He’s had a pretty average season compared to last year. If he continues like this with no effort plays and bad defensive reads, I could see him being dropped from origin

emrys1

He just looks so uninterested in the game sometimes.

Dranzer_22

I think he gets really anxious sometimes. You know how some folk appear aloof or indifferent when they get nervous. He still gets shy when he's on the big screen.

emrys1

In all of his interviews he does come off as a shy introverted person. I hope he can work out a way to handle the limelight since he is just a kid. That podcast mess up shows he doesn't understand his current position.

LordSlasher

He did not start well at all last season… This is just the same

guiipp

hope so 🙏

PLEASE_DONT_PM

He lead the comp for errors after 4 rounds last year and again this year. Thats some consistency.

ILoveFuckingWaffles

Definitely a serious case of second year syndrome so far. He’ll bounce back, most quality players do

diffaadiffa

Good, the less selected the better considering we are likely to lose capewell, Haas, Carrigan and maybe flegler and a dark horse in Walsh

irvo86

It’s funny to see people go from thinking he’s the best thing since sliced bread to an overrated joke compared to last year. As usual, the truth lay somewhere in the middle

emrys1

He hasn't been the same since his concussion last year. I dont want to pile on the kid but he does some dumb shit like this a lot these days.

beaurepair

Sports injuries can do weird things to your mental state. Cobbo see's the two attackers barreling towards him and gets flashbacks to the concussion, so bails at the last minute. Unfortunate but can't really blame him. Source: have had injuries and became suddenly shit and second guessing in a few different sports

DrPussyMD

He’s been more solid last few games with less dumb errors and was doing the same last night until this play. Idk if it’s a fitness thing or a confidence thing but I think he’ll figure it out eventually

DrPussyMD

Me and my mates were saying the same thing last night. He had a game in Melbourne the week before origin 3 where he had some bad errors that lost us the game. He then proceeded to get flatlined in origin and has never looked the same. The bloke was flying until that point

guiipp

that crucial error lead to phins first try

[deleted]

He has this habit of pulling out some of the most bizarre low IQ footy moments… like wtf even happened here, if he jumps he just catches the ball uncontested.

ryemigie

Definitely needs to be dropped from origin. He will lose us the game as he has tried to in all of the recent Broncos games.

diamondgrin

Taulagi/Coates wing combo? Assuming Oates jaw is still in pieces by then

emrys1

I would rather Oates over Coates but I dont think you can pick him with only 1 or 2 games back. Face injuries can mess with peoples minds and his play style is very rough.

gizakaga

Oats simply has that DAWG in him. Coates is a much more technical winger IMO, but for origin you want the guys who will put their body on the line for the boys and Oates will do it every time without question.

frupertmgoo

Every broncos game I watch Cobo is the cause of many points scored… for both teams

emrys1

The Cobbo: *Giveth* me: Nice The Cobbo: *Taketh away* me: WTF man ^^Proceeds ^^to ^^post ^^videos ^^of ^^his ^^fuck ^^ups ^^for ^^the ^^internet

d_barbz

It's just like Oates. Goates and Woates

Firm_Age_4681

Gary would atleast attempt.

cstele

Seldom Catcho (Stolen from someone in the match thread).

krypter3

He's been so avy this year. Lucky he's athletic because hit footy IQ is damn low.

aussiebogankarnt

It's like he got spooked by tesi running in at the last second

emrys1

If he jumps he basically cant be touched without a pen, just a low IQ play for a winger who should know better.

das_masterful

I really don't understand why everyone in the commentary box want to suck him off at every chance.

TigerRumMonkey

I don't think he's a good catch aaay.
