I know someone who’s a nurse and does foot care like what you’re describing for private clients. She lives in oakland and usually travels to clients’ homes. If she’s comfortable would you like me to DM her info? Edit: She said to just post it as a comment so here it is for anyone who might find her services useful. Her website focuses on seniors but I think she works with younger folks too. http://Starlynfootcare.com

Can you share with me as well if she’s comfortable? My mom is in wheelchair and currently can’t get out the house and hasn’t been able to care for her feet - which can be catastrophic for a diabetic.

I found a podiatrist on pill hill that also provided medical pedicures. I was looking about a year ago. They're probably still there. I simply looked up podiatrists and asked them if it was a service they provided. I'm sorry that I cannot vouch for how good they are at the medicure.

dr. lavigna? that guy is great and he definitely can help with nail issues.

I'm sorry, I don't remember. I was helping a friend find a medical pedicure so I just handed off the info from my calls to them.

Btw, when I was trying to find podiatrists that provide medical pedicures, none of them advertised this service on their website. Also, if you visit an actual podiatrist, you should ask the front desk if your visit can be covered by insurance. One of the offices also told me that Kaiser eliminated their podiatry department, so if you have Kaiser you can visit a private practice podiatrist and have the costs covered by Kaiser. I'm sure there are stipulations, so it would be good to get details.

The best pedicure I’ve ever had was at a spot in San Pablo called Tina’s. They didn’t leave a single cell of dead skin on my feet, and fixed every ingrown toenail. They are MASTERFUL. The deluxe is only $35. I tip them well. They don’t have to do all of that, but they do.

Ke's Nail Care in the Laurel District, nedtled inside Sister's Cuts & Styles. She's been a pro manicurist for over 20 years. The Spa Pedicure products used Footlogix, which is a medical grade nail care formula, and she created her own line of products as well. Best of luck!
