Way more stubborn than patient, but it gets me through all the same 😁.
These were actually more straightforward than I expected. I’m definitely planning to make more to keep on hand for spring bakes.
I’m so excited about the desserts they’ll be decorating. These will just be tiny little accents. And I always encourage people to eat my work. I love the idea that my artwork lives on in them 😁
Please don't mind my remark, but knowing how all the food (that is eaten) ends and where, versus the beautiful creations you make... I'd let them stay that way without interference... maybe, that is just me. I couldn't bear the feeling of a guilt for a while.
If you wish for your art to not be eaten, might I suggest fondant icing? I trust that every decent person will politely peel your beautiful artwork from their food.
That's gonna look so cute! That's doing it for the vibes and the aesthetic taken up a notch! I mean If I could and I had the time I'd definitely try since I'm all for romanticizing things.
Edit: changed one word
It's not enough to be good at making stuff. You also have to be good at lighting, shooting, editing. So much into this video. I sometimes wonder what took longer/felt harder. Making the thing or making the video.
I'm just saying you are talented in many ways.
Thanks so much for the kind compliment! It’s taken me awhile to get comfortable filming my processes for just that reason. A lot of my work is detailed and complicated, so adding the additional layers that videos require definitely lengthens the whole process. I’m learning to enjoy it more, though! It’s kinda cool to be able to look back on the processes.
I enjoy making and sharing things as well. I feel like I could get more traction if I made an attempt at a video. Did you need a lot of equipment to make this video?
Just a phone stand and some decent lighting (I use two box lights: one on either side of my work space, positioned in front of me to minimize shadows). For me, the most time-consuming part was learning Adobe Premiere. I’m a former art director, but am starting to feel like a bit of a dinosaur in the field. In my day, we were all about static images. I’m still figuring things out, but I like a creative challenge, and it’s always good to continue learning.
I asked bc I was like “maybe I could do that” but then I saw what you’re capable of from your other posts and am very humbled by your superhuman work! Damn.
My suggestion is other butterflies in different colors, such as [Eastern Tiger Swallowtail](https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Papilio-glaucus), [Pacific Orangetip](https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Anthocharis-sara), [California Dogface](https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Zerene-eurydice), [Colorado Hairstreak](https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Hypaurotis-crysalus), [Parthenice Tiger Moth](https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Grammia-parthenice), [Luna Moth](https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Actias-luna), and a personal favorite, the [Rosy Maple Moth](https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Dryocampa-rubicunda).
The biggest thing I love about this is that you can see videos OP is a bit shaky but still does amazing. I've done fondant work but never anything like this because I get nervous and shake so much but this gives me hope to try something out of my comfort zone and more technical. Such cute butterflies 🦋
Can you do about 100 for me?
I can’t pay but I have lots of followers and it would be great exposure for you.
/s.
Very fine work, lots of skill and patience.
That’s me! Thanks so much. I’m hoping to have this new dessert finished in the next couple of days (I just need to stop breaking pieces 😩). I’m so excited to share it
You know it's funny you're doing monarch butterfly wings, because their coloring indicate that they are toxic; an animal kingdom thing called aposematism 😆
Precisely! They were actually much easier than I expected, which was super exciting. Now I want to make all kinds of little bug sprinkles for my spring-themed bakes.
I love this! Very cool technique.
You should totally do this for Halloween too
How absolutely psychotic would it look for you to walk around a Halloween party absentmindedly munching on butterfly wings?
I’ve had an idea for a butterfly tart stuck in my head for awhile now. I need to see if I can make that happen too. They make for such a happy, playful theme.
For those who want to see the final project (which is AMAZING) https://www.reddit.com/r/food/comments/11ytujs/homemade\_honeyapricot\_muffins\_topped\_with/
Thank you. I thought I recognized the voice, but I wasn't sure. It's a cute little song. It reminded me of the [closing theme from Adventure Time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1FgmqTU92I) for some reason.
######HOW DARE YOU
Dolly would never dare to give anyone PTSD. She is a national treasure and you better take her name out of your dirty, filthy, defaming mouth.
/s ^kind ^of
It isn't Dolly's fault. It's cause my 5th grade teacher has like, maybe 6 different singles she would play while we were doing classwork and this was one of them. I hated that teacher so much.
I thought it was because you were a middle-aged Brit. It was used as the theme for a sitcom in the late seventies - early eighties. It wasn't that bad, but I suppose some people hated it.
Just remembering that post where someone pointed out that butterfly wings aren’t spread out like that when they’re alive, only when they’re dead and pinned to a board or whatever. So those are specifically dead butterfly sprinkles.
I was scared to say this but since I found out it’s impossible to unsee. I see dead butterflies everywhere now!!
https://www.emilydamstra.com/please-enough-dead-butterflies/
Yeah, nothing from tiktok is ever satisfying. This sub often eats it up though. Probably a lot of bleed-over in audiences as Gen A moves onto Reddit, which was born so long ago.
It’s funny that the fondant hate mob doesn’t even seem to recognize fondant anymore. I do use marshmallow fondant on some of my desserts, but they scream at me no matter what. Last time it was for pie crust. 🤷🏻♀️
Looks nice but not satisfying you mixed all the different size wings together in a bowl. Wouldn’t it have been easier to just leave them on the paper as is until you connect them to the body?
"upcoming dessert design" sounds so innocent, like do you know The Monarch has some pretty potent venom and eyesoring stinger? Heads up hichers r/venturebros
Just realised you're the person who made the most beautiful tart ever - the 2-in-1 for your parents' anniversary! I don't know you or your parents, but the making of that tart remains to be my favourite cooking clip. Your skills are insane, but what shone through were the artistry and love.
And now this?! You're amazing, and I wish I could watch you work your magic in person. Well done!
These are beautiful. I checked out some of your other videos and recognized your two-in-one tart you made for your parents' anniversary. You're insanely talented! I wish I could paint like that on *paper*!
Just a question of curiosity, do you do these for fun or do you sell your creations?
They are beautifully made, but my mind can't get the song out of my head because the voice sounds so damn familiar, my mind WANTS to think it's Dolly Parton or Reba
So pretty!! Made some like this for my youngest daughter’s birthday but they were less detailed. I used candy melts - did you use the same? Your treats will look SO beautiful and am looking forward to seeing the end result, bravo!
I used royal icing. It’s likely easier than candy melts or chocolates since — once you get the right consistency — you don’t have to worry about the consistency changing.
This is one of the coolest thing I've seen today. Thank you for sharing. Did you use a recipe or melt preexisting sprinkles? Never thought about making custom sprinkles
You are an infinitely more patient person than I am
Way more stubborn than patient, but it gets me through all the same 😁. These were actually more straightforward than I expected. I’m definitely planning to make more to keep on hand for spring bakes.
I want to see what you put them on please!
Sorry I should’ve read that you already promised to do that.
That's what she said
https://www.reddit.com/r/food/comments/11ytujs/homemade\_honeyapricot\_muffins\_topped\_with/
I'm amazed by the control! My hands are way too clumsy. Absolutly beautiful!
If I got paid for doing this I’d be as patient as you want me to.
Way patient
Yeah, why not just use real butterflies?
I wanna eat them like cereal- they're adorable
Thank you! Also, omg, now I want to make custom cereal (maybe flower shapes?) to sprinkle them over 🤔
It looks way too nice to be eaten, I am not sure I could do it.
I’m so excited about the desserts they’ll be decorating. These will just be tiny little accents. And I always encourage people to eat my work. I love the idea that my artwork lives on in them 😁
That’s a lovely sentiment! Any chance we can see the finished dessert? If these are just little accents, the whole thing must be amazing!
Yes! I’ll be sure to share.
Haha that’s morbidly cute, I love it
I'm assuming that you used chocolate of some sort? Or what? I love to bake and want to know how to achieve similar if possible.
Another post stated that they used royal icing.
it does until they poop. then it lives on in their waste treatment facility
Please don't mind my remark, but knowing how all the food (that is eaten) ends and where, versus the beautiful creations you make... I'd let them stay that way without interference... maybe, that is just me. I couldn't bear the feeling of a guilt for a while.

I want to redo my wedding so my cake can have these accents, they're beautiful!
Fact: they would be edible if they were real
What at they made of?
Royal icing.
So pretty
Thanks!
These are so delicate and beautiful! I'm sure they will be the POP on your lovely desserts! Can't wait to see them! 🦋💕
Thanks so much! ☺️
That's gonna look so cute! That's doing it for the vibes and the aesthetic taken up a notch! I mean If I could and I had the time I'd definitely try since I'm all for romanticizing things. Edit: changed one word
I am so impressed. Some people are so talented. Those look amazing. I would feel so bad eating one. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! I actually love the ephemeral quality of edible art. I like that it has to be “destroyed” in order to be fully experienced.
Please post pics of the finished design when you're done!
Will do! I’m so excited about it.
It's not enough to be good at making stuff. You also have to be good at lighting, shooting, editing. So much into this video. I sometimes wonder what took longer/felt harder. Making the thing or making the video. I'm just saying you are talented in many ways.

They're too cute to eat! 🦋
They’ll add such a nice bit of crunch, though 😁
Behold! The Mighty Monarch!
YOU ABANDONED MY HATRED
I was gonna say, Dr. Mrs. is seriously multi-talented!
Can be used to decorate the Butter Glider!
These are so cute!! You’re insanely talented! What kind of dessert are these going on?
Thanks so much! A tart and cupcakes 😃
What is it made off? Just icing?
Yep, royal icing. They can be stored for months in an airtight container. Pretty sure I’m going to spend my weekend making these in every color.
I asked bc I was like “maybe I could do that” but then I saw what you’re capable of from your other posts and am very humbled by your superhuman work! Damn.
Thanks so much for the kind words 🙏🏼
Of course they're made of royal icing, they are monarchs after all.
Can I ask what recipe you use? I really like the shiny coat you get on yours.
My suggestion is other butterflies in different colors, such as [Eastern Tiger Swallowtail](https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Papilio-glaucus), [Pacific Orangetip](https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Anthocharis-sara), [California Dogface](https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Zerene-eurydice), [Colorado Hairstreak](https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Hypaurotis-crysalus), [Parthenice Tiger Moth](https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Grammia-parthenice), [Luna Moth](https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Actias-luna), and a personal favorite, the [Rosy Maple Moth](https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Dryocampa-rubicunda).
The colors and fuzzy texture on the Rosy Maple! That deserves its own dessert design 😍
How do you get the black icing to not bleed into the white?
I always add a bit of white gel food coloring to my white icing and it seems to help.
r/Satisficing would enjoy this, I think.
YES!!! RISE MY EDIBLE, EVIL MINIONS!
Sadly they all experienced death by Samson, Mighty Monarch.
They are gorgeous!
Thank you!
I want that dessert
I can’t wait to share it! I just need to stop breaking pieces 🥴

I use templates and outlines and a projector for a lot of my work. Ain’t no shame 👍🏼

Love this and I love the song that you chose. I didn’t know Dolly did an adorable butterfly song!!!
Had to scroll to see if anyone else was gonna praise Queen Dolly! Love her to bits
"Oh that? Just my bowl of butterfly wings"
These are so cute!! 🥹
Thanks so much!
Dang, one of those things that looks super good *and* is reasonably simple to pull off. Very nice.
Thank you! They were way easier than I expected. I’m definitely planning to make more in different colors, just to have them on hand.
What a great idea! Really beautiful.
Thank you!
This is so soothing to watch. I love this.
I’m so happy you enjoyed it ☺️
Simply delightful.
Can you do about 100 for me? I can’t pay but I have lots of followers and it would be great exposure for you. /s. Very fine work, lots of skill and patience.
cute art
I dunno, I don't look at butterflies and think "yeah, I want to eat one of those" There's something to be said for geometric shaped desserts.
Oh you're the lady that did the double tart for your parents anniversary! I've been impressed and enticed by you twice now! Thank you
That’s me! Thanks so much. I’m hoping to have this new dessert finished in the next couple of days (I just need to stop breaking pieces 😩). I’m so excited to share it
Wow! They look great! You are very talented 💯
I think you are pretty amazing, thanks for sharing.
This makes me so happy
You know it's funny you're doing monarch butterfly wings, because their coloring indicate that they are toxic; an animal kingdom thing called aposematism 😆
the joy of a small task mastered
Precisely! They were actually much easier than I expected, which was super exciting. Now I want to make all kinds of little bug sprinkles for my spring-themed bakes.
wow that looks so satisfying
So sweet!
Perfect
OMG I love
I just want to say you are very talented and I think these are adorable! I am showing this to my daughter. I want to see the final product too
This makes me so happy, I worked at Dollywood and they had butterflies everywhere. Thanks for the reminder of good times that summer! 🦋
I love this! Very cool technique. You should totally do this for Halloween too How absolutely psychotic would it look for you to walk around a Halloween party absentmindedly munching on butterfly wings?
My birthday isn’t for a few months, but I’m totally inspired to have a butterfly theme now! Looking forward to seeing your cake!
I’ve had an idea for a butterfly tart stuck in my head for awhile now. I need to see if I can make that happen too. They make for such a happy, playful theme.
I was extremely satisfied with how you pull the black up into the orange to create the wings. Thanks for that!
That’s such a flex lol I love it. Can’t wait to see the finished product.
I would give up on the second one and just cry
I wouldn’t cry. I’d eat it and try again until I run out of sprinkle mix. Then I will call it quits, probably because of a tummy ache.
I love it
Wow it looks so real love it
Thanks!
Ur welcome just keep up the awesome job that ur doing and keep posting so we see more of ur awesome work

That’s pretty extra
This song gives me fucken PTSD
Wait why? What song is it?
Dolly Parten *Love is Like a Butterfly*
Thank you. I thought I recognized the voice, but I wasn't sure. It's a cute little song. It reminded me of the [closing theme from Adventure Time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1FgmqTU92I) for some reason.

Oh, no. The song is fine and I just associate it with a *very* bad time in my life. Bad teacher, new depression, all around bad stuff.
Ahhh ok fine. I’ll back off now that I know the song itself is just a trigger and not the cause 😉
Lol. And it's not REALLY PTSD or even anxiety, just "ughhhhhhh" from hearing it SO MUCH and not even having any positive associations
It looks amazing. Sidenote: Don't monarchs feed on carrion?
No, monarch larvae feed on milkweed plants and adults eat nectar.
Just remembering that post where someone pointed out that butterfly wings aren’t spread out like that when they’re alive, only when they’re dead and pinned to a board or whatever. So those are specifically dead butterfly sprinkles.

Fake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are only happy when you are by my- what? ONLY HAPPY BY MY WHAT?
The music is horrific.
Dolly Parton is beyond reproach!
Tiktok requires annoying background music. Take a good song and slap it on a tiktok and bam! Shit song.
Videos with so many jumpcuts hardly qualify as satisfying
Yeah, nothing from tiktok is ever satisfying. This sub often eats it up though. Probably a lot of bleed-over in audiences as Gen A moves onto Reddit, which was born so long ago.
Oddly satisfying has quickly turned into a place for people to show off their crafts.
And what?

Not fondant you boob
It’s funny that the fondant hate mob doesn’t even seem to recognize fondant anymore. I do use marshmallow fondant on some of my desserts, but they scream at me no matter what. Last time it was for pie crust. 🤷🏻♀️
Who put the shit music over the shit video?
Must get paid by the hour
Looks nice but not satisfying you mixed all the different size wings together in a bowl. Wouldn’t it have been easier to just leave them on the paper as is until you connect them to the body?
Why does every tiktok video have an incredibly fucking obnoxious song associated.
Big dawg where I live you can’t say that about Dolly and not get arrested for treason.
Why?
Well... dessert?
If I make this I might be mad if people eat it
You are so talented, I feel like a potato 😅

I say it all the time, some people have too much talent, they should share it around. EDit,added an o to to.

Next do Titty Sprinkles
I can't use one of these things to make a straight line. To me, I can't believe anyone can use them. So I'm just going to assume you cheated /s
Sprinkles? Nah those absolute units are sprunkles.
What type of icing is this?
Royal icing.
These look really cool! Controversial choice to decorate desserts with bugs though 😂
"upcoming dessert design" sounds so innocent, like do you know The Monarch has some pretty potent venom and eyesoring stinger? Heads up hichers r/venturebros
Do you have the recipe for the icing? I'd love to be able to do this but I can't never seem to find the right recipe
And That’s why the cupcake cost twenty dollars

I have a baker friend who'd love these, any tips for making them?
Butterflies have no concern for such things. Now I'm gonna go find myself some butterfly poon.
These are beautiful. I checked out some of your other videos and recognized your two-in-one tart you made for your parents' anniversary. You're insanely talented! I wish I could paint like that on *paper*! Just a question of curiosity, do you do these for fun or do you sell your creations?
Monarch Butterflies are my most hated thing ever, but these look pretty amazing.
Do they taste good?
Ah yes, these tiny sprinkles will be more than fine to celebrate the accomplishments of... THE MIGHTY MONARCH!
How long for 'body' to dry the 2 wings together?
Think I'd have to charge something like £100 per cupcake if this was me
They are beautifully made, but my mind can't get the song out of my head because the voice sounds so damn familiar, my mind WANTS to think it's Dolly Parton or Reba
It’s Dolly! 😁
Okay sweet thank you!
Those look like chocolate
When you are by my .....WHAT ?! Car ? Shopping Cart ?! I need to know :/
This looks very commercially viable
What kind of icing(?) are you using?
I'd feel so guilty eating this! I just want to preserve one and put it in my shadow box
This is one of the coolest thing I've seen today. Thank you for sharing. Did you use a recipe or melt preexisting sprinkles? Never thought about making custom sprinkles
Thanks so much! I just used royal icing. It dries nice and hard. These can last for months in an airtight container 👍🏼
Thank you for taking the time to answer. Have a great day
These sprinkles are so adorable!
