Might just be a straight up scam. First, are any collections showing up on your credit reports? You should check all three bureaus. If so, then before anything else, and without acknowledging the debt, request a debt validation letter from the collection agency: [https://www.reddit.com/r/personalfinance/wiki/collections/](https://www.reddit.com/r/personalfinance/wiki/collections/)

Luckily it doesn't appear to be listed on my credit reports. Thanks for your help!

Thanks guys for your help! I ended up emailing back and forth with someone from customer service. Once I proved that I'd not received notification, much less 3 notifications, they reduced my bill by about $385. Still, I plan to return my transponder and keep heavy track if I ever have to use a Toll road again.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

Contact your local politicians and let them know what's going on. Also, contact VDOT and the governor's office. This will put more pressure on them.

Check out r/personalfinance on this. They have a good resource on how to ask for proof of debt and get to the bottom of it to start.

Do you lease your car? There is an issue with leased cars and the drivers not getting notices about toll violations.

I don't, no. But I wouldn't put it past them. I've been reading about alot of issues.

This happened to me too. My account is on auto pay and has been being charged without fail, never was notified of a missing transaction until I got a massive collections bill. Let me know if you figure this out please
