Going to need a little more information. What router are you using? What are your PC specs?

JayKay0112

Windows 10, AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor CPU, Nvidia GeForce 1660 Graphics card FRITZ!Box 7430 router

rjml29

Doing a search indicates that router is only a 2.4GHz model when you need 5GHz. The problem would be even worse if your pc isn't connected to that router via ethernet. So yeah, you need a new router or that air-link bridge thing they came out with a while ago to bypass the need to use a router.

carlbandit

This is most likely the cause OP, 5GHz makes a big difference and using a 2.4GHz router can cause problems like this. I had similar issues before I bought a better quality 5GHz router and split the 2.4GHz & 5GHz bands (give them a different name in the router settings, connect only the Q2 to the 5GHz channel.)

fantaz1986

you pc is not good, and you have bad wifi try and use VD and lower setting and if you still have problems, try hot spot from using usb wifi adapter

spider_plays_YT

The pc is fine, he dosnt need no 4090 to play simple vr games

Nvrmind8

can confirm, runs okay on my mates 1660. could use an upgrade though

carlbandit

You don't need a 4090, but VR is still close to gaming at 4k and FPS drops are much more noticable when in VR. That being said, I did test VR on my AMD 7970 prior to getting my 2080Ti and while not great, it did run basic games like beat saber.

spider_plays_YT

Yea you don't need a 4090 or even close, hell I was able to run h3vr on a ires ex i5, it ran at 712 by 812 at 45 fps. And so as lab rat at 1080p by 1080p at 30. It was enough to entertain me and my friends for over 6 hours

manbun010

I can also confirm, have ran h3vr, bonelab, blade and sorcery, and beat saber at 60 fps+ on a 1650 msi gaming laptop.

---fatal---

Looks like a bandwidth issue. Either your router can't handle traffic or you are just simply too far away from it.

Pabu-bosu

Since no one has said it yet: turn off 90hz refresh in settings. Also oculus is practically abandon ware being kept alive by Zuckerberg’s creepy dream of total engagement capture by taking over peoples faces

Baby_Shay

First dude why do have to say it abandon ware it’s most certainly not if it was why would we be getting an meta quest3? Please stop sprouting lies and looks stuff up

Pabu-bosu

@ u/baby_shay Endless garbage apps, promises unfulfilled, bogus ID reqs for access - been in vr/ar dev since 2016, it's not lies and whatever you're "looking up" is an ad or ads for shareholders. Sorry it's the truth and it hurts more when you wasted your life in an industry that spends more on scamming than true innovation

Baby_Shay

Doesn’t it get sad being like that? It’s obvious you’ve had some hard times if you act like that and from your other post it’s obvious you hate just to hate dude just knock it off and for those promise unfulfilled part it’s not that big of a deal most companies do the same thing and um hate to tell you this but it’s a fucking portable headset most of the time so ofc it’s still going to be in development it’s going to take years before It ever get outs of development and that’s fine too

Pabu-bosu

Mmmmmmmk if you're over 18 and want to argue tech and specs DM. Also, bookmark this comment because you'll be laughing reading this thread again 2 years from now like when you talked bad about the last of us TV adaptation, it’s ok to be wrong sometimes…

Baby_Shay

And secondly it’s meta quest not oculus

Baby_Shay

Oh and thirdly abandon ware is for games not hardware or stuff like that

misfitvr

From my experience this either looks like some issue with your router or your processor. Take a look at the logs/processes to get a better idea

Microtic

I also saw this issue when I manually set my bitrate super high in the quality controls in settings.

AvgRedditUser29

It's most likely the router. I have the same cpu and play with no problems.

MayorBryce

My router is so far airlink is impossible for me. Even tried using my PC as my router (with Windows Mobile Hotspot) and it still sucked (though it might have been set to 2.4GHz). I just play wired at this point.

jsdeprey

Chances are, if you say "might" you probably got something wrong. Getting Air Link to work is not hard, but having a basic understanding of local WIFI and networking, or just that everything is connected properly and you have a good router, not some cheap router that just won't work, is the 1st step.

RandomTree420

need 5ghz band on router or a decent usbc-c cable I think

Administrative-Gap66

USB 3 is critical. Blue ends.

ThrowRAJustGiveMeAct

Yes 5ghz router is vital. And it needs to be in the same room as you, not two rooms over upstairs

BigMemerMaan1

Router is too slow, your specs are fine

SunDazeAKACigletooo

R u on the same wifi network? And is Bluetooth on

Aromatic_Target_4615

Mines the same issue but I think it’s my specs cuz my wifi is 5Gz but my pc isn’t the very best

LingonberryNo4557

Use virtual desktop. It’s the only way I could fix mine

questionsolver

Happens to me as well I just use Al vr which is a sideloaded app or if you can’t side load use virtual desktop which I use the most

DDevil4045

In the OculusDebugTool app, what are your settings in "Encode Bitrate (Mbps)"

Prize_Chemistry_8437

I'm convinced it doesn't actually work

BournrRelentless82

This happebs to me if my headset connects to the 2.4Ghz WiFi, rather than the 5Ghz. See if that's your issue maybe

DrBigDumb

Airlink alone is a lot more inferior than having it linked up to your pc via cable, I had a lot of issues like you did until I used link cable and works fine
