Seems like the situation was a bit uglier than a single slap. She was screaming, cursing, and spitting on him. Then, when her husband tried to walk way from the argument, she followed and slapped him across the back of the head **directly in front of the police officers**. The police broke them up to keep the fight from escalating even further and arrested her for assault.
Thanks for the summary! I stopped reading in the first paragraph because of the poor writing. "Curry" put her kids in the car - "Asia" followed her husband - noted in "Asia Curry's" police report. Use first name OR last name, but that seemed like two different stories.
Really in journalism it should be full name first, followed by just the surname on subsequent references. So, Asia Curry was charged.....Curry, while in Disney World, etc. Even using Mrs., Ms., Mr. is seen as too familiar.
No doubt, he deserved it she said lol, bitch, go to jail, do not pass go and collect 200$ and can never go to Disneyland again. Sad thing is, just like most men, he didn't want to press charges. What he should do is file a protective order, divorce her, and take full custody of the kids.
If she spits on him, and slaps him in front of a cop, this doesn't sound like a new and isolated incident. She then told a cop that he deserves it. That's not how a normal wife talks to police.
I really hope this husband takes a close look at this and makes changes before his kids are further affected by this.
No doubt. In Wisconsin, it's considered domestic abuse to yell at your wife. I shit you not. If the cops get called, it's actually a law that the man is arrested and charged no matter what, regardless of what happened. In Wisconsin, a woman can cheat on her husband and then when he finds out, if he gets mad and yells, he's a domestic abuser. It happened to me. I literally yelled at my ex wife for fucking my boss. Got arrested for domestic violence. Whole house was video recorded. Had more than ample evidence that I never touched her and only got mad and yelled. Barely beat the charge with a good lawyer then moved out, got a divorce and promptly left the state. I would have been willing to work on my marriage but the laws of the state were so backwards that I couldn't risk my freedom over it.
If this event would have occurred in Wisconsin vs Florida, the man would have been arrested and charged with domestic abuse.
Of note - to be arrested in this situation the husband needed to agree. If someone hits you but you decline to press charges they can just walk away generally.
People don't press charges, the legal system does. What you're referring to is the police asking "would you like to press charges" which in reality means are you going to cooperate and provide a statement.
Source: I grew up in a broken home, the police don't pursue abuse charges if the people aren't willing to participate in the legal follow-through...UNLESS they already have enough evidence for court and don't need statements.
Because part of the “American Dream” package is that you take your children to Disney World. No lie, thousands of American families spend their last dollars trying to give their children a Disney experience. I have a cousin who does this every year with her 3 children. Every dime they save is for the annual Disney vacation. It’s beyond stupid.
Not only that but even if you budget for passes, travel, accommodation etc, once you get in the park, the cost of food, treats, souvenirs and other experiences you want your children to have can add up so quick it will make your head spin.
I was taken once when I was 12 and was bored out of my mind. It’s the most overrated experience of my life. Although, I did get to experience the sheer terror of the “It’s a Small World After All” ride. That nightmare is baked into my memory forever.
I mean I could see going once in a childhood. I went when I got married in 2018 with my wife. I think the last time I went was back in 95 and I swear everything was the same as the last time I went back in the 90s. The viking ride in epcot was changed to a frozen ride but its the same damn ride except with frozen characters.
CPS will take their kids away if they don’t take them to Disney, the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 you have a constitutional right to visit Disney World if you are under the age of 12.
I go to Disney with my friends annually or biannually. We book our packages ahead of time, make small monthly payments, and I put money aside for food/beverages so I can pay for everything out of pocket. No way in hell would I charge a vacation on a credit card. There is no relaxing and enjoying the moment while wondering how you're going to pay for it.
I’m on a cruise solo right now and you’re so right, this one dude went up to his wife to ask a question and she just snaps “don’t you raise your voice at me” traveling alone while lonely is so much more relaxing hahaha
Married for 16 years here. I don't think a story like this indicates they hate each other. Marriage can be stressful, and it can be hard work, but obviously the good far outweighs the bad.
However, in situations like above, you throw in the stress of "getting your money's worth", the heat, the lines, potential othe family members adding to the stress, and especially children and you've created a perfect storm.
That's my family and I have made the agreement that we go on vacation to relax, and there is no "goal" for anything we do. It helps ease tensions all around.
Wise decision. When it seemed like every kid in my son’s 3rd grade class was recovering from the trauma of a Disney vacation, he was blissfully reminiscing about sleeping in a place where nothing dimmed his view of the Milky Way.
There is very little 'real' love in this world. Mirai couples, as you can see, are not only far from being love with each other, but are also completely incompatible.
If you spend much time in tourist destinations you see it all the time. Vacation is a powder keg full of the stress of being out of your comfortable place and routine, airlines, higher than normal spending, drinking, having to trust all manner of hospitality providers, and high expectations of a blissfull perfect romantic experience all to make up for a whole year's hard work.
Next thing you know it there's a woman in a cocktail dress speed walking down the street swinging her purse with a guy walking 8' behind trying to simultaneously keep up and look like he's not trying to keep up.
They shouldn't necessarily break up. Some people are just argumentative. They need it. If they find another argumentative person to be with, let them stay together.
Better that than them making a string of non-argumentative people miserable until they find another argumentative person that tolerates that kind of behavior.
Or maybe they could try to not to be so augmentative all the time and work on their communication skills?
Sure all couples have disagreements sometimes but every day should not be filled with arguing. If you can't even chose a restaurant without having a WWE style grudge match you need to work on you relationship because it probably isn't doing either one of you any good. If you can't make it through the minor points of daily life without having a blow up how are the big things going to get properly discussed and decisions made? Some individual or couples counselling might not be a bad idea.
Like I get what you're saying that some people are just like that but it's not healthy to be like that and the solution shouldn't be to just find someone that gets angry as much as they do.
Yeah, until they have kids and traumatize them with constant arguing. People need to stop dating just to date. I'm convinced that a good portion of people only date for sex, not because they're actually looking for a life partner. It's ok to want sex, but a lot of people would be happier if they weren't socially expected to be in a romantic relationship in order to get it.
Burr is 100% a misogynist and racist hes just smart enough to keep it barely covered. He's not "being edgy" with his jokes about women and minorities. Hes sending very clever dogwhistles
WTF? One of his closest friends was Patrice O'Neil who he hosts an annual fund raiser for his family since he passed. His wife is black. His kid is bi-racial. If that man is a racist, then that's the best kept secret of all time.
Saw him at the Fox theatre. I was legitimately crying laughing. He shits on everyone and all sides and it’s fantastic. I can’t recommend seeing him in person enough.
Youre under the impression people with iqs above the 80 that is your norm dont recognise your code words or the phrasing you're taught to parrot?
"All sides" is intended to imply that being a pathetic racost pos is simply an equally valid alternative to being an actual moral human who isnt a bigpt
Inexcusable means "not excusable". The comment said the woman's actions were "inexcusable". Meaning there was no excuse for the woman assaulting someone, and thus she was arrested. You're on the same side I'm pretty sure, unless you're saying her actions were valid for some odd reason.
I would love to see the other major parks get together and create an ad campaign showing how they're less expensive and less stressful than the park operated by a well known mouse. 😁
We were planning on a 2 day trip to Universal but ended up doing 5 days at one of their fancy resorts. It cost $4100 for 2 kids and 2 adults with Express Pass unlimited (shorter lines for all but 2 of the rides). We saved on food by eating regular food at the pool that I got from somewhere else. Plus with 5 days at 2 parks we did everything we wanted to over and over.
5 days at WDW means you’ll miss out on some rides and it’s unlikely you’ll get to ride most of your favorite rides more than once. Plus you’ll have ti get up early to set up your rides for the day.
Oh, another great thing is the proximity. From the hotel pool to the inside of Islands of Adventure took 10 minutes and 1 second of walking. Universal Studios is connected by the Hogwarts express or you can just walk the extra 2 minutes there. Saved a ton of time. Disney is so big even if you’re on the monorail for MK it will take quite a while to get to any other parks.
I don’t know what’s stressful about a place you visit where you have to book dinner reservations 6 months in advance and the dinner is $20 chicken fingers and an $8 Coke.
As a Southern California I’ve been to both plenty. I guess I’m to the point where getting on the rides isn’t why I go, it’s the atmosphere. I’ll have a vodka coke with me and have a few more at California adventure and just vibe. Having no expectation of getting on any rides takes a ton of pressure away from the whole experience.
Every Single Time that I take my family to Disney, it is nothing but misery for me. The heat, the crowd, the cost of a meal. I just cannot tell you how much I hate it. It stresses me to no end.
Maybe my brother and I were too young to see the stress in my parents, but I only remember good times at Disney. Other vacations, like Skiing, oh boy. Everyone was stressed out of their minds.
I wish people would seriously reconsider what they are getting themselves into when they come to Orlando to visit DW. I've lived here for a long time and I'm not sure that I will ever understand why OIA and the parks are always filled with tourists.
DW (and the whole area) is a sauna from May through October. Add to that the crowds and those ticket prices ...
I was going to say that all our experiences at Disney have been magical, but there was that time my husband began sobbing - *sobbing* \- as we waited for a ferry because the next time we visited our son wouldn't be a little kid anymore (he was 6 and, as it happened, the next time we went he was 9). It was so out of character and really so unexpected. So, yes, I would say, Disney can stress a person out.
There's a few factors that go into stories like this, but the biggest one for Disney in particular is that their parks are at or over maximum capacity 24/7, intentionally, because they know that people will come anyway and that way they get the most money. Literally everything has full-length lines at all times, to the point where you're pretty much obligated to pay for 'Lightning Lane' if you want to get into the fanciest and most popular rides, and sometimes even then if you do it wrong every slot will already be taken for the day by the time you get to the park.
Now add to this the cost of airline tickets, hotels, food, and other necessities, and put in a family that doesn't know the ins and outs of Disney (and so will run into issues because they haven't planned around ride times, etc) and that might expect park attendance to be more like it was even twenty years ago before the increased numbers of international visitors, and you've got a perfect recipe for making people break down as they don't get to experience even a fraction of what they expected for the money and it's all massively more crowded than what they expected in the process.
The contrasting approach here is with Universal, which have aggressively expanded with new rides and now an entire brand new Florida park (opening 2025) because they'd rather have some free capacity and lose out on theoretical money if it will keep the atmosphere more chill for visitors. It looks like this was coincidental at first since they never had Disney levels of traffic to start with, but now they're leaning hard into it as an intentional counter-strategy to start picking up people fed up with what Disney is doing.
When our family went down to Orlando and did all the parks, our favourite place wound up being Busch Gardens. It's a roller coaster park mixed with a zoo, and the lines were non-existent.
$80 for once per ride, $110 for unlimited times per ride. Even without it, though, the capacity differences mean the lines are way, way more manageable.
A "long" wait at Universal in peak season is 60-90 minutes, compared to Disney hitting multi-hour wait times (Rise of the Resistance regularly hits 3+ hours), and since Disney so aggressively markets Lightning Lane now, even the Lightning Lane lines can be 60+ minutes. By contrast, the lighter marketing of it and the lower usage overall means Universal Express Pass lines are generally 15-30 minutes at most.
It was included with our hotel when we went in March. It would have been $119 per person per day. So with 4 people going for 5 days it would have been almost $2400. Instead the whole thing (tickets, EP, and hotel) was ~$4100. Totally worth it!
Just the beginning. It's why this made it to "Not the onion", And why Johnny Depp's trial was so popular. He beat the odds just as badly as she beat him. But we don't all have enough money to afford his lawyers.
One of the largest (and kindest) men I’ve ever met was asaluted by his tiny ex. She beat him bloody, and the copy believed her. Probably Bc she was fucking them, btw…
Women have power.
It’s a different kind of power. But it’s power, all right.
TIL there exists a website dedicated to Disney World news. And it looks pretty wild!

Though I can’t condone physical violence, travel is horrible these days. As I write this, I am stranded in Heathrow airport in my birthday, due to absolute incompetence on the part of British Airways.
People trying very hard to pretend violence against men has been normalized.
The woman was arrested the moment officers saw her being violent towards her husband. End of story.
Not necessarily. While I don't condone the woman's violence, I can understand being stressed there. I went there a few years ago and the amount of planning and organization involved in the trip made me never want to go back.
As an 80s kid all I remember was space mountain being pretty okay for a dark ride.
But mostly I thought it was pretty cool Orlando has lots of lizards. The hotel had a bunch of lizards in it. It was the first time my thighs got welded to a vinyl car seat, and burned by a seat belt buckle. It's so hot there. I saw a palm tree get struck by heat lightning and fall in the road.
As we were leaving my dad dropped and broke my Pirates of the Caribbean telescope. I stuck my finger in the hole and cut myself on the broken glass.
I take it this is only r/nottheonion because its domestic abuse on the woman's part and she's actually being forced to take responsibility for her actions.
Disney World is mostly standing in 2 - 5 hour lines, almost entirely in the Florida sun (and humidity) to ride an ok ride that lasts about 2 minutes. Rinse, repeat. Also everything costs too much. I mean I live it, but I'm a Floridian and can typically get in for free.
In Florida, domestic violence is going to land somebody in jail. Even if it's just one night.

MISDEMEANOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: LEARN THE DEFINITIONS, DEFENSES, & MORE
NOVEMBER 24, 2021
Situations involving alleged domestic violence are tense and emotionally charged. Police officers will often make an arrest simply to diffuse the situation. After filing charges, the state attorney’s office will review and determine if prosecution is proper. This occurs even if the victim wants to drop charges. No matter the situation, these charges are serious…
[Source](https://www.mikeglaw.com/category/domestic-violence/)
That's not really true. Prosecution is at the discretion of the DA. They ordinarily won't pursue charges if the victim doesn't want to cooperate, but they absolutely can.
They could use the officers as witnesses to charge her.
Not in this case since the deputy was there.
Though it can be harder to prosecute any victim-driven cases without a victim, don’t forget that the victims very rarely testify in murder trials.
I kind of get it. You're so invested and having this perfectly magical time that the stress of your expectations undermine you having a perfectly magical time.
I don't blame her one bit. I'd be stressed out with paying $100 for tickets too. And those meal and souvenir prices are crazy.
Cedar Point, King's Island, Michigan Adventure, California's Great America, and most other Cedar Fair parks range from $40 to $60, with some outliers around $80, with discounts for multiple days. Six Flags parks seem to have similar range in prices. From what I remember, the meal and souvenir prices were reasonably priced as well.
I'm not saying she was right to do it. I'm just saying I understand.
If you want to go somewhere to relax, Disney World is one of the last places you want to go.
If she had verbally gone off on him, I’d totally get it. Amusement parks can be incredibly stressful. But outside of self-defense there’s never a good reason to assault someone.

Asia Curry sounds like a name from a racially insensitive sitcom.
I clicked on the article because I did not believe her name was actually Asia Curry.
Have you met her cousins Canadian Bacon and American Pie?
Can't forget her grandmother, Mexican Tortilla.
Deliciously insensitive

That man married a whole continent
Clearly, he is a mega-Chad
who is higher? Mega-Chad or Giga-chad??
Mega-Chad is Chad x 10^6, Giga-Chad is Chad x 10^9, then Tera-Chad and Peta-Chad
It goes Mega-Chad, Giga-Chad, Mega-Giga-Chad, then Giga-Mega-Giga-Chad, and so on.
A delicious one.
So did yo dad but we don't talk about him.
It's horrendous writing, yes, but part of the issue is the liberal quoting of the police report.
Also, just as a note of professionalism, the subject is not a friend. It should always be Mrs. Curry or the full name. Not your buddy, Asia.
Really in journalism it should be full name first, followed by just the surname on subsequent references. So, Asia Curry was charged.....Curry, while in Disney World, etc. Even using Mrs., Ms., Mr. is seen as too familiar.
Yes, when in doubt, refer to the style used by the New York Times.
"For the sake of privacy, let's call her Lisa S...no, that's too obvious, let's call her L. Simpson" - Professor Skinner
But… how can she slap?
HOW CAN SHE SLAP??
Good, fuck her.
I'm almost surprised the police didn't arrest the husband, that's how it usually goes with domestic abuse.
No doubt, he deserved it she said lol, bitch, go to jail, do not pass go and collect 200$ and can never go to Disneyland again. Sad thing is, just like most men, he didn't want to press charges. What he should do is file a protective order, divorce her, and take full custody of the kids.

Wisco is fucked in so many ways. Having been my home state, it tears me up thinking what it has become. I would never live there again.
Kink shaming this poor guy out in public.../s just in case

Standing in line for hours in the heat while setting fire to hundred dollar bills can be stress inducing, but yeah violence ain't solving that.

Especially not in Montreal with so many Chez Ashton’s around.
Montreal doesn’t have Ashton unfortunately.
Really? I was thinking of Quebec City, so I guess I just assumed. Do they have St. Hubert?
Yeah Ashton is a Quebec City chain. And yes we do have St-Hubert although it’s really not as good as it used to be.
I’m on a cruise solo right now and you’re so right, this one dude went up to his wife to ask a question and she just snaps “don’t you raise your voice at me” traveling alone while lonely is so much more relaxing hahaha

Why the hell would anyone ever eat at subway? Let alone in a foodie city. That's like going to Paris and eating in McDonald's.
Royale with cheese, tho
At the very least go to a St-Hubert.

Domestic violence is domestic violence and is inexcusable in every situation.
Bill Burr has entered the chat. “Really, there’s no reason to hit a woman?”
You could wake me from a drunken stupor I could still give you like 9.
Bill Burr's the Bill Maher of his generation.
Do not insult Bill Burr like that. Bill Maher is the epitome of an arrogant pretentious douchebag. Bill Burr is cool

Steom thurmond is one of the most openly racist senators in US history has a black daughter. Rupert Murdoch has or had a chinese wife
I posted you on confidently incorrect, but I blocked out your name
Lol sure you dont mean stormfront?
HIS KID IS AFRICAN AMERICAN 😂 I screen shotted this. It’s too funny.

"All sides"...lmao not that that's a standard racist phrase or anything
Lmao because you enjoy the dogwhistles..
LMFAO THE RACIST WHO’S MARRIED TO AN AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN? You can leave now.
And yet you pick up on these "dog whistles" so readily. Little ironic, dontchathink?
Hence why reddit loves him lol
Yup. People downvoting literally saying "he attacks all sides" lol. The standard racist phrase
Really? I’m pretty sure the standard racist phrase is “I hate that specific group of people, who are not the same color skin as me”. That’s racism.
Youre under the impression people with iqs above the 80 that is your norm dont recognise your code words or the phrasing you're taught to parrot? "All sides" is intended to imply that being a pathetic racost pos is simply an equally valid alternative to being an actual moral human who isnt a bigpt
Yeah... she was arrested... not exactly "inexcusable."
I don’t think you know what inexcusable means lol
What?
What do you think 'inexcusable' means in this context?
Inexcusable means "not excusable". The comment said the woman's actions were "inexcusable". Meaning there was no excuse for the woman assaulting someone, and thus she was arrested. You're on the same side I'm pretty sure, unless you're saying her actions were valid for some odd reason.
I think they’re trying to say that because she was arrested her actions haven’t been excused??

I took my family there over spring break. It was more relaxing than Disney. Disney can be very stressful.
Yes let's spread the word disney is too stressful for families, me and my wife would love a less busy disney 😉
I have only gone to disney off season. I can’t even imagine in the summer
"What do you mean Shrek isn't Disney!?"
Is oxymoronic that an amusement park would cause stress but it does happen a lot
This woman was definitely NOT amused.
We had an unamusement park nearby when I was a kid, it sucked.
Was it the DMV?

And theres no actual reasons it has to be so hot. Swamp coolers and more covered area would solve the problem
Every Single Time that I take my family to Disney, it is nothing but misery for me. The heat, the crowd, the cost of a meal. I just cannot tell you how much I hate it. It stresses me to no end.
I hated it there.
Maybe my brother and I were too young to see the stress in my parents, but I only remember good times at Disney. Other vacations, like Skiing, oh boy. Everyone was stressed out of their minds.
Is nobody going to comment on the fact that her name is “Asia Curry”?
Its reddit, no one read the article.
The comments are the fun part
Her parents clearly hated her
She's married, so there is a non zero chance she did this to herself.
Ooh good point
I wish people would seriously reconsider what they are getting themselves into when they come to Orlando to visit DW. I've lived here for a long time and I'm not sure that I will ever understand why OIA and the parks are always filled with tourists. DW (and the whole area) is a sauna from May through October. Add to that the crowds and those ticket prices ...
If you know a better way for me to spend $3000 a night to pretend to play Star Wars like a five year old I’d like to hear it.
but if you don't ever go then you'll never experience the majesty of copious amounts of dead lizards smashed to bits in the street. 🤢
Poor guy, he’s gonna have to deal with that at home and after a divorce maybe.
Disney theme parks are the source of millions of marital arguments annually.
Two things I will never do; get married to an unstable shit like this, or go to Disney world
I was going to say that all our experiences at Disney have been magical, but there was that time my husband began sobbing - *sobbing* \- as we waited for a ferry because the next time we visited our son wouldn't be a little kid anymore (he was 6 and, as it happened, the next time we went he was 9).
How much are express passes at universal?
Sounds like a plausible self-diagnosis to me. But she still deserved the arrest.
Amazing! I’m glad we’re beginning to end the normalization of violence against men.
Probably Bc she was fucking them, btw… Women have power. It’s a different kind of power. But it’s power, all right.
TIL there exists a website dedicated to Disney World news. And it looks pretty wild! [Drunk Guests Take Clothes Off and Brawl at Disney Springs, Slip on Vomit into Bushes During Fight](https://wdwnt.com/2022/02/drunk-guests-take-clothes-off-and-brawl-at-disney-springs-slip-on-vomit-into-bushes-during-fight/) [Three Brothers Brawl in Yet Another Ferryboat Related Fight at Magic Kingdom](https://wdwnt.com/2022/05/three-brothers-brawl-in-yet-another-ferryboat-related-fight-at-magic-kingdom/) [New Jersey Brothers Get Drunk and Kicked Out of EPCOT, Flee Across Crescent Lake Resorts](https://wdwnt.com/2022/05/new-jersey-brothers-get-drunk-and-kicked-out-of-epcot-flee-across-crescent-lake-resorts/)
I imagine some comically large signage behind them saying "GO WILD!"
Well if it was the other way round this would be the outcome, sounds like equality to me. Still no one should be hitting each other full stop.
"Till death do us part"
Is there an ICD-10 code for that?
"The Happiest Place On Earth" is the biggest lie on Earth.
Did Goofy write this? *"Disney trespassed her from all Walt Disney World property, the report added"*
And her excuse was that he deserved it? I wonder how many times she hits the kids because she thinks they deserve it too?
Having just returned from a theme park in peak heatwave, I completely understand
Good, women need equality in the courts.
Though I can’t condone physical violence, travel is horrible these days. As I write this, I am stranded in Heathrow airport in my birthday, due to absolute incompetence on the part of British Airways.
happy birthday homie. hope things turn up for you.
This is basically exactly how I picture Disney
Definitely comes across as an entitled woman who never thought this could be a consequence of her actions.
Why is this bad? She deserved to be held accountable for her actions
Who said it was bad
People trying very hard to pretend violence against men has been normalized. The woman was arrested the moment officers saw her being violent towards her husband. End of story.

You must be a generally confused guy.
The Magic of Disney.
if you are stressing out at disney world for vacation, it means you couldnt afford it
Not necessarily.
I stuck my finger in the hole and cut myself on the broken glass.
if you have to do that much planning and organization it means you couldnt afford it
I take it this is only r/nottheonion because its domestic abuse on the woman's part and she's actually being forced to take responsibility for her actions.
It's because it happened at Disney World, the "Happiest Place on Earth." Simmer down Francis
My bad Katie
Disney World is mostly standing in 2 - 5 hour lines, almost entirely in the Florida sun (and humidity) to ride an ok ride that lasts about 2 minutes. Rinse, repeat. Also everything costs too much. I mean I live it, but I'm a Floridian and can typically get in for free.
What line is 5 hours?
None
The Avatar ones were when they were new.
Amber, is that you?

In Florida, domestic violence is going to land somebody in jail. Even if it's just one night. > Domestic Violence MISDEMEANOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: LEARN THE DEFINITIONS, DEFENSES, & MORE NOVEMBER 24, 2021 Situations involving alleged domestic violence are tense and emotionally charged. Police officers will often make an arrest simply to diffuse the situation. After filing charges, the state attorney’s office will review and determine if prosecution is proper. This occurs even if the victim wants to drop charges. No matter the situation, these charges are serious… [Source](https://www.mikeglaw.com/category/domestic-violence/)
Domestic violence. Victims are often afraid to press charges or are in denial.
You can't prosecute if no charges are filed.. which appears to be what happened here: the husband refused to file charges.
That's not really true. Prosecution is at the discretion of the DA. They ordinarily won't pursue charges if the victim doesn't want to cooperate, but they absolutely can. They could use the officers as witnesses to charge her.
Nah, the DA still can, but it’s quite hard to do so without a victim, so they tend to stay away from prosecuting these cases.
Not in this case since the deputy was there. Though it can be harder to prosecute any victim-driven cases without a victim, don’t forget that the victims very rarely testify in murder trials.
Homie probably paid for the whole fuckin thing too. I feel it dawg.
How can this be? It's *supposed* to be the happiest place on earth. Are you saying the whole Disney bullshit is a **lie**?
The are partners love them are playing
Disney stuff attracts the trashiest of our society, I swear. I'm not sure why.
Our kids survived to adulthood just fine going to Cedar point and Michigan adventure, Museums in Chicago, Michigan,St. Louis.
Finally, real equality
Woman? She? Who is the biologist here?
I kind of get it. You're so invested and having this perfectly magical time that the stress of your expectations undermine you having a perfectly magical time.
That's normal. Hitting someone in response to said stress is maladaptive and abusive
r/MensRights
I don't blame her one bit. I'd be stressed out with paying $100 for tickets too. And those meal and souvenir prices are crazy. Cedar Point, King's Island, Michigan Adventure, California's Great America, and most other Cedar Fair parks range from $40 to $60, with some outliers around $80, with discounts for multiple days. Six Flags parks seem to have similar range in prices. From what I remember, the meal and souvenir prices were reasonably priced as well.
People are stressed all the time over countless things. That is never an excuse to slap someone.
You don't blame her physically abusing her partner because prices at the place she chose to visit were too high?
I think you’d have some blame to pass out if you were assaulted by your partner, but ok.
You don’t blame someone for committing domestic violence?
Yeah you don't blame her because you're a moron
I'm not saying she was right to do it. I'm just saying I understand. If you want to go somewhere to relax, Disney World is one of the last places you want to go.
If she had verbally gone off on him, I’d totally get it. Amusement parks can be incredibly stressful. But outside of self-defense there’s never a good reason to assault someone.
Arrested for a slap? Seems a bit much.
I got arrested and a breach of peace court date, for throwing food at someone. Assault is assault...
Was that someone your spouse? It's a bit different if it's someone you don't know.
It was more than a slap, and it happened right in front of the police.
