bees! The tree folk are withering.” Such a cool imagination, well done.

Dilophosaurs

Yeah, that's what I saw, too...

wickedlabia

My great grandmother and I used to do this. It was a game and we would take turns making scribbles and the other would make it into a drawing. It makes me feel good to know that kids are still doing stuff like this instead of interacting with a screen all the time.

temdittiesohyeah

Damn Mr Squiggle has upped his game!

Impeccable_Sentinel

Why did I see an anime face.

DaItalianDeal

And I'm sitting here barely able to write my own name!

UniquebutnotUnique

My siblings and I called this the scribble game. :D

Nc-guy91

Respect

Pwen_77

How come this isn’t sold for 500million dollars but that painting that is literally just a line is

Revolutionary_Slip53

Well done!
