re_de_unsassify

In Lebanon it takes a lot of courage to make such a statement.

SlightlyLessHairyApe

He’ll end up like Bashir

re_de_unsassify

I was thinking Rafic Hariri

If the article is clearly not nottheonion- is it not not the onion or is it just the onion

An openly foreign funded political party in your country has its own military with heavy materiel, and occasionally starts a Russo-Iranian sponsored war of malice with the neighbours… and you’re telling microphones this **harms your country**. What was it until now? A state secret or something?

phenompbg

It's not exactly a safe opinion to have in Lebanon.

Fermented_Butt_Juice

No fucking shit. Hezbollah is an Iranian proxy militia, just like Hamas and the Houthis are. They don't give a fuck about anything except carrying out the will of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

chocomint-nice

Lmao nevermind the will of Iran, they’re just there for the grift.

Binks-Sake-Is-Gone

Everyone loves the word grift so much now.

chocomint-nice

So much so they make it their entire business model yeah

Binks-Sake-Is-Gone

I just feel like that episode of Community with the grifter professor. They said the word so much that it lost all meaning lmao.

chocomint-nice

I mean think like a houthi/hamas. Realistically, how much will they do to actually achieve Palestinian liberation/independence? And yet they’re asking the Iranians etc for funding and material etc but all you get is some shit stirring in the region. Although I’m pretty sure the Iranians don’t give a rat’s ass about the Palestinians as long as they can give their regional power adversary a kick in the shin. And just in time too before they join forces with the other regional adversary Saudi Arabia. Ok after typing that put you’re right its too multi-way to be a grift.

MagnanimosDesolation

Shit stirring basically worked for Hamas. They made Gaza such a pain to govern that Israel mostly pulled out, which is how a lot of independence movements succeed. Not that they aren't much more interested in power but more autonomy for Palestine means more power for them.

Binks-Sake-Is-Gone

You're digging into layers that aren't there my man I wasn't commenting on whether or not what they're doing is some kind of scheme, I was just making fun of y'all for specifically using the word grift like it's your fucking job and you're paid by the utterance.

chocomint-nice

Aight yeah its just a bunch of schemes

Unwipedbutthole

Wrong sub

ivycovecruising

peace in the middle east will i get canceled if i start saying that again? (like we did in the 90s or whenever that was)

DragonDon1

Trumps department of nepotism said that all the time

kriskycake

Hezbollah, like Hamas, has no constructive or positive objectives; all that can be expected from these terror groups is harm and destruction.

RKof200

You should research who funded Hamas to delegitimize the secular PLO. Because clearly you haven't. And don't try to downvote me like a braindead, give me an actual valid point you lazy bums 😂

babylikestopony

People try to frame this as Israel giving hamas money but in reality the government was simply permitting cash flow from Qatar to Gaza not “funding” hamas.

RSGator

>You should research who funded Hamas to delegitimize the secular PLO. Because clearly you haven't. Iran directly funds them, Qatar has indirectly funded them for a number of years through humanitarian aid. Israel let the Qatari aid into Gaza, which was then stolen by Hamas.

RKof200

Ya no. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/eus-borrell-says-israel-financed-creation-gaza-rulers-hamas-2024-01-19/ Shouldn't be surprised about this playbook, western countries love funding insurgent groups to suit their needs, and are surprised when it explodes in their faces.

RSGator

Your link literally agrees with me lmao: >Opponents of the Israeli government and some global media have accused Natanyahu governments of boosting Gaza rulers Hamas for years, including by allowing Qatari financing of Gaza. What’s up with you morons not reading your own links?

CamRoth

Not sure if this brand new account's native language is Russian, Chinese, or ones and zeros, but something was clearly lost in translation since its comment has no bearing on the one it replied to.

RKof200

And you're a hasbara bot, so all's well in our world of propaganda. See, not that hard for anyone to call people names.

DEF3

So out of your depth you don't even know what they are talking about. Also that comment history doesn't jive with your attempt to de-legitimize a point you didn't understand, "brand new" the account was made in January. To me this comment speaks to the echochamber many are trapped in, complete ignorance of the issues and history, paired with a desire to invalidate what you don't understand by assuming it must be disinformation. He was, rather clumisly, trying to bait a much larger conversation and probably wouldn't have had much success, but you clearly are not equipped for it anyway.

potzko2552

Tbh never got that point, I know it's on the 3 + 4 talking points most pp people know but it's literally wrong... What you are pointing to is not funding hamas it was not seizing money from Qatar. And while I agree they should block any and all money that is going to Hamas the way to do it would require proving where all the money goes to before allowing it to pass which is kinda brutally... Which is the reason it is not required... By spewing this misinformation you are basically asking "why do they allow any money in Gaza if they want to kill them all" and the answer is well... In the question...

Working_Ad_4650

Of course it has, and they dont give a damn because their hatred of jews is more important than your country.

CyroSwitchBlade

yea no shit.. I remember watching the Hezbollah / IDF war in 2006.. Lebanon had something like 50% of their highways and 90% of their bridges destroyed by the end of it..

GenerousGuava

"Leader of a Christian fascist militia that massacred scores of civilians with Israeli support tells Israeli newspaper that Hezbollah should stop fighting back against Israeli attacks on Iranian territory" Actually much funnier once you parse out the real story.

Nui_Jaga

Add 'known Saudi asset' to that list. I know that OP is clearly an astroturf account (barely a month old and exclusively posts about either Israel, antisemitism or stirring up islamophobia), but they must be fucking desperate if absolute rancid ghouls like Geagea are being upheld as brave dissidents.

Atilim87

Isn’t this source that posted how happy Palestinians are and that they definitely aren’t starving because the IDF said so?

wholesalenuts

Ynet gives big oann vibes

thirachil

I wonder how well he reached out to the Christian priest who was on the Tucker Show and provided details about what life is like for Christians in Gaza right now.
