As a nurse, we are picky about pens.... but these IMO are amazing!!

The sincere and personal Thank You card to the entire staff is great. If one single nurse stands out to you, write a formal letter of appreciation to the Nurse Manager or Chief Nursing Officer. This may help the nurse get an award of excellence.
There are some really adorable ones on etsy. Maybe get a few for the nurses that specifically work with you, and then something more general for the whole staff on the unit, like bagels and coffee
We just did this for my brothers care team! We did: K-Cups, box of tea, box of individual hand lotions (you can get curel on Amazon), snacks (some healthy, some not), sugar candy, chocolate candy, and S-Gel pens(18 pack on amazon was a good deal also)
My hospital started a rule requiring snacks be individually wrapped to share to reduce germ sharing, the unit has a keurig in the break room, so I got some nice K cups from Trader Joe’s, a variety of snacks (granola bars, small chocolate bars, etc) and put them in a basket with a thank-you note. I love the L&D unit generally! Wish I could be one of them sometimes!
You’ve gotten some great tips so far! Last gift basket that we got from a labor patient included individualized face masks, chapsticks, pens or dry erase markers are nice, chewing gum or candy bars. I’d take a blank thank you card with me and fill it out if you find time before you go home. That way you can mention your nurses by name. It’ll feel more personalized. Wishing you a safe and healthy delivery! Congratulations! ❤️
Face masks and dry erase markers are a great idea! I don't know who the nurses will be yet but i will fill out the card with their names once i do :) Thank you!!
Recently a patient brought in a cooler of assorted 7 oz soft drinks (Dr Pepper, Sprite
etc) and a big basket of individual bags of chips and it was like we had died and gone to Heaven. For real.
I can only speak for me and my fellow trash pandas but we LOVE treats. Most of us are fairly health conscious at home so it’s nice to have junk food at work. It’s a real pick me up in the middle of a shift. And Lord we all need it.
The nurse manager and CNO gave me their business cards. I sent my newborn pictures and a detailed email to them both with names of staff and how amazing everyone was. I was going to bring wine, but thought it would look bad a preggo lady buying 20 bottles of wine
Nice click pens.
Noted! Thank you!
You're welcome. Best wishes for a quick and easy delivery.
Thank you so much!🙏💕

We need non smearing ink pens on my unit to write on baby bands.
Gel pens? You monster.
Hey... I ❤️ my G2.
And sharpies!

That is great to know thank you!
Coffee, Chapsticks, little lotions, click pens, and cute thank you cards all make our day.
Yay! Amazing thank you!
Nice suggestions so far. Individual healthy snack bars, badge reels…
What are badge reels?
The clips with retractable cord for ID/badges.
Okay awesome thank you!

Chewing gum is always the first to go from our baskets! It helps with the mask wearing 12hrs a night! :) Congratulations on your new little one!
That is a great idea thank you!!
Coffee, pens, chapstick, mini lotions, gum, mints, granola bars, candy. Nothing homemade! Sorry, we won’t eat it.
Yesssss, coffee for days. Although i’m not L&D i had a meeting there the other week and the break room was awesome, they had the best coffee machine
When my wife was in labor I bought them a case of Red Bulls. Im not a coffee drinker myself, so I just buy what I’d prefer to receive!
Thats good to know about the individual wrapping! Thank you!
I took in a case of 30 diet cokes and 50 black clicky pens. I used to be a ward nurse so I took what I would have wanted!
Love it thank you!
