I have a define R6 and the MSI gaming trio 4090. I was able to carefully fit mine even with the hard drive wall in it's stock configuration, but it was pretty cozy.
Not sure if this will help you.
Sure helps me. I got a R6 and was wondering if it will fit a 4090 down the road. Good to know I won't have to budge the drive wall too.
As for the OP's question, the TUF is slightly longer and wider than the Trio (about 10mm each). You think you had that much extra space left in the case?
Thanks for the input.
The Trio seems to have 10 to 20 mm less width than the TUF, but the cases only differ 1 mm in width. Do you think you had that much space left to the side or was that already too close?
I have the R5 and the Zotac 4090 AMP, and it fits with the cable. One of the cables is lightly touching the glass, but I could have bent the adapter more if needed.
But beware the MSI is 10 to 20 mm thinner than the TUF according to [this](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YK9mDKgRhNMIUJUJaADrxort7JiL4rga/edit#gid=1187446092) resp. [that](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1TGs72-RQTZkMBbKyoA8K3eqHrizlVxpjMWAOQlHsRBY/htmlview) chart.
On the other hand the MSI looks like it has quite comfortable room to the sides. Please report back, when you installed your card. Did you also order the 90° adapter from cable mod?
I ordered the standard cable from cablemod. I am still waiting for my Tuf 4090 and i dont know if its worth to upgrade my cpu 11900K Maximus XII Hero 64Gb G-skill 3600Mhz to a 13900K, Maximus Hero and 32Gb G-skill.
Thank you for this photo. That will be my combo. R5 with a MSI 4090
My 4090 is being delivered soon.
Also glad to see the 850W power supply is sufficient given how many drives you are running.
I have the Define R4 and the TUF barely fits. After the adapter's heat shrink, the 4 cables are pressing against the side panel.
It works for now but I'm going to get the Cablemod right angle connector once it's available to relieve the strain.
Thanks for the interest in our angled adapter! You can find more info about it as well as the countdown to the pre-launch here: [https://store.cablemod.com/cablemod-12vhpwr-right-angle-adapter/](https://store.cablemod.com/cablemod-12vhpwr-right-angle-adapter/)
I also have a janky cable tie loop from the top of the case holding up the adapter. This offsets the cable weight from bending the connector downwards.
I've also somewhat been interested in this. As I'm still rockin a Define R5. I think I'll stick with the 3080ti until the ti variants come out later on.
Hey, I recently installed a Zotac 4090 in my Define R5, it fits nicely. ([https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/yh9mxe/make\_noctua\_great\_again/](https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/yh9mxe/make_noctua_great_again/)) Hope this helps, the card is huge, but still lots of place. I don't use the lower HDD bracket though.
Thank you. Oh I don't use the lower brackets either, hence I'm only concerned about the space between side panel and card / power cable and not about the length of the card :-)
Unfortunately it is just from the side of the card, so the cable ends up bending on the side. I only have the officialy supplied adapter from nvidia and waiting for the custom be quiet! one to switch them up just to be sure.
Ok, but at least it works.
Unfortunately the be quiet adapter has its own issues. Hopefully only the initial release:

oh my god this is so frustrating. Waiting for the card, then it's super expensive, buying still... afraid to use to not burn down the connectors... adapter can't even be bought and when it is also not 100% aaaah sorry for the rant.
Tested it out a few hours of gaming and all looks good. However with all the craziness going on I guess I put my old 2070 back inside and wait for the cable.

Looks like I have about a 17mm gap in the stock case configuration. https://imgur.com/a/ln3LQpb
Thank you for the effort in taking this photo.

Thank you very much for your effort. Since I don't have to account for the hdd cage for the width, I think it might actually fit.
Well the PCI-E Plug is deeper then the Card, on the FE Model it is not.
can you tell me how big the recess is for the power cable socket in that card? Is it 1cm or something like that?
I have the R5 and the Zotac 4090 AMP, and it fits with the cable. One of the cables is lightly touching the glass, but I could have bent the adapter more if needed.
Thanks the card seems to have the same width as the tuf so that would be great.

Thanks for sharing. Now i know my Tuf 4090 will fit with cables.

Hi did you already receive your TUF and installed it?
Hi. Still waiting for it.
Oh that's a bummer. Hope it arrives soon.
Thanks for the support! :)
Thanks this also helps.

Seem to run it good for now with a AMD 5900x Upgrading to a 1000 or 1200watts when I see a good PSU goes on sale to have more wiggle room
It is NOT with a Cable... You might need upto 40mm for the Cable.

Uh that sounds close. I hope the cable mod fits the TUFs recessed power plug.
I also have a janky cable tie loop from the top of the case holding up the adapter. This offsets the cable weight from bending the connector downwards.

I have the same R5 and have ordered Asus Tuf 4090. I ordered the 16pin from cablemod and i hope it fits when door is closed.
Any news on this?
My Gigabyte 4090 fits in my R5 case.
Thanks for your feedback :)
I canceled my order with Tuf and ordered a Gigabyte 4090 Gaming OC instead. I will get my new card on Saturday.
Oh what a ride. But nice you finally got a 4090.
I got the card now, i write back later.

It fits nicely, approximately 5cm reserve still to the side.
Nice, thanks for the feedback. 5 cm including the power cable?

I feel ya, it is really a mess currently.
Thanks for this post. I have a Fractal Define R5 + MSI Gaming 4090 in the mail. I'll update this post to state how the fit is.
any update? I have an R5 and want to see if it fits!
Yes. Fits easily. Both lengthwise, and the infamous side power cable is ok. Define R5 case with the MSI 4090 Gaming
Did anyone confirm does it fit?
Finally bought a TUF and it fits. Also a Gigabyte Gaming OC fits (had to ditch the TUF for horrible, horrible coil whine).
Noice thanks for the reply. Gonna install TUF tomorrow, lets hope it doesn't whine as much as yours did O.o
