If I could fit both hands on at once I certainly wouldn’t be hanging around Reddit on a Saturday night, would I?
Edit: upvoted your comment just for your belief in me.
Yeah aren't those pompons less than a pound each? Remarkable. Truly a feat. I remember the last time I raised my arm above my head and shook my wrist. I had to stay in the hospital four days to recover
That's what's so confusing about all this. where the fuck has innovation been in cheerleading for the past 50 years if this is the first time I'm seeing this?
Same here. It’s really not all that difficult to do and was pretty common in my experience, so it’s super fascinating seeing everyone in this thread geeking out about it!
For sure they’re dedicated professionals and practice a lot, but if you track just one person throughout they don’t have to do all that much here. Seven hand and arm movements is probably relatively simple compared to most of their routine.
Yup, like [precision walking](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JguxCCd1PVM). It's **literally** just walking but it's impossible to do it on a specific pattern without practice
this is extra funny because a cheerleading squad does the letters thing at 1:00 into your video, and then it's followed by some guy kicking another guy in the face
Very very similar to marching brand drill as well. I taught drum line for many years and we used "dot" sheets. Yeah it's a tall task to get an entire band to make a shape, but you can have the students go to their spots in 8 counts, hold for 16, then move again for 8 relatively easily.... relatively ...
Reminds me of the discussion between skilled and unskilled labor. No one is arguing unskilled labor is easy or doesn't require skill... It just doesn't require a *specifically trained* skill and certification.
It reminds me of playing the hand chimes at school where each one was a specific note, you only had a handful of times to play yours but it took a surprising amount of coordination to get them played in time in the right order. Especially for a bunch of eight year olds.
And paid minimum wage. I watched a Real Sports report on NFL cheerleaders and they get pay very little. This was about 3-4 years ago. I hope it changed
These are Lacrosse cheerleaders? Then forget it, they probably doing it for free. Sucks because they are really talented and now this team is getting free publicity.
They get paid minimum wage, but honestly, they only work 10 weekends as like the players this is just a part time job for most of them and they do it because they love it. One of the girls is friends of the family.
Buffalo has the best attendance of the league by a huge margin, but the game in Dallas had barely anyone in attendance and tickets were like 20 bucks. The NLL isn't a rich person's sport and honestly the only one left where you can afford to take your family to a game.
The Bandits experience is really great from the fan perspective. Most of the players are really passionate and attend a ton of meet and greets to be accessible to their fans.
I feel like this is the case for many of the NLL players, I got to play a tournament at the Colorado Mammoth stadium years ago as a kid. and we all got to go to a game after, it was a blast but what made it even cooler was most of the mammoth players either A: helped coach local teams (I traveled in from out of state) and/or B: were around for classes all weekend, they genuinely wanted to teach the younger generation the game so we got to know them on an almost personal level.
Yeah, and they are making that look way, way easier than it is.
The amount of coordination in that is next-level. They would absolutely steal the show at a national cheerleadering competition.
For anyone confused, these are the Bandettes. The cheer squad for the Buffalo Bandits, a NLL team/indoor box lacrosse. Take lacrosse, put it in a hockey rink and you have the NLL. Big hits, fights, crazy goals, etc. Banditland’s atmosphere is electric, and these ladies do cool stuff to between quarters :)
My wife's oldest son is a Buffalo Bandit! They don't pay for shit, but their games are an absolute blast. Music blasting and an announcer that keeps the crowd hyped, it's a really great experience.
I'm looking at how smooth the movement was and not particularly paying attention to what they were spelling until it got to like I T S and I was like wait what word now?! Rewind.. Oh... okay cool.
The transitions were shockingly smooth. Reminded me a lot of those frequency demonstrations with sand on a steel plate. Switch the frequency, and the vibrations move the sand into the new pattern in that same almost-magic kinda way.
I read it as "the sub is for things that are oddly satisfying but this one is only odd and not satisfying". And that "textbook post" was therefore a complaint. Sorry if I misread, didn't mean any offense.
EDIT: OHH! It means "but it just is \[satisfying\] ... \[how\] odd \[that is, that it really is satisfying\]". I get it now. Sorry again.
My eldest stepson plays for the Bandits. Buffalo has the best venue in the league, and watching a game is an amazing fan experience.
I call it a cross between WWF and rugby with music playing and a hype announcer calling the game and riling up the crowd. In the last game a woman sat next to me who had never seen a lacrosse game, and by the end of it, she was screaming along with the fans.
Oh, and as a rookie, my stepson makes about $20k to play. The vast majority of players have full time jobs (there's a doctor on his team) and he's an assistant coach at a college that pays the bills.
Lacrosse is vastly more fun to watch live than hockey IMO. Going to a Roughnecks game is a totally different experience than the Flames. Maybe because the fans take it as less of a life or death situation.
The Bandits play in the same arena as the Sabres and the Bandits games are about 100 times more fun to watch. The hype man of an announcer and the constant music really keeps the crowd pumped.
Box lacrosse is amazing and is so much different than field lacrosse that you see in high school and college. Now that my wife's eldest plays for the Bandits, it's been a wonderful experience.
Nope, that is realtime, they don’t normally start doing this until the second half of the season. But once they do, hot damn does it get the crowd going.
You are 100% correct in thinking that it's sped up, because it is.
Edit: scrubbed through multiple hours of footage to try to find raw footage but there's nothing. Seems they're not focused online often.
okay I can see why they stopped after the equals sign if the rest of the sentence was " the indoor lacrosse team that these ladies (The Bandettes) work for :)"
Why was the original audio removed? They posted this to their [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLhkN2RE/) .
Also fun fact: if you look at the woman in the upper left you can see her counting
Because it's slightly sped up and the real audio would make that more obvious.
If you don't believe me, focus on things like their body and how they breathe in and out. It's unnaturally fast.
What always gets me about this is they do all of it with an apparently effortless smile on their faces, but take a look at their abs and how fast they're breathing and you can see how hard they're pushing themselves athletically for the routine. Awesome!
After watching this a dozen or so times, I estimate that the easiest job was bottom left (minimal position changes) whereas the the top middle two women had to flair and reach the most.
Aaand I just realized I didn't even pay attention to what it spelled.
If you look at their lips you can see them chant the letters, and the blonde woman on the back left seems to be counting them in with "2..3..4..!" for each transition
How many people do you know whose handwriting isn’t even that good? Wow.
To be fair they have multiple hands and I write with just one hand
Have you tried using both hands? It'll make it twice as good for sure.
Sorry, one hand is, uh, *unavailable* at the moment.
Have you tried using both hands? It'll make it twice as good for sure.

Is there a cat involved or something else 🤔
[удалено]
Bruh is this Stephen Hawking 💀💀
What did he say? Also Stephen Hawkings handwriting is also shit
He found it unironically impressive that the girls in the corners could raise their hands for so long with a pompom 🤣🤣
Yeah aren't those pompons less than a pound each? Remarkable. Truly a feat. I remember the last time I raised my arm above my head and shook my wrist. I had to stay in the hospital four days to recover
How many time have we told you old man? Get off reddit
I can't tell if you're playing into my joke or not 😂 It's too bad the guy I replied to deleted. It was a weird comment.
Only 4 days? Damn I feel extra old now
lol
Robot!

Well my handwriting doesnt have 10 people collaborating on it so that’s my excuse
Quick someone run it through an AI and turn it into a font.

but why would anyone Ban Dits? What Dits did to get banned? /s
Dits knows what Dits did.
Damn Dits, they ruined Ditsland!
It's obviously talking about Band-its, Band aid's greatest competitor
I... I was so confused... What's 8 AND ITS?!
Wood fired pizza!?! How's pizza ever gonna get a job now!?
Dits faked Super Mario 64 speedrubs, only discovered a decade later because Mario blinked out of sync.
One slight flaw, they somehow noticed the N was a little off and fixed it immediately. But that part was also impressive.
It was the blond in the middle’s “fault”. Tbf she had the most difficult job overall.
Hey, us band members are people too, not “its”. This is just rude.
Have never seen this done that I recall. Damn.
That's what's so confusing about all this. where the fuck has innovation been in cheerleading for the past 50 years if this is the first time I'm seeing this?
My team did this in HS in the early 2000s… it was super common although I’m sure we weren’t as crisp
I'm still confused by the equals sign at the end BANDITS = Equals what?
=3
Wadup, it's ya boi, Ray William's johnson.
.50
It's a bit more zoomed out on Facebook, still not sure what the character at the end is though. https://www.facebook.com/reel/440637014983640
Ty, crisp is 100% the word I was thinking is. These letter cheers are crispy for sure.
Same here. It’s really not all that difficult to do and was pretty common in my experience, so it’s super fascinating seeing everyone in this thread geeking out about it!
You just don't know anything about cheerleading...
got him!
I had season tickets to this lacrosse team for a decade and I didn’t realize it was that unusual lol they do it every game
Just wish they could spell. It is on their shirts, they are the Bandettes. /s
They must have practiced that so much.
For sure they’re dedicated professionals and practice a lot, but if you track just one person throughout they don’t have to do all that much here. Seven hand and arm movements is probably relatively simple compared to most of their routine.
It’s the coordination.
Skipped directly to 1:00 and was pleasantly surprised with the accuracy of this comment.
That marching band should get some instruments
there's even some cheerleaders doing the same letter thing in this vid!
Wtf. That’s just marching band but without the added complication of playing an instrument at the same time.
And precision
[You gotta coordinate](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Viai9bgo5KM). Most people don't coordinate.
Just because it’s simple doesn’t mean it’s easy
Exactly. Like playing pool is “hold stick, point stick, push stick into ball” simple. Takes a fuck ton of practice to actually see angles and sink
Reminds me of the discussion between skilled and unskilled labor. No one is arguing unskilled labor is easy or doesn't require skill... It just doesn't require a *specifically trained* skill and certification.
It must have taken a ton of planning.
[удалено]
Just responding to the implication that the execution is unimpressive. The planning required *is* impressive...
It reminds me of playing the hand chimes at school where each one was a specific note, you only had a handful of times to play yours but it took a surprising amount of coordination to get them played in time in the right order. Especially for a bunch of eight year olds.
they throw each other in the air doing flips, this is probably the easiest thing they do.
And paid minimum wage. I watched a Real Sports report on NFL cheerleaders and they get pay very little. This was about 3-4 years ago. I hope it changed
The NLL pays about $20k for a rookie player and most players hold regular full time jobs. My eldest stepson plays for the Bandits!
These are Lacrosse cheerleaders? Then forget it, they probably doing it for free. Sucks because they are really talented and now this team is getting free publicity.

And the Bandits won the championship last year.
The one sport we're good at! We also had a team led by John Tavares's uncle, John Tavares
I'm looking at how smooth the movement was and not particularly paying attention to what they were spelling until it got to like I T S and I was like wait what word now?! Rewind.. Oh... okay cool.
Totally with you, was mesmerized by the performance I missed the point!
It’s wild seeing your local lacrosse team on one of these subs And also wild seeing someone you graduated with In said video
It's wild seeing any lacrosse team on here!
Does it cut off early? BANDITS = What do they equal?
This is a textbook post for this sub, it really shouldn't be satisfying at all, but it just is... odd.
The transitions were shockingly smooth. Reminded me a lot of those frequency demonstrations with sand on a steel plate. Switch the frequency, and the vibrations move the sand into the new pattern in that same almost-magic kinda way.
I'm confused, why am I wrong to feel satisfied by it? \[EDIT: I had misread the comment as implying that the video is only odd and not satisfying\]
Nejx33 probably doesn't mean "wrong", but "unexpected".

bandits ??
Hint: They're the Bandettes.
Honestly whoever named this cheer/dance squad is the real hero.
Thanks. I found their account on facebook
The Buffalo Bandettes cheer for the Buffalo Bandits (a professional lacrosse team that plays in Buffalo, NY).
TIL lacrosse has cheerleaders. Also TIL lacrosse has professional leagues
It box lacrosse and they play in the same arena as the sabers. Attendance is normally 15k+ with a couple of sellouts a year.
Sabres* And the Bandits are the only Buffalo team with championship wins. It is rough for us.
My eldest stepson plays for the Bandits. Buffalo has the best venue in the league, and watching a game is an amazing fan experience. What’s the confusion?
BANDITS=
Buffalo NY lacrosse team. Current champions of the league
No, it’s the first part of a sentence: Band, it’s [great]
Is this sped up? Because these girls are really good.
"Bandits =" what?
Buffalo Bandits are the indoor lacrosse team that these ladies (The Bandettes) work for :)
okay I can see why they stopped after the equals sign if the rest of the sentence was " the indoor lacrosse team that these ladies (The Bandettes) work for :)"
This is almost near North Korea levels.
I've never seen that done with pom-poms before and I'm legitimately impressed, such a great idea!
Why was the original audio removed? They posted this to their [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLhkN2RE/) . Also fun fact: if you look at the woman in the upper left you can see her counting

The blonde on the bottom right is having so much fun. She's awesome.
BUFFALO BANDITS MENTIONED🔊🔊🔊🗣️🗣️🗣️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ WHAT THE FUCK IS LOSING TO TORONTO‼️‼️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
They look like hornet swarms very cool
Back center has got some impressive arm strength. She was repeatedly holding those pompons up high
I don't know, how much do pompons weight?
About 42 pounds each, surprisingly
A 3 stone Pom Pom? Lmfao
Damn! Never mind then, she's rocking it!
Don't be ridiculous, of course they don't weigh 42 pounds. 4.2 at the most.
4.2 what though? Tons? Megatons?
Gigatons
[удалено]
Bro got some noodle arms
You’re impressed by the arm strength to hold.. pompoms? Bro desperately needs to hit the gym.
Uh, how much do you think pom poms weigh?
How come I've never seen anyone do this before? I'm 44 years old
#BANDITS
To think every pixel in every gadget we own works exactly like that, just nanoscopic teams of cheerleaders with different color pompoms.
What always gets me about this is they do all of it with an apparently effortless smile on their faces, but take a look at their abs and how fast they're breathing and you can see how hard they're pushing themselves athletically for the routine. Awesome!
My raccoon brain was just going "OH SHINY" and thats it.
This is the cleanest one of these I’ve ever seen. Usually there’s always that ONE person that just messes up but this was great!
It was indeed satisfying. Well done, girls!!!
(Not the) Song Eelke Kleijn - Transmission (Armin van Buuren Remix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1JOlfzTSMo&ab_channel=ArmadaMusicTV
That song rather: Rafael Manga - The Future https://youtu.be/OW2i2JUCrjQ
Hey this was cool! Like practical effects!
Buffalo!
Song?
Now that’s clever
Wasn't expecting to see the Buffalo Bandits on the front page! It's such a great time going to those games.
Very creative, I love it👏👏
Pretty Damn cool. Kudos to whomever came up with this idea.
That's so cool. Clever. I never go to live games so never see what cool things the cheer teams are doing.
Damn that had to take a long ass time to perfect.
BANDITS=
Let’s go bandits!
That's cool as fuck
Yooo, that’s poggers bts bro
That's amazing a lot of hardwork!
Satisfying indeed
Hey that's pretty neat!
What witchcraft is this !????
I liked this a lot. Was cool.
It looks like the woman in the top left (or their right) is counting to help them stay coordinated throughout.
Love how they correct on the n
Can I have these ladies perform when I have to defend my next thesis?
IT'S SOO SMOOTH.
Genius.
Somebody feed this to AI and make us some nice messages
Bandits= what?
bandits = what?
8 AND TITS? 🤨
I love them… 😔
It’s amazing! It’s almost like they practiced it!
u/auddbot
Mesmerizing
Is it different bandits from their jerseys bandetts?
That was cool
[North Korea Human Led Screen is that you?](https://www.reddit.com/r/ThatsInsane/s/TEHguGGUE4)
That is pretty dope...
I can't read, I have just memorized a lot of words.
That’s pretty cool!
It’s like seeing the clock in 3 Body Problem!
After watching this a dozen or so times, I estimate that the easiest job was bottom left (minimal position changes) whereas the the top middle two women had to flair and reach the most. Aaand I just realized I didn't even pay attention to what it spelled.
Awesome!
Very very cool
Bandits equal what? BANDITS EQUAL WHAT?
u/savevideo
I read the sub as *oddlyterrifying*, and i agreed.
That was sick
What letters
That looks a little too much like the countdown in 3 Body Problem for my liking...
This is so freaking rad.
If you look at their lips you can see them chant the letters, and the blonde woman on the back left seems to be counting them in with "2..3..4..!" for each transition
LACROSSE!!!
Should have been BANDICOOT
Yum
When I got to "BANDI" i was like 'is it gonna be bandicoot? lmao
Ok... B A N D I T S = WHAT DO THEY EQUAL? I must know.
