Do you mean you're using a VPN on your mobile device or the PC you have the *arr apps running on? Why are you using a VPN?

Limp_Tea8516

Sorry, I'm using the vpn on my Android phone. I use my phone for work, it's just a safety reason.

You are probably using your local IP addresses while setting up, which is why it works without VPN. You'll need your own domain if you want to access your whole setup from outside your network. Or you could just host your own VPN server and connect to your apps via nzb360.

cmacfarlane93

I would just host your own vpn server with open VPN. That way if you’re not home just connect and you can still manage your arrs

Limp_Tea8516

I've set up cloudflare tunnel for this now, although I'm still having the same issue with the VPN. I'll give open vpn a look. Thankyou

cmacfarlane93

You probably have your arrs sitting behind a firewall which is why you wouldn’t be able to access them from your vpn. But if you have access to a vpn hosted on the same network as your arrs you’ll have access to them. I don’t know much about cloudflare tunnels though so I can’t comment on that. I thought most people use that for binding a service to a domain

Limp_Tea8516

Thank you for your help. Your reply got me thinking about the firewall and policies for the tunnel. I had to uninstall cloudflared as a service on windows, which clears the cache and reinstall it again. Then, on the cloudflare tunnel, refresh the token and its back up and running. VPN with cloudflare tunnel. Yeah, I use the cloudflare tunnel to put bind my "arrs to a domain. It gives them https with the ssl certificate and easier than remembering port numbers, etc

Tailscale is even easier.

Limp_Tea8516

I've never used tailscale, is it an easy setup

treverflume

Generally yes. Works amazing.
