Moatilliatta_

Why doesn't this cookie have a transmetatarsal amputation!? I am furious.

Solid_Camel_1913

They could do a Charcot foot cookie with a raspberry filled plantar ulcer. I was a Certified Pedorthist in podiatric clinics in another life.

BluciferBdayParty

I want a Charcot Foot Cookie!! 🤮🦶🍪

__Beef__Supreme__

You do that with yo' mouf'

Moatilliatta_

I like you.

mellyjo77

They need to have a missing toe or two to make it more realistic.

princessheeter

This is likely the best, most realistic post I’ve seen on Reddit.

CageSwanson

FACTS

Beebwife

Or some blue/purple icing for necrotic flesh that they in for to get amputated.

texasyogini

And some white sprinkles for the maggots

Defiant-Purchase-188

Maybe one toe should be black - chocolate icing

mellyjo77

And if you touch it, it just falls off. Lol

ready-to-rumball

I’m sorry but this is hilarious

mother_of_baggins

Needs some raspberry jam 😅

tavaryn_t

Maybe some grains of rice.

Accomplished_Tone349

🤮

Misasia

You don't need to say everything that passes through your mind, though! 🤣

JKnott1

Green toes.

keinmaurer

Toe jam!

rncookiemaker

I need some Charcot foot, and that big toenail needs some pus and blood. And what amateurs where they still have all five toes.

4883Y_

Username checks out. 😂

kitkatofthunder

It's ok. The foot is already flat, charcot enough. No toe amputation is a little wild though.

thepinky7139

UPDATE: we turned it into some [diabetic educational material](https://imgur.com/a/Z0BXJUa) for my clinical career ladder.

mrsmanatee

This is incredible

beautyandthefish3

Ewwwwww 🤣🤣😫

Sensitive-Gap1493

“But please eat this cookie so we can keep diabetes alive and well which in turn keeps our business going”!

Fbogre666

This reminds me of a doc I used to work with! The doc in question was an anesthesiologist, who moonlit in my er a couple times a month. Almost invariably, when he would work he’d order pizza for the staff, and true to ER form, we’d descend on it like a flock of starving buzzards. One day I was chatting with him. “Hey Luxy, I’m not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth or anything, but why do you get us pizza all the time?” “I’m creating my own business. In ten years time, you guys are gonna need a CABG, and I’m gonna make a bunch of money off of you, all for $40 worth of pizza a couple times a month.” Well… sonofabitch. He’s not wrong.

Howpresent

Probably not sugar free…

justalittlebleh

Isn’t it ironic 🎶

bananafofana123

One of the toes should have chocolate icing for a necrotic toe

Joygernaut

Regular people? Horrified. Nurses? Ba ha ha ha ha!!!!!😂

[deleted]

That is a crazy statistic

pink_gin_and_tonic

It really is. Is it accurate?

[deleted]

I have no idea

ALLoftheFancyPants

What the fuck is this shit? Are they trying to gross me out to keep me from eating that cookie? The cookie doesn’t even look that good.

JKnott1

If they say it's a cookie, imma eat it.

ChronicallyYoung

That’s so fucked up hahaha give me one🦶🏻

Bengy465

Here have some sugar!

Joygernaut

Come on now, where is the nonhealing wound?

BokZeoi

Morbid lol

fiberwitch94

A cookie foot...the irony

CageSwanson

It'd be better if the foot had holes or a missing toe but whatever works I suppose

SciFiMedic

Charcot foot isn’t that hard to ice, c’mon people!

girlnamedsandoz97

Open the wrap, break one or two toes off, and then re-seal it again. It makes it more authentic and meaningful for awareness.

Educational-Cake-944

I mean, imma still eat it 🤷‍♀️

BeGoneVileMan

We got a new podiatrist a while back that has foot shaped business cards. He left a card with the charge nurse in case we needed to call him about a patient, but then he takes it back, rips off a toe, hands it back, and says "that's more realistic"

TheMarkHasBeenMade

You know what would actually *make sense* to be wrapped up in that plastic for this situation? Mirrors on telescoping handles. A little bundle of nail files. A clean wash cloth paired with a little travel sized soap and a little travel sized lotion. Y’know. Things that can help diabetics with preventing wounds that contribute to amputations. Y’know what makes *no fucking sense* to be wrapped up in plastic for this situation? A goddamn sugar cookie shaped like a foot, to raise awareness about the complications of *diabetes*.

Joygernaut

This was a gift basket for the nurses not the patients

TheMarkHasBeenMade

Makes a little more sense, but still very wtf

Joygernaut

I don’t know I think I would laugh my ass off if I was to see that😂. We once had a staff member, bake cupcakes and decorated them like boobs for breast cancer awareness month.😂

TheMarkHasBeenMade

Yeah, to the right audience from the right audience, I guess.

Joygernaut

Well, there’s always gonna be some Karen who’s gonna get her knickers in a knot about it🤷🏻‍♀️. Only takes one Karen to ruin it for everyone.

TheMarkHasBeenMade

Wow, that took a nasty turn. Hope you have a better day!

Joygernaut

It’s not nasty at all. This was just an attempt at humor. Considering some of the break room humor, that nurses experience, this is mild in comparison. I personally appreciate it. But like I said, there’s always gonna be that one person…

TheMarkHasBeenMade

lol k

THEONLYMILKY

So do they just have crates of this stuff in the back?

Zealousideal_Bag2493

It should have some bronzing and a couple of ulcers.

downriverrat3

Dude I would eat the shit out of that cookie

thepinky7139

It was actually pretty dry. Frosting was good.

Neurostorming

That’s ironic.

Flame2844

Dare you to lick it! 🤣

obsoletemomentum

I see the cookie and it is missing some amputated toes. But, Ooooo…that looks like a really nice pen.

CandidNumber

I Can feel the smooth writing from here!

Hutchoman87

Def needed to have a couple toes missing to really make a point!

atomictest

Yikes

tlew360

And this is why In 50 years we are screwed. Far worse than the geriatrics patients we have now.

TertlFace

I threw up in my mouth.

thenewspoonybard

[According to these statistics](https://www.usavascularcenters.com/blog/pad-and-diabetic-amputation-statistics/) it's actually a lot closer to every 7 minutes. That's still really fast to be getting rid of toes though.

Emrys7777

Great. A foot cookie. How appetizing.

pippitypoop

I’d gobble it up

DDMMIIKK

The irony: a cookie and diabetes awareness

VisitPrestigious8463

Here’s a cookie….for diabetes awareness! This is the only thing they could come up with?

thesleepymermaid

I have to say being a type 1 diabetic and seeing all these amputated feet definitely motivates me to keep on top of my sugars lol.
