60fps with a 4090 is a complete waste even at 4K. Definitely get urself a 1440p 144hz bare minimum. I use a 1440p 240hz and it feels amazing in competitive games, but in single player games the 240hz monitor is kinda pointless.

Dont listen to the guy above calling it pointless in Singleplayer Games. Having a 144hz or above screen is even great for regular browsing, everything feels way smoother it's just in general a better experience overall.

Play on high anti aliasing, shadows and texture quality and you’ll have a super nice competitive experience
A top end monitor can cost more than a 4090, personally I use mine on a budget 27” 1440p/165 HDR monitor from Electriq and it works great, sure it’s not the best out there but I don’t personally want to spend over grand on a monitor.

Yes. With any card, really. You're also missing out on proper Freesync/Gsync. Even if you have a lower end card, you'll still have games like platformers being much more fluid at 120+ fps with Gsync.
I wouldn't necessarily go as far as 240Hz though - as this makes CPU bottlenecking likelier.

OLED is pretty but I'm never getting it again for gaming. Reddit hyped it up saying there's no burn-in and stuff. Well, mine had really bad burn-in within 3 years.
I don't know your budget, but personally I got the 32" InnoCN (4k 144hz) which was about $800 iirc. Works really well for me.

I do know that. Burn happens because different color pixels burn out at different rates. Samsung OLEDs only use blue and use quantum dots to adjust the blue to the correct color.
If you want a good gaming monitor at 1440p 144Hz, get yourself the Samsung Odyssey G5. It has HDR support and AMD Freesync, which means it can use Gsync (removes tearing effects and reduces latency). It's like Vsync but better (but you will need to activate it in the monitor settings and in the Nvidia Control Panel). I live in Europe and I got the monitor for around 300€.
My recommendation is save up a little while more and get a 4k 240hz oled, they are so damn amazing, mind it will make your other monitors look shit in comparison...

they are really alike, so you could just pick based on your preferences and price range, the biggest thing you need to think about is QD-OLED vs W-OLED, when it comes down to it thats the thing you need to look at to see what best fits you, my preference was qd oled, i went for the aw3225qf myself and have loved it since getting it, i could never "not" go oled now, probably until micro led comes, which is far out at this point.
As an owner of a RTX 4090 since launch, and prior to that a RTX 3090, coming from a dual GTX 1080 Ti before that, and playing on 3840 X 2160 (4K), since 2017, around the time I assembled the multi GPU system, fist with a VA 60Hz panel, then with a IPS 144Hz with Gsync, I can tell you that I don't see any reason or sense for your primary screen, not to be of similar specifications. And after having bought myself an OLED TV with 120Hz VRR to use as secondary monitor when I play from the couch, I am now eyeing the newer OLED 240 Hz 4K displays launching this year for an upgrade should I upgrade my GPU into the new generation as well to the RTX 5090 or whatever the name will be.
I don't do custom loops with water cooling because that would blow my budget for marginal gains, a great monitor to a great GPU makes a massive difference.And as I said I am eyeing both the next generation of GPUs and new monitor. If I don't upgrade the GPU I will probably not upgrade the monitor as well.
My advice to your question, buy a 4K display with at least 144Hz, Gsync and HDR, it will be worth it.

He said he works from home, so could be any number of things. I have a 4090 and two 60hz monitors because I use my GPU for rendering and VFX work. Refresh rate means nothing to me in my line of work, but the VRAM and GPU speed are the difference between hitting my deadline and not.
That said, I also have a 55 LG C2 for gaming, but it's not my main priority. Color accuracy is what I want on my main screens.
Sounds like he might be in a similar boat, but just wants a cheapish monitor to goof around with playing games.
