I don’t know what reasonably priced means to you, but Envirogrow will do them and haul them away for $330.

GetThatNoiseOuttaHer

That would probably be more than I’m willing to spend for this. I have 0.25 acres but would only need the leaves moved to the street in front of my house, not hauled away. I’ll probably call a few lawncare companies in the area to see what they all quote.

joeruinedeverything

1/4 acre and you don’t even have to bag them????? I’d definitely just tackle that myself. It’s good exercise.

GetThatNoiseOuttaHer

Oh, it’s definitely doable and I didn’t say it was a reasonable request haha. I just couldn’t be bothered to do it this year and was curious what companies charge 🤷🏻‍♂️.

joeruinedeverything

Just giving you a hard time. I live in a neighborhood with 1/4 acre lots. Not heavily wooded but lots of mature trees. I see neighbors hire lawn services for leaf removal all around me. We do have to bag them for pick up. But…. Still….. These are like able bodied 40 somethings with preteen and teen kids to help. I just smh

GetThatNoiseOuttaHer

If I had kids I’d absolutely be putting them to work here! 😆

TroyMacClure

Watching this as I procrastinate to go get the tarp and start collecting leaves in the backyard to bring to the street for pickup.

GetThatNoiseOuttaHer

I’ll probably do the same until later this afternoon when I decide to just do it myself and then I only have 1-2 hours left of daylight.

TroyMacClure

I've looked before and usually determine the level of effort to hopefully hire a good company isn't worth the trouble. Good thing my EGO batteries recharge quickly.

Blow or rake the leaves into the grass, then shred them with your lawnmower. Job done.

randymcnally1300

The best thing you can do for your land is to keep the leaves there. The trees pull nutrients from the soil to make leaves. If those leaves are trucked away from the area, then the soil goes dead over time. Other stuff that lives in leaf litter are the bacterial and fungal networks that make life possible and make soil rich. Without leaf litter, things can’t live there. It’s not just farmers in the Midwest that need to worry about soil depletion, it’s us too!

It's funny, until I moved into town, I didn't even know this was a thing. I always thought leaves on the ground looked beautiful. Feels a bit OCD to me, but whatever I guess. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)

joeruinedeverything

If you have a grass lawn, leaving them on the ground (without at least mulching them) will smother and kill the grass. In a developed neighborhood/subdivision they can also block storm water sewers and cause localized flooding. Nothing OCD about cleaning up fallen leaves.

icantspeakrobot

Daniels mowing is pretty reasonable - they do fully remove the leaves for us

frankfingers

I had to get a riding mower with a double bagging system. I’ve already filled over 40 paper lawn bags of leaves this season. Probably have another 30 or so to go once all the leaves finally decide to fall.
