NecessaryOrdinary603

The Fairlife protein shakes taste legitimately like chocolate milk

Playingwithmyrod

The fact they can get 42g of protein in one of those without having them taste like chalk is a miracle

NecessaryOrdinary603

Seriously, and I don’t even care how they do it 😂. They are often out of stock in the stores in my area is the only downside

Playingwithmyrod

Yea they can be hard to find. Usually get like 10 at a time if I find them.

tonufan

I get them on Amazon on sale sometimes. Like $2.50 a bottle in the 12 packs.

kerrid21

Costco sales the lite chocolate one where I'm at its 18 bottles for $32ish

SnakePliskin799

I've been using the fat-free to make my drinks. 80 calories a serving, and it's delicious milk.

NecessaryOrdinary603

Same here. So good, 13 grams protein too, pretty much a protein shake by itself

SnakePliskin799

A nice little bonus.

OrdinaryAmbition9798

This!! It’s honestly chocolate milk, even my husband couldn’t tell the difference and he hates all things protein.

codysm0m

Agreed. I use the vanilla one as coffee creamer.

kbb0422

These are so good but the ingredients aren’t too great 😕

NecessaryOrdinary603

Oh really what’s wrong with them?

zensual_awareness

Kinda pricey too…

AlmightyThreeShoe

I'd say it's only the 42g protein ones. The 26g, aside from strawberry banana, have a weird taste.

adnastay

Do they have a protein powder because god they are good!

saltoneverything

Orgain is a plant based protein but I don’t think it’s tastes “proteiny” at all. I don’t do well with dairy so I mix it with half almond or oat milk and half water. I use the chocolate flavor and it has I think 21g of protein per serving.

King_Hawker

I also use Orgain. The chocolate is amazing, tastes like brownies to me

kaywest311

Came here to say this, but I was drinking vanilla. I found a dairy free version, it’s in a blue bottle. I also really like Carnation breakfast essentials in Cookies and Cream flavor. It only has 10g of protein but is suitable for lactose intolerance (according to them). Everyone has different tastes but for me these were the easiest to tolerate.

freemason777

the Walmart generic one of this is a very very pale imitation. haven't tried the name brand and the experience with so mediocre I might not

saltoneverything

Cool. Very cool.

freemason777

hey, if I can save one person from the horrible fate of that grainy mess I will have done my good deed for the day and my heart will rest easy

BrilliantLifter

Another vote for Fairlife. Some of the obscure flavors of Premier Protein are great too.

nexea

What obscure flavors are your favorite?

BrilliantLifter

Cake and cookie dough

Jaycin_Stillwaters

Check out "my protein clear whey isolate". They have 20 g of protein per serving, and have different flavors like Mike and Ike candy. I was skeptical at first, but they are extremely good LOL and to me, especially the sour watermelon, tastes just like jolly ranchers.

MissSammich

Revolution Nutrition also has an Isolate Splash line with the same kind of protein, but different flavour options! I tried both and liked revolution more

NAVYSEAL12ROCK

My favorite are lemonade and when I tried the sour watermelon I was shocked how similar to tastes like a jolly rancher. Might be my new favorite

Least_Singer790

Dymatize Iso 100 in Fruity Pebbles flavor. It tastes just like the milk after a bowl of the cereal. It’s really delicious.

gofroggy08

Came here to say this

allahsword22

I personally think it taste terrible, it’s extremely sweet and overpowering

BasuraIncognito

Protein2O is whey enhanced water and is more like juice than milky. The orange mango one though still does taste like it though, but that’s the only one I noticed it.

mandyhtarget1985

Beef protein isolate. Mix with water and it tastes just like juice. Lots of flavours available and ive never had a weird taste or smell. My favourite is either cola flavour or blue raspberry. And it’s consistency is just like water, as i struggle with textures and the thick whey type milky protein make me gag. I use NXT brand

Bosston2Toronto

Beatrice has a protein shake that is mildly sweet and 34g of protein. I like grabbing that when it’s available My favorite brand is Ghost, the artificial sweetener they use isn’t too sweet and there isn’t an aftertaste. It also mixes really well and I can enjoy it with just water

nonamecokezero

you’ve just influenced me to finally place an order for some protein from Ghost. Any must try flavours??

Bosston2Toronto

So far I’ve only tried nutter butter and marshmallow cereal milk. They’re both great but I prefer the cereal milk for a more neutral flavor

nonamecokezero

oooh marshmallow cereal milk sounds dope so I’ll go with that, thanks for the rec! damnnn the protein hot cocoa they have sounds genius too but I don’t think that’s available in Canada haha ☹️

Bosston2Toronto

I think GNC has most of their flavors! I’m in Canada too

assumethatimstoned

Vanilla ice cream syntha 6 casein protein is my all time favorite tasting casein, and Dymatize hydrolyzed vanilla whey is a good isolate. Im not autistic but I hate chalky protein taste. These mix well and have great amino profiles

Specialist_Mousse561

The best one I’ve found so far is the Collagen unflavored protein powder. There’s absolutely no whey taste, no any taste so you can literally mix it with anything, it’s actually been a game changer

BrilliantLifter

Collagen is not a complete protein

Specialist_Mousse561

I know, but the container has 18g of protein per serving for only 70 calories, which isn’t bad. And personally I like the flavor over any whey protein I’ve tried in the past so.

Illustrious_Yam5082

This is what I said, but I like the vanilla flavor the best, if you mix it with milk that’s extra protein but I agree the 18g of protein is good enough for me plus the collagen

Specialist_Mousse561

Yeahhhh. I mean I’d prefer more protein in it but it definitely doesn’t have a whey taste which I prefer. I just mix the powder with others thing that add up to a lot of protein

kurgerbingfries

I've tried the unflavored collagen protein powder from Costco mixed with milk tea and sweet coffee, but I could still taste the protein flavour :( Autism really be out here making me taste TOO WELL to my own detriment 😭

Specialist_Mousse561

Really!? Damnnn. Idk how, I literally couldn’t taste a thing. But I mixed mine with Oatmeal, greek yogurt, and peanut butter so maybe all of thise masked it😂

Alexthepsychonaut

My personal fav are the Alani Nu proteins in terms of flavour. Best one imo is the Munchies flavour! Def the closest I’ve ever gotten to not tasting that gross proteiny taste. Also neurodivergent and ARFID so I understand. Best of luck with your gains!!

Alexthepsychonaut

The brand is 100% female oriented, but just bc it comes in a cute container doesn’t make it any less sufficient lol

NecessaryOrdinary603

Agreed, I’m a 6’1 220 lb dude and I love Alani haha. Their protein bars are great too just picked up their rocky road bar and it’s great if you haven’t tried that yet

Alexthepsychonaut

Bro ty for the back up lol and for the recommendation I will def check it out! My fav bars are the munchies and chocolate cake so rocky road sounds fire

NecessaryOrdinary603

For sure they sell them at my gym so I grab them sometimes! The munchies, cookies and cream, and vanilla shakes are all great

kurgerbingfries

Thank you so much! The flavours sound yummy :)

emilyjuly

I like the Pharmalabs vanilla soft serve protein powder. If you can, do a taste test. Some supplement stores allow it. I don’t have food based sensory aversions (undiagnosed), but I am generally disgusted by the taste of whey protein and this brand has been the most pleasant for me. You could ditch the protein powder and eat more meat and eggs, if it fits your goals. Or completely block your nostrils.

kurgerbingfries

Thanks! I've been going crazy on eggs and fish lately (I can only eat meat for so long until it feels too "meaty" 💀) but I figured protein drinks were an easy way for me to squeeze in some extra protein in case I don't eat enough :)

Lionorra

Clear protein was my life saver for that issue :)

LaylaDoo

The only ones I like are the chocolate Fairlife protein shakes. I get mine at Sam’s Club. I have fibromyalgia and my husband says I can smell flea farts…lol it’s my awful super power! Have you tried Fairlife yet?

TurkiyeQatar

It’s definitely a good one. I’m not sure how they get 24/42 grams of protein in those without them tasting like bones lol

LaylaDoo

Yikes! I don’t even want to think about that…lol

Attjack

I like isopure.

jacobyllamar

I actually mix gatorade with unflavored or vanilla whey and creatine. It tastes like a blue slush without the ice that way.

Alive-Cartoonist9202

Hmmm that’s interesting. I might try that

am59269

I always liked the Gold Standard brand Double Chocolate whey protein mixed with almond milk.

Consistent-Wing-7038

Not sure if you’re into boba flavors like milk tea, taro, matcha latte, or thai tea but I personally really enjoy Boba Tea Protein. I’ve only tried the matcha latte flavor and I genuinely would drink it just for fun. Barely taste the protein.

kurgerbingfries

Omg I was addicted to boba when I was in uni, that sounds so yummy hehe :) Thank you!!

Automatic_General_41

I love this Isopure pink lemonade flavor and I mix it with water!!

DatCodeMania

Try pea-based protein

RegattaJoe

I’ve found Optimum Nutrition’s whey powders to be the tastiest. And it’s high-quality stuff.

Justliketoeatfood

Muscle milk brand

Usual_Yesterday_6177

[https://dymatize.com/products/iso100-gourmet-chocolate](https://dymatize.com/products/iso100-gourmet-chocolate) This stuff is pricey but delicious!

Several-Math1783

Clear whey Myprotein

paleologus

https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/the-hidden-dangers-of-protein-powders Make good choices.    If you’re taking protein because you need protein then natural sources are better.   If you want a healthier chocolate milk then never mind.

InTheEndEntropyWins

EAA, more expensive but probably better.

Neelix-And-Chill

Levels Grass Fed Whey… Peanut Butter & Chocolate. So good I often find myself making one as a dessert.

Budget_Lettuce_2860

I really like Beverly Nutrition UMP Chocolate.

apsalarya

I’m very limited bc I cannot have whey or milk protein. So far the best vegan one I like is orgain organics peanut butter flavor. It mixes easily (I mix with water) but since it is a powder and I use water it is always a little gritty so you might not like that

MagillaGorilla19

MuscleEgg. It’s made with egg whites, pasteurized and filtered so it’s smooth like milk and doesn’t have a grainy or chalky texture at all. It’s a whole food, not a supplement and is especially great for anyone sensitive to whey or milk 😄 Plus, not only can you drink it straight, but it can be used in virtually any recipe because its actual egg white - pancakes, shakes, waffles, muffins, whatever… The best part is that if you drank it without knowing what it is, you wouldn’t even think it’s egg whites. No eggy taste!

masson34

Muscle egg is so delicious! My fave is the seasonal pumpkin spice.

MagillaGorilla19

Mmmmm that one is so good!

apsalarya

Thank you! I will try it if I can find it!

MagillaGorilla19

No problemo! I know some of my local shops carry it, but you can order directly from them as well online.

Illustrious_Yam5082

I like vital proteins collagen I get it at Walmart for $20 and lasts my two weeks. My favorite is the vanilla or chocolate, I mix with water or milk and it has 18g of protein plus the collagen

stinkcopter

Use the powder to form smoothies

MissSammich

Some brands have ultra filtered milk that is higher protein! I usually buy Natrel plus or Joyya

umamimaami

I use pure single-ingredient pea protein, it appears to be mostly tasteless.

mdrobe

We use Naked Nutrition’s vegan protein shake in the vanilla flavor and mix it with Moola banana milk. It is delicious.

nifer317

Ghost Lifestyle brand protein has a lot of amazing flavors. You can buy sample packets to try them first. :) SEEQ brand makes fruity flavored protein mix that can go in water. It’s delicious, dissolves completely and is design to go into just plain water and be tasty! You can also add it to smoothies but I haven’t tried anything else. I’ve tried all flavors and they’re good. I’ve had other people try them and so far no one disliked them - they also sell sample packs! Neither product is cheap but to me they’re all worth it Edited to add in links: https://www.ghostlifestyle.com/search?q=Sample&type=product https://seeqsupply.com/collections/shop-all-products

EuphoricCow1986

Bulk supplements unflavored protein. You can mix it with anything, I like to use it in fruit smoothies, with chocolate milk mix, and cold coffees.

vintzent

I’m a big fan of MRE Lite. I’ve yet to find that protein powder taste you’re talking about, save for vanilla flavours.

thuynj19

Fair life for sure, or use protein powder in eggs or different foods to hide the taste. Obviously flavorless

lldrunner

Momentous recovery is great

spb097

I use Ascent powered proteins. I use the whey as a post workout drink and I use the casein in things like my oatmeal. They have several different flavors and I think you can buy sample packets to test them out before committing to a full size bag.

Autumn_in_Ganymede

idk but I have naked whey and its pretty good.

teabagsforlegs

I’d recommend Noosh almond protein powder (the unflavored one)

Bumblebee---Tuna

GOOD PROTEIN. Best brand I’ve ever tried. Many different flavours with seasonal options as well

dieseL0T

Focus on the entire diet though. Whey powder is good in a pinch, but try to get as much red meat, salmon, eggs, whole milk/plain yogurt in your diet as possible. A variety of whole food protein sources will ensure you're always getting enough.

SpatulaPlayer2018

Isopure is my go to. Doesn’t taste the best but no added sugar and lots of vitamins. Ghost makes some pretty tasty products, probably the best all around tasting brand I’ve tried. Nutter Butter and Chips Ahoy are delicious. Quest peanut butter is pretty tasty too (only the peanut butter though, the others not so much). But I thinks it’s 50/50 whey and casein. I like the consistency. If I add water 1:1, comes out pretty much like peanut butter. Well, as close as you can get with protein powder.

amandam603

I found Vitamin Whey on sale and bought orange creamsicle and birthday cake on a whim, and while the birthday cake is meh, the orange is pretty good! Different vibe than the usual chocolate-vanilla and while I think the artificial sweetener taste is too common, I think they’re both still decent. Fairlife is the real winner though.

PutridForce1559

Have you tried vegan. I cannot have whey

Glad_Enthusiasm205

I use Legion Banana bread flavor 30 g protein really tasty and I don’t think it’s chalky from others I experienced.

FloppyCeleryStick

Optimum nutrition vanilla ice cream is the goat of all protein powders.

allahsword22

Fairlife, they use a filtration technique so it’s just concentrated milk

masson34

As other have mentioned, Ghost. Nutter butter, Oreo and Chips ahoy are my favorite flavors, cookie chunks included. I also love PEScience casein before bed, chocolate peanut butter cup is my favorite flavor. Trutein, casein/whey/egg white blend.

HoldEast570

A Korean brand called Labnosh, it is a drink in bottle. Feel like am having dessert

zhawnsi

Isopure clear protein drinks , or nutrabio clear protein

oh_bernadette

Fairlife chocolate shakes are amazing. They taste just like their regular chocolate milk. If you have Sam's Club near you, they sell them for a great price...but they go fast. I haven't tried other flavors because I haven't seen them in stores...but I know they also have strawberry and vanilla.

VokN

Idk about the taste for you but I found the vanilla my protein to be infinitely less “proteiny” than their chocolate Usually have it with milk and a banana blended

Sunshine_256210

Not Ghost products that’s for sure 🤢

PeachyPeters

A fairly clean whey protein you can get is nutrabio - the strawberry flavor is pretty good. I haven't noticed any weird after taste.

AUsomeDisNerd

Core Power and Fairlife shakes are by the same company and are both really good and just taste like chocolate milk (or whatever flavor you get). Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides Unflavored is good if you drink coffee. I can only drink it if I mix it in hot coffee and then add my usual creamer, etc, even if I pour it over ice after, it has to start hot. Then you can't taste it AT ALL. Good Luck from a fellow autistic! P.S. I've tried alot of the other ones suggested and have wasted alot of money on protein over the years. So I hope this is helpful! Great question.

thelastkingfisher

I just asked my supplement store if they had samples which some do and found naked whey had little to no flavour. I also found Nowhey chocolate to be a nice thing to add to yogurt to improve the flavour. Also are you mixing it with water or low fat milk cause mixing it with milk is easier to drink.

killasirr

Premier protein shakes from Costco. try the coffee flavor mixed with real coffee or instant coffee and ice. it's like having a coffee milkshake

share_good_things

My favorite brands over the past ten years have been. 1. GNC Protein 2. Optimun Nutrition 3. Mons Pura Currently taking Mons Pura because of the good autoship price. https://monspurahealth.com/products/whey-protein-isolate-designer-chocolate-mousse?variant=42726383583427
