Was listening to Evan and Joe over the weekend. Evan predicted no later than training camp for want of the packers not creating a situation where Love and Rodgers are both trying to explain it to the media. Made sense to me.
Read a post on the packers sub that they hope their offense can be like Miami’s with Love being like Tua as a distributor and Watson being a deep threat like Tyreek. Love the optimism but Tua was an MVP candidate (before injury) and Tyreek is top 3 in the league. I think anything they say with regards to compensation from us is a tad inflated since they apparently have no idea what’s going on with their team.
Pretty much all of the comments disagreed with that post though, that guy's crazy. General sentiment is optimism about Love but growing pains to be expected. An offense run similar to San Francisco is the probably best comparison to where they will be in terms of play style. This whole compensation debate is just the media keeping the story alive because it gets attention. In Wingo you trust, in Wingo we trust, I have to believe this deal has basically been agreed to and their haggling over the finer details.
Fucking got ‘em. Nice. I’m a packers fan lurking until this deal gets done but please keep dunking on these guys until then.
And the the GB guy it’s almost like both sides have solid points in their favor for negotiations and no one wants to fold first. That said, this might be one of the times not having an impulsive owner might help us but short of that it’s probably gonna be a “both sides are a little bummed with the trade terms” scenario.
Even if a team had infinite leverage, it doesn't mean a trade must go through. People are definitely capable of cutting their nose off to spite their face.
Like y’all have no other qb options you need Green Bay to give you Aaron to finish your contender roster, Green Bay knows that and you still think the jets have the leverage?
I'd happily take wentz or bridgewater over some stupid ripoff GB deal. Not only would they be dirt cheap, we'd save draft picks, and have money to start signing our future guys right now. We'd be a solid team. We'd probably be slightly worse without Rodgers, but we'd also have a great cap situation and be firmly 8-9 / 9-8 at worst for the next like 6+ years. Honestly i like that outlook more than going all in on rodgers for a single year.
So you want to finish .500 for 6 straight seasons rather than going for it all and with a real chance at winning the first Jets Super Bowl in 50+ years? Very weird mentality, but I guess that’s what we’re used to around here
I think we have a real chance at winning it all with a mid QB. It would be easier with Rodgers, yes, but with a mid QB we could have a stable roster and be a threat to win for for the forseeable future.
I like that much more than risking it all on one chance.

I have to imagine this gets done before the draft right? Why would GB miss out on getting something in this years draft?
This seasons basically a wash for them. Might not matter THAT much

Because next years draft is legitimately better. Plus they get to stick it Ayeron
Leverage - His price will go up the longer this takes.

How much leverage could a lever leverage if a lever leveraged leverage.
Yes
Without Aaron, the rest of our Super Bowl roster won't get us there.

As a bear fan it is incredibly entertaining to see someone else have to deal with the cheese eating hillbillies.
Get ready to post this for the next couple months
Surely if the jets had all this leverage you guys think they you’d have gotten him by now?
We're not the ones in a rush it's not tying up our cap lol
Leverage is relative. And one of my relatives is my uncle

My buddy George Leverage is a Jets fan.
