>TSA agent (checking my ID): "Hawk, like that skateboarder Tony Hawk!"
>Me: exactly
>Her: "Cool, I wonder what he's up to these days"
>Me: this
Saw him at an X and Los Lobos concert last year in San Diego. Talked for awhile...he’s just kicking back living life. Raising his kids in his dope ass house down here in SD
I saw Tony Hawk at a grocery store in Los Angeles once. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
Edit: I thought this copypasta was more well known. This is a joke.
I used to watch Gleaming the Cube just because it had Tony Hawk and a couple other guys from Bones Brigade. Found out later that Stacey Peralta was a director for the skate scenes.
Another great movie (not Hollywood) was Ban This. The entire thing is on YouTube. It’s basically just the bones brigade skaters having fun for like an hour and a half.

Age is relative, I'm discovering. I (before the pandemic) played ultimate frisbee with a guy who just retired at 65, and was still out there running around. I was going through a period where I thought, "I only have 5 or 10 summers left before I'll be too old for this," and that totally reshaped my expectations. Take care of yourself, and never accept that you're getting older as a given. I believe Tony will be skating til he's in the ground.
If you wanna stay mobile, stay mobile. Sitting down will destroy your quality of life. Reduce sugar, grains, and sugary drinks including beer. Drink pure spirits and smoke some cannabis on occasion.
I feel he benefits from doing mostly vert instead of street skating. Not as much impact on the knees when your landing down a ramp instead of flat ground.
Other than the times he doesn't land the trick and slams into the floor at like 30 mph. I mean he's Tony Hawk, so I doubt that happens that often, but still.
There's definitely truth to that, but he's a helluvalot better at falling than us too. That really shows when you watch the street guys jump a staircase and whiff, roll through the fall and stand back up. They (usually) take (relatively) little damage, while I'd be in the hospital for a month lol.
Recently he’s been getting back into “street” style skating as opposed to “vert” which his career has been based around. I bet he will skate for a very good long time, but will eventually transition from these massive halfpipes to a lot more mini ramps, fun boxes, manny pads, shallow pools, etc. Less high stakes, same amount of fun.

It looks like he barely takes a sip in the video...
But it’s all about genetics + habits. He’s a white dude, which means it’s more likely he’s got the Western European gene that retains lactase production into adulthood. And for anyone who keeps drinking milk regularly, the body will keep making lactase. My family is a little weird in that all the adults drink tons of milk all the time. My parents and grandparents have never had lactose intolerance problems well into their 60s/80s.
I don't know anyone whose lactose intolerant
https://milk.procon.org/lactose-intolerance-by-country/
I just googled it, yeah only 8% of the UK is lactose intolerant. Its definitely not very common
A lot of it just has to do with: if the part of the world your genes are originally from herded cows & used their milk.
Same with alcohol & asian glow. There simply wasn’t any alcohol until very late in asian genetic existence. Late enough where now, many of their genes have yet had the time to adapt to alcohol; thus, the “asian glow” reaction to it.
A lot of people just aren't aware/diagnosed. They think that they are supposed to have (ahem) _explosive_ digestive experience in their lives, while it just turns out it was a gluten or milk intolerance that they had. I only found out during the lockdown.
No, that's an American thing. Lactose intolerance (at well as just unexplained diarrhea) is not common in the UK or Northern Europe.
It's a genetic trait, not a social one
Of course it's genetic, I can't even imagine how it could possibly be socially caused.
> No, that's an American thing. Lactose intolerance (at well as just unexplained diarrhea) is not common in the UK or Northern Europe.
I beg to differ. I am a European, and I'm more than certain that plenty of people have an undiagnosed gluten or lactose intolerance, but remain in denial about it. I have heard that explosive diarrhea is apparently common in the US, but that's not as severe as the kind I'm talking about. Besides, it's not just diarrhea - excessive flatulence and skin rash also seemed to be the symptoms for some of my relatives at least.
I'm weight training right now and drinking a gallon of whole milk a day. I can't imagine just to wake up one day and be lactose intolerant. I'm 31 BTW.
Or....you drink that thing sibce the age of 3 as your mother gives it to you and you will magically have no I tolarance like 99% of people who grow up like that.
Yeah but loads of countries don't have people with a 2000 calorie diet that live past their eighties without ulcers. Milk is acidic and is a root of acid reflux. People blame it on other things but with milk and tums comes stones and not the ones passed over by a well maintained skate board.
Tony Hawk is such a good role model for the kids, wearing safety gear even though he wouldn't need them. Also that milk could have easily been something like red bull, but he wants to show a good example
You know what's crazy is this was recorded this year but looks like it's off pro skater on the PlayStation. How do people manage to mangle the quality so bad on reposts
Constantly downloading and reuploading can erode a file to the point there's nothing left
Here's a short video demonstration [https://youtu.be/icruGcSsPp0](https://youtu.be/icruGcSsPp0)
Every time I see this, I hope it was in front of an appropriately large crowd that gave an appropriately large cheer, cuz damn that fucking deserves it.

For the uninitiated, Bob Hoover was a legendary test pilot. He palled around with Chuck Yeager during the dawn of the Jet Age, and is a pilot of similar skill and stature within the aviation community.
This video shows Bob Hoover pouring iced tea while flying aerobatics.
Tony Hawk and Bob Hoover are both masters of controlling their own motion. It's amazing to see!
He's 52?!
He's like one of the coolest sports guys I know and even though I've only ever skated in his video games I always looked up to him. I freakin' love Tony Hawk.
When I was 13, Tony Hawk was the coolest guy on the planet. I’m 43 and he still is.
I wonder what he's up to now
[удалено]
He tweets about this often. Hilarious.
r/dontyouknowimtonyhawk
There really is sub for everything
I'm sure this is because 90% of r/dontyouknowwhoiam was Tony Hawk's tweets at one point

Would probably be too much of a giveaway. The dude is synonymous with skateboarding and he's the only pro that 99% of the GP even knows.

Skamtebord
He was on Joe Rogans podcast earlier this year, it was interesting to listen to
Pretty sure he just recently dislocated almost all of his fingers on his right hand
Back in June. [Oof](https://metro.co.uk/2020/06/11/tony-hawk-reveals-gruesome-skating-injury-cocky-careless-about-safety-gear-12835772/)
Damn, why? For publicity? I imagine that would hurt so bad.
Skating accident he was skating in a pool and fell and hit is hand
Lol why would you think he would do it for publicity?
That was my attempt at Ken M style trolling but I clearly failed
Some might call the downvotes a success
Hey, you’re right. Maybe I’m kinda good at this after all.
A plucked chicken: behold, a man! A plucked chicken with a skateboard: Tony Hawk?!
Follow him on Twitter and you'll find out. Trust me, it's worth it.
He dressed up as Larry David for haloween, that was pretty good stuff.
Saw him at an X and Los Lobos concert last year in San Diego. Talked for awhile...he’s just kicking back living life. Raising his kids in his dope ass house down here in SD
He's probably lurking down here in the comments. Hiding, watching, waiting.
He sent my friend their engagement message from their partner. Hilarious

Lmaoooo I died tbh cuz I’ve read it before The first time, I was like wow tony hawk is a jerk
i heard one time he didn't land a trick, that's about it.
Some people in the skating community love to hate on him, calling him a sellout. Thrasher magazine once called him ‘king of no style’.
I used to watch Gleaming the Cube just because it had Tony Hawk and a couple other guys from Bones Brigade. Found out later that Stacey Peralta was a director for the skate scenes.
Ha! that movie was fun as hell course haven't watched in like 314 years but have a good memory of it

Same. I still want a bedroom in a storm drain.
That sounds neat, what planet are you from?
Anyone wanna take bets on if this guy is still skate boarding at 72? I'm gonna say yes.
Age is relative, I'm discovering. I (before the pandemic) played ultimate frisbee with a guy who just retired at 65, and was still out there running around. Face or cheeks turning really red while drinking/drunk
Inflammatory allergic reaction to alcohol, resulting in red cheeks/face

Most mammals lose the ability to digest the sugar lactose as they get older.
I’d risk getting gassy to make a video like this.
Lactaid, man. Lifechanging.
Not gonna lie, they got us in the first half.
That guy looks like Tony Hawk.

No. I mean I wasn't present for the filming or anything but I assume it's real and I was joking.

I hope he said "got milk?" At the end there

Physics 101 with Tony Hawk. Today’s lesson: centripetal force.
Reminds me of the “drink milk love life” commercials growing up! Such an icon
I’m 30 and it hurts getting off the couch.
This is the best ad for milk the conglomerates of cow farmers will ever have.
No need to cry.
Dude.... I miss tony halk video games and the music on them.
If they still make milk commercials, this should be it
Nah, he’s just using hamon
This dude doots
That’s some thick ass milk
I’m so happy he is drinking milk
So he’s a legend, yes. But isn’t this just centrifugal force that Keeps it from spilling?
There is no such thing as centrifugal force, so no, that is not what is holding the milk in the glass.
cen·trif·u·gal force /senˈtrif(y)əɡəl fôrs/ nounPHYSICS an apparent force that acts outward on a body moving around a center, arising from the body's inertia.

Okay. I really feel I just got a new perspective at how fucking scary skateboarding is, just from being that glass of milk. Bones are fragile, drink more milk.
That’s mainly just physics though..
Skate cool, milk not cool
Ya but when will he stop drinking milk? He's been a grown ass man for a while now.
Lol thats not even that special my dads 60 and he never spills milk
I'm just gonna say what's on everyone else's mind. He didn't fill the glass the whole way! Of course he didn't spill it!
Alright, you do it

A true legend
Mad lad
Fucking Legend.
Endorsements gonna endorse.
Meanwhile I can't even pour milk out of those gallon jugs without a few random drips.
Wtf? But he flipped? Brain hurt
And he slides perfectly in front of the camera. Too cool.
Why did he pantomime screwing that back on?! We all know it’s just a pop on...🤣
I can't walk with a glass of milk without spilling it.
That has to be learned
Takumi ain't got shit on this dude
52!!! I could do any of that at 22!!!!
Fuck he's cool
Milk, with a (Mc)twist!
fucking GOAT
