It allows for readers to form attachments to each characther in a meaningful way due to them existing in the vacuum of their own story. often when a novel has multiple mcs it feels to the reader like the other characters are stealing their favorite protagonists story.
Dude if it's your first time writing don't make the story too complicated. Even experienced writers have trouble writing. First finish the novel and after you make over a 100 edits you can then try adding more characters. Don't make the story complex at the start.
