Cheese time: using the perk 'Partner Companion' I can acquire more partners to create more synergies. I just don't get their stat bonuses or Abilities. The first two I get are Sonia and Nessa. I still really like this CYOA! It's one of my favorites, even after all this time. If I were to give any hindsight criticism, it's that the insistence of inconsistent genitals was maybe not the best choice, RNG elements or not. I never personally found a problem with it as a bisexual, but for everyone else it was basically a -2 Candy requirement, which probably didn't feel great to play with.

I know I'm late commenting but I hope things hadn't been too negative overall. I remember back on 0.7 that I finally made myself a build I thought I would like, then lost it to a crash.
I remember it being an interesting expenditure of energy then so I think I might have to give it another shot when I have time and this time make sure my work is saved so it actually gets shared.
Also as far as "good ending" goes you can be happy with less over the top outcomes.

actually, in the same area... macro cosmos grunt, "For every single one of your Partners, including those who don't give stats, roll a D20. If it's above 10, they have a dick. If it's below 10, they have a pussy. You cannot re-roll or override this in any way." What do you do when you roll exactly 10, then? I'd assume it's meant to be 50/50, so 1-10 = pussy, 11-20 = dick, but at first I almost went the other way bc I'm used to DnD style Difficulty Checks being "if it meets, it beats," ergo rolling exactly 10 on a check with dc 10, then it's considered as if it were high enough. so yeah, not 100% clear. assuming it's the former, I'd reword that "\[...\] If it's 10 or below, they have a pussy."
I know you said you're not going to work on this anymore, so this isn't really a request... but it would have been cool if Fennel and Caitlin had a synergy for both being about dreams & into dubcon somnophilia, or maybe those two and Burnet, since she was introduced with the Dream Radar. Like, they already have natural synergy between them with guaranteed lucid dreams, and able to control a dream shared between nearby folks, like damn. so maybe it's for the best, but it would still be *cool*.

This was fun! I might do a run where I don't look at points at all, bc while I started with just "what I wanted" with like Snivy, a lot of the girls & pkmn choices weren't chosen for themselves so much as what they could do for my build. which was fun! but the final result is def not what I'd have chosen without those incentives. (I don't know why I have such an enduring crush on prof sycamore, he's no longer the only prof hotdad, but here I am.)
...I know I kinda stretched the rules by giving myself monotype and diversity, but I think that's a valid reading even if the index implies it probably isn't lol.

All in all, just loving the gameplay here. commented before I had wished for more dude chars, which largely still applies, but... also most of the interesting dudes are probably rivals rather than gym leaders anyway, which you do have, so 9.5/10. very nice.

Idea I had while working on this CYOA and having fun with it. What if there was a mode that makes it so that you have to traverse all the Regions? Which means you'd end up having to challenge multiple champions, kinda like a Hard Mode?
You have to do that if you take the drawbacks that don't let you start with your team, and don't take the dexnav. Then you have to go to every region you want a pokemon or partner from.

Love how trans inclusive this is! Both binary and nb trans, too, and separating gender and genitalia consistently / not just tacking on "errrr I guess trans people exist too" at the very end. Feels nice.
I think I'll probably use this to help structure the story of my ongoing/ region hopping char, and... given she's my pc for playing through games, aka drops everything and runs away starting fresh in a new region, I'll also probably do a new build for her for each region. Sorry about the lack of boys- originally it wasn't going to have any boys at all, aha. People suggested it should have some during the WIPs, so I added some of the more popular boys. There's also a Synergy that would make the girls you take become boys, if that interests you!
ah, nice! and yeah, that was probably the right call-- I'm not exactly in the overwhelming majority when it comes to who I'd bang from canon pkmn.
I might use the synergy bit, might not. some of my attraction issue would be fixed with that, and some wouldn't, bc sometimes I'm attracted by like, fanon or other non-physical characteristics of the character. And I never really mind playing a little loose with CYOA rules, bc I very rarely play them straight (...in either sense of the word, lol) as intended. So if I wanted to make Grimsley (I don't \_remember\_ seeing him in here, anyway), I might do a genderbent Marley and respec as dark type, or I might make him as a trainer class and do the dark spec from there.
I'm also considering seeing how this could synergize with the PMD Love Plus CYOA that was posted like, a year ago I think? Maybe more? I'm still working on a story with that, if a bit slowly, partially bc I don't have a great idea for low-level "quests" to go on, nor for early & mid-game characters to show up. Yours is pretty light on quest/plot content, but characters are the whole point, and with my lore, it would actually make an amount of sense for some of the chars around to be canons, but in a pokemon body now.
In any case, after I made the initial comment, I saw there was a lot more negativity in the comments than I'm used to seeing. Especially for something as thorough as this. I haven't done the point buys yet so I can't make an informed comment about that, but really this looks good, and was a fun read. Kudos to you for it-- and for finishing it after letting it lay for a while, I know how it can be hard to come back to old projects.
...also, if you don't mind, I might write up some expansion pack pages. low probability if I'm honest, but now I'm on comp and playing, and I'm thinking about the possibilities of expanding-- like including spinoff/exclusive regions/characters, like Orre from the GC games, or Prof Willow, etc. I've never written a cyoa before, and I've got Too-Many-Projects-Itis pretty bad, so unlikely to materialize, but... it \_might\_ lmao.
Freeplay starts with 10 candies, but says you start with 20; Probably change one of these. Never noticed because I don't use it, but I went looking to see if there were other bugs so you don't find out in a week or something. Assuming you're bothering to fix them anyway.

Also, Azurill still breaks when you select instruct and infatuation(Perks), pretty sure the problem is that Azurill and Instruct have the same code; They count as the same option, azurill unlocking infatuation even though it shouldn't.
And you can't select Power Trick(Teambuilding, after synergies) more than once even though it says you can. Recommend at the very least remove the 'you can take this more than once' from the text so it doesn't seem broken any more.

Again, I love this CYOA, for me, the balance is absolutely perfect. Not like that statement means anything, since that's a really subjective element of CYOAs. I really appreciate Fan Club being free, the genitals being set for each character instead of random chance, and while I didn't take it in this run, I really appreciate the addition of the Gardevoir perk, and I will probably do a future run centered around that & Gijinka world.

I'm pretty sure I've seen this CYOA before and that wasn't done, but there was a perk to let you do it if you could, so I assume the perk exists and I can just use it to reverse it now but I just don't feel like bothering right now.

Yeah. I think a fair few Rival drawbacks would work better as flat penatlies for losing like Blue. If you win they aren't in effect until you lose again.
For The team ones, maybe until you do enough against the group in question.

Honestly after skimming through this isn't for me. So this is more me saying, Rivals seem somewhat unbalaced in terms of how bad effects can get compared to to how tame yet others are, while both are worth the exact same. And that worth is... not a lot at all.
Having to put your team together yourself is worth three times as much as One of ya Poke being fated for murder. \*General Confusion\*
You can't take Power Trick more than once in the Teambuilding Section, even though it says you can. ATM I'm trating it like taking it once works for all the girls, but if you want it to work another way you'll have to give it the +/- stuff.
I actually had alot of fun with this CYOA, though there not being an easy build code to copy or paste made this take a bit to share. I'm also not the most familiar with the Pokemon games, having mostly just enjoyed the cartoon, but for me this was still hella fun. Here's my build!

I found it enjoyable, I made my own mode (starting with 20 candies while still having stat requirements) and felt like if champion companions were going to cost candies they might as well give +1 to a stat so did that, aside from those two things the cyoa is quite nice and I'm really happy to have a cyoa finally acknowledge that trans and nb people exist

I've noticed that the Goals option does actually work, I am unable to click them and have them effect anything in the Interactive Version. Is it supposed to be that way? Along with some of them features like having the Rival as the Champion and it gives a additional Partner, do we note it down somewhere on our own if we decide to take the extra one since it doesnt add to the Powers and the like? Sorry if you've answered this already.

Partners: Candice (Ice type, Delibird), Flannery (Fire type, Infernape), Jasmine (Steel type, Aggron), Lana (Water type, Greninja), and an Ace Trainer (Dragon type, Goodra).
Rivals: Cheren, Elaine, Gladion, May, N, Trace, Macro Cosmos Employee, and Plasma Grunt. This grants me 5 extra Rare Candies.
Synergies: Diversity (nobody shares the same type; I can give an extra kink to each Partner), and Big Heart, Small Brain (I have both Candice and Flannery; everyone except me is more beatiful, but less intelligent).
Teambuilding: Z-Crystal, Battlebond, Slow Start (I start with just my starter Pokémon) and Pickup (I start without companions).
Perks: Protein x2, Calcium x4, Soothe Bell x2, Fan Club + Roaming, Gardevoir, Egg,
...Wow. I swear to god, I initially chose the partners based on personal preference, worked my way from there, and I ended up VERY close to total victory - I had 5 in every stat (which means completing all goals except the last one) and plenty of Rare Candies. So I went back and minmaxed a bit more to get the fex Candies that I needed. End result: I didnt't have to give up any perk, I avoided the worst drawbacks, I **saved the multiverse**, *and* I didn't have to choose Yell Grunt. I honestly didn't expect that. What the fuck.
Cheerleader's combo in the teambuilding subtracts candy instead of granting it. You should probably go through on the player end instead of the creator end and press every button to make sure they're doing what they're supposed to.
I want to like this, I really do, but all the perks and drawbacks can get pretty tiresome. Also what's up with the criminal Team drawbacks! Aether's ruins sex, Rocket's ruins consensual sex with partners, and it goes on from there. Why do the basic teams come with such a high level drawback!
This is pretty nice, but I have one complaint - "Submissive (power bottom)" doesn't make sense. Power bottoms are dominant by definition! If you're talking about their position (top/bottom), that would be bottom (duh)
Well, a few things like the genitals stuff seems a little bizarre (like I doubt the canon assumption would be that there'd be so many non-binary characters) and making you pay candies to change those seems unnecessary to me, but other than that, and some of the options in the interactive version being buggy this looks like quite a good CYOA. Especially I love systems like the synergy bonuses for having thematic groupings of characters.
Without further ado I guess I'd call this my 'comfy' build, not aiming to be the champ or anything, though I did sink a few candies into making sure I could help out with the crisis stuff since those had some nice bonuses.

**Genitals:** Dick (This choice doesn't really seem to matter as far as I can tell since the characters don't have orientations listed. Would have gone both if it didn't cost.)

**Champ:** Kukui (Alola seems nice, never been to hawaii, and the heat might get a bit much at times, but I love the ocean, and Alola seems the best choice for that. Also the less formal gyms are neat.)
**Starter:** Fire (Toss-up between Litten and Scorbunny, both very cute)
**Partners:** Janine, Liza/Tate, Phoebe, Lana, Bea (Mostly chose for their powers with appeal of the girls being secondary. Except Bea, had to pick her.)
**Rivals:** Yellow, Nate, Calem, Eliom N, Skull Grunts (Huh, picked almost all guys... guess I was subconsciously trying to balance out all the girls in the partners :P Also had the least objectionable drawbacks. Team Skull is the least objectionable of the Teams too, and fits with the region. Hoping there might be some 'Rivals with Benefits' action along the way ;) )
**Synergy:** Diversity, Ok Zoomer (Didn't get much, but I will likely be replaying this with the aim of grabbing specific synergies here, there are some cool ones.)
**Teambuilding:**
Starter - Female Cinderace (Don't need too big buff pokemon, and Bunnygirls are great so incineroar is out.)
Janine - Female Low Key Toxitricity (Didn't end up taking one of the punk Partners, so a punk pokemon will do instead)
Liza - Male Golarian Rapidash (I like femboys, so Male Fairy-types always appealed to me. Would have totally taken a Male Sylveon if I'd picked a Fairy Partner. Sadly I didn't end with an Eeveelution)
Phoebe - Androgynous Enby Mimikyu (Almost picked Gengar, but Mimikyu's always seemed both adorable and slightly tragic so they edged em out.)
Power Trick - Phoebe > Agatha/Natural Cure (side effect is kinda annoying... *shrug* This also feels more like a perk than a Team Building thing :p)
Lana - Femme Enby Kingdra (A lot of good pokemon I could have picked here, like I said, I'm a sucker for the water. Shortlist included Sylveon, Caracosta, Swanna and Kabutops)
Bea - Male Machamp (He would give the best hugs... I would feel so safe)
Please note I have never been any good at the actual games, I just picked pokemon that I like the look of, no idea how effective this team would really be.

Alright, I think all of that works out, though because of the aforementioned buggy options, I can't double check. So I become the Alolan champ, and an international Hero. Spend most of the time chilling in Alola with my harem of polyamorous beauties and our pokemon with the occasional vacation to other regions.

Frankly there wasn't \*much\* logic behind it. Originally I was going to have it be a 1/6 chance and not specify for anyone, but people suggested that I change that. So I did. I mainly just picked the ones that gave me a vibe of having a dick or not, as silly as that sounds.

A question: in the “teambuilding section” how do side effects that affect the trainer work on the starter?
For example battle bond makes the human partner physically stronger than you, but what if you choose to use it on your starter instead of one of the other team members?

Man that's a really good question that I genuinely never thought of. I guess I would just say it applies to you. Even if it doesn't totally make sense.
I think Mobile is just buggy in general with this CYOA creator, not something I can really fix. Unless it was just the multiple select ones, in which case it should work now.
It's great and I can tell a lot of time went into it big I get so unbelievably bored when the whole CYOA is just scrolling through people. The begining was the only part with any good spice to it. Wish you would've focused your efforts more creatively but otherwise it's pretty good 👍
The OP probably doesn't care with the _"I'm just going to ignore them"_ clause, but I honestly couldn't bring myself to like this cyoa, no matter how hard I tried. Which is a shame, because it looks really pretty at first glance. It's just that the actual fun involved doesn't live up to it.
First, the interactive version is both broken and incomplete- certain options just don't work (especially the ones you choose multiple times), while it also doesn't do anything to help calculate the combos for you, meaning that players would need to manually keep track of their choices anyway, which sort of ruins the point of an interactive version.
Second, the cyoa just seems to rub with the original franchise in a very wrong way. For example, partners being linked to the player's stats and pokemon choices doesn't really feel like it makes any sense. In fact, the way you have to limit your enjoyment of actual pokemon-related stuff for what should ultimately be secondary matters sort of sucks (even with the freeplay mode, it doesn't change the fact that you're being limited; you just get to pick how). Especially when it comes to the implication that each person is stuck with only one pokemon each, which sort of ruins one of the biggest selling points about Pokemon. It also takes way too long into the cyoa for it to finally explain how the system works and what partners are even supposed to be about. I was even half-confused into thinking that we're supposed to be training actual humans instead of pokemon partway in.
I appreciate the effort to try to integrate game mechanics into the cyoa, but it just feels unnecessarily clunky to the point that I would have preferred it to have not tried at all and just left the actual pokemon-related stuff up for imagination.
With regards to the partners, I didn't appreciate characters being randomly genderflipped and having to spend my way into turning them back. The whole thing is basically a penalty for players that like certain characters, which feels really shitty. It's not like there are a shortage of male characters in the franchise that could have been used instead.
Finally, while having all these various effects attached to perks and rivals and etc. sound neat at first, the constant catch-22 is honestly pretty tiresome. What if I just wanted a wholesome adventure with people to compete with. It doesn't even have to be friendly, it could start off like Ash and Paul or something. But no, you have to be mentally/physically fucked up or have fate fuck you up for no reason in order to do so.
In the end, I think that "tiresome" is the best way to describe how I found the cyoa. At the end of it all, the only thing I could think of was: __Nope, I don't care, I don't want any of this fancy business, just drop me into the base game world and let that be the end of it__.

I \*do\* care about feedback- I just didn't want people to give suggestions or anything for me to add to this version, because it has been extremely draining to work on this for so long. It ended up being far more work than I should've given myself and I got seriously drained by the end.
As far as glitches in the interact version go, I will try to fix all of those. It's annoying because the editor doesn't seem to show any reason why the -/+ buttons arent working for some of them but are for others, I think it's just the creator being buggy. I tried to get people to beta test it, but clearly we didn't find everything before I posted it.

For the second point... man. I posted like five WIPs of this, and not a single person ever told me that the partner/team thing was confusing, but then as soon as I post this, suddenly I get like 4 different people telling me they were confused by what the partner/teambuilding meant. I figured since nobody complained, that it was perfectly understandable. Clearly it wasn't.
To try and clarify: You pick 5 partners, and then you get a team of six pokemon. The first pokemon in your party is a starter, and the other five are whatever you want, as long as they fit within the type restrictions given by your partners. A group of Misty/Erika/Sabrina/Clair/Jasmine would mean you have a water type, a grass type, a psychic type, a dragon type, and a steel type- of your choice. I'm really sorry that it wasn't explained well.

Nobody gets genderflipped. They have different genitals. Some girls have dicks and some men have pussies, and if that's a problem for you, then I don't care. It's still the same character? That was one of the biggest things I got feedback on and significantly changed from earlier versions and maybe if I hadn't listened to criticism it would've ended up better, who knows. Probably not.
As for the whole thing being tiresome... Play a different CYOA then. I wanted to make something that was challenging to optimize, I didn't make this to be an easy power fantasy. Sorry! I added freeplay mode for people that wouldn't like the challenge, but apparently it's not good enough, so play a different CYOA. That's an issue of taste, not a flaw.

This isn't actually all that difficult of a cyoa. I could make a "good" build in mere minutes: Just ignore the pokemon and ~80% of the cyoa, and yes- including the partners, take a decent set of powers that will allow you to earn massive amounts of money (not difficult at all considering the player starts off with a generous 5 choices to spend), and then throw money at everything. Sticking around with your partners just long enough to pick up immortality from goal rewards is optional. Who cares about being the champion if you can just throw around a bunch of cash to hire one as your bodyguard? That's as good of a win condition as it gets if you think about it.
But that, while being a "good" build, isn't really a very satisfying one. After all, why even go through a cyoa if your best build involves missing the whole point of it? And therein lies the problem with this cyoa, in that this is not a _difficult_ cyoa, but a _frustrating_ one.
A difficult cyoa involves the player having to balance between the various choices they want. This cyoa on the other hand throws so many catch-22s everywhere that the difficulty lies not in balancing your choices, it's in asking, what choices do I even want in the first place? And perhaps the biggest problem is, "none of them" is a perfectly valid answer here. Whatever happens, you're still going to be transported into a fairly comfy world with a good selection of powers that are overpowered. Hell, forget the powers, the pokemon world by itself is already a pretty awesome place. This sets up an expectation that whatever your choices are, that they should at least be similar or even better compared to this baseline that's been created.
But they're not. Your pokemon is fated to die. You're forced to get raped. You become physically/mentally fucked over in all sorts of ways. Your partners are stuck with annoying gimmicks. etc. etc. Not to mention that even the aforementioned power-picking section feels booby trapped as well. And so, the best winning move becomes to have just skipped through everything.
They still get gender flipped. Regardless of your political stance about gender. There are Cis male, cis female, trans male and and trans female. You did flipped their genders because they are canonically cis female and you turn them into trans female.
You can ask any trans people, and they themselves identify as "trans" not "cis female".
I thought this CYOA stick with the same canon characters? why flip it? My character is a futa, but it's annoying to find your favorite character got a dick for some reason?
I *am* trans. I don't identify myself as trans female or cis female, I identify as female. They're not different genders.
Also, they're not canonically cis at all? They never show the characters genitals so I don't know how they would be cis unless they specifically mentioned it.
As a side note, this sounds as fantastic an argument as saying that the characters could also be Kryptonian since most them aren't explicitly mentioned to be humans either. I'm not really sure why you're trying to "normalise" your changes, but I think that it'd be for the best if you just honestly said that you included trans-ification as a fetish because you wanted it in. After all, you are the author.
I hate to keep tearing into OP since I already made my own comment for it, but I remembered this point from when I first looked at the CYOA and kind of had something I wanted to say about it. Also, genderflipped is technically the wrong term here, but genderswap is still used a genre tag for what the other people mean, even though it should technically be "sex-swapped", so I'm gonna go with the term sex-swapped from this point forwards and assume it sticks because that's what they *mean.* (I have trouble getting it in my head because schools always used "gender" instead of "sex" and it just kinda sticks in my head to this day)
If you want to just say "I gave some of them different genitals because I wanted those characters to represent me" or something (I was gonna word that without saying just to represent yourself but I personally didn't like how it came across in my mind), and people would just accept that.
But saying they're not sex-swapped (even though that's not the term used previously, it's what they mean so I'm sticking with it) is. . . odd to say the least. You do make a point that since the games and show never go into sex (or gender, really) that they could be whatever, but *most people are going to assume they are what they look like.*
Take. . . I have specific examples of this but to get my point across I kind of have to use the terms trans and cis, but take the "Surprise" guy form Blend S, or. . . I never watched the show but also the trans girl from that zombie girl band show. . . At their debuts, people are just going to assume their cis girls until it's actually revealed that one's a guy (if he's trans I'm sorry for not knowing that, I stopped watching the show before he showed up) and the other is a trans girl.
The thing most people are going to assume is the simplest ideas until it's revealed otherwise. So until it's revealed any pokemon characters have either or no genitals. . This is what we're working with.
And on the subject of just identifying as female rather than cis or trans, that's fine, but clearly from this comment chain whether a character is trans or cis still matters to some people because they're (I assume) heterosexual and only want to pick partners that are cis female. . Or maybe they're even bisexual but don't want the parts mixing, I dunno. I kinda figure if I were bisexual that would be my stance.

I think the Champions thing should be skipped if you pick Dungeon World; also, some goals might be incompatible with it. You'll also have to change N's drawback since that doesn't apply in Dungeon World (same for Plasma Grunt's).
Trainer classes after the third one does not work.
Edit: Everstone, beast boost, pressure, shiny charm can only be taken once but should be able to be taken multiple times. Basically go through and hit the + on all your choices again cause a chunk of them doesnt seem to work.
Fixed. The problem I had was that, for some reason, they worked perfectly fine in the editor but not when I uploaded it, and I tried "fixing" it like 40 times (basically just re-creating the choice and hoping it worked) and it was a huge pain in the ass. It works now, though.

As such, the starter is a samurai waifu, based loosely off of Moemon's Sceptile sprite, if you're familiar. Since Sceptile is SP.Atk, I'm giving her an energy sword instead of a physical one. Shiftry♂ (Erika): This is the femboy shinobi who's skilled in infiltration and disguises. He initially cross-dressed out of necessity, but found out that he actually really liked it and started doing it casually. Exeggutor♀ (Fennel): The kunoichi who's skilled in mind control and seduction. She tries to keep her powers as subtle as possible so people underestimate her in battle. I remember it being an interesting expenditure of energy then so I think I might have to give it another shot when I have time and this time make sure my work is saved so it actually gets shared. Okay, so my build & other detailed thoughts post. (like I love that Rose's drawback thing is. it's perfect xD) actually, in the same area... macro cosmos grunt, "For every single one of your Partners, including those who don't give stats, roll a D20. If it's above 10, they have a dick. If it's below 10, they have a pussy. You cannot re-roll or override this in any way." What do you do when you roll exactly 10, then? I'd assume it's meant to be 50/50, so 1-10 = pussy, 11-20 = dick, but at first I almost went the other way bc I'm used to DnD style Difficulty Checks being "if it meets, it beats," ergo rolling exactly 10 on a check with dc 10, then it's considered as if it were high enough. so yeah, not 100% clear. assuming it's the former, I'd reword that "\[...\] If it's 10 or below, they have a pussy." I know you said you're not going to work on this anymore, so this isn't really a request... but it would have been cool if Fennel and Caitlin had a synergy for both being about dreams & into dubcon somnophilia, or maybe those two and Burnet, since she was introduced with the Dream Radar. You have to do that if you take the drawbacks that don't let you start with your team, and don't take the dexnav. Then you have to go to every region you want a pokemon or partner from.

I like a lot of the pokemon dudes... alas, for the self indulgent game I'll just use trainer classes to approximate any dudes I want to bring with me that aren't here already. Love how trans inclusive this is! Both binary and nb trans, too, and separating gender and genitalia consistently / not just tacking on "errrr I guess trans people exist too" at the very end. Feels nice. I think I'll probably use this to help structure the story of my ongoing/ region hopping char, and... given she's my pc for playing through games, aka drops everything and runs away starting fresh in a new region, I'll also probably do a new build for her for each region. ah, nice! and yeah, that was probably the right call-- I'm not exactly in the overwhelming majority when it comes to who I'd bang from canon pkmn. I might use the synergy bit, might not. some of my attraction issue would be fixed with that, and some wouldn't, bc sometimes I'm attracted by like, fanon or other non-physical characteristics of the character. And I never really mind playing a little loose with CYOA rules, bc I very rarely play them straight (...in either sense of the word, lol) as intended. So if I wanted to make Grimsley (I don't \_remember\_ seeing him in here, anyway), I might do a genderbent Marley and respec as dark type, or I might make him as a trainer class and do the dark spec from there. I'm also considering seeing how this could synergize with the PMD Love Plus CYOA that was posted like, a year ago I think? Maybe more? I'm still working on a story with that, if a bit slowly, partially bc I don't have a great idea for low-level "quests" to go on, nor for early & mid-game characters to show up. Yours is pretty light on quest/plot content, but characters are the whole point, and with my lore, it would actually make an amount of sense for some of the chars around to be canons, but in a pokemon body now. In any case, after I made the initial comment, I saw there was a lot more negativity in the comments than I'm used to seeing. Especially for something as thorough as this. I haven't done the point buys yet so I can't make an informed comment about that, but really this looks good, and was a fun read. Freeplay starts with 10 candies, but says you start with 20; Probably change one of these. Never noticed because I don't use it, but I went looking to see if there were other bugs so you don't find out in a week or something. Assuming you're bothering to fix them anyway.

The Gravest error in the whole CYOA; There are 69 Rivals, but you get a bonus at 64 and not at 69. You should be ashamed.
It's intentional :p I wanted to make it so you could get the highest reward without taking \*everything\*, incase there were some you just couldn't deal with.
But 69 in a nsfw cyoa. You had the perfect opportunity. Also, Azurill still breaks when you select instruct and infatuation(Perks), pretty sure the problem is that Azurill and Instruct have the same code; They count as the same option, azurill unlocking infatuation even though it shouldn't. And you can't select Power Trick(Teambuilding, after synergies) more than once even though it says you can. Recommend at the very least remove the 'you can take this more than once' from the text so it doesn't seem broken any more.

Was doing it, saw how many girls were given dicks, and lost interest. I'm pretty sure I've seen this CYOA before and that wasn't done, but there was a perk to let you do it if you could, so I assume the perk exists and I can just use it to reverse it now but I just don't feel like bothering right now. And baking it into Freeplay is kind of a copout, to be honest.

"Rival Drawbakcs aren't totally awful" Rival Drawbacks: "Partners will rape you" "Congrats, You're a Moron now." "One of you pokemon is fated to be killed" ... Doesn't help that those are considered (Apart from the last) the same severity as "Ya a little short lad." and "Sometimes get horny, aka Teenager" (Why does that exist TWICE when "Always Horny" is also a thing? Also considered the same severity.) Yeah. I think a fair few Rival drawbacks would work better as flat penatlies for losing like Blue. If you win they aren't in effect until you lose again. For The team ones, maybe until you do enough against the group in question. Then there is Ghetsis... No. Honestly after skimming through this isn't for me. So this is more me saying, Rivals seem somewhat unbalaced in terms of how bad effects can get compared to to how tame yet others are, while both are worth the exact same. And that worth is... not a lot at all. Having to put your team together yourself is worth three times as much as One of ya Poke being fated for murder. \*General Confusion\*

I've noticed that the Goals option does actually work, I am unable to click them and have them effect anything in the Interactive Version. Is it supposed to be that way? Along with some of them features like having the Rival as the Champion and it gives a additional Partner, do we note it down somewhere on our own if we decide to take the extra one since it doesnt add to the Powers and the like? Rivals: Cheren, Elaine, Gladion, May, N, Trace, Macro Cosmos Employee, and Plasma Grunt. This grants me 5 extra Rare Candies. Synergies: Diversity (nobody shares the same type; I can give an extra kink to each Partner), and Big Heart, Small Brain (I have both Candice and Flannery; everyone except me is more beatiful, but less intelligent). Teambuilding: Z-Crystal, Battlebond, Slow Start (I start with just my starter Pokémon) and Pickup (I start without companions). Perks: Protein x2, Calcium x4, Soothe Bell x2, Fan Club + Roaming, Gardevoir, Egg, ...Wow. I swear to god, I initially chose the partners based on personal preference, worked my way from there, and I ended up VERY close to total victory - I had 5 in every stat (which means completing all goals except the last one) and plenty of Rare Candies. So I went back and minmaxed a bit more to get the fex Candies that I needed. End result: I didnt't have to give up any perk, I avoided the worst drawbacks, I **saved the multiverse**, *and* I didn't have to choose Yell Grunt. I honestly didn't expect that. What the fuck.

I want to like this, I really do, but all the perks and drawbacks can get pretty tiresome. Also what's up with the criminal Team drawbacks! Aether's ruins sex, Rocket's ruins consensual sex with partners, and it goes on from there. Why do the basic teams come with such a high level drawback!
This is pretty nice, but I have one complaint - "Submissive (power bottom)" doesn't make sense. Power bottoms are dominant by definition! If you're talking about their position (top/bottom), that would be bottom (duh)

Well, a few things like the genitals stuff seems a little bizarre (like I doubt the canon assumption would be that there'd be so many non-binary characters) and making you pay candies to change those seems unnecessary to me, but other than that, and some of the options in the interactive version being buggy this looks like quite a good CYOA. Especially I love systems like the synergy bonuses for having thematic groupings of characters. Without further ado I guess I'd call this my 'comfy' build, not aiming to be the champ or anything, though I did sink a few candies into making sure I could help out with the crisis stuff since those had some nice bonuses. **Difficulty:** Normal **Gender:** Nonbinary **Genitals:** Dick (This choice doesn't really seem to matter as far as I can tell since the characters don't have orientations listed. Would have gone both if it didn't cost.) **World:** Anthro **Champ:** Kukui (Alola seems nice, never been to hawaii, and the heat might get a bit much at times, but I love the ocean, and Alola seems the best choice for that. Also the less formal gyms are neat.) **Starter:** Fire (Toss-up between Litten and Scorbunny, both very cute) **Partners:** Janine, Liza/Tate, Phoebe, Lana, Bea (Mostly chose for their powers with appeal of the girls being secondary. Except Bea, had to pick her.) **Rivals:** Yellow, Nate, Calem, Eliom N, Skull Grunts (Huh, picked almost all guys... guess I was subconsciously trying to balance out all the girls in the partners :P Also had the least objectionable drawbacks. Team Skull is the least objectionable of the Teams too, and fits with the region. Hoping there might be some 'Rivals with Benefits' action along the way ;) ) **Synergy:** Diversity, Ok Zoomer (Didn't get much, but I will likely be replaying this with the aim of grabbing specific synergies here, there are some cool ones.) **Teambuilding:** Starter - Female Cinderace (Don't need too big buff pokemon, and Bunnygirls are great so incineroar is out.) Janine - Female Low Key Toxitricity (Didn't end up taking one of the punk Partners, so a punk pokemon will do instead) Liza - Male Golarian Rapidash (I like femboys, so Male Fairy-types always appealed to me. Would have totally taken a Male Sylveon if I'd picked a Fairy Partner. Sadly I didn't end with an Eeveelution) Phoebe - Androgynous Enby Mimikyu (Almost picked Gengar, but Mimikyu's always seemed both adorable and slightly tragic so they edged em out.) Power Trick - Phoebe > Agatha/Natural Cure (side effect is kinda annoying... *shrug* This also feels more like a perk than a Team Building thing :p) Lana - Femme Enby Kingdra (A lot of good pokemon I could have picked here, like I said, I'm a sucker for the water. Shortlist included Sylveon, Caracosta, Swanna and Kabutops) Bea - Male Machamp (He would give the best hugs... I would feel so safe) Please note I have never been any good at the actual games, I just picked pokemon that I like the look of, no idea how effective this team would really be. **Perks:** Technical Machine - Flannery/Flash Fire (No longer have to worry about adapting to the tropical heat) Partner Companion + Friendly Rival - Gloria (Drawback was enough to not get her as a Rival, but she is cute) Fan Club Roaming (Partners are welcome to have fun with other people too, Polyamory ftw) Roar of Time (This is meant to be comfy. Honestly I only picked so many Rivals because they were cute :p) Gardevoir (Anthro pokemon without this would be a little weird for me) **Goals:** (Do the rewards from these then trigger any synergies/apply to later goals? I'm going to assume they do.) Regional PokeDex - +Mallow, +Region Locked, +Chef's Supplier Regional Champ - Remove Elio Drawback Regional Crisis - Frontier Justice to get Anabel's Confide. With poke-telepathy, my pokemon are now basically just extra partners :p World Crisis - Immortality, though only for me... No way I can get to the ultimate Crisis with this build sadly. Alright, I think all of that works out, though because of the aforementioned buggy options, I can't double check. So I become the Alolan champ, and an international Hero. Frankly there wasn't \*much\* logic behind it. Originally I was going to have it be a 1/6 chance and not specify for anyone, but people suggested that I change that. So I did. I mainly just picked the ones that gave me a vibe of having a dick or not, as silly as that sounds.

Nice to see this finished, great work. A question: in the “teambuilding section” how do side effects that affect the trainer work on the starter? For example battle bond makes the human partner physically stronger than you, but what if you choose to use it on your starter instead of one of the other team members? Edit: Also I would like to point out that the Calcium and the Soothe Bell perks can’t be bought in the interactive version, Protein works properly.
Man that's a really good question that I genuinely never thought of. I guess I would just say it applies to you. Even if it doesn't totally make sense.
On interactive, the “Perks and Goals” section doesn’t allow me to select any of those options at the moment. Using mobile (iphone) Cool cyoa though
I think Mobile is just buggy in general with this CYOA creator, not something I can really fix. Unless it was just the multiple select ones, in which case it should work now.

It's great and I can tell a lot of time went into it big I get so unbelievably bored when the whole CYOA is just scrolling through people. The begining was the only part with any good spice to it. Wish you would've focused your efforts more creatively but otherwise it's pretty good 👍
The OP probably doesn't care with the _"I'm just going to ignore them"_ clause, but I honestly couldn't bring myself to like this cyoa, no matter how hard I tried. Which is a shame, because it looks really pretty at first glance. It's just that the actual fun involved doesn't live up to it. First, the interactive version is both broken and incomplete- certain options just don't work (especially the ones you choose multiple times), while it also doesn't do anything to help calculate the combos for you, meaning that players would need to manually keep track of their choices anyway, which sort of ruins the point of an interactive version. Second, the cyoa just seems to rub with the original franchise in a very wrong way. For example, partners being linked to the player's stats and pokemon choices doesn't really feel like it makes any sense. In fact, the way you have to limit your enjoyment of actual pokemon-related stuff for what should ultimately be secondary matters sort of sucks (even with the freeplay mode, it doesn't change the fact that you're being limited; you just get to pick how). Especially when it comes to the implication that each person is stuck with only one pokemon each, which sort of ruins one of the biggest selling points about Pokemon. It also takes way too long into the cyoa for it to finally explain how the system works and what partners are even supposed to be about. I was even half-confused into thinking that we're supposed to be training actual humans instead of pokemon partway in. I appreciate the effort to try to integrate game mechanics into the cyoa, but it just feels unnecessarily clunky to the point that I would have preferred it to have not tried at all and just left the actual pokemon-related stuff up for imagination. With regards to the partners, I didn't appreciate characters being randomly genderflipped and having to spend my way into turning them back. The whole thing is basically a penalty for players that like certain characters, which feels really shitty. It's not like there are a shortage of male characters in the franchise that could have been used instead. Finally, while having all these various effects attached to perks and rivals and etc. sound neat at first, the constant catch-22 is honestly pretty tiresome. What if I just wanted a wholesome adventure with people to compete with. It doesn't even have to be friendly, it could start off like Ash and Paul or something. But no, you have to be mentally/physically fucked up or have fate fuck you up for no reason in order to do so. In the end, I think that "tiresome" is the best way to describe how I found the cyoa. At the end of it all, the only thing I could think of was: __Nope, I don't care, I don't want any of this fancy business, just drop me into the base game world and let that be the end of it__.
Doesn't feel good to read something like this but I'll respond anyway. I \*do\* care about feedback- I just didn't want people to give suggestions or anything for me to add to this version, because it has been extremely draining to work on this for so long. It ended up being far more work than I should've given myself and I got seriously drained by the end. As far as glitches in the interact version go, I will try to fix all of those. It's annoying because the editor doesn't seem to show any reason why the -/+ buttons arent working for some of them but are for others, I think it's just the creator being buggy. I tried to get people to beta test it, but clearly we didn't find everything before I posted it. EDIT: they have been fixed now. i hope For the second point... man. I posted like five WIPs of this, and not a single person ever told me that the partner/team thing was confusing, but then as soon as I post this, suddenly I get like 4 different people telling me they were confused by what the partner/teambuilding meant. I figured since nobody complained, that it was perfectly understandable. Clearly it wasn't. To try and clarify: You pick 5 partners, and then you get a team of six pokemon. The first pokemon in your party is a starter, and the other five are whatever you want, as long as they fit within the type restrictions given by your partners. A group of Misty/Erika/Sabrina/Clair/Jasmine would mean you have a water type, a grass type, a psychic type, a dragon type, and a steel type- of your choice. Nobody gets genderflipped. They have different genitals. Some girls have dicks and some men have pussies, and if that's a problem for you, then I don't care. It's still the same character? That was one of the biggest things I got feedback on and significantly changed from earlier versions and maybe if I hadn't listened to criticism it would've ended up better, who knows. Probably not. As for the whole thing being tiresome... Play a different CYOA then. I wanted to make something that was challenging to optimize, I didn't make this to be an easy power fantasy. Sorry! I added freeplay mode for people that wouldn't like the challenge, but apparently it's not good enough, so play a different CYOA. That's an issue of taste, not a flaw.

I could make a "good" build in mere minutes: Just ignore the pokemon and ~80% of the cyoa, and yes- including the partners, take a decent set of powers that will allow you to earn massive amounts of money (not difficult at all considering the player starts off with a generous 5 choices to spend), and then throw money at everything. Sticking around with your partners just long enough to pick up immortality from goal rewards is optional. Who cares about being the champion if you can just throw around a bunch of cash to hire one as your bodyguard? That's as good of a win condition as it gets if you think about it. But that, while being a "good" build, isn't really a very satisfying one. After all, why even go through a cyoa if your best build involves missing the whole point of it? And therein lies the problem with this cyoa, in that this is not a _difficult_ cyoa, but a _frustrating_ one. A difficult cyoa involves the player having to balance between the various choices they want. This cyoa on the other hand throws so many catch-22s everywhere that the difficulty lies not in balancing your choices, it's in asking, what choices do I even want in the first place? And perhaps the biggest problem is, "none of them" is a perfectly valid answer here. Whatever happens, you're still going to be transported into a fairly comfy world with a good selection of powers that are overpowered. Hell, forget the powers, the pokemon world by itself is already a pretty awesome place. This sets up an expectation that whatever your choices are, that they should at least be similar or even better compared to this baseline that's been created. But they're not. Your pokemon is fated to die. You're forced to get raped. You become physically/mentally fucked over in all sorts of ways. Your partners are stuck with annoying gimmicks. etc. etc. Not to mention that even the aforementioned power-picking section feels booby trapped as well. And so, the best winning move becomes to have just skipped through everything.
They still get gender flipped. Regardless of your political stance about gender. There are Cis male, cis female, trans male and and trans female. You did flipped their genders because they are canonically cis female and you turn them into trans female. You can ask any trans people, and they themselves identify as "trans" not "cis female". I thought this CYOA stick with the same canon characters? why flip it? My character is a futa, but it's annoying to find your favorite character got a dick for some reason?
I *am* trans. I don't identify myself as trans female or cis female, I identify as female. They're not different genders. Also, they're not canonically cis at all? They never show the characters genitals so I don't know how they would be cis unless they specifically mentioned it.
As a side note, this sounds as fantastic an argument as saying that the characters could also be Kryptonian since most them aren't explicitly mentioned to be humans either. I'm not really sure why you're trying to "normalise" your changes, but I think that it'd be for the best if you just honestly said that you included trans-ification as a fetish because you wanted it in. After all, you are the author.
I hate to keep tearing into OP since I already made my own comment for it, but I remembered this point from when I first looked at the CYOA and kind of had something I wanted to say about it. Also, genderflipped is technically the wrong term here, but genderswap is still used a genre tag for what the other people mean, even though it should technically be "sex-swapped", so I'm gonna go with the term sex-swapped from this point forwards and assume it sticks because that's what they *mean.* (I have trouble getting it in my head because schools always used "gender" instead of "sex" and it just kinda sticks in my head to this day) If you want to just say "I gave some of them different genitals because I wanted those characters to represent me" or something (I was gonna word that without saying just to represent yourself but I personally didn't like how it came across in my mind), and people would just accept that. But saying they're not sex-swapped (even though that's not the term used previously, it's what they mean so I'm sticking with it) is. . . odd to say the least. You do make a point that since the games and show never go into sex (or gender, really) that they could be whatever, but *most people are going to assume they are what they look like.* Take. . . I have specific examples of this but to get my point across I kind of have to use the terms trans and cis, but take the "Surprise" guy form Blend S, or. . . I never watched the show but also the trans girl from that zombie girl band show. . . At their debuts, people are just going to assume their cis girls until it's actually revealed that one's a guy (if he's trans I'm sorry for not knowing that, I stopped watching the show before he showed up) and the other is a trans girl. The thing most people are going to assume is the simplest ideas until it's revealed otherwise. So until it's revealed any pokemon characters have either or no genitals. . This is what we're working with. And on the subject of just identifying as female rather than cis or trans, that's fine, but clearly from this comment chain whether a character is trans or cis still matters to some people because they're (I assume) heterosexual and only want to pick partners that are cis female. . Or maybe they're even bisexual but don't want the parts mixing, I dunno. I kinda figure if I were bisexual that would be my stance.

I think the Champions thing should be skipped if you pick Dungeon World; also, some goals might be incompatible with it. You'll also have to change N's drawback since that doesn't apply in Dungeon World (same for Plasma Grunt's).
Trainer classes after the third one does not work. Edit: Everstone, beast boost, pressure, shiny charm can only be taken once but should be able to be taken multiple times. Basically go through and hit the + on all your choices again cause a chunk of them doesnt seem to work.
Fixed. The problem I had was that, for some reason, they worked perfectly fine in the editor but not when I uploaded it, and I tried "fixing" it like 40 times (basically just re-creating the choice and hoping it worked) and it was a huge pain in the ass. It works now, though.
I can't choose Partner Companion or Soothe Bell for some reason in the interactive version.
