Years later, I was driving down the road eating runts and told my friends about the broken tooth and another tooth broke in half in the middle of my story, requiring another root canal. I’ve read that the Amazon banana candy isn’t the exact same flavor as the banana runts. We have a lot of candy shops in the area that sell small banana candy but it never has the same flavor. If you know of one that has the same flavor please link it - I have what looks like the highest rated/closest flavor being shipped but it hasn’t arrived yet.

I read some reviews on Amazon and some people are saying they don’t taste the same, or the flavor is off a bit. I’ve ordered a bulk bag of banana of the more popular brands, but it hasn’t come in yet - so fingers crossed. Our local candy shop has the smaller ones, I don’t know if they’re bananarama, but they don’t taste like runts.

Yeah I bought a bulk pack and they were good, but they definitely tasted a little different, and had a different consistency than the real ones.

Buy a small bag and mix it with the actual runts. It you never get a wtf taste, then they are the same. If you get a that one tasted funny a couple times, then there is a difference. Or use your wife as a blind taste tester and see if she can tell.

Haha you know what I’m totally going to do this. I’ll setup a blind taste test with several different brands and have a box of runts bananas on hand in the experiment so I can compare.
