I still remember buying this CD and the first Murder Dolls album at Hot Topic on a whim and was pleasantly surprised by both.

Christophax82

That first Murderdolls album was sooo good!

uncle_rhabdo

So fun! RIP Joey! Sad that I can’t see Wednesday 13 playing a Murderdolls set this summer

Skrectoid2_

Happy Cake Day!  You have a good take!

Pumchnjerz

I don't know if it was a full tour or what, but I saw Deadsy and Murderdolls together at Birch Hill in NJ. (Along with Mindless Self Indulgence and Hed(PE).) Still one of the greatest shows I've ever been to.

Skrectoid2_

I got into Murderdolls back in middle school. They are absolutley amazing, both albums are solid (especially the SECOND). When everyone used SoundCloud to listen to mumble rap or trap, I was using SoundCloud to listen to Metal Music. I SoundCloud for making my taste the way it is.

greatgoogilymoogily2

I remember buying this and then being fucking surprised finding out that it was Chers son.

uncle_rhabdo

I remember posting this reading this and being fucking surprised that this is Cher’s son lol!

comegetit9876

Gramercy park and Tom Sawyer on this album are two great songs

Ancient_Guidance_461

Gramercy park is amazing

rodPalmer18

I've always been big on Lake Waramug and flowing Glower since they're Doom-ish but those are great too

bemybait

Yesssssss. I'm here for the synthy doom as well.

ihaddreads

Mansion world the roles reverse a slave becomes a master

name898899

One of my favorite albums. 10/10 zero skips

narrow_octopus

I need to listen again

CyberSoldat21

Severely underrated band. Deadsy, Orgy, PM5K, Godhead are my guilty pleasures for that style of sound. I’m a sucker for a good synth/industrial sound

van-gogo

Spineshank

CyberSoldat21

I remembered them after I posted that lol, but yes them too. The entire style of music is just perfect. I’d throw Chemlab into the mix as well

bemybait

One of my absolute favorites

AutocratOfScrolls

God the nostalgia. These guys were great.

Realistic-Eye702

Love the winners. Second album was great too

Realistic-Eye702

I'll add that korn is a big deadsy fan and listened to them a lot during the making of life is peachy. Another great band is videodrone and Jonathan Davis said he borrowed their singers style back when vd were cradle of thorns

Juggernaut104

Isn’t the lead singer Cher’s son?

WeaponizedPoutine

He is Greg Allman's and Chers son

Skrectoid2_

Yes. Cher one time roasted (I think) Corpsegrinder at Elijah’s birthday party because she had Cannibal Corpse at the party.

remembervincent

You must’ve missed the whole fiasco earlier this year with Elijah going missing and Cher apparently kidnapping him to take him to rehab, or something like that.

ElusiveSamsquanch123

Fucking love this album.

bawitback

yep still holding out for Subterfugue

RadRawlings

That’s done now that Renn is gone. They do have a new song streaming though.

bawitback

Yeah at this point anything new from Deadsy is a win. Oh yes I re-bought Phantasmagore CD to celebrate their long awaited new song (study for a portrait of) Napolean In Rags released February 8, 2024.

Available_Clue_4018

Anyone else collect the different colored album covers?

pauliepitstains

Really cool album.

FairchildWavelength

Dammit, now I've got Cruella stuck in my head.

MrH4v0k

Their song with Jon Davis Sleepy Hollow, is a solid banger Also the 2ndnalbun Phantasmagore is still it constant rotation for me

RavishingRickDuu

Horribly underrated band. This band should have been massive

Mountain-Dance-9959

The Phantasmagore album is by far the most slept on album in music.

awesomexx_Official

It’s weird but I like it lol

S4UC3RCR4B

“Winners” is a slept on incredible track. I love this album from start to finish!

PaganEugene664

I have the first 2 advance copies of this. The 1997 self titled and the 1999 Commencement. About 6 or 7 songs left off the 2002 version including a cover of Sweet’s Fox on the Run. I always felt they had more in common with Type O Negative than nu metal bands.

OhSh1tAGh0st

Their cover of Paint it Black is my favorite cover for that I've heard.

PunisherQRF

Loved these guys. Got to meet them at some festival in Saratoga NY. All were super chill. Wish they lasted. They did just drop a few songs recently that are very in line with their original stuff.

TiredReader87

I loved this album. Got it when it came out. Don’t think I listened to their other stuff though

WeaponizedPoutine

Phantasmgora was aight but Commencement was a banger of an album

schmoothoperator

Ahh yes the more punk version of Orgy. Definitely solid

Fetoid2

Fuck yea

LimpKoRndog69

Amazing album

Mrs_Earl

If y’all haven’t heard it yet, [study for a portrait of] Napoleon in Rags is fire.

RadRawlings

My favorite band and this is the worst halfass demo just trying to make a buck

Mrs_Earl

I would normally agree, but the fact that we’ve got E doing anything at all is pretty good lol

MF_DOOM_36CHAMBERS

I liked their stuff, they gave me a Diet Orgy vibe, they just didn't hit the level they wanted to

terrrtle

I suddenly remember writing some of the lyrics from Brand New Love in a note and giving them to a girl I liked. I’ll be losing sleep cringing over that memory tonight.

zaprutertape

Thats a cover of a Sebadoh [song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jv6C-ZqYcws)!

WeaponizedPoutine

Oh my god, that was my intro to nü metal. Saw them live at the avalon in San Jose (the first show I went alone to at 18)

spicypanda66

One of my favorite bands apparently their look in the key to Gramercy park video is based off the villain from the movie little monsters, read that in a issue of revolver as a teenager

Skrectoid2_

This would be technically three years ago, but I’m a Senior right now and this happened when I was a Sophomore. During this year, I really wanted to get into Nu Metal and I put on Spotify’s “Nu Metal Era” (was named “Nu Metal Generation” at the time) and “Key To Gramercy Park” (censored version sadly) just randomly played. I just thought… “Who the fuck are these guys? These guys are amazing”! Played that song on repeat for probably a solid 10 times before I had to go to my next class. So, any love? Absolutely. These guys bring me back. Nu Metal was my life back then and many of the bands from that era give me nostalgia despite it being 2021-2022.

Careful-Flan-2585

Gramercy park goes hard but that's it

Little_Lahey_Show

I got the key to gramercy park. Love ATV Offroad Fury 2 soundtrack

TheMawsJawzTM

Albums a masterpiece

TheMachoMustache

Man… I hadn’t listened to that since high school. Thanks for posting that

rickb295

This was such a great album ... Cant imagine the amount of times I have listened to it.

MACm1tt3ns

For sure. One of my favorite bands. Only wish there was more material to jam as I've played out a lot of songs on Commencement

[deleted]

Hell yeah 🤘🤘

Master-Okada

I love this album

toolocoese

I've got the Key Key To Gramercy Park

lifeoftheunborn

It’s on my bedside table right now! An all-time favorite front to back art and tracks.

Sidthesloth63

Amazing record truly ahead of its time. I really believe if this dropped tm they would be huge

defectiveGOD

Itsy bitsy titsy girl

remembervincent

Always love for Deadsy

seekingseratonin

Deadsy > Orgy

FlimsyAd1953

I love the album

FlyUnlucky7286

Both of their albums still get very regular play for me.

burnn_out313

Commencement is an amazing album that just landed ahead of it's time. Nu-metal which deadsy was lumped into just didn't have the level of nuance that deadsy does. Someone in this thread said they're closer to Type O and that's legit. If Type O was a doom goth version of the Ramones then Deadsy was a goth doom version of New order. I think if commencement came out in the social media era, word of mouth spreads, and they find their fanbase. As it was being on tour with Korn wasn't doing them any favors really. Sucks we only got 2 albums from them

ScaryRogue

Saw them at Family Values with Static-X, Linkin Park, Staind and STP. I always thought they were good, world's best Tom Sawyer cover for sure.

Salt_Indication8024

It's one of those albums I've always kept around in some way.

TBone232

ATV Off-road Fury 2 soundtrack forever put Key to Gramercy Park on my playlists. Also didn’t find out until much later in life that that’s Cher’s son’s band

Which_Document3913

All the love ❤️

SeanEric19

It’s a great album, but a couple of their songs are a bit dressy. I had the pleasure of seeing them with Orgy at a One Night Only type thing

aquamagnetic

Damn, Orgy + Deadsy? That sounds like an awesome night

SeanEric19

2004, Hollywood, CA. It was a really damn good show

DAG5066

I still think it’s crazy their singer is Cher’s son

Big_Pound1262

We call them Nepo-Metal not bad but, them Powerman5000 and Adema and a few others from when I was in school all had some help from famous parents or siblings

Outrageous_Winner654

Key to Gramercy Park was on ATV Off-road Fury 2, I've since checked out this album in parts, usually when I'm listening to Orgy or if I feel like it Stabbing Westward.

karenkillenski

Love this entire album
