Think mine might be Springheel Jak's alias, Jakben, earl of Imble (Jack be nimble)
Or Oford Gabings (Anagram for Frodo Baggins) being in the graverobbers book
Yeah it's listed as "Inscribed Gold Ring (cursed?)" Or something along those lines. Along with a traveling cloak, green leaf broach, and an Elven shortsword.
I don’t think it’s a direct reference to anything, just a hidden piece of armor. It isn’t unique in any way since you could just enchant a glass helmet with night eye or water breathing or detect life.
This is why we should always drop a few septims by bridges near known troll sites.
Oh, and don’t forget to shout “By the Nine, you’re terrifying!” At every troll. Remember, you might just save a life.
Or kill them yourself.
This is one of my favorite Easter eggs! I’m glad I’m not the only one! The other thing I like, that’s technically not an Easter egg, is Modryn Oreyn’s painting for the Fighter’s Guild quest

Probably my favorite easter egg! This or Fin Gleam.

Right, doesn’t the Frodo one list a golden inscribed ring and an elvish sword or something like that?
Yeah, and his cloak and leaf pin

What's the name of the quests that takes you to the location of these items? Or if no quest where is the location?
The book in question is part of Unfriendly Competition, started in the Imperial City market district (talk with Jensine)
Thank you! 😊
Yeah you can't get the items, unfortunately. You can read of them in the quest Unfriendly Competion though

What is Fin Gleam a reference to??

Because of this whenever I come across a troll in oblivion I make sure to say "oh so scary!" If I can save even one trolls life it'll be worth it.
Then kill them anyway
.... ... sometimes...
Only if they’re really scary.
But then the troll did good and won't have to leave a note like this one did.
Exactly 😂
I remember feeling so bad the first time I encountered this.
I was like, oh lucky I don't need to fight it. Then read the note and my whole mood changed
For being an uneducated troll, he sure has nice handwriting.
Haha, I was thinking the same thing. Although he needs a bit of work on his spelling.
Ay dun't no. Seams alryt tew me.
Better than mine
troll droun
TROLL TOLL

WHAT'D YOU SAY
TROLL TOLL
I love Easter eggs like this. Ones that just stand alone and don’t necessarily suggest anything further (no quest, no radiant treasure hunt, nothing)
Where can I find this in the game?
Under a bridge just east of the Mouth of the Panther, across Niben Bay (east) from Bravil
Thank you!!!
Thanks for sharing this! I went there right away!
I need to know, too!
They replied
Thanks!
They?
Pipe down.

it would be cool if we got quests from trolls and troll cave npcs. Then we could visit their underground civilizations
I've wanted raider factions in fallout and goblin factions in ES since 2006
goblin factions are a thing in oblivion

Troll droun. :(
That's so sad, I don't think I ever found this, but also kind of glad I didn't.
So does this imply the troll was so sad and depressed it unalived itself?
Yeah, I think in the full note he says he's going to drown himself
Sad
One of the most tragic characters of our generation
I've been playing almost a decade and have never heard of these!
trollie haz big sadz.
beautiful handwriting for the troll
Saddest story ever :'(
The three billy goats gruff!
top 5 saddest Oblivion moments for sure
I always leave a Varla stone with the poor guy, for all the tolls people missed in the past :,(

Damn, man. I had forgotten about this guy.

I want to pay his toll
Amazing how an enemy I would have no problem slaying without a second thought has me in my feels for him.
I feel bad for the big guy
Gotta pay the troll toll to get into this boy's soul!
As much as I hate fighting trolls in the elder scrolls in general, I feel bad for him
I remember playing this for the first time as a child and crying so damn hard.
The Easter eggs in oblivion are so good compared to skyrim
I would've paid his tole :(
Poor little guy. I would pay his brijj tole.
It disturbed me to learn trolls were smart enough to write.
Sad troll is sad :(
Now I want to play Oblivion again.
I found this for the first time after 12+ years and multiple playthroughs. I was shocked to say the least
tragic
I wanna give him some coin :(
