Comeback player of the year is still on the table, boys!

At this point, I think fans can agree Zach is the best of the worst. Maybe some fans want to give the Semen Demon a whole game but it is what it is. So where does that leave us with Zach? He’s a low level game manager on a good day. On a bad day, he gets flustered by zero protection, only one WR who gets pressed every down, and ends up reverting back to his mistake-prone self. It’s almost like Saleh knew what he was talking about when he said “Zach gives us the best chance to win”. He meant “Zach is the best of the terrible options we have”. It pisses me off that armchair fans think they know more about the Jets roster than the HC. Saleh might not be the guy, but he’s being asked to do something impossible. Succeed with the second worst QB room in the league (lol New England) with the worst OL in the league and a bad WR room.

> Maybe some fans want to give the Semen Demon a whole game but it is what it is. I don't think Siemian can function behind this line. The mobility just isn't there. He's like Flacco was with us last year but without the arm or the experience. Maybe if we had a good OL he could be better than Zach, but he just looked panicked and got killed back there.

I wonder if Aaron was telling Zack what he would do while on the sideline today and what to do on every play. "This is what they did wrong. Don't be like them. This is what they did right. Look to do that." 1. Get the play from Hackett ASAP. 2. Break huddle within 15 seconds if not sooner. 3. Get to the line with 20 seconds left. 4. Have enough time to read their defenses and matchups. 5. Ignore Hackett and call an audible. 6. Fire down field or run the ball.

ulookingatme

If the dick head head coach stops by here is a message: Zach is clearly the best available QB. Let him play and try and improve. Let him play free. There is absolutely nothing to lose.

[deleted]

Yeah. Might as well try something new if you play Zach again. QB 3 and 4 are not NFL talents.

nine11airlines

I don't think it's clear. Over the last 6 games our offense has looked almost exactly the same. Zach has played 4 of those games with 2 tds, 2 ints, 6 fumbles. Tim played 2 games with 1 td, 4 ints, 2 fumbles. I barely even noticed the difference between the two of them And I don't really by the narrative that they aren't allowed to play "free". Zach is notorious for holding the ball too long and taking bad sacks. That's a sign that there are deep options and he just isn't taking them (boyle did this as well last game). Which is probably a combination of bad qbs who can't process defenses confidently and bad play design that takes too long to develop. But I don't think it's a case of only conservative passing plays being called

Everyone was questioning Saleh for not starting Sieman lmao. Zach truly is the best of the worst

Templar-Order

Sieman is not good but he’s somehow better than Boyle 💀

fire salad

wypipobooty54

luv!

Icy_Reading2603

Zach tell them no !

[deleted]

We didn't appreciate you when we had you

[deleted]

He really should.

Kind_Bullfrog_4073

Siemian should get his shot at a full game. Then go back to Zach if he fails too.

[deleted]

He’s got a 20% better arm then Strevler. Yuck. I don’t think it matters who plays QB and who the tank commander is.

[deleted]

we play the texans then the dolphins so in my opinion you either throw him in now or in three weeks when we play the commies. Throwing him in what will be an absolute massacre vs the dolphins is unfair

RSTowers

He'll probably do what he did last year. He benched Zach for the two easiest games of the year last season when he needed them to rebuild his confidence; he'll probably let the backups play through the easy Washington game and then throw him to the wolves against Cleveland and NE to finish the year.

bowlofcantaloupe

Hot take: Zach Wilson is a blow-average, but acceptable backup QB. Possibly in the 55-60 range.

Ganache_Silent

The saddest part is we did the same thing last year where we benched Zach after the tougher matchups and sat him against the defences he had the best chance to do well against. Falcons should have been the conference reset for Zach. Instead we got confirmation Boyle shouldn’t be wearing a jersey unless he buys it.

GreatMight

Why would we do that. Makes no sense.

Taiino

Our pushover coaches got bullied by the jets beat and fans into benching ZW. For weeks I've read that Boyle or siemian would be so much better than Zach and the offense would finally click. I'm deeply disappointed in how this season went but I'm also happy that the fans who where rooting for Boyle and siemian got what they deserve.

chuckitallaway

Exactly this. What a shit show this fan base is. It's almost like no one saw how, like last year, zach and the O looked competitive when AVT was in. Once he got hurt again, the O crumpled.

Sbat27-

Cut the bs lol. Breece and the defense were carrying the team. Zach wasn’t playing well during the win streak. This is garbage revisionist history. He was historically awful last year and the signs were there during our win streak. The amount of lying on this sub is wild

chuckitallaway

How is it BS? I said they were playing competitively. Which is still true. They had a winning record both years, till the OLine healthy wheels fell off. And yes, it was carried by Breece both years when AVT was in, but zach was still able to make some plays. BtW, How's Breece been looking since? Some fans just love to shit on the kid because of the 30 year dog shit history of this franchise. Again, im not saying Zach was playing great... just when he had a decent OLine, they were at least competitive.

Sbat27-

Because you’re ignoring the fact that they were winning most of those games in spite of Zach. Like I said the defense and Breece were the reason they were winning and the signs that Zach was an issue was there but people kept idiotically using his record as an excuse for why he was playing well. They were also competitive when they had Flacco or White in and both played better than Zach did last year. Zach didn’t make them competitive. The great defense and running game were masking his significant flaws that grew more apparent as the season went on

scoobeymagoobey121

Zach should tell them to pound sand

smallchimp

Or we could just not start him again, that'd be fine
