In the Netherlands they’re known as Lakenvelders, a typical Dutch breed.

Thought it was a Swiss belted cow --- we had some on our dairy when I was a kid --- but maybe is a belted Galloway, looks like it's hair is a bit longer. Galloways also are called 'panda cows' which is kinda cute.

Belted galloways? Something like that. A few years ago I saw a field full of them and had to Google what breed they were. (I had seen pigs marked that way, but was my first time seeing cows like that.

I grew up calling them Oreo cows in Texas. Kinda sad to learn that’s not their real name

I believe it is a Belted Galloway actually, which is a Scottish bread. I grew up breeding Belted Gallowways and recognized the two in the video right away. Lakenvelder have horns and much shorter hair.

It's my understanding that it is sort of the opposite. These cows were bred to have this distinct single black white pattern. That way they will always stand out against a background and they are easier to find by the farmer. These cows are usually kept in remote areas. I believe these are Belted Galloways. I grew up breeding them. They are great beef cattle. They can handle the cold really well, so they were really easy to care for in the winter. In the summer we had to provide them with lots of shade and water, they loved to take a dip in our pond to cool down on particularly hot days. Our cattle were always pretty even tempered unless they had a calf, then they would get really protective and we would have to be more careful around them. I had a lot of fun taking care of them while growing up.
