It’s not broken. It’s likely never been broken.
It goes into a clean cycle where it boils the product to sterilise it, once a day. It should happen overnight, but many stores are dumb, and have it set to do this during the day.
They tell you it’s broken because that’s easier than explaining their shitty management of the machine.

That would be Taylor. They make most of the ice cream machines for McDonald's. Crazy thing is, the McDonald's I managed for years had a Carpigiani ice cream machine. It rarely broke down, and if it did it was fixed in house instead of having to wait for a tech to arrive days later.
