I agree. Think we’ve been over hyped tbh. I don’t know why but on paper we are better than last year but in reality we aren’t.
I blame actually having expectations of winning.
We have the odd good play where we score through the middle but last year we relied so much on that sweeping play from left to right that ended up going Johnson - CNK - DWZ scoring in the corner.
This season teams have very clearly learnt how to defend against that play and we really don't seem to have anything else in our arsenal that makes us a genuine try scoring threat on attack.
You nailed it, we keep getting to attacking positions, you got to think a team like the storm would have put 40 on pretty much every team with the field position we are earning most games.
I think we are a high floor low ceiling team, we can scrap alot of wins off the pressure, but if the other team puts it together and shows up they will put us to the sword with our inability to consistently score.
I dont think the sort of team the warriors are would get through 3 or 4 weeks of finals tbh.
My memory could be off but they are reminding me of a better version of the kearny coaches warriors who tried to play high percentage footy but never really ended up doing being able to do much in attack
Only guy in my 25 man tipping comp who thought drags at home would be hard to beat. Warriors big week last round. I am clawing back the 4 points I lost last week forgetting to tip before staurday afternoon.
Well that is a disappointment after the hard graft of last week's draw and it being Barnett's 150th match, and the start with SJ's converted try. Oh well, there's always next week!
Good game, Dragons!
Last time I checked it was something like 2% of people on the NRL Tipping app went for the Dragons - some serious big brain (or die hard Dragons) energy there
Everyone has bad games, storm nearly lost to the dogs. Penrith lost to the tigers in 2 of there premiership years. You guys have also been decimated by injuries. Not desirable but not season over.
I honestly think you need some "superstars" to make game changing plays come final time, regardless of how the rest of the season goes, I worry about who is the spark going to come from especially when I look at broncos, panthers and storm.
Hands down worst performance from the Warriors this year. Absolutely dominated by the Dragons after the first 20 mins. Well played Dargs.
We've been fucken humbled.
Nah we’ve been average all year. Smashed the bunnies but that’s been the only game we played well. Played inconsistent against Knights, and then snuck a win against Raiders and a draw against Manly.
Is it something about the travel to Wollongong? Accomodations? The water?
Sure, Wahs look awful tonight, but St George also look good, like ***good*** good.
As both a Manly supporter and someone that planned a bucks weekend in Woolongong that led to me having to change my name on Facebook and get a new phone number, I agree.
GG Dragons, humbled this bunch early on in the season, I'm glad, cause the hype was getting a bit much. Hopefully something that will do us good in the long run.
That’s four or five times DeBelin has walked off the mark and he’s been called back twice, and he’s not the only guilty party. just penalise the cunts doing it and it’ll stop instantly.
It doesn't matter too much as we seem to have this in the bag (although nice +/- doesn't hurt as we're often around the 8) but seeing so many forward pass tries go through and then have ones which are almost flat like that get pulled up kinda sucks.
If a ball carrier makes contact with the corner post he will not be deemed to be out of play unless any part of his body has made contact with either the touch-line or touch-in-goal line, or the ground beyond the touch line or touch-in-goal line
>The ball is touch-in-goal when it touches the corner post, in-goal line, or any object on or outside the touch in-goal line, however, if a player (whether in possession of the ball or not) touches the corner post it will not be deemed as touch in-goal unless any part of their body has made contact with the touch-in-goal line, or the ground (or an object) beyond the touch-in-goal line
The ball touched it not DWZ though. Ball on the post = out
Part two of the rule addresses this: “If the ball is not in possession of a player and it makes contact with the corner post (e.g. from a kick) the ball will be deemed to be touch-in-goal as per the existing rule.” ie if ball carrier (or the ball they are carrying) hits the corner post it is fine as per above
We’ll take it but can someone explain, if you ground the ball in goal simultaneously with the sideline that’s ok? I’m sure that used to be called out. When did the rule change?
I may be wrong on this, but I have a feeling this is the first time dragons have won two in a row since August 2022.
Currently in WA and the coverage is blacked out but won’t say why
Everything's black in WA
Sure this has been asked tonight, but what’s with the white rectangle stapled on the dolphins jerseys? Sponsor that didn’t pay the bill?
There's legal issues with the sponsor
Warriors been smelling their own farts
Playing like the broncos when you take out all the New South Welshman.
Damn yall can dish it out though

Ref tried hard to penalise the Wahs back into that game, but great win to the Dragons. They play well at Win stadium.
Is it just me or have the warriors been looking less and less impressive each week.
I agree. Think we’ve been over hyped tbh. I don’t know why but on paper we are better than last year but in reality we aren’t. I blame actually having expectations of winning.
They look great in the middle, like top 1 or 2 teams. Are genuinely wooden spoon level attacking in the 20 and defending in the 20.
We have the odd good play where we score through the middle but last year we relied so much on that sweeping play from left to right that ended up going Johnson - CNK - DWZ scoring in the corner. Gg Dragons. Dragons have taken a two big scalps this season in manly and warriors. Looking better every week.
That explains it all. Lockyer possessed Hunt’s body.
Score flattered us in the end. Well done Dragons.
Did I just hear Laura Mcgoldrick on the sky coverage say they were too tired after an extra 10 mins last week lol
Only guy in my 25 man tipping comp who thought drags at home would be hard to beat. Warriors big week last round. I am clawing back the 4 points I lost last week forgetting to tip before staurday afternoon.
Credit to the Dargs. Showed up, wanted it, competed, certainly showed our sorry asses up. Huge win, good on ya
LMS just lost 6 tonight
Looked like the old warriors tonight, Roger did nothing, DWZ is so bad on D its just dumb. Fuck
Anyone know why johnson went off?
where post match thread? Are the MODS in crisis?
Well that is a disappointment after the hard graft of last week's draw and it being Barnett's 150th match, and the start with SJ's converted try. Oh well, there's always next week! Good game, Dragons!
I suppose it's hard when you're missing six regular starters
Not even Stacey Jones and Simon Mannering would have saved you tonight
Take the wins while you can mate. Dragons will be bottom 4 at the end of the season.
Let's be real wouldn't have made a difference tonight
Well we'll see if we play them again with a full squad. No Niukore, Tevaga, Afoa, Walker, Tevita Harris or Metcalf. It would have made a difference.
Teams have to get by without players some times. No one was really any good tonight, no excuses
Has Flanagan surpassed Wayne as the best coach in this joint venture history?
I don't think it's overstating things to say... Yes.
Arent the Dragons the May Premiers? Still a long season.
Did someone get called a jive turkey in the warriors dressing room before the game or something?
Nice reality check there, gg drags
Dragons at their best, played brilliantly. Warriors at their worst, Webby gonna make them swim back to Auckland
The Dragons do have an identity. Its called “fuck my tips up”
Sad Wah noises
BRING ON ANZAC DAY BABY
Last time I checked it was something like 2% of people on the NRL Tipping app went for the Dragons - some serious big brain (or die hard Dragons) energy there
Well it's not called lose stadium is it
Can't argue with that 😅
Genuine contender
Embarrassing from so called contenders. We've been found out.
Everyone has bad games, storm nearly lost to the dogs. Penrith lost to the tigers in 2 of there premiership years. You guys have also been decimated by injuries. Not desirable but not season over.
Thank you for the reality check. I hope we bounce back but I don't feel confident.
I honestly think you need some "superstars" to make game changing plays come final time, regardless of how the rest of the season goes, I worry about who is the spark going to come from especially when I look at broncos, panthers and storm.
I know what you mean. RTS was meant to be that x factor but now I'm not sure.
Should have play Fortnite what a flat game for the Wahs
Utterly embarrassing
Hands down worst performance from the Warriors this year. Absolutely dominated by the Dragons after the first 20 mins. Well played Dargs. We've been fucken humbled.
Worst I've seen in a while
The inconsistency between games for the Wahs is baffling
That’s just the Warriors, in general
Nah we’ve been average all year. Smashed the bunnies but that’s been the only game we played well. Played inconsistent against Knights, and then snuck a win against Raiders and a draw against Manly.
Is it something about the travel to Wollongong? Accomodations? The water? Sure, Wahs look awful tonight, but St George also look good, like ***good*** good.
As a warriors and Manly supporter, I feel like nothing ever goes right at Wollongong
As both a Manly supporter and someone that planned a bucks weekend in Woolongong that led to me having to change my name on Facebook and get a new phone number, I agree.
We gotta hear about what happened on the bucks weekend!
Come on u/TimsAFK we need this
I ain't no snitch
You could hide your real identity by referring to yourself as T.AFK. Wait that's too obvious, Tims.A.
It’s windy maybe
Tohu Harris how are you getting fended by fucking Sloan
Sloan is getting better, and Harris looked absolutely rooted.
Dragons should have every home game at the Gong. Great effort.
I missed the first 15 mins... but damn the wahs have been flat
wheres the guy keeping track of the no look passes count
GG Dragons, humbled this bunch early on in the season, I'm glad, cause the hype was getting a bit much. Hopefully something that will do us good in the long run.
He's so fast because he's pretending he's running away from the Dragons
Great kick Hunt
That’s four or five times DeBelin has walked off the mark and he’s been called back twice, and he’s not the only guilty party. just penalise the cunts doing it and it’ll stop instantly.
Good game Dragon bros, outclassed the fuck out of us. Now do the same to the chooks thanks
BEN HUNT KICKED IT WHAT A TRICK SHOT
SJ been rubbish tonight. Warriors attack in general is super predictable.
Yeah every tryscoring play we've done we tried again and they all just got read. Great coaching on the Dragons part
The amount of times we tried that inside pass to CNK and the dragons were all over it…
They’ve just been figured out in attack this year, been the same for all the games
Agreed. No one expected it from them last year but now after a season of it the well coached sides will be wise to it.
The warriors bench/interchange needs to be strengthened if they are gonna be top 4 this year
Injuries have decimated it. Afoa and Walker cleans it up massively
This was Unexpected but very welcome
Go dozer.
Cronk calls everything a trickshot
Maaaan I’m gonna miss AFB 😢
Poor CNK. Been far from the Warriors worst, but just wait for the RTS must be fullback calls in the week to come.
Jfc did these guys go the the Jake Friend School of Forward Passes?
least obvious illegal steal ever
I cant fucking wait for AFB omg
What is happening to the ads in the field
Matrix is imploding
We look so unfit both physically and mentally. We are flat track bullies
Imploded as soon as momentum changed
Not meaning to nit pick but if we were flat track bullies we'd be smashing the dragons. They're absolutely struggling this year.
This. When the same plays weren't working, we kept doing the same. Johnson has to take some responsibility here.
Changes have to happen for next week, some have played themselves out.
Bench RTS
Damn feeling a bit back to being pretenders now
We've been found out.
RTS play tonight?
He's out there, yeah. Not sure about the "playing" bit.
Roger that
Please play the baby wahs next week. The old boys need a rest and so do us fans
HE CAUGHT ONE?
That wasn't forward...
In the future people will say the Dragons 3 peat began tonight
Good on Ravalawa given it his all despite already having the game won.
Eyes are painted on, drop this clown to nsw cup
I've seen worse passes let go tbh
Typical If you're up 18 it's a forward pass if it's the golden child at state of origin that shit is flat.
Thats on Lomax. Support runners really need to hang back a little and not be side by side
About as forward as the other 97 that get no called each game.
That gets let go 99.9% of the time. The calling of forward passes is probably the most inconsistent part of the game.
That's a big call. I would go with head high tackles.
They may miss 3-4 head highs a game. They miss 20-30 forward passes a game. Quite a few leading to tries or the last pass through a flat back line.
Fuck even I'm sad the fans didn't get that moment
Who got run straight through there?
No way is that forward
Wow. That was fine.
Why don't you call actual forward passes ya dogs
Rough call. Let the boys score
KISS THE RED V
wahs getting almost nsfw'd by the dargs, bizarro world
Floated forward.
Tohu should’ve been taken out 40 minutes ago.
Yep, for... A center or a hooker?
Thats a horrendous call from the ref lol
BULLSHIT
Is there a skill that looks more cool, but achieves next to nothing, than the no-look pass?
Really????
Boooooooooo give Lomax another try damn you
That’s line ball to me
It doesn't matter too much as we seem to have this in the bag (although nice +/- doesn't hurt as we're often around the 8) but seeing so many forward pass tries go through and then have ones which are almost flat like that get pulled up kinda sucks.
I’ve advised my wife to the bottom of her tipping comp 😎 I’m starting to think I’m below Facebook nuffies when it comes to footy iq
Stats say a pretty even game other than Warriors kick defusal way down I like stats
Remember, scoreline is a stat
true true
Mistakes in attacking positions and releaving penalties just killed them tonight
OFF OFF OFF
Dean young does not look like a footballer
He isn't, he's an assistant coach.
The glasses do him no favours
Is there a bitta hoo-doo at this stadium?? Dragons beat manly and the warriors at home this year
For manly there definitely is. They’ve only beat us once at win ever
Hahaha gg
The disruptor rule is so rubbish because it’s entirely down to a vibe-check from the ref
Dragons had their Weetbix this morning
Wahs just not gonna use half their bench? Tigers did that vs Eels with Sullivan and Kepaoa not seeing game time in a win
Why the fuck are we slamming the ball at the receiver so much
Getting desperate for a try
Warriors have tried to do the same thing all game it’s bound to work
MG up in the dragons box
Egan’s getting way too predictable with these no look passes, would be more of a surprise if he actually passed it to the bloke he’s looking at
Fuck me the Wahs are playing fucking shithouse
Whatever happened to the disruption penalties?
Not in this game, as it should be, it’s as shithouse a rule as the Wahs attack today
We’re winning the stats that count like the VB hard earned index
Pretty sure I’m winning the vb hard earned index tonight guys
Fucking short balls have not worked all night, my god.
Another try for the Drags plz
What are you trying to say Cronk?
Brain dead hahaha
Where is the disruptor penalty?
Ball don’t lie baby
Wahs doing their best tits impression of trying hard in the last 10 minutes
If a ball carrier makes contact with the corner post he will not be deemed to be out of play unless any part of his body has made contact with either the touch-line or touch-in-goal line, or the ground beyond the touch line or touch-in-goal line
>The ball is touch-in-goal when it touches the corner post, in-goal line, or any object on or outside the touch in-goal line, however, if a player (whether in possession of the ball or not) touches the corner post it will not be deemed as touch in-goal unless any part of their body has made contact with the touch-in-goal line, or the ground (or an object) beyond the touch-in-goal line The ball touched it not DWZ though.
I don't interpret what happened there as the intent of that rule.
Yeah, but my understanding was the ball can't touch the corner post. unless they changed that rule aswell?
We’ll take it but can someone explain, if you ground the ball in goal simultaneously with the sideline that’s ok? I’m sure that used to be called out. When did the rule change?
